It shut off and repowered back on twice by itself. After the second time and it started to come back up it just went to a gray screen and then nothing. I've pulled the plug several times and as it starts to come back up, it shows the Tivo screen for about 5 seconds and then the gray screen.
Is it dead?
And if so... what are the replacement suggestions?
If I own multiple Roamio built in stream, Is there a way to choose which TiVo i want to connected to in order to watch tv/movies from? If not does it list all the shows on multiple TiVo's at the same time?
Just upgraded the last 2 of my Series 3 units to a Roamio + Mini. Both have lifetime subs on them, and both are upgraded with newer power supplies and 1TB WD drives with 157 hours HD/1367 SD. One is an S3 and the other is a TiVO HD.
What are they worth if I put them on Craigslist or eBay?
For Sale is my barely used Tivo Wireless N adapter. asking $30.00 shipped. works perfect. reason for selling is i finally got my Moca setup working properly.
located in Orlando, FL.
My husband biught me the tivo roamio for my birthday. We have an antenna type of set up with cable. We don't have a cable box. When I scan the channels I get 281 channels found. When I go to the channel list only 12 channels appear. When I try to watch live tv on those channels, nothin happens. The TiVo says "unable to tune into this channel". We normally get about 100 channels when we attach the cable plug/antenna into the tv itself. It doesn't seem to be reading the channels when we go through the TiVo. I have reset the TiVo twice and rescanned the channels multiple times.
Does that mean TiVo will never work for us?
Is there something I am doing wrong in the set up?
I installed my new Roamio yesterday. No problem...I kept the Premiere activated til I transferred some programs to the Roamio. Did transfer some...was going to do more overnight, but the Premiere was not displaying on the Roamio's MY SHOWS list. It had been there before. Tried the usual...all was checked correctly on the TiVO account page...rebooted the router...both TiVOs appear on the Android app correctly. This happened many months ago...the 2nd TiVO would occasionally appear and disappear from the MY SHOWS lists. Anyone know how to fix this?
BTW, no cable card problems with the new unit whatsoever, for those concerned. Put the card from my Premiere into the Roamio...I picked up all the cable channels but not the pay. Called the Cable Division (or whatever they call it) at Comcast, and they paired it, said to wait 45 minutes and the channels would populate. They populated in less than 30 seconds.
UPDATE: I just noticed a similar thread below, don't know how to move this there....
I have done due diligence and researched all my options for either upgrading my equipment to DirectTV's Genie, considering Dish's Hopper or switching to Roamio plus. Technically and feature-wise I am in the Tivo Roamio plus court.
The only thing really stopping me is the issues I'm reading about the cable card and tuning adapter issues provided by my local Time Warner (Austin). Right now I have 3 DVR's (DirecTV) and dependable equipment/recordings but I really like the idea of no dish and a Roamio with mini's, so it's extremely tempting.
I just don't want to lay out some serious money for equipment and monthly fees and a 2 year commitment if there is real potential for problems.
If you're on the Austin Time Warner system with a Roamio, I'd like to hear your experiences, good and bad with this equipment combination.
Thanks in advance.
Any interest in a lifetimed 652, original 160GB drive, with 2 OTA tuners that work and one cable tuner that works and one cable tuner that doesn't?
And it's not caused by a bad power supply.
I haven't tested it with cable cards or a TA 'cause we're still on analog cable.
Cable tuner 0 can't seem to lock in on one modulation method to demodulate, so it can't lock in on a channel.
As far as I can tell, that's the only thing wrong with this unit.
And by interest I mean you pay me actual money or trade me something I'd really like to have, not just "I'll pay shipping and take it off your hands for the power supply".
Transitioning from a series3 and trying to figure out how to get the same 30 sec skip with fast banner disappear. I see in the settings where I can change the forward button behavior, but making it skip also seems to lock in the behavior of the backup button in a way I'm not liking. The 30 sec rapid forward is pretty irritating.
And I can't seem to get the S-Play-S-Pause-S to remove the banner quickly when I have skip active.
Ami I missing something, or is is just not possible to get back to what I've grown accustomed to?
I have read some reviews on the Mini that have mentioned there were substantial channel changing delays when paired with Premieres (4 and XL4). Is the same the case for the Roamio TiVos? Or does it change quicker for those models?
Sorry for the bad title, couldn't find a way to summarize this properly.
