Have been on phone support with Tivo for several hours without success. I have a Roamio Pro in family room. Comcast triple play in Chicago Burbs. no wired ethernet throughout house. Tivo support checked my modem and said it wasn't MoCA enabled so i bought their MoCA adapter/POE filter. I have bought 3 minis but only activated one so far. Attempting to install in the basement i used the same coax that was plugged into my comcast box which was working fine. I can get through guided setup on the mini to the point where it looks for the MoCA network. I repeatedly get error C33 (can't connect to network). They had me reboot roamio/mini several times without success. they sent me out a replacement MoCA adapter which i set up today again without success.
The Roamio has network set to MoCA(not using roamio as the hub) and connects repeatedly fine so my MoCA network appears to be working properly.
I am at a loss as how to proceed from here. any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
Can Streambaby play MKV files even if you fast forward to near end of the file? I am trying to do this and video is fine but there is either no audio or audio that does not match.
Some observations about the Roamio basic.
The picture on my HD DVR is much crisper; clearer than the Roamio.
The OTA signal strength is much greater than the Roamio.
Shows transferred from the Roamio to my computer are not compatible with my HD DVR. When I try to transfer a program (that came from my Roamio) from my computer to my HD DVR I get a message that the recording is in HD and my HD DVR isnt.. A red circle with a / through it appears to the left of the program.
But my main complaint about the Roamio is the soft, almost fuzzy, appearance whereas the HD DVRs picture is sharp and crisp.
Rather than hi-jack another thread this question....
Can I watch programs that have been recorded on a unit that no longer is activated? I'm switching from a Premiere to Roamio - have downloaded all the updates, but not activated as yet, but I'd like to keep the Premiere, which has several programs on it I'd like see. Can I do that after it has been de-activated?
What about copying them to the Roamio after de-activation? Can that be done?
Hey all. Is anybody else having a problem haveing streambaby work on their TiVo Elite units? It just stopped working for me last week, but shows up just fine on all my other (non elite) Tivos. I updated java, rebooted everything, made sure its running as a service on my server but it just doesn't show up anymore. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
The NCTA submitted their Q3 report to the FCC dated 10/31/2013 showing a net loss of (9,746) retail CableCARDs with the top 5 MSOs (Cablevision, Charter, Comcast, Cox, and TWC) versus the (647) loss in Q2. If we include the next 4 MSOs in the count, the net loss was (3,000) meaning that MSOs 6 through 9 added approximatley 6,746 Retail CableCARDs in Q3. This relatively flat number compared to the heavy subscriber losses by TWC in Q3 portend a relatively flat q/q gross add number for TiVo in Q3. Comcast once again shared the most detail for their deployments. Comcast deployed 13,578 retail CableCARDs compared to 13,749 in Q2. Comcast's net retail CableCARD losses were (4,864) compared to net retail loss of (609) in Q2.

I just added a Roamio Plus to our home network, and have it and an HDXL receiving network data through a 10/100 switch. From the cable modem we are hard-wired through an Apple Airport Extreme base station (10/100/1000 router) to the 10/100 switch, and then to the two Tivos. Should I upgrade the switch to a 1GB switch?
Thanks for any suggestions!
I own a Moxi, but am considering a replacement with a Tivo.
This week the Red Sox won the World Series on Wednesday, Game 7 was cancelled. Did you notice whether the Thursday night Fox schedule was up to date without the World Series listed? I am curious how fast the Tivo guide is at responding to cancelled sports events like this.
I cant keep this roamio basic. It emits a high pitched Srill whine i cant handle. its a directional whine and it seems to be coming from the right side of the Romeo and I can't hear it unless my head is tilted in certain directions. Anyone know how fan noise compares to basic vs plus? Im wondering if i should swap out my basic for another and hope for a more quiet fan or get a roamio plus. Anyone know how xl4 premier fan compares to roamio plus? The fan in my roamio sounds louder than my xl4 and i was already eextreamly upset with the noise of my xl4. For me every tivo s 3 4 & now 5. Every new version is louder than the one that precedes it! Very unhappy
My series 3 HD DVR had much better signal strength than my Roamio. The HD DVR had 100% on UHF channels but my Roamio only registers 85%.
