i dont know why but i thought the action was so much less in this one..less drama...was it my imagination or were you let down too?
didnt see daddy at all and what happened to him but i did like the rusky invasion vs not the Americans..nice spin on things.

I loaded kmttg (copied from old pc) and this worked fine but I discovered that I need tivo desktop plus installed in order to play tivo files with windows media player - so I reloaded this on my new pc
tivo desktop plus works fine but I prefer kmttg
since loading the tivo desktop plus
I get the following message when I try to download a file

In the past I used the tivo beacon but the bonjour connection now works better on this pc for tivo desktop plus
I changed the sttings in the kmttg options so that it does not use the beacon now but no improvement

I need a new TiVo remote. I had just the standard peanut remote. I always thought the glo feature was a good idea. Is the glo feature just as robust on the slide remote as the standard glo remote? Is there a reason not to get the slide other than the extra expense.
And the back story . . .
Four nights ago I was watching TV. I know I was using the TiVo remote. My wife asked me to check Facebook for any news about the daughter of a close friend who was in labor. (Was there a baby yet?)
(Thank you TiVo for letting us pause live TV. Remember when that was a novel idea? but I digress.)
I went upstairs to tell her no and went back down stairs to continue watching TV. No remote. In the span of probably less than 10 minutes the remote disappeared. I was very conscious of where I was during this time. We have searched high and low. No %@)#$%*)#$( Tivo Remote.
Fortunately I had the Droid app and a Logitech remote so we can watch TV. But after four days of no remote, I have decided to indulge and buy one of the glo remotes that I have been eyeing for a long time.
If you go to www.moxi.com
, they tell you that the retail moxi is gone, and there is a new whole house solution available only to cable providers.
With the ceton on some kind of indefinite hold, it looks like TiVo is the only retail solution still left standing.
First, I'll get my complaint with this episode out of the way: yet again, this show's inability to edit itself reared it's ugly head. This episode had more than enough material with the drama surrounding the four couples. We did NOT need the extra bit with Kitty and her "left behind" club, nor did we need to mix in the Jake/Kitty/Marley triangle.
Because we spent what seemed like unnecessary time on those three, the issues with Will and Emma felt almost like an afterthought, almost tacked onto this episode. I was definitely left with the impression that they're done - but not a clear understanding of why. They had one short fight, and what seemed like almost a fairy tale relationship last season is possibly over? Seemed a bit implausible that things turn that quickly.
The evolution of the other relationships, though, shouldn't take anyone by surprise. Well, I take that back - I was actually a bit surprised at how hard Rachel fought to keep her relationship with Finn alive. I figured it'd be the other way around, somehow. But yeah, I am not surprised in the least to see all three ("Finchel," "Brittana," and "Klaine") ended. (Although, it is awfully coincidental that all ended at the exact same time, so they can all be included in an episode named "The Break Up." ;))
Now, I'm guessing that not all of these breakups will stick. It's not dramatic to have stuff just... end. I'm wondering now which will end up getting back together.
As an aside, it must be nice for all these characters to have the kind of money to get last minute tickets to fly back and forth across the country. ;)
Just replaced my series 3 HD with a 4XL. Nothing changed other than that. Installation and cable card setup went flawless.
Main problem is I have no HDMI now. No signal is detected by my Sony Bravia tv whatsoever at any time including during the boot up process of the 4XL.
Tried two HDMI cables that both work fine with my Sony blue ray player.
I have one of my 3 THD's acting funny. It works fine. Records and plays shows without an issue...usually.
I notice that if we are up late...like 1-2 AM a light comes on a little to the right of the power light...not sure exactly which one...and if we are watching something that late, then I get a reboot! It looks like it went to a Discovery Channel HD, but I am NOT recording anything at that time. It looks like it is getting advertisements or something. This is a Pain as I have to wait for the LONG reboot process before I can return to the show. Also, since it rebooted, I can not resume play as it did not leave a marker.
This happened last night as we watched the debate. Anyone know what it is getting and why the reboot?
Yesterday morning I saw a spark coming from the back of my THD with Lifetime (not sure what the cause was) and it seems to have taken out the picture tube of my TV as well as the video card to my computer since they were all connected via hdmi cables. As it stands the THD won't power on at all so I'm hoping that it's just the power supply that's fried and not the motherboard but I won't know for sure. I tried looking at the capacitors but I can't tell if anything is wrong. I do have a spare Premiere unit that I was considering using for parts to replace the power supply but I couldn't see any threads saying if the Premiere's power supply was compatible or not. Thanks for the help.

