Interesting episode. The other son is interesting. He is obviously going to start trouble. I think he likes Norma as well as Norman (if you catch my drift) but is angry about it and jealous of Norman.
Again we get Norma showing her body to Norman and get to see his reaction. It is all very weird.
So Emma was able to type in pictograms for translation? Not buying it. I'm guessing it was too much hassle to explain, so they just glossed over it.
The cops and the town "taking care of things" is a little dark. I wonder how long before they protect Norma instead of prosecuting her.
I do like how we have all of these unexplained things. Makes me want to continue watching. I find it interesting how the set designer uses all of these things that are old, kind of a throw back to the original movie. The school teacher wears Peter Pan collars and cardigans. She looks like she stepped out of the fifties. Norman was watching black and white TV, the record player was a seriously old system. I didn't recognize the song, but I bet it was appropriately old.
Good start to the second half, but I'm not thrilled with the villain of this arc.
I was concerned briefly that Clara was going to die in every single episode.
Even though we passed the first official day of spring last week and we’re all hoping we’ve seen the last snowfall of the season, we can’t help but get excited when we hear the words “winter is coming.” If you’re anything like us, you have been counting down to 03.31.13 since HBO first announced the Game of Thrones season premiere date. Finally kicking off this Sunday night, the 10-episode 3rd season is based on the first half of Storm of Swords and from what we’ve heard, it is worth the Continue Reading
Over the last few years, we’ve witnessed a bizarre new marketing trend in which products are put up for pre-order… without an actual release date or itemized spec sheet. And, amazingly, even occasionally neglecting to specify a price. AT&T is up this time, with a Samsung Galaxy S4 (pre) pre-order announcement: Continuing our legacy as the [...]
Do you own a hummer, hybrid or a mid-size sedan? Do you watch Leno, Letterman, Kimmel or Fallon? TiVo Research and Analytics has discovered a correlation between what people drive and the late night shows they watch. TRA observed what TV Late night shows were being watched by hundreds of thousands of car owners in the fourth broadcast quarter of 2012. We found a vast difference in those who watch the traditional late night programs, Leno and Letterman, and those who watch Jimmy Fallon. We also looked into the cable-based Continue Reading
TiVo has just refreshed its line of Android apps, with the highlight being Jellybean (4.2) support. Unfortunately, TiVo Stream capabilities remain MIA… despite Android representing greater than 50% of US smartphones and presumably frustrated MSO partners. The complete rundown: Additional Away Mode functionality so that users can manage their Season Passes and ToDo Lists while on [...]
I am having a problem since I got my Mini installed. Here is my setup:
1 - Living Room - TiVo Premiere 4 - Connected to the router via ethernet
2 - Bedroom - TiVo Mini - Connected to internet via MoCA
I noticed that I get the "black" screen often in my main tv when I select a channel. I then go channel down or up a couple of times and then the channel shows up.
I called my cable company, and had one of their cable card technicians come over. He spent two hours in my house. Everything was fine from Cox part, signal in my house, tuning adapter and cable card. He was getting 89 signal strength across the board.
He mentioned that the problems comes from TiVo Mini since the Premiere 4 thinks that a tuner is busy because of Mini.
Have you heard anything about this? Anybody experiences this? I am seriously thinking of returning my Mini and canceling the subscription, since this is driving me crazy. I have also missed a scheduled recording twice now, because of this problem.
Thank you in advance!
I think the Mentalist was the only one that was really on the bubble but it looks like they'll get to extend the Red John story another season.
The Good Wife didn't have exceptional ratings but it's close to syndication numbers so that was pretty much expected.
Hey guys I am a new Tivo user as of yesterday...We decided to trade in our two cable boxes for an XL4 and Mini, the Tivo rep at my work(Best Buy) has been hounding me to buy Tivo so I finally caved...
Here is my issue, I have the mini setup in the bedroom and it will display the Tivo display and SD channels perfectly fine. When I switch to HD its like the TV is displaying 5 FPS instead of 60FPS and no audio or very broken audio.
Now my HT and networking knowledge would tell me all the info is not getting to my TV. How do I remedy this, it is happening with both Ethernet and MoCa the ethernet is coming out of a piece of Sonos equipment which I have never had bandwidth issues with in the past.
Is MoCa not as reliable or as fast as Cat5e or Cat6? Do I need to drop a home run into my bedroom?
Quick layout for an idea....Fios comes into my attic and hits a splitter that goes down into bedroom and living room which are right next to each other. Then another two lines run to my sisters laundry room in her Apt.
The ethernet line is running from the Airport extreme in the laundry room to behind my HT system where it goes into a Monster 10/100 switch and runs out to various devices including the XL4.
