So psyched about tonight's show. AMC is brilliant in how they play all of the previous episodes in preparation.
to Quickly display green progress bar and then disappear while ff do this -
Select-play-select-pause-select "during playback of shocase film from Showcases menu"
after this code I press 30 sec skip button and progress bar disappears right away and while FF, I no longer see progress bar moving which I also like. However this setting doesn't remain after reboot and since my last reboot I can't get setting to stick. Can anyone confirm you have to be playing a showcase video to input code? The only showcase video I see is learn about TiVo stream and its not working for me. Could it be because I have a slow WiFi internet connection. After pressing pause for instance it can take up to 5 seconds for it to pause. If code is input correctly will clear banner quickly work while viewing the stream video? I keep trying code once and then going to live tv to test it because I'm also afraid if I do code twice the second time it will turn code off but I don't know if it works like that.
I have Comcast and I went to http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/tv-listings#
to look at the tv guide info after inputting my zipcode because my s4 hadn't connected to the internet for a while and my TiVo guide data was blank. On this Comcast website I was surprised to find a handful of new HD channels in the 800's most notably- Nat geo wild 806/ BBC 810/ history 2 805. For these channels "to be announced" is all is shown in the guide. Should I call TiVo nd report problem? I'm in sf bay area
Pardon me for doing a whole season thread, since there don't seem to be too many threads for this show.
The actor that plays Brick sure has grown up. And I was really sad (but not in a sad for him way, not that they wrote this in) that they seem to be ramping up his ticks to OCD level.
I'm also hoping we're done with Chris Kattan. I have never liked him.
Anyone else watching?
Replacing a failing hard drive in my TiVo Premiere. It's so far gone that I have to borrow a drive. That means lugging a PC to my Mom's and tearing her Premiere apart and copying her drive to a new one.
I have several PCs available for the job. And I don't want to spend 30 hours over there.
So, if I take a fast PC (i.e. Core i7, etc.) vs a slow PC (Pentium 4 3.4GHz) will the transfer speed be affected?
Also, how long would the copy process take approximately?
I have a Series 2 1400060 and a Series 2 2400080. Neither are working due to, I believe, bad hard drives. I see various Tivos for sale on Craigslist, for instance, a Series 2 TCD649080 for $30. Can I take the drive out of the TCD649080 and put it into one of my Tivos? Is there a way to know what will be compatible with my Tivos?

I gettin call interrupted fail 20 secs in on downloading tv guide. No settings changed on Tivo but this is the first time I have tried to download a guide since mid september 2012 so Tivo is out of guide and so 'dead' at the moment
A test call is 'successful'.
The phone line is ok, its also the line for my broadband and no problems there. I don't run both at the same time btw, the BB is physically disconnected when I connect the tivo to make the manual call, usually every 3-4 days
This may seem an odd arrangement but its just down to the fact that I dont have enough wires to connect Tivo and BB to line at same time.
Any thoughts please?
I can't seem to watch live tv, just now playing list. It just has message "searching for signal from cable box"
I want to set up Tivo in different rooms in my house and be able to view programs recorded on one DVR in either room in the house. One Tivo will be in the living room with the cable modem and router next to it so I can run a coax cable from the cable outlet to the modem and Tivo if needed and run an ethernet cable between the router and the Tivo. The second Tivo will be in another room where I cannot run a coax cabe from the router to the Tivo. How do I set this up?
Ok the new XL4 is cool but what happened to the OTA option? Some us of like to have the ability of OTA and its super clear signal and also the secondary channels....
Rather then buying the 1 TB "DVR Expander" for $199.00 my thought was to buy a Western Digital 3TB drive for $149.00 and buy a cable. Guess what? Can't buy the cable anywhere. I checked Weaknees and didn't see it. A couple questions..
Can you attach a 3 TB Western Digital to the tivo with no problems? (via the eSata port, not looking to open it up)
Where can I buy a cable that has the connection for the WD HD (sorry i don't know the name of that connector) on one end and the eSata connector that goes into the tivo on the other end?
Cablevision and the CW are still in dispute so I went to iTunes and the Pilot is available for free!
Will watch soon, but has anyone else seen it. Apparently the ratings were good but the reviews mixed.
In this thread
a discussion has come up concerning the sudden failure of large numbers of pushes in pyTiVo where most of the queued pushes fail. HAs anyone with TiVoDeskTopPlus been experiencing failures when transferring h.264/MP4 files to the TiVo?

Cold open was pretty good, that water gag was funny.
Holy **** that monologue was one of the best performances I ever remember seeing from a host.
I had no idea she could sing.
I got zoomed by the Gillette commercial. My brother texted me that he thought it was a riot and I must of missed something. So Jerry was in the commercial, so what?
Christina did a phenomenal job in The Californians, really great job on the accent. Tech Talk and GUAODB were hilarious.
Good WU, that Arianna impression is just awesome, Jean K Jean very good as well.
Man I gotta give Christina a lot of credit for showcasing her singing in a second skit, the girl can sing. Is she known for her singing?
Anyone else get the weird cut at the end of Hell-Oween? The Principle was still going and they put up the graphic over him, then cut to commercial.
Wow that was one real solid show, Christina was an excellent host.
My TiVo seems to have rebooted yesterday, and may have new software. It says the software is 188.8.131.52-01-2-74-8.
I had two problems. One I think I fixed, by resetting the code to SLOW DOWN the speed of the fast forward on the second bar. It was way too fast for any reasonable viewing.
The other is odd.. it seems now, on some playback of TiVo shows, and also on LIVE TV, the closed captioning is OUT OF SYNC. I tried checking settings on the SONY BRAVIA TV, and seems ok there. There's several seconds of text on the screen scrolling by, and the action on screen is ahead --by probably 5 or 10 seconds. Weird, and it used to be in perfect sync.
I tried regular broadcast show, and it seems there too. One commercial played and it seemed in sync. Again, odd. The shows where it is worst is on football games on ESPN HD channels, if that means anything.
Any suggestions or help, e-mail me please.
Poor guys will probably take quite the ribbing next time they hang out with their TV writer buddies. On last night's episode, they showed some cops reviewing security camera footage...and when they zoomed, the footage got grainier and less focused!
Silly writers don't realize yet that on TV shows, security cameras have infinite zoom.
Hello all - Does your closed caption work on you Ipad when you watch a show that you have downloaded? I have downloaded a total of about 100 shows to my Ipad first generation and the newest Ipad. The closed caption button on the screen does not turn on or off. I called Tivo today and they do not know why it would not be working. Any ideas?
My old (HD 20-hr) NEVER sees my new (premier) box:
Both are on the same network & subnet.
Both can be pinged from a workstation, and both connect to Tivo service.
Both are wired ethernet.
Both are manual IP, I don't use any DHCP on the network.
Both are re-named and MRV-enabled at Tivo.com.
Both have been restarted multiple times in the weeks since installation.
The new premier always sees the old HD, but what I really need is for the old HD to see the new one. Without it, I can't see the premiere programs on my good TV...thanx
I'm using my first TiVo (Premiere XL4) and I have a few questions after using it for a couple of days:
1) Some of my guide listings are empty. Why is that? I'm using a cable card and it seems to be working fine, and 95% of the guide is populated, but certain channels or even certain items are just blank for seemingly no reason. I've forced a TiVo network update and they are still empty.
2) TiVo suggestions are really neat, but I don't want it to record any SD programs or any SD channels. Is it possible to customize this?