I also posted this in the U.K. forum as a heads up for the people in the U.K.
Melissa George plays Sam Hunter, a highly skilled operative for an elite private intelligence firm, who survives an attempt on her life that may have been orchestrated by members of her own team. Once she returns to the firm, she performs her secretive duties without knowing who to trust and who wants her dead.
Just a FYI,
New drama has started airing on BBC1 in the U.K. From what I understand it's from the people who created 'Spooks' ('MI-5' in the States).
It's going to start airing here in States on 'Cinemax' on Oct. 19.
The first episode has already aired in the U.K. and is available by magical means.
There is another thread about this but it's also five years old, so I am going ask some questions I have that need to ask to get current information on.
The background: Live north of Tampa and have FiOS with a FiOS DVR. It's okay but periodically drops series from the recording schedule for no apparent reason. We had a TiVO powered DVR through Direct TV and my since my wife manages the recording schedules, etc I am immediately informed of the malfunction and how much the TiVO is missed.
So the questions I have are as follow that relate specifically to TiVO Primiere 4 tuner models on FiOS.
1) Which cable cards should I insist that verizon provide? We are HBO subscribers too if that matters.
2) Do the TiVo Premiere DVR have something along the line of an "app store" where specific apps can be downloaded?
3) Since we have a multi room DVR we will require one of the multi room devices. Is there a specific model/firmware version that works best or a minimum or these devices?
4) Can a TiVO see a Serviio media server? (We are a linux house)
5) What are the other caveats I need to know about with TiVo's on FiOS?
I am thinking about the purchase of the 500 mb $150 Premiere box and a Actiontec Ethernet Over Coax MoCA Adapter.
Will on Actiontec Ethernet Over Coax MoCA Adapter be all I need or do I need a pair?
With an internet connection does the Tivo Premiere still need a phone line connection?
Is there a chance that an Iomega eSATA external 1 TB drive that I purchased to expand a SA Explorer 8300HD from Comcast (and can not get to work) will work with the Tivo Premiere?
So I have a dead hard drive in my S2DT, and at the same time, I was thinking of getting a bigger HDD for my Premiere.
So I'm wondering what would happen if I just took my current Premiere drive, install it into the S2, then get a new larger drive for the Premiere?
Am I playing with fire? Would there be serious problems, or irreparable damage done to hardware?
The season four premiere of the popular sitcom left fans with many questions, ending similarly to the narrative format of JJ Abrams’ “Lost.” Fans shouldn’t worry though – this season will remain in the present and revolve around building up Gloria’s character as a mother to her first offspring with Jay. Here are a few questions that we want to ask: Haley is officially going to college. Will she make a guest appearance on the show like Sandra did on “The Cosby Show” when she was at Princeton or still Continue Reading
Starting about a week ago, all the cnet video podcast have serious black-outs, and lip sync problems when viewed on my tivo series 3. There is no tearing or pixelation. The problem seems to occur at video transitions, so the entire cnet logo clip always play fine.
Any idea what's going wrong? TV programming records and plays fine. At first I thought it's a cnet problem, but certainly they're not going to let this go on for more than a week. Plus, I went to their web site and their video podcast plays fine there.
Had to reinstall Windows and trying to re-set up pytivo.
It has been a long time since last install and I forgot the struggle it was (for me anyway).
I have the pytivo server running (in the command line box, I start it when needed and don't run it as a service).
I am also able to see the pytivo control "page" at localhost 9032, which has the Web configuration, to go, and Video Shares/My videos selections.
I have put a video into my videos folder, and pytivo sees it. pytivo also sees both of my tivo boxes on my network.
My problem is that pytivo will not send the video file to my tivo box. when I press the "send to tivo" button, I get the following error text:
No option 'tivo_username' in section: 'Server'
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\Program Files\pyTivo\plugins\video\video.py", line 341, in Push
m = mind.getMind()

File "C:\Python26\lib\ConfigParser.py", line 541, in get
raise NoOptionError(option, section)
NoOptionError: No option 'tivo_username' in section: 'Server'
I'm thinking I have failed to configure something properly. When I read the read me notes I come across mention of the creation of a file called pytivo.conf. This file is not in my installation folder, although there is a pytivo.conf.dist file. So I created this file by making a copy and then renaming the pytivo.conf.dist. I moved this file into the program files and thought I had done something right because a "my movies" was now listed on the configuration page, but then clicking on my movies or my videos got a failed to connect screen.
Anyway, that's where I stand. I would appreciate anyones help with this that has a better understanding of setting up pyTivo than myself.
I am about to upgrade my Tivo to a 1.5TB hard drive. I need to do it because my Tivo drive (inside the box) is failing. Yes, I tested the HD. The Tivo als has a 1/2TB expander.
I want to save the shows. I know if I have one drive I could (reimage) backup and restore the information on the new drive. Is it possible to do with a 2 drive system?? If Yes, how?
We have three locations we spend time at. At each location we have a cable company provided DVR. We are currently in SW Florida with Comcast and an Explorer 8300HD DVR which my wife is very unhappy with (too little room to store her TV programs). I tried adding an external drive to the DVR but it did not work. I was thinking perhaps a Tivo with a Comcast cable card might be more practical. But I have some questions.....
Is the Tivo member/subscription married to the Tivo box? In other words could we carry the Tivo to another location, hook it up with the appropriate cable card and be up and running with the same membership?
Do any of the newer Tivo DVR's have a built in wireless connection?
Can I assume that Comcast in Florida, Time Warner in SC and Optimum in NJ will be able to provide cable cards that will work with one of the newer Tivo's?
I have DSL so the cable coming into the room where my router (airport) is, is going directly to a tv.
Question 1. Can I use a splitter, split the cable signal there and put one part to the tv and one part on the MoCa adapter, and then connect the MoCa adapter to my Router? (of course adding a MoCa adapter at the TiVo end as well)
Question 2 - Could I instead use a Actiontec - 500 Mbps Powerline Home Theater Network Adapter Kit, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Actionte...MBPS&cp=1&lp=5
that would create an ethernet jack right by my Tivo?
Has anyone done this??
This show has been moved to H2 from History Channel. I conclude this because, while the new episodes do appear on HC, they are delayed, are at odd times, and show up as reruns according to TiVo. The H2 episodes are at standard times (8 & 8:30 Eastern/7 & 7:30 C&M on Saturday) and show up as new.
New episodes have been broadcast as of 9/29/12, but you can still catch them if you record tonight.
