I currently have 2 dual tuner Premieres (1 monthly, 1 lifetime) & a lifetime S3 (OLED) unit. I recently got a hold of another working S3 (OLED) TiVo that has no service on it and trying to figure out what I can maybe do with it in terms of upgrade offers.
I'm seeing various offers here telling about transferring an S3 subscription to a new Premiere. Or TiVo offering a lifetime on the S3 for $99 if I get a Premiere 4. Can't remember it exactly, but in the past, I think TiVo offered trade-ins programs for these S3s if they weren't working where I actually send them the unit and they send me some sort of replacement (either S3 or an S4 w/ additional money)
My monthly Premiere unit comes up for renewal here in May & I am possibly interested in replacing it with a Premiere 4 so am intrigued by some of these offers. Any suggestions, recommendations or opinions on what I could do or a direction to possibly go here that involves this newly acquired Series 3?

I don't know how to handle an episode that doesn't make me want to curl up in a ball and cry. Felicia Day was awesome, as usual. They can keep bringing her back.
Dean and Charlie talking strategy with her board was hilarious. He's such a closet nerd. Then how excited he was to get into costume but pretending not to be. Jensen is so great at that type of acting.

I wish I could copy a channel list from one unit to another. It is such a hassle to manually set each unit up with the channel list. It would be great to be able to do it on line!
Hmmmm...so I don't know if I should be worried, but both of my cablecards started a firmware upgrade about 30 minutes ago and I'm not sure if they're stuck. It downloaded the new firmware and started doing its thing, but now I'm at a cable card screen that says, "Failed to load 'CableCARD///apps/OobFdc.html' ".
After about 5 minutes or so, it goes back to live TV for a few seconds before another TiVo message pops up saying the cablecard is upgrading it's firmware. It doesn't download data again, only shows the same error message.
Any other TWC users in NYC experiencing this?
Hello, I've been fighting this problem now for a very, very long time now and have had every tech that Time Warner can offer over my house multiple times with zero resolution to the problem. At this point they won't even come over my house without charging me for a support call.
Usually the issue goes away after a month or two but i just can't take this anymore.
My problem is this:
I have three Tivo Premiere XL boxes. All of them are using Cable Card M. Here is how my problem manifests itself:
The cable signal begins to pixelate and then overall the Tivo stops being responsive to all commands (or the commands get very delayed). The video will then become stuttery - indicating drop outs - but the audio will be fine. Then the box will invariably reboot and when it comes back to life the signal will be fine with no issues for between five minutes to an hour before it comes back again, forcing the TiVo to reboot once again.
This happens on ALL THREE TIVOS. They are each in different rooms with different lines run to them. I have had Time Warner here who claims that the signal level is perfect. They went to the pole and even replaced the line from the pole to my house.
Last time this occurred (today) I recorded the issue on my cell phone where I was able to get into the DVR diagnostics screen before my remote commands stopped being recognized. SNR was around 37db and signal strength was about 72 during the stuttering but it normally hovers around 92. Can anyone give me any insight?
I've run all the kickstarts and the smart tests and everything seems to be fine. Last time I had a Time Warner supervisor tech here he claimed I had three bad tivos, which i think is ridiculous since the three tivos are perfect but all seem to break at the same time, then the problem goes away on all three of them at the same time too.
I'm at my wits end. I want to keep my Tivos and hate time warner but i'm afraid i might have to get rid of all three of these (since AT&T - the only other cable provider in my area isn't TiVo compatible).

I have a Tivo Premiere TCD746320 and the hard drive is completely dead. I've been doing some research as to how to repair it but everything I've found so far is basically copying an existing drive and InstantCake doesn't have software for my model. I have a bunch of hard drives that I could put in it if I could find an image or software for it and really don't want to pay $100-200 for a replacement drive just because it has the software knowing that the hard drives I have would work.

Expecting XL4 tomorrow, going to use CableCard currently installed on TiVo HD. Evidently, need to re-pair this card because I subscribe to all premier channels. Read a lot about successful automated pairing over telephone but could never find this magic number to call.
Found 888-897-7499 but this is for Verizon set-top only because it requests activation number that comes with letter from Verizon.
Sure, I can call Verizon but hope the automated service will save time and nerves.

