shane would be hard to give up but he should! i think it would have been more interesting if nick wasnt a gentleman and took jess at her word in bed. that would have been atypical of these shows. their bathroom situation always amazes me. it's like grand central in there.
i dont know what will be worse...if they do get together or just torture us with the teasing all season
it looked so bizarre i had to see it. it will never be on top of the list of things i have to watch but it had a few funny moments. i can do without the mouse abuse though.
Just curious to see what other providers are currently using for their Cisco CableCARD OS Version (Firmware). Does anyone know any advantages to upgrading the firmware, other than the fixes listed in the Software Release Notes
? Not that newer is always better though.
Seems that Cox is way behind and running a very old OS Version and possibly downgrading the OS Version, as Cisco started shipping CCs with OS 188.8.131.5201 code in Oct 2012.

I see that Comcast is upgrading to the most recent version now:

I have a Tivo HD and have been using a 1TB WD Expander with it with no trouble for about a year. I recently moved and no longer need my Tivo. I was planning on giving my Tivo to a friend but keeping the Expander. I deleted everything off of the Tivo and Expander with no trouble. I then completely disconnected the Expander and restarted the Tivo. When it gets to the blue "expander is missing" screen, I hit "clear" but nothing happens. I have restarted numerous times. Called Tivo and tried several different options, including the kickstart, but nothing will get me past this screen. The kickstart would not work.
If I plug the expander back in, then the Tivo works fine. But as soon as I disconnect it, I get stuck on the same blue screen. Any thoughts?
jumped through all the hoops to link my tivo with amazon and selected to rent the hd version of the hobbit. FAIL with 'we apologize for the inconvenience, but this program is no longer available. see www.amazon.com/tivo
for more information'. and of course there is nothing on that page of any pertinence and the damm things only been out since tuesday so what does '... no longer available' mean? useless crap. i guess they want to force me to buy just so i can watch at $19.99 instead of rent for $4.99. got news for them, for $19.99 i'm buying the blu-ray or even waiting for the extended blu-ray version which will more-than-likely be cheaper than $20.
i went to the tivo accounts page to try to find out why this happened and it says: 'down for maintenance'. could that be the reason i can't rent it? but it let me link my amazon and tivo accounts and create a pin, so i can't imagine that's the reason.
at the same time yesterday, all three of my Tivo Premieres with Cox cable cards lost the same channels on ALL three Tivos. As well, my cable modem took a hell of a hit, changed its IP address (which hasn't changed for a year), and that's around the same time the Tivos had their channel maps attacked.
Any ideas what would cause three Tivos to lose exactly the same channels, at the same time?
PS, a call to Cox for a re-hit solved nothing

