I'm looking at getting a Tivo Premiere (currently have a Tivo HD). One of the coolest features of the Premiere is the Multi-room streaming. I wondering if there is any software out there for Windows than can PRETEND to be another Tivo Premiere box. That way, I could stream to my PC.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated!
"In order to start cable service for this device, please contact your cable provider."
Anybody know what the cause of this error screen? I see it maybe once every 2-3 days. If I hit "clear" on the remote, it goes away; however, it's annoying that it's happening at all.
I have Comcast in the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm using a Premier box with multi-stream cable card.
Does anyone know of stand-alone media player (such as the WD Media Player) playing the .tivo files?
If I convert it to mkv using VideoRedo, does it retain the 5.1 Dolby Digital surround audio?
Does anyone else watch this?
I record it and watch it during dinner. I enjoy the hosts and sometimes the food, but I don't think I could ever make much of it. They have great guests and some fun themed shows.
Hello All - I would like to edit a Tivo recording that I transferred to my PC with TiVo Desktop. Is there any way to convert it to an editable format and then upload? Any help would be appreciated...
Using TiVo Premiere Elite - Windows Vista PC
So it's been a while since I've done anything TiVo. I currently have a Series2 with lifetime (which I haven't even used for over a year), and an upgraded Tivo HD system (I think I put a 1TB drive in there) for which I pay 6.95/month for.
I am looking at the Premiere and possibly the XL/elite, but am wondering how it will affect my pricing. Will my monthly go up if I replace my Tivo HD with a premiere or elite?
I may bite on something like the woot deal if it comes around again, but I'd like to know what I'm getting into beforehand :)
Final Q: Is the standard premiere box as easy to upgrade as the previous tivos? Briefly looking in the upgrade forum, it appears there is a procedure that looks straightforward. Even so, a 2tb upgraded premiere vs an elite at about the same price is no contest.
Edit: Oh geez, nevermind. I just noticed that I started getting charged 12.95/month. I will need to look into that!

I am planning to drop off my 2 unused cable boxes and 2 x S3 cable cards back to Comcast today.
Can I perform a clear/restore on the S3 unit without the cable cards installed?
I sold my S3 on Ebay about a month ago. The buyer rec'd and provided positive feedback.
Just checked my account and noticed the box is still on there. Should I call Tivo and tell them I no longer have this box?
Should I be concerned that new buyer has not activated this box on their account yet?
Please add a stop button for Netflix.
Or perhaps a "Menu" button.
Currently to stop watching a Netflix program I have to...
1)Press the "Tivo" button, thusly exiting Netflix
2) Scroll down to "ON demand"
3) Press "Select"
4) Press "Select" again :(
5) Wait for Neflix to load
All that just to go from a show to the Netflix menu.
Gerrrr how irritating
Why do I often lack audio with Hulu??
1) Does NOT occur 100% of the time, maybe 70%
2) Yes, the volume is set correctly
3) Yes, I have audio with other features and menus.
Smallville spinoff (or is it a prequel? :p) chronicling the adventures of Oliver Queen.
I'll at least check it out, but I don't think it will be the same without Justin Hartley in the lead role.
During the past year TiVo has been studying box office performances in relation to the fast-forward rates of movie spots – and the correlation between the two is undeniable. Fast-forward rate is simply the percent a spot is skipped during live plus seven days of time-shifted viewing. On average the fast-forward rates for movie spots, [...]
Did anyone miss the faces of the actors being flashed on the screen during the themesong and opening credits?
They gave the names, but no faces.
Is this a 21st century thing, or something?
You really like the things glued on the wall, don't you?
My intention is not to have spoilers in this thread. My set up/question may have a broad, generalized spoiler, however, depending on how you define a spoiler. If you haven't seen the show, proceed with caution. For those who have seen it; please - no spoilers.
I have not watched this show. I thought it looked really interesting and then about the time I was going to start watching it, the first season ended in a way that seemed to leave a lot of viewers unhappy. (I know this simply from reading headlines here and there.) So I never got around to watching. I watch other AMC shows, and it still looks like I might enjoy this show, but don't want to start if it's not worth the trouble (meaning I'll probably get frustrated with it and stop watching). I haven't heard anything, good or bad, about the second season.
I'm just curious as to whether people who have watched it, and are still watching it, would recommend it.
What going on? Why are the new TiVos on sale?
First Tivo reduced the price and now they are being dump by Woot. I think even Amazon reduced the price.
Could this mean:
- A new or better TiVo box coming out.
- A deal with Comcast and or Cox to use TiVo boxs.
We have digital basic via Comcast in Nashville area
Coaxial connection giving channels 1-20
Digital box Motorola DCH70 on 1 tv that gives channels 1-70ish, no on demand. Tivo series2 controls this digital box via IR blaster and the normal tivo remote.
2 other tvs
Just coaxial connection giving channels 1-20
As of today the coaxial connection no longer gives over the air cables channels.
We got for no additional installation/service charge 2 new "digital transport adapters" (DCI105COM1). This adapter has an "IR In" port.
My question, can the tivo series2 connect/control two different digital boxs or does one of the two inputs have to be a "it just works" input like a smart card, over the air, or cable over coaxial?
I recently bought a Premier and am interested in selling my current Tivo.
I have a Series 3 HD 180-hr TiVo HD DVR (I think this is called HD XL?) with lifetime service. It still works fine I just live in the Boston Area and wanted to get access to On Demand through Comcast.
Is there any kind of authorized Tivo reseller, or do most people just sell on their own through Ebay or Amazon or something? What kind of price would be fair for a 180-hr HD XL with lifetime?
I appreciate any advice!
