Any kind of show like this?
I really wish they made a show about a magic world, with schools like Hogwarts and all that.
My friend told me he read a rumor somewhere that they were going to start making a series like this, but I wasn't sure.
Thought I might ask around here
Thought the first episode moved a little slowly but should shape up to be an interesting season. Jenna Elfman looked pretty good other than the short hair.
Hi TiVo Friends, Sorry if this has been asked before, but I did a search and didn't find an answer to this question.
To make a long story short we have finally upgrade to a Premiere XL from a single tuner S2. We're also moving to a new location and will be using FiOS TV. Currently have Optimum and one STB for the S2.
I need to order FiOS TV and I know I need a CableCard for the Premier XL, but was wondering if I should also get an HD STB to go alongside the Premier XL? The reason I ask this is that with our Series 2 unit changing channels can be incredibly slow. I don't want to spend the money on an extra HD STB if I don't need it, but have never seen a Premiere XL in use nor have I seen FiOS TV before so I don't know what I'll be missing w/o the HD STB, but want to order it if I don't need it.
Thanks in advance for your help.
My Premiere Elite I've had for about a month keeps recording repeats on season passes that are set up to record first run only. For example, all the "Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson" episodes this week are repeats. They are marked as repeats and each one shows an earlier original air date. But they are all scheduled to be recorded on my season pass that is set up to record only first run.
I transferred my season passes using the online utility from my old box to the new one, and it has been doing this ever since. Anyone else experiencing this? Any idea what is causing it?
Hi all, just set up a couple of Premieres over the past week. Everything so far is great except I cannot get Hulu or Netflix to work. I have spent hours on the phone and online with Tivo with no results.
Netflix just goes to the red screen for while, then says can't connect.
Hulu never gives me a device code on either unit, just says "loading" forever. If I enter my username/pass it never goes past the "waiting" button. The Hulu sample videos do load fine, if that means anything.
Amazon video and Youtube both work flawlessly.
Netflix and Hulu both work fine on our desktops and laptops.
I have a Fortigate 200 firewall running in NAT mode, 6 mb (tested) dsl running of a modem in bridge mode. Policies are set pretty basic, any internal allowed any policy any destination. I have watched the firewall log while Netflix connects, saw multiple successful connections, no denies, no timeouts, yet it still errors out.
It's like something is not going through at the authentication phase or something. I'm at a loss, I think Tivo is as well. Any ideas? Thanks.
Top 20 group performance.
2 boys and 2 girls will leave next week.
Witney 1-855-GO-HER-01 and Chehon 1-855-GO-HIM-01 - Latin - Louis Van Amstel - I thought she outperformed him but she should've since its close to her style.
Tiffany 1-855-GO-HER-02 and George 1-855-GO-HIM-02 - Comtemporary - Sonya Tayeh - Very nice performance by the both of them. I liked it.
Janaya 1-855-GO-HER-03 and Brandon 1-855-GO-HIM-03 - Hip hop - Napitabs - I liked it. Not bad.
Alexa 1-855-GO-HER-04 and Daniel 1-855-GO-HIM-04 - Jazz - Sean Cheeseman - Difficult performance. They did a good job.
Amber 1-855-GO-HER-05 and Nick 1-855-GO-HIM-05 - Ballroom - Jason Gilkison - Thought they both did really well.
Amelia 1-855-GO-HER-06 and Will 1-855-GO-HIM-06 - Hip Hop - Napitabs - Looked more like a jazz routine. It was a cute little performance and they did it well.
Janelle 1-855-GO-HER-07 and Dareian 1-855-GO-HIM-07 - African Jazz - Sean Cheeseman - It was alright for me. I like Janelle hopefully its good enough for her to get through.
Eliana 1-855-GO-HER-08 and Cyrus 1-855-GO-HIM-08 - Broadway - Tyce Diorio - They both did very good. He was good too learning his first choreography.
Audrey 1-855-GO-HER-09 and Matthew 1-855-GO-HIM-09 - Contemporary - Travis Wall - This was the best of the night for me so far. Very good.
Lindsay 1-855-GO-HER-10 and Cole 1-855-GO-HIM-10 - Paso Doble - Jason Gilkinson - Another very strong performance. They left the best 2 for last.
Hello, I am in the process of building a new home. I have been with DirecTV for 10+ years (have always used the DirecTV DVR's) and am going to be switching to Comcast when we move in. I have heard that the Comcast DVR's are junk, so i'm going to get 2 TiVo DVR's for our two TV's. Here are a couple questions I have:
1- What exactly do I need to connect both TiVo boxes so I can see and view the recorded shows on each box. I will have both units connected to my router, is that good enough?
2- Can each unit see the other unit, or can you only watch recorded shows on another TV from one specified unit? My DirecTV DVR's could all see each other and you could watch any recorded show on any unit. I'm hoping TiVo works the same way.
3- Only 1 coax is required even though you can have up to 4 tuners (with the high end model), correct?
I recently had FIOS setup at my home. In my garage is the ONT and a cable line is run from the ONT to the ActionTec router in the basement. I'd like to remove the ActionTec from the equation, by running an Cat6e cable direct from the ONT to the Apple Airport Extreme Base Station. That will serve as the hub for my wired, wireless setup. I've got wired Cat6e from the basement to my (2) Premiere XL's. I also have (2) TiVo HD's, which currently do not have a wired connection, outside of a coaxial cable.