Here is Tivo's explanation on Mini pricing. I agree with the author and still think it's a bit overpriced for what it is though. I think $150 would be more reasonable. But what do I know.... I can't even use it with my 2 tuner Premieres anyway. :)
Ok I am trying to figure out how to program the tivo sling is remote to power on and off my tv , well actually my sound bar, but it will basically be the same. I am doing to so the tivo thinks it is connected to a powered HDMI device.
I have looked around and saw some complicated instructions about jp1.com but before I attempt that whole procedure I want to know if anyone has figured this out yet.
The NBC series Revolution Returns this coming Monday night, March 25th at 10PM. If interested, NBC has posted a recap of the first part of the season at:
And the first minute of Monday's new episode at:
You may have to watch a commercial on the second URL.
The first minute clearly shows the amplifier mounted in the helicopter. I still say that the pilot flies very skillfully for someone who hasn't flown a helicopter in 15 years. :D
I easily and quickly installed new Mini on an Ethernet Network, yesterday. Attempts to stream HD content from my XL4 generated V87 errors and less frequent V69 errors. I did not disconnect or power down my XL4, as the 87 error suggested. Likewise, I wasn't using a wireless connection as suggested by the 69 message. Support chat suggested powering down and restarting the Mini. Curiously, SD content didn't cause the same errors. Thoughts?
I plan on switching to TiVo/Mini setup when (1) dynamic tuner allocation comes along + new TiVo hardware is available or (2) when our current whole-home system dies (Moxi + Moxi Mates)
I have a question regarding MoCa.
Although our current Moxi HDDVR supports MoCA, it cannot act as a bridge/adapter.
Assuming the "new" TiVo hardware will have the same MoCA capabilities as the current TiVo offerings... Can I remove the Netgear MoCA adapter that currently resides next to the Moxi DVR (which will be replaced by the TiVo DVR)?
I was hoping to use the adapter at that location in another bedroom for an additional Mini down the road.
Our current MoCA setup works rather well. We've got three adapters, one at each Moxi/Mate location. I was hoping that the new TiVo would make one of the adapters redundant.
Is this possible, again assuming that MoCA in the new TiVo is implemented/supported the way it currently is?
Thanks for opinions, advice, suggestions, etc.
It's been reported that you can buy a 4 tuner Tivo, connect a Mini to it, then disconnect the 4 tuner Tivo to gain the capability of using the Mini in a household of 2 tuner Premieres. I'm soon to be OTA only, and I have two 2-tuner Premieres and an TivoHD lifetimed. Using the Mini for streaming from 2 tuner boxes is of interest to me.
- Have you tried it?
- If you did, how long have you had the 4 tuner Tivo disconnected?
- Besides not being able to hijack a tuner to watch live tv, have you noticed any issues?
Sigh, I know my Tivos (S3 and Premiere) only keep at most 2 weeks of future program guide, but I sure wish I could set up Season Passes for shows beyond that window. I often see an ad for a show that looks interesting but is scheduled to start a month or so out. I would love to set a SP on the spot so I don't forget, but can't due to limited guide data. Then I forget to write down a reminder and miss the show.....
I have my new Mini set up and working without problems, works great but I do have some questions:
I set the Mini up watching a channel on a HDTV, after about an hour I turn off the TV, the next morning the Mini was in stand-by mode, did this happen because I turned off the TV or does the Mini have a time out if you do not use the Mini remote for some amount of time ?
Under Host Connection info
What does mind availability mean, on my Mini it does say Available
Under SI some lines I assume have no meaning with the Mini
TiVo-To-Go = i,i,i
Zip not set
Program info not available
To use a TP-4 tuner you must first go to the HDUI to set up the tuner after that you can go back to the SDUI if you want, this is only for info. I made this statement.
Is their any reason the Mini has to call home except for software updates ?
Thanks for any help, I am most concerned about live TV going off if the TV is on.
My cable provider, RCN, has just updated me with a Tivo Premiere. The set was too far from my router so the installer attached a wireless adapter. I didn't notice at that time but the wait time for the guide to come up is annoying--a full five seconds of black screen before the channel list comes up. Once on the guide, the list scrolls quickly. When I choose my desired channel, or hit the LiveTV button, again the screen goes black for a full five seconds (I counted) before the channel/signal comes back on.
I thought it might have to do with the wireless adapter, so I ran a long ethernet cable directly from the Tivo box to my router. Same thing. The annoying five second wait. Is this normal for a Tivo box?
Thanks in advance.
Signs you've been on Tumblr too much. I giggled like a 5 year old when they said Megstiel. Seriously Cristina?
And I'm sorry I've never liked Meg but for some reason I really warmed to her this episode just in time for them to kill her off in the most unremarkable way ever. She was the last character other than Sam and Dean that has been around since Season 1. That was a sad little send off for her IMO.
But so much good with her before that. Her and Cas made me smile. "Why are you so sweet on me, Clarence?" and Misha did a fine job in that scene. He's made Cas innocent and slightly flirty without the usual clueless Cas routine. And when Sam said something about her letting 150 innocent people die to buy herself some time her response of "Hi I'm Meg. I'm a demon." was just perfection. I think I might have actually snorted. And I LOVED their conversation outside. I loved they brought up that she had possessed him.
"But remember I spent time in that walking corpse of yours. I know your sad little thoughts and feelings" and just the way she said "thoughts and feelings" cracked me up so much. Then Sam and the look on his face and his "that's creepy" was the best. So yeah pretty much all things Meg in this episode were awesome until she died.
So the one big gripe I have is that they paralleled Swan Song with Dean and Cas because no no no no no. Swan Song is like the number 1 moment of brother moments. That Sam saw the flashes in the Impala and was able to overcome LUCIFER for his brother and their love. NOT EVEN THE SAME THING WRITERS. It literally made me angry. I would have been really happy for that entire scene had it been done in another way. I like that everyone in Dean's life have now been able to overcome possession/mind control for him. He thinks himself so meaningless, so worthless yet everyone around him loves him so much. John, Bobby, Sam and now Cas. I just wish they would have done that differently because it will now forever anger me instead of give me the warm fuzzies I want it to.
And I totally didn't get the LOTR thing at the end. Sadly. But I did like our ending brother feels again. :)
I think that's all I got for now. Maybe more when I watch again.
I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem I'm having with auto-transfers.
I am on a Windows 7 machine and am using version v0p9o of KMTTG. I also upgraded all the "tools" within KMTTG (e.g. Comskip, mencoder, etc.)
When a show completes recording, it does download to my computer fine, however, it does not do any of the other functions (e.g. decrypt, qsfix, ad detect, etc).
The only thing I tried so far was removing KMTTG and downloading a fresh copy. Thinking about it, I don't know if this helped since the program is portable which is to say you don't "install" it.
If anyone has any other suggestions of things I could try or has encountered this problem, I'd appreciate any help you could offer.
My wife complained that the Mini is annoying because if it stays on the same channel for a while it will ask to go into sleep mode.
I tried to explain that she should be watching recorded content so she doesn't have to see commercials and that the remote buttons would keep it "awake", but she has no interest in doing so.
Is this set at something like 90 minutes? Has anyone found an option for it in the menus? I'd like it to at least be as long as a two-hour movie.
I have an XL4 and have always used hardwired Internet going through an Apple Extreme. Now, with two minis I enabled MoCa and my Internet is crawling although the MoCa is working on both boxes. From the wall Comcast installed a 3 way splitter, one goes to the Comcast Modem, another to the TiVo and the third use to go to another TiVo but is not hooked up. Can it matter that the same cable outlet that is being used to go to the input of the modem is also feeding to the XL4 and therefore feeding the MoCa back into the outlets? I called Comcast tech support and they did something last night that brought the speeds back up. However, this morning speeds are down and I am getting 2mps down and 4mps up with MoCa enabled. I turned the MoCa off, made no wiring changes and am now getting 25mps down and 8mps up. Any thoughts?
