The option to create the Season Pass is there but...
Trying to make a season pass using Tivo remote. When I go to edit pass options, the little spinning circle center of Tv screen spins for 5 seconds then it dumps me back to the show's details. Won't schedule the pass.
Trying to make a season pass using iPad app. I notice in the options it says channel "null". When I press Ok, I get Error 0x30046 and won't confirm that it's scheduled. Just makes me press Ok to exit the error message.
I can create a pass for the show(s) that air right before/after on that same channel just fine. I can create passes for this time slot on other channels just fine. It's just this show this channel.
I'll do a reboot tonight. Then try again in the morning...
Does anyone know if TiVo ever plans to have a buffer longer than 30 minutes? The HR24 I had from DTV had something like 90 minutes. Heck, even the Series 2 DVR40 I had years ago could be "adjusted" to 90 minutes with no issues.
Did anyone watch this? (It first aired Wednesday, June 13 on NBA TV.)
I just watched it tonight. As an NBA fan (and Chicago Bulls fan) since the late 80's, of course I was all over the Dream Team when they were playing, so I thought this was a real treat. And it was good simply as a documentary work, with a lot of great behind-the-scenes footage, and participation from many of the athletes including Jordan, Bird, and Johnson. They were fascinatingly candid, from Jordan and Pippen even today talking with dislike about Isiah Thomas, to most of them still carrying the competitive spirit that refuses to acknowledge that another player is better than them. And it was a thrill to see some of the footage of the legendary Monte Carlo scrimmage from right before the Games started. That game has been the stuff of legends for 20 years and we finally got to see a little bit of it.
Some of my other favorite parts:
- John Stockton strolling with his family through Barcelona, introducing himself to American tourists who never recognized him.
- Mike Krzyzewski revealing that Chuck Daly threw the inital scrimmage that the Dream Team lost to the US college players -- a brilliant strategy.
- As a Bulls fan, Jordan and Pippen destroying Toni Kukoc. I liked him as a Bulls player, but this was prior to then and I remember their vendetta (really against GM Jerry Krause, as Jordan said in this movie) distinctly.
- The players agog at the topless beaches in Monte Carlo.
- Seeing footage of vintage Jordan. Ah, memories.
I am new here and new to TiVo (have had it for 2 weeks now). I have done quite a search on this site for the answer to my question about space conflicts. I have also done a Google search, so I know what the answer was (mostly from 2010 and back); I just don't know if this is still the case (with this new tivo premiere in 2012).
That being said:
I have an RCN Tivo Quad (as they call it); it is a Premiere with 4 tuners (that's all I know so far).
I watch a lot of recorded tv (prior dvr; now tivo). I have tons of shows set on Series Manager. I also set single shows/episodes/movies; and other random things.
Wednesday night (june 13) I tried to set some single episodes of a show. After the 2nd single episode record attempt I got the message of a Conflict and that because of my space some of the episodes on a Season Pass show (totally diff. show) may not record on June 25th. Mind you, my tivo space was only 22/23% full.
Google search told me that there is no way around this :down: and my further interpretation was that even though the message will continue to annoyingly pop up, as long as I truly have space everything will record as scheduled.
Is this true?? Is there no way around the message?? Am I all good as long as, regardless of the forever message, I have enough actual space??
Any answers as soon as possible will be helpful so that I can call RCN back immediately and tell them not to bother sending out a tech, who is actually scheduled to come out this Sunday. Should he still come? or is it not necessary? :confused:
By the way, i did not know whether I should post this here or in the Premiere subforum.

I have had TiVos since 2002 and loved the service and products ... well, until today. I bought an Elite (XL-4) 93 days ago and have had a couple of problems (disk glitch and audio issues I am still testing) and on advice of TiVo support, held off on purchasing the extended service (they thought sending it in under initial 90 warranty better than extended warranty).
I set a reminder to order the warranty no later than 90 days after purchase but missed it and when I called today (93 days) was told no exceptions. Bad policy, bad business. I have a faulty TiVo and no warranty! Can't share any love today! Partly my fault but still...
Color me displeased!
Jeez, it is SO BORING watching Michael get outwitted every step of the way by every Big Bad he ever meets, year in, year out. When is going to learn to just pick a moment when the BB isn't threatening his family and friends, put a bullet in his brain, and deal with the consequences as they occur? It CAN'T be as bad as bending over for the BB, year in, year out.
Has anybody else had this happen? Does it indicate a problem?
Yesterday, while I was watching tv in my living room, I went to click back into the recorded show I was watching before and suddenly all the colored lights on the front of the Tivo blinked on and then off, then it restarted itself.
That went without incident and, fortunately, I was not recording at the time so nothing was interrupted except the 30 minute buffer on both tuners. It did change the channel on one tuner so that both tuners were on the same channel when I was back up. That seemed kind of odd.
My Premieres are only about 3 months old. The living room one (same one) was having problems getting stuck at first (to the extent that I would have to restart it, or sometimes it ended up restarting itself) but nothing major and it seemed to work itself out and hasn't happened since the beginning.
A friend turned me onto this show and said I just HAD to watch it.

