I think I know the answer but wanted to ask the question directly.
I have a 4 tuner Premier and a Tivo Stream. I also own an Ipad.
I can successfully transfer shows from the Premier to my Ipad via the stream.
But I have a number of shows on my Tivo Server from years past.
Must I transfer those twice - once from the server to the Premier and then to the Ipad via the stream or is there a way to get the Stream to see the recordings on the server?
I always thought a popular show shouldn't be off for the summer. I get why it's like that for some shows, but don't get it for others.
Do any shows have a sister show that airs during the summer? The only one I could think of was saved by the bell, during the summer they had a series where they worked at a beach club. That works perfectly for school series; winter time they are in school and summer they are on break doing different things/story lines maybe different characters introduced.
I ask because I was watching the walking dead and recently saw a story quoting the head of AMC saying they "see no end in sight" for the series. It seems like a real money maker for them. I think they would want to air more than 16 episodes a year. I'm not saying it has to be the same writers, actors or characters. It would be cool to see the viewpoint from a different group of survivors in a different location. Maybe origin episodes?
I now have a Blue/Teal YouTube interface, Anyone else?
I like it, looks like a few improvements were also added, just wish it was more responsive.
Last weekend I started losing channels, particularly AMC HD and BBC HD, buts others as well. Called twc, they came out fixed the prob, told me I didn't need a splitter, and left after removing if. I have Moca. I added the splitter back and lost the channels within the hour.
Called TiVo who said I must have the splitter, but the type of splitter or coaxial cable itself could be at fault, but could not recommend a new type/brand of splitter, and that I should ask at Best Buy (tivo can recommend Best Buy, but not a brand/piece of equipment that makes their product work)
I have the tuning adapter and a Premiere tivo - I am pulling my hair out - what to do?
I've been using Comcast's On Demand from my Tivo Premier 4 for a couple of months now. A day or two ago, it just disappeared. The other stuff, like You Tube, is still there.
Has this ever happened to anyone else, and if so how was it fixed. I've tried reconnecting to the Tivo service, resetting (rebooting) the device and cold -booting the device all without success. I believe if I call Tivo, the first thing the guy is going to ask me to do is cold-boot (unplug) the device. I really don't want to do that again.
Only ten more months! :(
So does the death of Psycho Clone and Soccer Clone embracing her psycho side mean that we have a new Psycho Clone? Psycho Clone is dead, long live Psycho Clone?
And I guess Mrs. S. was one of the scientists in charge of the original experiment? Clearly, my theory that Mystery Maslany from last week was the original from which the clones were cloned is wrong...unless make-up did a horrible job at making her look older, which would be uncharacteristic. So she's, what, Insider Clone?
It's interesting how ambiguous many of the characters are...not good, not evil, just...complicated. And I love love LOVE how this show lets its characters figure stuff out, instead of everybody just being a bunch of morons who never think to ask questions. They got deeper into things in ten episodes than Lost did in two seasons...and I loved the first two seasons of Lost.
It's gonna be a long ten months...
Oh, and I was specifically watching the camera work when there were multiple Maslanys on-screen. Awesome! There were times when three of them were interacting, and the CAMERA WAS MOVING! And it all looked perfectly natural! We've come a long time from the days when "twin" effects were done by keeping each character on one side of the screen with the camera locked into position.
Cartoon Network. Midnight EDT. First episode is one hour.
This was one of those shows that grew on me as it went on. Not so much for the sometimes corny plots but for the friendship between Merlin and Arthur. The interplay between the two characters and the two actors really made me feel that they were good, loyal friends and not just King and servant. I enjoyed how these two characters played off each other. I'll admit that dust may have gotten into my eyes once or twice during these two hours.
I wasn't all that surprised that Arthur died. I was very surprised that he remained dead. Maybe I should brush up on the mythology.
It's a good thing that Morgana explained that she couldn't be killed by normal means because I kept shouting in my head "Will somebody kill this evil broad, please!" Also, maybe magic users would actually kill their enemies instead of flinging them across the room/cave/forest/etc...
I liked it when Merlin went into full badass wizard mode. I kinda wish it wasn't as Ye Olde Merlin, though.
This show was like a Midieval Smallville but much more satisfying because the lead character wasn't weighed down by lame love subplots.
