I have a unique setup and bought the base model Roamio for OTA capability (no cable). I bought HDMI extenders over CAT5 and assumed it would work (works on other devices so I know the cables are working). When I connect the roamio I get nothing but I know that my TV is receiving a signal because the HDMI input is highlighted. I assume that the handshake between the roamio and HDMI extenders not working? Tech support was useless - they just said we do not support HDMI extenders. I refuse to go composite to cat5 due to poor resolution so this is my only logical option. Any advice?
Still one of the funniest shows on TV. Laughed harder for more scenes than probably every other new sitcom put together.

I see threads from 2006 asking for this. It seems obvious. Please allow us to have folders! Then I could put my sons stuff in his folders and wife's stuff in her folders. It would make me a better husband!! :)
My understanding is that iOS 7 allows apps to upload and download in the background, doing away with the 'ten-minute rule.' Does anyone know if this means the quirk where you have to keep the TiVo app in the foreground of an unlocked iPhone/iPad for shows to download will be a thing of the past? So far, it seems that there hasn't been any change.

I transferred a bunch of shows from my old Premiere XL to my new Roamio Pro that I had kept around for archival purposes with "Keep Until I Delete", but they came over with the default "Keep Until" settings (not surprised). The problem is that I can only mark half of them "Keep Until I Delete" on the Pro. The others allow me to click on that setting, but they just ignore it. On many of the shows, it was literally every other show that allowed me to change the setting vs. not. I also transferred one of the problem shows again and the new copy is also ignoring the delete settings.
My Roamio Pro has not recorded any suggestions in 3 days now even though I have it set to record suggestions. This has persisted through a number of reboots, and I even went through guided setup a second time to see if that would help.
Previously, I had a Roamio Plus that I bought last week, but I decided I wanted the extra storage of the Pro and, for the price difference compared to buying a 3TB AV-GP drive, I'd rather have it all under warranty and on BB free financing so I went back and got a Pro to replace it.
My experience with setting up the Plus was much better than my experience with setting up the Pro (though the cablecards were a nightmare in both situations). With the Plus, once I got the cablecard paired it started right up, I transferred my Season Passes online and then moments later went to the box and reordered them back into a sane order (I know it probably isn't really necessary with 6 tuners, but better safe than sorry). It also happily started recording suggestions on the first day.
Now contrast that to my Pro. The setup went fine, but when I went to transfer the Season Passes online it was refusing to take. I forced a few service connections and then it allowed me to transfer them (was pretty sure I gave it similar amount of time to get its bearings as the Plus, but it was definitely more finicky about allowing me to transfer the SP). I didn't bother to reorder them right away and it was the next day before I went in to check their order. About half of them showed up as "Corrupt, Please delete". I read online about the problem and waited another day and forced a few service connections, but I still had a whole bunch of those. Finally I downloaded kmttg and transferred them that way and it went much better. Very puzzling that the transfer worked very well the first time for the Plus, but the Pro never really took to the online version of the transfer. And now, on the 4th day after getting the Pro running, it still has never recorded a suggestion. With so much more disk space you'd think it would be chomping at the bit to record some stuff.
Any ideas? I read a suggestion somewhere to turn the suggestions off and on again, possibly with reboots in between. Others reported that going through that dance did not fix the problem for them. I did the off and on with a service connection in between and still no go. I would try it again with reboots in between, but it is currently showing that tonight's service update is pending and I have a few recordings tonight so I don't want to interrupt them for this experiment. I'll try that later tonight.
Another suggestion was to clear thumb ratings, but it is brand new and doesn't have any yet (other than the season passes that I transferred, if they imply a thumbs up). Also, the Plus started recording suggestions without any thumbs up work needed...?
Any other ideas? Do suggestions just take longer for some TiVos?
Why would Tivo include wireless when they have said it's not fast enough for MRV?
I'm trying to connect to TiVo service to send in some logs for troubleshooting and also email Margret, but when I try to it says:
"Temporarily Unavailable - This option will be unavailable until a scheduled software update occurs at 2am."
Anyone have a clue what this update is? Could it be a long awaited fix for the issues a lot of us are experiencing? I'm about to give up on my Pro but I'd be willing to hang one more day if anyone has any concrete evidence.
I have a new Roamio Pro, and have now gotten two failed recordings, both for the same show, New Girl. Everything else is recording fine, but for this show it stopped after two minutes and the recording is just black.
Anyone else see this? Is there anything I can do? My wife so far is very unimpressed with the Roamio because of less than reliable nature of the device compared to our XL.

I still remember the day I setup my first one, the first generation Phillips TiVo! To this day, there has been nothing I have ever purchased that had a greater Wow effect than that first TiVo. A new car, an HDTV, Smartphones, computers, GPS's, blah, blah blah.. That original TiVo is still the coolest thing I have ever purchased in my life.

Hi, how can I change the replay button to perform a 30s skip back?
I.e. to make the skip forward and replay buttons behave like skip forward and skip back, with equal amounts of time.
I previously set up a season pass for the new Marvel Agents of SHIELD. THe process went fine (and I believe I had to bump the priority of the SP to make sure it recorded).
The show was broadcast last night. Around 10:30 I went to watch it. IT WASN'T THERE. I went to Recording History - it skipped it "because it had already been recorded within the last 28 days"...
Actually, I suspect I know what happened - the Marvel show may have some sort of ID code that erroneously mapped to something I already record. Doesn't make it any less painful. I changed the setting to "record everything (incl. duplicates)". But I'm really bummed, and now that much less distrustful of my TivoHD.
Did anyone else experience this? Was there any way to avoid it?

Last night, my Roamio got into a state where I couldn't reorder season passes and couldn't delete shows. I restarted it and it worked fine until just now when it has started doing that again. I'm going to restart again right after 7 EDT. Does anyone have any ideas why this may be happening to me all of a sudden?
I have reviewed the threads regarding the remote codes for a Soyo TV. The one that seemed to work for others is Pronto 0165. I tried all the Pronto codes and none of them worked. I even tried 0165 twice (definition of insanity?!?). :(
Does anyone have any other remote codes that have worked on a Soyo TV that I can try? Thanks in advance!
I just recently acquired the Roamio, Roamio Pro, and a couple of Minis. The Roamios have NetFlix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Instant Video On Demand. But the Minis do not have the Amazon option. Does anyone know why?
When I bought these I thought they all had Amazon (Prime) capabilities, so was disappointed when that option wasn't there on the Minis or Roamios.
How long after subscribing to the guides service ($14.99) will it take my roamio plus to activate? It's been several hours since I signed up.