The lower OTA channels are similarly lower as well.
Is this due to four tuners vs two tuners? If not, what would cause the lower signal strength?
I have setup Out of home streaming with my Roamio Pro. I can stream in the home to the mobile ios app just fine. When out of the home, I can see My Shows on the Roamio Pro on the ios app and I can schedule new recordings just fine.
I have a content filter installed (iBoss Home) that acts as my DHCP server in the home. Even though I have set up the Roamio's IP address to have no content filtering, when the content filter is enabled I cannot get out of home streaming working. I disabled the content filter today and I can stream out of the home just fine.
I have a slingbox that can stream just fine out of the home when my content filter is enabled (and the slingbox IP address has no filtering).
Anyone know if I need to do port forwarding or any other tricks for the Roamio Pro?
I got my Tivo Mini all set up and working and I love everything about it except for one thing im hoping that their is an answer for.
If i am playing a recording and hit the tivo menu then go around the menu a bit how can I easily get back to the recording i have been playing without having to go back through the menu again?
I ask because on my Roamio I know that i can get this result by hitting the zoom button, however on the Mini it seems to just go to live TV
Hi everyone, sort of new on the Tivo Community so I did some searching but got some mixed answers everywhere I looked.
Currently I have a Premier Elite 4 tuner working with a Tuning adapter and CC from Cox in Orange County.
When I go to my NBA league pass I get the error saying this channel not available with Tuning adapter and please contact cable company.
So I call them up and they basically say there is a two way communication issue and we have to have their box to be able to watch NBA league pass.
So just so i am 100% because apparently most of the reps at the cable companies don't know much according the forum. I wanted to get a second opinion and definite answer. Is this something that just can't be worked around and I won't be able to get NBA league pass because of having a TiVo?
I have read about the VOD not working with TiVO and I guess this falls into that category now? Does that mean any sports package will not work?
Thanks in advance.
It's 2013 how can TiVo not have color-coded TV listings in their Guide?
Well, 2, really...
This is the text on the TiVo website today:TiVo Roamio DVRs allow for dynamic tuner allocation, so the tuner is only used when the Mini needs it and is released back to the DVR for use when the TiVo Mini isnt in use. TiVo Premiere DVRs do NOT support dynamic tuner allocation, so any Mini connected to a Premiere is allocated a constantly dedicated tuner and therefore reduces the tuners available for the Premiere DVR.
I thought that DTA was going to include Premiers? (I have an XL4). So, it doesn't, will adding a Mini turn my XL4 permanently into a 3 tuner system?
Next question (same really, just rephrased), if I don't ever want to use my Mini for live TV, will it still turn my XL4 into an XL3?
Confused in CA.
Just got a new Roamio plus and substituted it for my dying DT Premiere last night. I can't get streaming to the ios app to work, can't get transfers from my other premiere to work, getting C133s on the roamio. I just called tivo support, who basically told me to let it sit for a day or two because connections get made in the background that allow the other stuff to work. I've seen enough complaints about streaming and c133 on here to suggest that this is unlikely to be true, but thought I'd ask if anyone else's setup stabilized after 48 hours. (I'm also going to brave the crawlspace and run cat-6 instead of 5ghz wifi to the premiere tomorrow, which I've been meaning to do, anyway. The Roamio is cabled to a Netgear GS108 which is cabled to my router which is cabled to my Charter cable/phone modem.)
I have to say I think the initial setup would be pretty frustrating for a newbie, the "click here to change network settings" arrow doesn't go to the right place unless the ethernet cable has been attached/detached (i.e., I couldn't use that to change the SSID the roamio was using) and I had to do guided setup at least twice, plus download the updates. I get why the decision would made to ensure that a new box has the latest software, but why does that process require me to babysit it and click continue at so many points? And, since that process is such a PITA, why would there also be stuff trickling down over 48 hours that 2-3 forced connections wouldn't grab?