- If I remove the ActionTec, will this affect my TiVo's in any way?
- I've seen references to MOCA. Can someone explain in layman's terms how/why I might use that? Is there a way to get an Internet connection from coaxial with an adapter?
If anyone can offer up any advice, I'd welcome it. Thanks in advance.
Didn't see much recent info on this, so Im interested in a current comparison. I had cable way back, and then Directivos up through Series 2, more than a few years ago. Currently have HR20 sat receivers, and full bore DTV packages.
What I had forgotten is that Comcast has different offerings in different areas, apparently. I had started looking around when DTV lost Viacomm last night, and was pleasantly surprised that where I live, Oakland CA, has some stuff that Comcast didn't list on their national website, like Fox Soccer in HD, SyFy in HD, and I think a few more. Am I correct in that?
I'm wondering what I should look out for in making the switch. I think I've got old coax running around parts of the house; does that need to be upgraded? do I have to get an installer (I could solder on new coax connections, if that's all there is to it)? And what services do I have to pay for with Comcast: on their site they list "digital service" and "HD service" and something for locals, but I couldn't understand what I'd need to order if I were to get two Premieres. Should I just buy the TiVos and then contact Comcast?
Any advice appreciated.
Wow, this season sure started with a lot of changes.
Jai is dead! Drat, I'll miss him.
Annie has a new boss. That will be interesting. I'm not crazy about Joan and Arthur so I'm hoping we'll see less of them.
Is forum censoring still working?
Please don't ban me for testing:

Can anyone solve a mystery? My Tivo ethernet connection is firmly connected to my router. Nothing loose. Cables have been tested and working properly and the pins are fine. Tivo software is up to date.
It works fine for a short period of time. However, after 4 or 5 days, I notice that my programming has not updated and I check to see what is wrong. It says that my ethernet cable is unplugged -- but it is not! It is still firmly connected and I have not done anything with the system.
I go to "replug" the ethernet connection and it works again.
Specs: Tivo Series 3
Router: Apple Airport Extreme
Cabling: Cat 5e
Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this annoying problem?
It would be helpful if, after a period of time, the forum software disallowed edits or deletions of posts. Say, 15 or an hour. This would stop the situation you see in Happy Hour now where a user is deleting his old posts, or editing the text out of them.
I just had the strangest thing ever happen. Apparently I was watching a channel that does not exist on my lineup this morning.
When I turned my TV on this morning a movie was on that I liked. It wasn't in HD, but rather was letter boxed so I figured I would hit guide, find out what channel it is on and go and tune into the HD Version. My TiVO was telling me I was on channel 319, (This History Channel in Spanish - my tivo for what ever reasons likes to try to record suggestions from this channel even though I don't get it.) I went through the guide of all the movie channels, HBO, Cinemax and what not and I could not find the movie that was playing what so ever. It had to be a premium channel as it was commercial free. At the end of movie it was playing MAX logo's and advertising what's on tonight. Then another movie started. Only, it wasn't the same movie that was on max and max HD! When I switched back to 319 I was back to History in Spanish I was back to not authorized.
Going to Cinemax.com, I found that lineup for the channel I had apparently been watching, it was @MAXHD. By going into my channel list I was able to see there was a @max on 225 that was not selected, and added that one to my line up. This channel is playing the same line up, but wasn't letterboxed.
I wonder what all that was about. maybe cox was testing the HD channel and things got screwy? @maxhd is not in the lineup listed on cox's page.
Picked up by one of the big three networks it's another try at "Who's line is it..." improv with a couple of new wrinkles.
In this case it's hosted by Fred Willard and Colin Mochrie, Wayne Brady and Greg Proops are back plus there's one rotating performer. Next week will be Ricky Gervais.
A really neat feature is a thing they call the sideways wall. Hard to describe, the performers lie down and are shot from an overhead camera, the effect is really neat. For example, a guest last night was Serena Williams and poking fun the guys played tennis on the wall. While laying on their sides on the wall they rolled the ball to one another and it appeared to be floating to the opposing player.
The second of the two back to back half hours shows featured two of the Osbourne kids and that was entertaining as well.
Hopefully this will get picked up in the fall.
I have a TIVO HD and the volume from it is very much lower than that of the TV and my Direct TV TIVO. I use the volume settings suggested in the FAQ pages. It has always been like this , but it is now more noticable with a new TV.
I got my refub TiVo Premiere today. I hooked it up with an HDMI cable I already had hooked up on the tv. As the unit is booting up the "Please Wait" and "Almost There" screens show. But when it changes after that my TV just says "Invalid format".
I don't have a real HD signal going to the tivo. I have a HD antenna but its really weak.
Is this a problem with the TV a setting I can change on it or is this a problem with the HDMI output
I have two Premier boxes the newer one is only 1 year old and I have a Toshiba DVR connected to it and that is connected to the TV but I can not view my TiVo unless the DVR is on. My other Premier is connected the same way and I do not have this problem. What's up with at? Can any one help me?
