I'm waiting on the Mini's appearance before investing in another Premiere, but I'm also interested in an OTA tuner Premiere. Is there *any* chance that Tivo will release a 4 tuner OTA Premiere?

Premier XL4 and cablecards

I live in a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. I purchased a Premier XL4 DVR on 10/13. I installed the box, disconnecting my working Comcast HD box, went through the quick setup and installed the cablecard (Motorola M-Card) that I had picked up at the local comcast office. I then activated lifetime service on the tivo box and called Comcast and had them activate my cablecard. I have yet to receive any live tv. on 10/15 a comcast tech came to our house, attempted activate the cablecard again and when he was unsuccessful installed a new card and called in to have it activated. Still nothing. Yesterday a Comcast tech supervisor came out with 4 more M-Cards and was still unsuccessful in getting Live TV. We got on the phone with Tivo support and the comcast support but after about 15 minutes were still unable to get any signal. all I get on every channel is "Channel not available, contact cable provider" Tivo says its the comcast service and comcast says it must be the box. Know that this box is a new product, I'm wondering if there is something Comcast may not have done other than activating the M-card with the serial number, Host ID and Data ID.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know what I, Tivo or Comcast must do differently to get my box working. I hate to think I paid almost $800 for a paperweight.

I've been enjoying the stream though I still need to frequently reboot the stream and or my router for it to work. I have the Iphone 5 and was wondering when Tivo is going to update the app to take advantage of the new screen size. Do you think there's an issue with the different screen size ratios now that the iphone 5 is 16x9?

Likelihood of holiday discounts?

New TiVo Premiere Ground Loop?

Good evening guys!

Newb but fellow Tivo enthusiest here. Just installed a TiVo Premiere over the weekend. Started with the original Tivo, moved up to the Tivo 2 DT in 2006 and, believe it or not, used it until now.

I recently left my TiVo 2 behind for the Premiere due to absolutely terrible picture quality. I'm using the cable service provided by the city and there is no cable box, just the coax coming out of the wall into the TiVo and then on up to the TV. My buddy got rid of his TiVo 2 and went to the city's DVR box recently. He told me he was tired of his poor video quality as well. I went by his place after the install and his pic is amazing now. All non-HD programming on a Vizio LCD. The city's DVR is cheaper but I really like the format and navigation of the TiVo much better so I'm trying to stick it out with TiVo so I bought the Premiere. I'm not kidding guys, when I had my friends over for the Final Four, I was embarassed. The picture was that bad on the TiVo 2. Didn't think much about it during the summer since we're outdoors most evenings, but with the new fall line-ups, I decided to get my picture back!

A little background, I'm using a Sony LCD TV (52", 1080P with 120Hz) that I bought new in 2009. I'm also using a TiVo wireless adapter via USB. I bought this in 2007 I believe. Standard cable programming through my city, around 70 channels, all non-HD. TiVo is connected to my TV via the supplied HDMI cable.

After installing the Premiere, I instantly noticed two thick horizontal lines that scroll vertically. There are not present during the intro video, only while on TV programming. They weren't present on the TiVo 2. Even with the terrible pic on the T2, I would have remembered them! The lines are also present in the small video window in the upper right corner while I'm browsing the channel line-up.

Did some lurking on here and decided to try some things. Unplugged the Wireless Adapter, no luck. The TiVo is on a surge protector with the TV, DVD player and a small clock. Started messing around with this and noticed that by unplugging the DVD player, the lines almost disappear. They are still there, but very faint. Plug the DVD player back in and they re-appear full force. I then plugged the TiVo into an outlet further down the wall (by iteself) and the lines are just as strong. I'm not having any audio problems with these lines. Bypass the TiVo by hooking the TV directly into the coax at the baseboard or even plug it into the main service box on the outside of the house and the lines are not present and the picture is much better. I should mention that the Premiere has better quality than the TiVo 2 but it wasn't what I expected. My movie channels like HBO and Cinemax are channels 14-18 and they are pretty good. I get into the upper numbered channels in the 60's like Animal Planet and the History Channel and the pic is almost as bad as it was with the TiVo 2. I have noticed that the small picture in picture window (that is shown when you are looking at the channel guide) is amazing, it looks like you bypassed the TiVo and hooked directly up. The two scrolling lines are there, but the pic is great! That is the picture I trying to achieve.

