My situation is that I've made some highlight "reels" from the NBCOlympics full event replays on my PC - raw feed videos that are only available for streaming from their website - devoid of all the repackaging, lol.
The program I used to make the recordings, Screen Recording Suite
saves the file in .WMV format, but I was able to have it save at 10000 kbps, 29.97 fps, 48kHz mp2 audio to make it easiest to convert (they include a very robust conversion utility) into 720p mpeg-2 video for frame accurate editing with VideoRedo and Womble DVD Video Wizard.
Once the editing is complete, I hope to compress it further into h.264 format that I can push via pyTivo to our TiVoHD's without the Tivo having to re-encode.
Can someone please direct me to one of those pages that specify which video profiles meet that criteria?
BTW, I've found Screen Recording Suite to be one of the easiest and best ways to record full screen video of my PC display. It uses hotkeys to start, pause, screenshot, and save everything on the screen without getting in the way, which is very convenient.