They basically follow around these 3 people who work for a property management company and evict people from residential and commercial properties.
Almost immediately my "spidey senses" were going off as it reminded me of Operation Repo on TrueTV and how that is fake.
The only thing that almost had me convinced was the ever presence of police, so I went internet searching and of course found out it's just as fake as Operation Repo. Nothing but reinactments of actual stories.

Transferred my season passes from my tivohd via the online season pass manager to my new elite. Season passes set up as new only. Now I am getting old episodes along with the new ones. Also, I am getting multiple versions of the old version.
Example: -Fairly legal recording episode right now called shattered - first air date 5/18/12. Weird thing is that it recorded it on 5/18. So not only is the new not working but the same episode in 30 days isn't either.
Is this a bug from the online season pass manager? Does the elite look at the new flag or the first air date? Any one else have this happen?
It doesn't have a "new" icon next to it for some reason. And my SP is set for record all new episodes.

I am a longtime TiVo lover, and I recently purchased the new XL4 Elite to replace my Premier, which I placed on another tv in the house.
I have run into a consistent issue with certain channels pixelating and dropping of channels. I have worked with my cable company to troubleshoot. I have swapped ou the cable card and had Cablevision run a new line from the pole to my TiVo XL4 and still I run into these same pixelation issues.
Sometimes I have noticed when I am recording a channel, I will completely loose the channels around it. As I have already replaced the cable card and redone all connections, I am left thinking that I have a defective TiVo. Another reason I believe this might be true is my old premier never had any issue while hooked up in the same exact spot.
Can u offer any advice?

OK so this is what I have done so far to address the issues...
1st thing I did was call TIVO, of course they said it must be a cable company issue. So the second thing I did was yank out the old cablecard and get a brand new one. Once I had the cable company bind the cablecard, I checked and discovered I was having the same issue with pixelation and occasional loss of the entire channel. (BTW the issue appears to be aggrivated when at least one of the tuners is recording on another channel...wierd).
Next, I called Cablevision after they ran their own tests, they agreed to dispatch technicians to the house to take a look. They were very nice(one of them is a new tivo owner), they actually ended up running brand new cable all the way from the pole into the tivo. Everything appeared to be great until this evening, the pixelation returned, on the same channels!
-Now I'm getting angry, I call Tivo back and tell them I have tried every possible fix through the cable company and still have the same issues (Issues BTW that HAVE NOT HAPPENED on the other 2 yr old Premier box in the house, which used to sit in the same spot hooked up to the same wire as my new XL4).
Now Tivo tells me that mabe it is the Tivo Box, particularly because I noticed the issue tends to be agrivated when recording other channels. So tomorrow I go to Best Buy to exchange for a brand new XL4.
I really thought it was a signal issue, the DVR diagnostic screen continues to show RS Uncorrected Errors in the thousands, but mabe it really is just this damn XL4

I got my Elite 2½ months. Every other day or so when I select a recorded program there will be no sound. If I turn the TV off then back on the sound comes back. I have not had this problem with Live programs. I do have the Spring Update. Is this a known problem?
I don't have this problem with my TivoHD boxes.
Anyone have a problem like this? When I fast forward through commercials, I find the unit is not responsive to commands to resume normal play speed. Both hitting the play button and hitting the 4th FF blink the blue light, but either aren't received or aren't recognized. I will hit it 5-10 times before it will catch. And then, of course, I need to use the 8 second back button many times to get back to the beginning of the segment. Very frustrating.
I've tried replacing the battery and holding the remote high in the air.
I'm looking to sell my Premiere (45 hour) with the extended warranty that covers the unit till 1/2014. I am switching to satellite so I no longer need it. I have 2 options available.
Option 1: Buy the Premiere for $60 plus cost of shipping and I will transfer the service to you for the remainder of my plan, which is up 1/2013. You will have to pay the service charge of $19.95 till that time, then you can switch the plan with a new commitment after that.
Option 2: Buy the Premiere at $100 plus shipping, with no existing plan.
Comes in original box, with all accessories. There are no problems with the Premiere whatsoever.
Any idea why my folder in My Shows for my PC Movies is gone? I confirmed Tivo Desktop is running, I toggled the setting to Beacon/ and Bonjour but I am still not seeing it.
Any thoughts, I can not play Music, Video's or Pictures from my PC... but Tivo Desktop Manager is running and I can transfer files from the Tivo to my PC.
I'm looking at getting a Tivo Premiere (currently have a Tivo HD). One of the coolest features of the Premiere is the Multi-room streaming. I wondering if there is any software out there for Windows than can PRETEND to be another Tivo Premiere box. That way, I could stream to my PC.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

Anybody know what the cause of this error screen? I see it maybe once every 2-3 days. If I hit "clear" on the remote, it goes away; however, it's annoying that it's happening at all.
I have Comcast in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm using a Premier box with multi-stream cable card.
Does anyone know of stand-alone media player (such as the WD Media Player) playing the .tivo files?
If I convert it to mkv using VideoRedo, does it retain the 5.1 Dolby Digital surround audio?