At times, when I turn on TV, the DVR is showing programming from 30 minutes ago on the already tuned station. For instance, I put on a basketball game last night and started watching it. After a bit I realized the game should be over by that time and paused the DVR and the marker was at the beginning of the 30 minute buffer. If I changed the channel and went back, then it was up to date.
Anyone know why this happens?
Back from my days of posting when I had my TiVo HD model 6 years ago...it is finally starting to die a slow death so I pulled the trigger on the latest model. I am very excited about getting it delivered on Monday, but will have Charter coming out on Tuesday evening to get me set up with my multistream card and take my two single streams back. I decided to have them come out and get me set up in case there are issues. I am having them install the POE filter as well.
Looking to transfer my season pass list to the new one. Anyone out there tell me how to achieve this smoothly and seamlessly?
Also, should I hook this new Roamio up Monday evening if I have time even without the cable card so I can get it fired up? Is there an advantage to doing this prior to getting the card?
Thanks for all your help!
As a side note: was going to order a few weeks ago but they couldn't do anything to save on the boxes. Called on Wednesday and they say $50 off the Plus and $100 off the Pro, I decided to jump on it w/ the lifetime service. Last one went 6 years and 2 months...hoping the same out of the next one!
OK I doubt anyone will take me up on this, but just in case I figure I'll ask....
Does anyone want to trade a 4 tuner Premiere w/lifetime for a 2 tuner Premiere (75 hour) with lifetime? I know it may seem like an unfair trade but the 2 tuner can record OTA and the 4 tuner can not, so I thought maybe someone cutting the cord might find value in such a trade. Also the 2 tuner unit I have has over 2 years left of a 3 year warranty. I do not require the same on the trade unit, so that would be an added bonus to make the trade more attractive.
If anyone is interested please PM me.
I have had my TA on a timer for 2 years now and it updates about every other day every time I check it, maybe every 2-3 weeks.
I checked it last night (Thurs), and the last GC had been Wed A.M., but the update had failed earlier in the day with an SO3 error. I had never seen that before. I tried a manual update and it got to downloading but once again failed on an SO3. I rebooted and same behavior. I went to bed and checked it this morning. While the GC is still saying Wed, so a little over 2 days now without an update, a program update had completed and an index had occurred. No sign of any SO3 error.
Anybody know what exactly an SO3 error is?? Whatever it is, it fixed itself.
Had some TiVo connectivity issues when setting up my Roamio the other evening. It was due to a problem on TiVo's end, and not on my home network.
Even though I have full connectivity with the TiVo(successful TiVo connects, Discovery Bar, Netflix, etc.), and devices fed by the MoCA signal (Cable In to TiVo (MoCA), Ethernet out of TiVo to network hub that feeds PS3, and Apple TV all functioning properly; MoCA shows as down in the TiVo Diagnostics.
I have been having an issue with the video freezing for 1-2s while the audio continues playing. This is on a new iPad air. Roamio basic with a standalone stream.
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
I know that some are no longer liking this show, but I think it's getting better. I'm really enjoying the fact that it's no longer about trying to turn the power back on and instead is now about battling the sinister conspiracy forces that are calling themselves "patriots" and pretending to be the US government. And we keep learning more about how they've been planning this takeover for many years. Much more interesting than some idiots walking across the country to punch some codes into a computer and restore everything back to normal.
So Monroe comes back to life, to absolutely nobody's surprise. We all knew this was going to happen the second we saw that Rachel was handling the syringe with the "lethal" injection.
I like the introduction of the Dr. Horn character, and Zeljko Ivanek is the perfect actor to play that part. He's going to be an excellent nemesis for our "heroes." And now that he's got Aaron, that's going to make things very interesting.
I have a Series 2 R10 that was running 6.3. This morning I saw "recently deleted" in the Now Playing List which is a 6.4a feature. This apparently started on November 1. I didn't think they were doing software updates anymore.
Professor Proton versus The Science Guy!
Great episode. Everything that made Bob Newhart so good last season was even better this time. And I was counting the seconds until he made his first Penny DOM joke (didn't take long "I remember your girlfriend").
And we got some real honest talk about why Leonard puts up with Sheldon.
So. Many. Lines.
Theyre going to have sex before Sheldon and I do. I knew it!
Sheldon: "Im not going to bother him. Im going to talk to him." Leonard: "He thinks theres a difference."
"Look whos here to put the Jew in jewelry night!"
And the lightsaber belt buckles. Oh Raj...
