I'm surprised, no thread about this episode yet!
Wow...for a minute I thought I was watching late night Cinemax. If that performance by Claire Danes doesn't merit an Emmy I don't know what will ;)
All in all a decent episode. Saul's expressions during the tap into the sex scene were priceless.
Wonder if Brody is going to be yet again turned this time by Abu Nazir, into what a triple or quadruple agent now? I'm losing track.
I was just wondering. After I pull a show from using kmttg and edit it using VideoREDO (taking out commercials or w/e I want), is there any way to then transfer the final product back to a .tivo file and put it back on my actual TiVo?

Hey, what is John Cena doing when he waves his hand in front of his face?
I have a directv RCA40, as well as an RCA80. The RCA80 was a used purchase from Ebay and came from Denver Co. The hard drive had not been wiped and still had channel info and recorded programs on it. I bought a new access card and tried to activate the drive. Everything seemed to be working ok, but the drive was not able to "get all of the channel information". The CSR gave up on helping me at that point...saying the dvr was "too old" and I needed to upgrade.
The hard drive on my dvr40 will probably need a new hard drive soon. I want to know if its possible to do something with the drv80 hard drive to have it work in the dvr 40 or even to be able to get channel info downloaded properly on the dvr80 so I could use that box.
I have suspected that it still has all the settings for the Denver area and is looking for those channels possibly?
What could I try re-setting or even doing the "clear and Delete" so I could start over with a clean drive? Would I lose any info that I needed?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The Discovery series will end its 10-year run after the Dec. 11 special "American Chopper: The Revenge."
"After 10 years and 233 episodes of incredible, riveting reality television, American Chopper will be ending its run," said Eileen O'Neill, group president of Discovery and TLC Networks, reports Entertainment Weekly. "This series was one of the very first family-based reality programs on television. Special thanks to Pilgrim Studios for over a decade of great producing. The Teutuls have given us really innovative bike builds and real drama since 2002. We wish both Orange County Choppers and Paul Junior Designs the best."
The motorcycle reality-documentary show follows the goings-on behind the scenes of the Orange County Choppers, a custom motorcycle fabrication company. It follows the Teutuls -- Paul Sr. and Jr., as they create motorcycles as works of art.
Paul Teutul Sr. appeared on season five of "The Celebrity Apprentice."
"American Chopper" airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET.
Honestly, had a little of a nerdgasm when Alton popped out of that container. I knew he was going to be on, but it was still such a thrill to see him with the Mythbusters. I'd love to see this happen on a yearly basis or so. He seemed to fit in so well--crawling under the car, working with Jamie and Adam at the workbench, etc.
That said, the "myths" were a little weak. Cooking the Thanksgiving dinner using the heat of the engine was interesting, but like many other myths, they went to such extravagant means to make it happen that it's less a "myth" and more just a cool project. In fact, I'd say the whole Thanksgiving dinner segment was more an episode of Good Eats than Mythbusters.
The popcorn? Interesting. At least it gave them an explosion on an episode that probably wouldn't have one.
I found myself a little grossed out by the build team's segments. I'm not really feeling much like turkey now for some reason...and I definitely do not want runny mashed potatoes with protein powder mixed in.
I have two Premieres (one has an upgraded hard drive) with the priority fall update software. Last night, I wanted to watch a program (it may have been still recording) in the other room, so I tried to stream the program. Tivo seemed to bounce me back to the program menu page (on that Tivo) but it did not stream. I then tried to transfer the show and Tivo said the program did not exist. I tried exiting out and trying both options again but it didn't work.
I went to the other room and the program was there and recording. It wasn't paused either, so I'm not sure why I wasn't able to stream or transfer the program.
This is the first time I have experienced this issue.
I did not reboot either machine.
I have an HR10-250 that I bought a couple of years ago on Ebay. I did the power supply fix (replaced the two caps that go bad) earlier this year and it has been working fine.
Lately though, it has been rebooting at random times, multiple times a day, and it doesn't matter if I'm watching live TV or a recording. I suspect it is the WD 250G hard disk, but I cannot get into the Kickstart to run the 54 diagnostics. I've tried the directions on Weakknees, but they don't seem to apply to the HR10-250 since the lights do not match what the direction describe.
I pulled the disk and put it on a PC yesterday but found that Linux tools won't diag that disk due to the MFS file system on it. I found MFSTools from MFS Live and burned a boot CD but found that there is no diag tool included with it. The PDisk tool stated something about a bad segment when I ran it. Was unable to get much by googling that error message.
I would think I'd be OK for a little while if I could check it and mark the bad sectors but need a tool to do it.
Any ideas on this?
Trying to figure out where to go from here. I was thinking maybe I could get a new, bigger disk, and transfer stuff over to it using MFSTools, but from what I have read I can't tell if it will take care of the 15 partitions on the new disk. From what I have been able to gather, the Instacake software will set up a new Tivo, but not transfer stuff from the old one.
My HDVR2 rebooted 3 times when I was watching a show. My wifes R10 has rebooted every day also and its has 6.4a software.
The time it reboots has very little to do with it if any at all since I have had reboots watching a show, playing a show while recording on a hard drive dvd recording.
