I've been getting some really severe pixelation on some of my recordings, some lasting for several minutes. How do I start to narrow down if it's is a problem with my premiere, my cable card, and or the signal form my cableco?
They actually found an actor with a glass eye.
I have an HD Tivo hooked to an OTA antenna outside. Everything has been great for 3 years. Lately, I've been experiencing quite a bit of pixilation on my 1tb hard drive that I installed three years ago. It happens once a minute or so watching live tv or recorded events (but not on all channels when watching live tv). I'm running the tivo kickstart code 54 overnight. I was wondering if Netflix does not have any pixilation, can I rule a hard drive problem out?
My next steps are to:
-test hard drive with western digital diagnostic tools in addition to checking the coax cable/splitter outside.
-Put original HD back into tivo and see if this occur
-if none of above cures problem and HDs are good replace the coax cable and splitter
-Any other options or ideas?
Wow, I am so enjoying the All Stars season. These routines are just awesome.
My favorite dancers are Kelly&Val and Shawn&Derek. For entertainment value though, no one is better than Kirstie and Maks!
I still can't stand Sabrina, but she is a great dancer. I love Louie, but I'd be happy to see Sabrina go home this week. And she can take Bristol with her. I never thought I'd feel sorry for Mark, but I really kinda do.
Double elimination week, eek!
Well, the previews had something that should make some people awfully happy...
Tivo quality control has gone down the tubes. I bought a Premiere about a year ago. Big mistake. Hard drive went bad after 6 months. Tivo replaced the unit... at a cost of $150. That was a couple months ago. The replacement unit is now making the loud clicking HD noises that the orginal unit made, before the HD went south.
Why is that my old Series 3 Tivo is of better quality than the newer Premier? You'd think that, with time, they'd improve on the quality of their systems.
It seems that overnight, all the pictures from my shows and recordings and "suggestions" have disappeared. None of them have any pictures, nothing in the search has pictures either. I'm curious to know if there is a way to bring them back. I have done the following to try and bring them back: Did a service connection, successfully connected, pictures did not come back. Did a TiVo reboot.
I am utilizing a TiVo Premiere 320GB model. I have owned this TiVo for approx two weeks now. I am in Zip Code 08110, Comcast Digital Cable of Garden State.
I have attached a photo demonstrating the issue, I hope it helps!
Just started viewing the ep and didn't see a thread, so thought I'd go ahead and start one since I have the ep title handy.
. (Also Whitney.)
Seems like good news, perhaps. With NBC's ratings in the tank on at least two other nights, they can't afford to launch another night that goes immediately down the loo. So a premiere with more promotional effort behind it, or one on another night entirely, sounds like a possibility.
I'm directing and occasionally editing a show on a local analog public access channel. When I record it on a TiVo through a tuning adapter, the TiVo has the resulting recording flagged as copy protected, preventing me from transferring it to my computer for burning to DVD. The producer is not asserting copy protection on it. There's no contract involved permitting them to do it. It appears that it is the Tuning Adapter itself that is asserting copyright and copy protection on analog programming passing through it, and it seems to do it for all analog programming, including content from analog broadcast channels (but not the digital versions).
We'd rather people be able to share our show as televised and use Tuning Adapters to enjoy their full cable line-ups, and not make it an either-or proposition or invest in otherwise unnecessary additional hardware. Is there anything we can do to correct this situation where Time-Warner Cable's Cisco Tuning Adapters are asserting unwanted copy protection on their zero-creativity digital encodings of our work?
I've been using Tivo Desktop Plus for a long time now and everything has been working smoothly. I tried everything I could think of- restarting Tivo box, resetting media access key, etc. The signal strength is great but the PC folder is not showing up in Now Playing.
The only change I've made recently that could be affecting things is I installed a VPN on my PC. However, the PC is not showing up on "Now Playing" even when I'm not connected to the VPN network. Any ideas?
Notice that the new 'YouTube' option now shows up under the 'Find TV, Movies & Videos' menu, but now all entries usually listed under 'Browse TV & Movies' are no longer displayed. I have tried reconnecting to the Tivo service and rebooting the unit several times to no avail. Is anyone else experiencing this anomoly?
