With the TiVo Premiere, you have the long list of channels that are checked or unchecked to indicate if you receive them or not in your cable package--and if they are skipped or included when you use the channel up/down buttons.
Is there a way to tell the Premiere "If my CableCARD is authorized to receive a channel, check it. If not, uncheck it."
I got the CableCARD working in my brand-new Premiere just yesterday, and the checkbox channel list is not accurate--several channels are unchecked for which we actually _are_ authorized.
Comcast is useless wrt this matter. Their website won't list the channel number lineup for my market (Tallahassee, FL), and the paper channel number lineup I picked up from their office with my CableCARD is not accurate either.
I find myself moving to an area where I can't get OTA reception and have no desire to pay for satellite service. Consequently I'm parting with my beloved TiVo; this will be the first time I've gone without TiVo in seven years.
The unit is a base model TiVo Premiere (R74632) that is approximately eight months old. This unit was a new-in-box warranty replacement for my original Premiere that died when the fan failed. It comes with retention pricing at $9.95/mo that TiVo assures me will transfer to a new owner. As an added bonus I have a second remote for it; TiVo told me I could keep the remote from the unit that was replaced under warranty. I'm also tossing in my TiVo Desktop Plus license key. The unit is stock in all respects, I never did any hacking or modifications outside of the 30 second skip cheat code.
Asking $150.00 plus the actual cost of shipping and insurance (if desired). Your choice of shipping carriers (USPS, UPS or Fedex).

Good day, all.
Two weeks ago, after the recent software update, I decided to try the HD menus. I looked for the HD menu option on my Premiere and was not able to find it. After a session online with CS, I then spent a further hour or so with a phone rep. Neither was able to figure out why I didn't have HD menus, although we went through various hard and soft reboots, repeated guided setup, disconnected everything but the cable feed / network / HDTV cable, and so on. It got kicked up to another support level, they did a software push or two, and still nothing. Another call to CS said they were still looking into it.
Last weekend, I had the thought that there may be some inhibition in the menus due to our privacy status of "Opt-Out", so I called CS and had them change my status to "Opt-In". 15 minutes later, the HD menu option appeared.
Last night, I called and had the status changed back to "Opt-Out". 15 minutes later, the HD menus reset to SD.
1 ) It sure seems foolish that the privacy settings would effect this option.
2 ) It seems stupid that the CS reps don't know that it does.
Hello, community. :)
I've had a THR22 for 3 days now and the first 2 days had a tuner freeze 2 times. I can't tell which tuner it was because they aren't labeled with the SWM technology and only 1 cable hooked up to the unit.
Anybody else with this issue?
I would like to know if it's a just a fluke with my unit or possibly a more general problem. Since it seems I am the first one to ask about this problem, I have the feeling that it's probably on my side only.
This show makes me miss Paradise Hotel.
Interesting that last season's couples are still together. How many couples from The Bachelor have stayed together?
More thoughts later.
I am considering picking up a used Lifetimed Tivo to replace my monthly payment.
I currently have a 24008A, with an extra HD added for capacity.
I see a 240080 available. Would this be compatible to swap the extra HD over to the new system and do a reset?
Are the premier XL's just as succeptable to the re-boot problem as the Elite/XL4?
I need to upgrade my HD unit which just died, the power won't turn on. I wanted to get another premier or elite. So this a good time. I am just concerned about the issues I keep reading about Elite/XL4 units.
Am I way off base thinking the premier XL is more stable than the Elite/XL4?
New TWC series "Hurricane Hunters" starts Mon 6/11/12 @ 9/8c.
YAY!, more opportunites for TWC idiots to mis-pronounce Biloxi
Fine cosmetic and working condition. Comes with HDMI cable, remote and power cord. Would like to sell locally in the SF Bay Area if possible. If not, willing to ship.
Thanks for looking.
I have a TIvoHD with Comcast Cable Cards. All is great.
Ordered the Skype on XFINITY® which comes with a camera, a module and some HDMI cables. The module provides pass thru from the TIVO to the TV so that is some one calls, it will alert you during your tv/tivo viewing.
Installed the kit and it worked great.
Upgraded the firmware on the module last night, and it still worked great. Came in this morning and am now getting messages the "HDMI connection not supported" and i get gray screen. The TIVO displays come thru but theTV signal does not.
Reset/Rebooted both boxes and still same issue. booted
Anyone else have any issues with Tivo and Skype on Xfinity.
Sunday, June 17, is Father’s Day. Dads across the nation will bask in the glory of a carefree day, complete with home-cooked meals and hand-crafted cards. It’s a great day to hang out with the family and queue up some recordings on the ol’ TiVo box. All this got us thinking about Dads on TV. [...]
I have a standard Tivo HD.
If I'm near the end of a recorded show, and want to switch over to live TV, or anything else, I'm hit with either "Delete now", or "Keep this recording".
It seems to occur with as little 5 mins left. Anybody know a way to adjust this
threshold to more like 30 seconds?
I am getting tired of the shenanigans & BS side charges Comcast imposes for additional cable cards for my TiVo. What should be just a straight $1.50 winds up turning into a $10 "outlet fee" and then a $2.50 equipment 'credit' for EACH card. Therefore, the true cost for each cable card is $7.45.
In the end, its bringing the monthly cost of a Tivo (without PLS) up to about the same cost of their crappy DVRs. Maybe its why they are taking advantage of this loophole; have customers pay them more instead of giving money to TiVo, but still a loophole and hopefully can be fixed.
I have gone ahead with this, but if anyone is interested in filing an FCC complaint against Comcast, here is a link to the online form to do it.
Who knows if it will ever truly do anything (probably not), but I have copy/pasted my full complaint into a word document that is saved on my PC and plan to just file this about once per week. Hell, more if possible and time permits
Well that was a total cop-out! I was looking forward to all the hilarious complications and implications of a pregnant, single Veep! And for her to be so flippant about the miscarriage was awful!
I ordered this S3 the day they were announced so I guess it's as old as an S3 can be unless you work for TiVo. :)
Anyhow, last night I noticed it was stuck on the menu page and the clock had an old time on it. So I tried rebooting but it sat there with all the front LEDs lit for a long time. So I tried again and those went out this time but the display stayed blank. Both times no video was coming out. I didn't listen for any hard drive clicking, I may do that tonight. I've read about bulged PS caps and will also check those.
Anything else I can easily check?
For the last few years I've used a Motorola box supplied by Verizon and have not had any audio or video dropouts. Upon getting a TiVo Premiere yesterday I noticed, at least on HBO, that there seems to be audio dropout maybe once everything 15 minutes or so. This leads me to believe the issue is with the TiVo (or maybe the cablecard?). Any solutions?
EDIT: Wanted to mention that the picture freezes during these dropouts but no pixelation.