I am a pretty loyal guy but I have my limits. The only reason I have not switched to another service is that At&t has one location for where the movies are stored and my wife and I need to have them separate plus the fact she has 2 inputs and I have 4, we would have to give up 2 inputs.
Guess it does not matter because of my lung cancer but I am getting pretty mad and willing just to have some basic type of cable and able to record it on a large hard drive.
I have a TR24 which I am not fond of as it does not have some of the features the tivo has plus I do not have high definition tv.
I am leaving for Utah to visit family Tuesday and will be gone 9 days. I hope this problem is resolved when I get back or I am going to ask for credits, credits and credits as I have several problems in 2 parts and the shows on the premiums I have recorded I had to delete as I want to watch the whole show.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
I'm sorry for Debra and i hate Hannah!!
I have a question though. I don't understand where Laguerta went and why this man said for Dexter "This guy had a slip." "He moved
a few years back."??? What was that conversation mean at all? Obviously i missed something from previous episode. :/
For some reason, the programmes output from my original TiVo (using Sky as the source) have a lot less brightness and I haven't changed any settings on it. I changed over the Sky box from a (now dead) Thompson to a Pace, but even after the change it was still fine picture-wise. I've noticed that programmes aren't taking up quite as much space also. I realised I'd changed the contrast setting to low on the Sky box, for some reason, but have corrected that back to high, tried a programme and it still doesn't look much different.
I haven't changed any TiVo settings either.
Anyone any ideas, please? :(
Our TiVo recorded an episode of Airwolf because of our keyword "Pilot" wishlist.
"Jan-Michael Vincent, Ernest Borgnine, Alex Cord. A rogue pilot uses a high-tech attack helicopter to fight crime. Series."
Spouse puts it on for nostalgia and it turns out to be an infomercial for the "5-in-1 Airwolf" house filtration system.
My PXL froze while watching a Netflix video tonight. I waited for a few hours, no change, then I pulled the plug. Now it's in a boot loop, I can't even kick start.
It goes to "Welcome! Starting Up" screen, stays there for 15 sec. Only the green light comes on, the amber light never comes on, so can't kickstart. Then the screen goes dark while all the lights (green, amber, blue, and 2 red) on the front flash once all at the same time. Then 2-3 seconds later it goes back to the "Welcome! Starting Up" screen, and this loops again and again.
Is the HDD dead? Or is this something else?
When the TPXL froze, my other Premiere (non-XL) also became very sluggish. I rebooted it and put it back to SD menu, and now the Premiere seems back to normal.
I wonder if this has anything to do with the fall SW roll-out. Last time Tico updated the SW in the summer, the Premiere unit went into frequent reboot, I had to kickstart to swap boot sector to make it normal again (PXL survived that update fine). Now my Premiere is still on 20.1.2. When it gets the fall update I wonder if it will die again. All this is making me think if I should just give up on Tivo for good.
Still not liking the Governor.
Really unfortunate about the Rockers. I wonder what happens to them now to get back.
Anyone else notice how sunburned the woman next to Phil got between the first team and when Abby and Ryan checked in? Her cleavage was bright red by the end of the day.
I have a friend that literally gave me an old Series2 TiVo box that was never opened. I am plugging it in to see if it will work with my SD D*TV service.
I have an old R10 DTV TiVo that has been very faithful, but it is starting to reboot occasionally and be a little sketchy, so that is why I am experimenting with this Series2 TiVo. I seem to recall that maybe this Series2 box would work with DTV as well....am I crazy, or has my memory completely failed me?
No HD concerns here yet related to this thread..I have an OTA UHF antenna that works OK, but no need for any recording related to that. I am just wondering if the Series 2 will work with regular old round dish DTV service and a Philips DSX5500 receiver.
(edit - hopefully I fixed the spelling errors.)
I recently spent around 30 hrs trying to get a TiVo unit going thru Comcast and TiVo.
Two m-cards wouldn't work, so tech came out a week later, still couldn't get TiVo to work, and as he was walking out the door, handed me two M-cards and said, "here, these are yours for your trouble"... When I told him I didn't need anymore cards, Comcast had given me two, found out I only needed one.
He said "no, I'm GIVING you these cards, their yours to keep.
I tried to get the TiVo paired using both cards he gave me, one of them the tech said he couldn't even find the card, it was apparently an "unregistered" card...
What does that mean, and is it of any use? Or is it a paperweight?
Going on two weeks tomorrow, and still no HD with my TiVo.
New Premier box coming tomorrow, if they dont get that one going, I'm done.
TiVo is supposed to be so simple, it's been a nightmare for me.
Current box is Series 3 HD but according to TiVo, firmware has been upgraded to just TiVo HD, thus it works with just one M card instead of the two needed in earlier Series 3 HD models...
They did find the info on the second card he gave me, and we're able to send signal, but still don't get HD... So 3 cards, countless hours on telephone with over a dozen techs, and still no go...
I sure hope it's a tuner problem in the TiVo itself...
I have a 6 going on 7 little girl coming for Thanksgiving. There won't be any other kids, so I want to record a bunch of shows she will like. Any suggestions? Educational shows will be great, since she is a little behind in school.
I'm upgrading the original hard drive in my premiere (45hr HD) to a new 2TB drive. Can I use the original drive for external storage for the Tivo?