I live in the Indianapolis area, and have had the Tivo Xfinity on Demand app for many months now. Since it first appeared under "My Shows", the app has always been there. Occasionally it doesn't work when we start it up and try to view a show, but the app itself has never before disappeared.
Yesterday, the app vanished from My Shows. No error, it simply isn't there. Rebooting the Tivo, forcing a connection, waiting overnight did not help. Other network services appear fine. There is no discernable issue with either our cable or internet connections.
We called Tivo, and after about 45 minutes of rebooting, checking our router, etc (which we had already tried), the customer service rep told us our unit had been removed by Tivo from the "Xfinity on Demand" group at Tivo central. Apparently, the last time our unit did its routine overnight connection to Tivo Headquarters, it was mysteriously reconfigured to disable the app on our unit.
The agent told us we should get it back in a few days. (at the 24 hour point it has still not come back)
Has this happened to anyone else?
So I bought a use HD for my Mom. I plugged it it and it booted up fine. However there were recordings in Now Playing so I figured I'd just do a C&DE just to start it over from scratch. However I started that process 2 hours ago and it'a still on that screen. Anything I can do? I plan on leaving it going over night, but at this point I don't have high hopes. So I'm hoping one of you might have a suggestion for me to try in the morning.
Before plugging it in I opened it up to clean out the dust and I checked the capacitors on the power supply. None of them looked even slightly bulged.
HD DVR and a new WD AV-GP 1 TB AV Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, SATA III, 64 MB Cache - WD10EURX .
When it is quiet I can hear a very faint hum coming from my DVR. Is this normal? Could it be the HDD or, perhaps, the cooling fan on the power supply?
Anyone watching this? So far I have only seen the first episode. Does it get better?
Since I got my Stream for Christmas, it's been working great. Now with the latest iOS app update, it's now allowing me to stream shows to either the iPad or the iPhone. I just keep getting an error box that says: "DVR Unable to Stream: Your Tivo DVR is not set up to allow streaming. Please contact your cable provider"
It can still download, it passes the streaming test inside the app, it just won't stream shows, which makes me want to throw it out the window, since one of my main uses was basically to turn the iPad into a second TV.
Over the past hour, I've tried to watch a pre-recorded program. I've been interrupted... four times now... with full screen/audio emergency alerts for a tornado warning in some county that is at least 100 miles away. And those aren't even heading this direction.
I try EVERY button on my remote, and nothing works. I'm locked into the warning for two minutes or so until they finally get bored of talking and release control of the TiVo back to me. Then I have to go back and play the recording, only to be interrupted again 15 minutes later.
My cell phone only bugs me for things in my immediate area, and even then, they allow me to opt-out of certain types of alerts. So I don't need my TiVo chiming in and telling me to panic immediately.
Is there some way to abort an emergency alert so that my TiVo isn't locked up for the whole duration of the message? Is there some way to opt-out of the whole thing so that my TiVo doesn't do the alerts at all?
Unfortunately, it happens too often … our favorite TV shows are unexpectedly cancelled. Some series don’t even finish their current season before the axe comes down; others get cut after a short lifespan. Thankfully, streaming services have started saving shows, like Don’t Trust the B—— in Apt 23, as well as soap operas, and the widely popular Arrested Development. Hulu released the eight unaired Don’t Trust the B— episodes after the show was cancelled in the middle of its season. Don’t be left wondering “What happened inside Apartment 23?” and Continue Reading
Purchased 3 TivoHDs in 2008 ~ one with Lifetime and the other two with monthly service. Now, five years later, my TivoHD with Lifetime service is constantly rebooting. Two TivoHDs with monthly ($9.95) service are fine. All 3 units have been left on 24/7, placed in friendly environmnets, & used about the same. Can not help being suspicous. Any comments?
My tivo is stuck on clearing and deleting everything. went over night still clearing and deleting. The red light has been blinking. I have searched and searched to find a answer but I have found nothing. Any help will be appreciated greatly. My model is tcd140060
Just checked The HDD is spining no clicking.
The renewal is for another 13-episode season, to debut "no earlier than midseason."
I recently got caught up on this show and found it to be pretty good. Leaps and bounds way better than The Following. Glad to see more of it next season.