1. Any ideas on chasing the source of the scrolling lines down?
2. Any ideas on improving my pic quality?

Sorry for the lengthy post, just trying to get as much info out as possible.

Season pass shows not added to ToDo list

Recently my tivo hasn't been recording my season passes (some of which I've had recording for years)

When I go to the show in the season pass manager it shows the upcoming shows listed but not set to record. There are no keep until I delete or priority conflicts.

If I click into each upcoming episode I can manually force it to record, and it adds it to the to do list with no problem (no conflict note or anything) But it only fixes it for that episode... Next week or as new episodes are added the problem is back

I have this problem with EVERY SINGLE season pass I have.

What happened? My tivo is nearly useless now.

Please help.

No live but can record

Just had a very strange problem with my TivoHD. I could record and play back shows, see all the Tivo menus and the program guide but no live TV on any of the outputs.

Tivo tech said the cable card menue was saying the multi stream card wasn't programed. Tech called Comcast and they said the cable cards werent on my account. Gave the Comcast tech all the info and they repaired the cards to the Tivo and I got my live TV back.

Turns out when I had called Comcast earlier in the day with a billing question they some how lost the cards. What I dont understand was how I could record programs and play them back but not watch them live.

Lost local channels - T60 and DSR6000 - fixed with 3.5d

Been a member here since 2002, and my last post was back in 2008.

I've been anxiously following the local channel saga for a number of months. Both my Tivos, a Philips DSR6000 and a SonyT60, lost their local channels more than a month ago. I didn't bother calling up DirecTV to complain - it seemed like a waste of time from what others had said. Anyway...

For the first time since 2007, that was 2048 days according to the nag messages, I had both Tivo's make their daily call. They downloaded, and prompted "pending restart" after the call was complete. When restarted, both installed 3.5d and they had their local channels back.

I checked System Information for their latest service data update. The DSR6000 got its update on Sept. 30th, and the T60 on Oct. 1.

Thought it would be good to post my experience here. All is not lost for us old school DirecTivo users.

Remote Record and Delete

It seems I can both choose shows to record and delete recorded show via the Tivo App on my Android tablet. I know I can remotely schedule a recording via Tivo.com. However I have not found a way to delete a recording from the Tivo remotely from my PC (either on the home network or, even better, over the internet). My Tivo is a new Premiere........

Cablevision NJ Channels in the 1000s?

I recently purchased a Premiere Elite with lifetime. I'm a cablevision NJ subscriber with platinum package and tuning adapter

For some reason, my new Tivo keeps trying to record channels in the 1000s that it can't receive. It is very frustrating because the Tivo will more often than not record empty channels like this instead of stuff in the regular range that has actual video! The Tivo seems to lock onto that station but with incorrect information!

For example, if I switch tuners, it will show some other channel's information on the bottom of the screen, but the channel number will show 1184. When I go to the guide, it will show the correct guide information for channel 1184, which differs from what the channel/tuner switch showed for that channel.

Please help! It's very frustrating, and I don't think I should have to go through hundreds of channels and manually deselect them to prevent the Tivo from locking on and recording these non-broadcast channels!

Unable to get TiVo Stream working with OpenWRT router

I have my TiVo Premiere and my TiVo Stream connected to an OpenWRT router and I cannot get the TiVo Stream to successfully connect to the TiVo Service. My router is connected to a host-based Linux firewall that is in turn connected to the Internet, and the router is only running a DHCP server on the LAN side. All of the VLAN features on the router's switch are set to defaults. The Stream gets an IPv4 address easily and I can connect to it on both TCP port 80 and TCP port 49152 from the wired and wireless sides of my LAN. When I connect to it on the latter and access the sysinfo page, I see that the device is in an error state - when I check the Service tab of the sysinfo page I see the following:

I let the iPad app loop for nearly 35 minutes and even tried a remote restart of the device, but it doesn't appear to be successfully connecting to the TiVo Service.

I have already sent back one Stream and received this one, thinking that I had been hit with the same defective units that everyone else got. However, I'm now starting to wonder if my router is screwed up in some subtle way that I haven't been able to detect or if my Linux firewall's iptables rules are too restrictive. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might be missing here?
