Anyone know if Tivo plans to add more apps. I would like to see ESPN Watch, NBA League Pass, and Amazon Prime added. Glad they have the MLB app though.
So I finally moved to the new tivo's. After having three S2's, and with Charter in my area going totally digital, I decided to get a Roamio.
I'm sure I will have some questions, and will be looking around here for answers, but I have a question about the CC.
Not ever needing one, I thought it was just a card. I went to the cable co to pick one up. They gave it to me, plus a little box, about the size of a small cable modem.
I asked what it was for and the agent had zero idea. After going thru tivo install I inserted the CC. Couldn't get it to work. I called Charter and they went thru some stuff. During the call I asked them about this little box and they had no idea either. Since we never could get the tivo to work with the CC, I decided to try and plug the box in. So, I put it between the cable and the tivo. After quite a while the tivo started to get channels.
Is this box normal? I didn't think anything else was needed with a CC, but I guess I was wrong.
I have had a Stream for about a year now. But, lately I am unable to use it. This all started about a 10 days when several TIVO premiere subscribes and various regions were having the C133 error which was eventually resolved by TIVO.
On the back of the stream, the white light is solid and the other lights show me that I have network activity. When I run the setup, it finds my stream on the network but fails after step 1, where the setup is trying to find the software version. When I attempt a service call via the app, the button turns "grey" as if its attempting to make a service call. Once the button becomes solid again, I've attempted to restart the device using the button but nothing happens.
When I view the system info screen, all the info is populated except MAC address, software version. Those say unknown. But it does list an IP address so I know the stream is being recognized.
I've spoke with tech support and they've unlinked and relinked my stream to the tivo account but that does not solve the issue either. I have also rebooted my tivo, router and modem several times.
I have a tivo premiere using Comcast cable card. Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
I have a Model TCD648250B series 3 Tivo I picked up from Costco. It has life time service. The Tivo is currently in our bedroom and we have a Verizon DVR in the living room. I'm thinking of ditching the Verizon box with it's monthly fee as I like the Tivo better. I'm figuring on having two, possibly three tv's connected. Ideally, having use of DLNA but using Vuze and manually transferring more or less works too.
Options? Should I get a Roamio (I assume plus)? Pluses and minuses of keeping the series 3 or selling it and buying new stuff? I've been doing some reading but I'm still a bit unclear what I might be missing either way.
I have Comcast service and 10 days ago I lost half the channels on my living TV.
Some that I used to get now say "channel not available".
Comcast has been running me around in circles telling me it's one thing or another or another. First it's this, then that and finally something else.
They say they are sending a signal to my cable box - UM - I don't have one and have told them that. I only have 2 TiVo's and 2 cable cards.
The series 3 TiVo in my kitchen still has all the channels I have had for the last year and no issues.
My living room premiere TiVo lost a bunch of the channels that are in the next tier up in the package. Stuff like FX, SyFy, TNT, etc.
Now, they told me it was because my special ran out and so I went thru the pain of getting resigned for a new package that will give me those channels. I come home and still no extra, just the basics.
I have someone coming tomorrow to bring a new cable card and try that but I am wondering why my cable card would only read half the signal or mess up only half of the channels.
Is that possible?
I have reached out to the Plex team to see about them helping us and all to work on a HTML5 client. If anyone can pull this off it's them.. So many variations of that product are in use for multiplatform. Just note it's going to take time.
Hmm.. Nice to see Marshall with the mother. Didn't care much for the lead singer story though.
There was clearly some forced emotion with the whole "Robin doesn't want Lily to move to Rome because she'll lose her best friend."
I am curious how Ted decides not to move to Chicago now. If he meets the Mother on the train platform on Sunday night, and is scheduled to move to Chicago on Monday, I just don't see how he can change his mind that fast.

My HR10-250's tuners may be dying - I've been having intermittent signal issues over the past few weeks (yeah it's not raining!) and last night I turned on the TV to find the Signal Info Error screen staring me in the face. Rebooting didn't resolve the issue and my older DirectTV box could get signal fine. I screwed around with the satellite cables for a bit and got things going again except satellite 2 wouldn't receive ENCW 536 (all the stations around it would come in fine, though and satellite 1 had no problem with it). I decided to swap the cables and as soon as I disconnected satellite 1, ENCW came in fine on satellite 2! Completed the swap and the station is now coming in fine on both (Cable short, flakey tuner or flakey LNB?)
Assuming it ends up being the tuners - Weaknees offers a $159 repair service or I can get a new HR22 for $200. Obviously I don't subscribe to the HD channels with the HR10-250 (which always makes for an eventful call whenever I call DirectTV) but I don't really care to get the HD channels. I do use the OTA features of the HR10-250 to get some of the sub-channels that directv doesn't carry so I'd have to get the OTA box to go with the HR22.
Anyone have a preference?
(oh - if I buy from weaknees do I "own" the HR22 or does that still count as leasing from Directv? Do I still pay the monthly DVR fee? I'm lifetime'd on the Tivo so I should be able to avoid the additional Tivo fee)
A WTF moment. Watching tv at 10;30 pm and have a TiVo update. Not the first. But after this one I have no sound and a very pixeled screen. Tivo syas my snr is to high (43dB) The DVR worked just fine before the update. any suggestions. Thanks
how the hell do you open the battery compartment of the pro?
yeah im serious! i cant get it open for the life of me. I feel like im going to break it.
My two Premieres both have Lifetime Service Plans, on the tivo site it shows under Current Payment Plan--
the XL4 shows ----------TiVo Package, Product Lifetime
the 2tuner P4 shows ---TiVo Lifetime Service
the XL4 does have the 3 yr ext warranty and that is indicated under the Device heading. The XL4 was lifetimed at purchase I believe, (not by me), the P4 was lifetimed by me after 3 years of use.
Any reason why the Lifetime plans are not named alike?
I have what is probably a silly question and I'm pretty sure the answer is "no" but I'm going to ask it anyway.
Since Amazon Prime can't stream to TiVo, but can stream to an iPad, can an iPad send it out to the TiVo (and ultimately the TV) as it streams?
Just got my Tivo Raomio Plus and the Tivo Mini. Trying to run setup just for the Roamio now. I am plugged into coax. Setup says there is a problem with Moca. do I need to do anything on my router to enable it?
I am using the router as the Moca point, not the Tivo, correct?
ok, it is working now, and I didn't do anything different. I just tried it again and now it works.
Is there anything I will need to know when I setup the mini?
I knew to not try to use the wireless setting for the Roamio because I heard others couldn't turn it off.
Brian is back! - actually he never went anywhere.
That happened quicker than I expected.
Swapping out a new Roamio Basic for my Premier. Thought it would be an easy swap. I got the Basic today and swapped out the drives, dropping a 2tb in it. No sweat. Normally, we run set up before inserting the cable card but on the Basic the cable card slot is underneath and to the side of the box. Very inconvenient. Usually they are in the front. So, I guess I'll run set up then unplug everything so I can get the cc in. Doesn't make sense. Also, they changed the plug so now I've got to hunt through 16 or so plugs in the rear of my messy av set up to find the Premier plug. Just venting I guess.