Not sure exactly how to describe my problem. Basically I had 2 episodes of Family Guy recorded as TiVo suggestions. There was also 1 new episode recorded. I deleted the 2 suggestions and noticed it still showed 3 episodes in my Family Guy folder. There are blank spots where the 2 deleted episodes should be. I can highlight the blank spots, but pressing the delete key does nothing. Also if I attempt to open the Family Guy folder on the iPad TiVo app the app crashes. Any idea on how to get them to fully delete?

It seems that since the regular premier can record 2 shows on OTA or 2 shows on cable, it would suggest that each tuner is a dual-tuner. So why can't it record 4 shows, 2 OTA + 2 cable?
I doubt there is hardware limitation. Since the premier 4 can record 4 cable shows, it doesn't seem like the HDD or interface would bandwidth limited.
I wonder if Tivo would be releasing another version of premier to do what I suggested, 2+2 recording. I would think it's just a software tweak to make this happen.
I have two (2) HD XL (150hrs) Model TCD658000. I think the hard drives might be going bad. I get reboot lockups and gray screen. The capacitors look good. I copied the hard drive images a few years ago after getting the units using WinMFS.
What WD hard drives are compatible? I read warnings about WD green hard drives. All of the threads I read are a catch all and out dated.
I would like advice on what 1TB hard drives to get and will WinMFS restore the image to a new hard drive without any problems?
Tivo has some killer good deals on equipment right now.
What's going on?
Is this stuff obsolete and being cleared out for bigger and better models?
Should a prospective buyer wait and see what's down the pipe? Or take advantage of what is being offered now?

dropping a wrench in the hole was a bit funny, something so simple could have cost them big money but my 1st thought was big magnet, i just didnt realize they actually had one lol. my bet it it's just for things like this and the drama was so needless
i love when the supervisor comes on site to yell at the guys. also the landowner coming to see them seems really forced and out of place. i didnt hear about any signs of litter, speeding, firing guns or anything like that other woman had a few years ago
I have 2 DTV tivos (sd), both receivers show a 96/97 strength for TP30, yet one gets breakup (live and recording) on Fox, the other does not. Other DN's record fine.
I've been messing with DTV since the initial trials in MS and LA but this old boy be lost.

Newbie to Premiere and HDUI here, with Season Pass query.
On the SDUI (well, on my TiVO HD, anyway), when you set up s season pass, there would be a screen to tell you if there were conflicts, and then tell you what wouldn't record and what would. On the HDUI on Premiere, it will tell you what conflicts there are that it will NOT record, but does NOT tell you when it record the program instead (assuming there are other showings). If you then go to the TO DO list, it will show when the program is being recorded, but am I missing something on why it doesn't show when without having to check the TO DO list? Is this a fluke in the operating system? Sorry if that sounds confusing, but it does make sense. And yes, I know if I don't like it, I can always use the SDUI.
Since activating my Comcast service in November, I have spent the past 10 weeks (ok, i took some time off during the Holidays) attempting to get an M-card for my Tivo unit in Philadelphia from Comcast.
The "customer service" agent -- i use the term loosely -- even played the S-card: saying that Hurricane Sandy had so direly affected the region that they couldn't get me a cable card... HA!
At one point i went to a suburban office (in Willow grove, 15 miles outside the city) and they said they had M-cards, but couldn't give one to me because my cable was for center-city Phila. and they weren't compatible.
OK, here is my question. If i get a cable card from this suburban office (through my employer's comcast account with the suburban Comcast) can i just take the card and then activate it from my home account, even though it is a different Comcast "region"?

I bought two (2) TiVo TCD658000 HD XL (150 hours HD) in 2009 and now they are both rebooting and hanging on boot up with a gray screen. I was going to upgrade to the new Premiere just to find out that TiVo no longer supports ATSC over the air. It's now cable only? I went with TiVo to get away from the cable companies! Who was the stupid idiot that decided to get in bed with the cable companies at TiVo?

Am I reading this right? Lifetime service for only $49? And if it is legit, how exactly does Lifetime work? What happens if the DVR needs to be replaced? What if I upgrade?