Two weeks ago Time Warner finally added the NFL Network. I cannot make it work on either TV through Tivo. Both boxes have cable cards and they tell me it's not their problem.
Anyone had issues with this?
I've restarted both boxes; done the programming from ground zero and still nothing. I'm hesitant to pull out the cable cards - they were installed by TW.
I've been waiting years for this channel and nothing.
I'm also sick of the cable card losing sound frequently. Seems we need a better alternative.
I have a Premier 4 that is a few weeks old and I have just now started to really get the time to watch some shows from Comcast On Demand. The problem is, about 80% of the time, I get some sort of error saying to try again or contact Comcast and I cannot access the show that I am trying to watch even though it is from a channel that I have access to. There is no consistency as to specific channels or shows. Usually it does not work but sometimes it does. Naturally, I contacted Comcast about his three times and all 3 times I was given the run around and told that the M card is provisioned correctly and that it must be a problem with the TiVo. If anyone has any information on this issue, or has had a similar problem and found a solution, please post back. I remember reading a thread a while back about people having their On Demand not work at all and a Comcast rep here on the forum fixing the issue, but I cannot find the thread and my issue isn't the same as it works sporadically.
Got an e-mail this morning from Tivo saying that Xfinity On Demand was now available! Am in Olympia, WA. It's not showing up yet, but checked the Tivo web site, and it looks like it has launched in Western Washington, Portland, OR, all of Colorado, parts of Kansas City, and a number of other areas. Is anyone else seeing this yet?
Wow, wow, wow!
Color me as sucked in.
I was on the edge of my couch as Carrie was running from the gunshots.
I'm currently listening to to "No Easy Day" about the UBL(sic) kill. We gotta believe the writers did, too.
The Red One and Red Two scenario is pretty much how he describes it, although they didn't have different missions for the two teams. The SEALs do drop in with small teams and get out intact. They had instructions that it was not to be an assassination "if he's naked and unarmed."
BUT he does say that the briefing rooms are radio shielded faraday cages so even if you did smuggle in a phone or transmitter, it wouldn't work. So much for Brody's warning.
They also mirrored how the SEALs gathered all of the computers, notebooks CDs and thumb drives from UBL's house in what the CIA said was an intelligence bonanza.
Some WTFs: How did Carrie color her dyed brunett hair back to blonde so fast? That wasn't a wig, it was hair dye. Even a guy knows you have to die it back and you don't get the black roots and highlights from a bottle. Besides, didn't she enter the country as a brunette with that hair color and picture on her passport?
Why didn't Carrie's escort Major go with her?
She also should have covered ALL of her hair to go to the mosque. Notice that the other women had no hair showing.
Most importantly the end. Saul has the Brody confession. WTF: Why would it be with a Hesbolah guy in Beruit? Wouldn't Abu Nazzir have had an agent in DC pick it up and get it to him?
Now we gotta guess for dramatic purposes that Saul is either the mole or for whatever reason doesn't turn over the SD. In the previews we have "He knows the real story" and Brody kills somebody in a bloody attack and buries him in a ditch. Gotta be Saul who hasn't told anybody. How Saul could have been the mole while giving the green light to the hit is a mystery.
The twins impressed me this week. I think they would get under my skin if I had to be around them for long, but they do have a great attitude and work ethic and they seem to be smart. I hope they go far in the race.
Too bad about Amy and Daniel. Another good team screwed by a bad cab driver.
I like the show so far this season - off to a good start!
When "TGS" returns from hiatus, Liz (Fey) is alarmed by Jack's shockingly bad fall programming line-up. Meanwhile, Jenna (Krakowski) prepares to be the ultimate bridezilla, enlisting a reluctant Liz to be her maid of honor, and Kenneth (Jack McBrayer) and Hazel (Kristen Schaal) invite Tracy (Tracy Morgan) to a dinner party.
some good laughs.
like the "tanking nbc" premise for the final season, which should make for some absurd story lines.
where do i sign up for the Homonym?