Do I need to upgrade the switch? I am not a networking guy I know HT so I am at a loss.
I wrote a whole paragraph and then realized I didn't really know how I felt about this episode. :) Two incredible songs (Sam's number and the Hit List 'journey' number), but the rollercoaster of "love this character, now hate this character, now love them again" is exhausting. Jimmy as a ******bag is annoying, and it's been annoying for weeeeeeks. I can't believe Jeremy Jordan didn't bitch and moan about how much everyone would hate his character.
I can't decide if I want to see Ivy's mother return or not. I think it's going to be a pretty lengthy story arc. :/
Seems like the XOD roll-out is on pause. I don't think the list of cities on TiVo.com
has been updated for 2 or 3 months. I'm selfishly interested in Atlanta :D and curious as to what the hold up is...
Sometimes we all need a little nostalgia in our lives and what better way to look into the past than to re-visit some of our favorite TV programming blocks? In the 80s and 90s, primetime blocks of television were all the rage. The idea was that you could get an audience to tune in to your 8 o’clock show and have them hooked for the rest of the night with a block of similar programming. Then, in the late 90s, something happened that made that a bit more difficult…but let’s Continue Reading
All of a sudden in the past couple weeks, my Premiere has started deleting shows due to a supposed lack of space, yet I consistently have greater than 50% space available.
I've even deleted ALL of my saved programs to see if that would fix it (apparently, a completely empty tivo = 17% full), but it still will delete a new show within ~24-48 hours of recording it, and the "History" menu says it did it for lack of space.
FYI, I have no season passes set as KUID, and my ToDo list doesn't look any different than it has in the years I've owned this Tivo. This is a new problem that's started recently.
I'm currently trying the Clear Program Info/Guide Data option to see if that does anything
Is there a way disable the advertising banner that attaches itself to the pause bar? I don't mind if they appear on the TiVo Central screen, but it takes up space on the pause bar. I know if you press the down key it goes away, but I'm paying for TiVo hardware and programming and dont need to be told to check out products and services I don't want or need.
Thanks for any suggestions
I just installed Wheezy on my laptop. How do I get MetaGenerator and PyTivoMetaGen to work?
I got a Premiere XL4 today, and I'll post more about it later, but it's not doing well in first impressions. First of all, the HD menus are completely unusable, and the SD menus are slow as molasses, but sort-of tolerable, since they are about the exact same speed as the S2. So apparently, TiVo has not advanced the speed of their menu system since 2004.
The installation was also a pain, as it had to connect to the internet 3x, and now it's still processing all the guide data.
One nice surprised was that I have XoD on a SA system that's not listed as having it, and the CableCard setup was great. Out of the companies I've dealt with today, the only one that was good was Comcast. Apparently the world is upside-down today.
The TiVo app is pretty cool too, I was remote controlling it, and the keyboard is great for typing things in to search. We'll have to see how the rest of it is tomorrow when I try to program stuff to record.
The remote is great too. Not quite the S2 peanut, but pretty nice, and it actually is smart enough to turn the AVR and TV on!!!!! I love how it's smart enough to figure out how to do all that at once. We had the S2 remote in it's last days tricked to control the AVR, but now one remote to rule them all, at least at 5:30 in the morning when I just want to watch TV. The only thing is can't do is switch inputs, but I guess I can't complain, as most setups aren't switching using video processors that have discreet codes from the TV and AVR.
Jacob was great! I want someone to freak out the pixie. She creeps me out. :)
I wasn't fully paying attention when Molly walked in at the end, and was temporarily so disappointed that Claire really was a follower. Ha! Had to rewind...
Suppose she still may be, of course.
I have a love / hate relationship with this show. Have to watch, though!
What did you think?
So I am looking to shift one of my lower monthly priced Premieres to my parents and take their Premiere off their account. I know that Tivo used to offer a $99 Lifetime option for HD owners looking to cancel but I was wondering if that offer has migrated to the Premieres. Thanks for the help.
Curious if TiVo has added or address this issue yet? <well its not a defect type issue, more of a request>
On my Hopper from Dish and even my DirecTV DVR prior to that, I could quickly delete a show via one of the short-cut buttons on the remote.
Where as if I recall on the current Premiere TiVo you had to navigate through a few menu prompts to delete an episode. Is this the end of the world - nope
but it is a feature the wife enjoys and would be a check in the pros column vs cons.
I have a Galaxy Nexus that just received the Jelly Bean update. I'm no longer able to connect to any of my Tivo boxes with the Tivo app.
Is this a known problem?
When will an update be released?
