On our Elite and Roamio we went through Browse TV & Movies and selected the "Follow Your Favorite Team" option and selected "Record this Collection". During the first 4 weeks of the NFL season TiVo cheerfully recorded our teams from with this collection, but it stopped working last Sunday. My first suspicion was bad guide data, but I created a regular wishlist limiting to Sports - Football - team name and it is recording along just great. The problem with the wishlist is that you can't tell it to record extra time and it collects bunches of ESPN shows about the NFL and team names are commonly in the description.
Anyone else out there successfully recording their favorite teams with the "Follow Your Favorite Team" collection?
Didn't see that coming. Torn between good writing and way-to-make-the-past-three-episodes-irrelevant.
Anyone looking to sell a working Series 3 power supply...Part # SPWR-00008-000.
I am looking to buy.
Looking for the card to replace my dead clicking one.
Please email me.
Ok, I've been a LONG time Tivo user. However I have no clue how to return to a paused rec show while browsing the menus.
So if I pause the recorded show im watching to lets say "set a season pass" the rec show is paused in the little window. I can restart the playback by pressing play. But how do I close the menu to go to the show? If I hit clear it just sends me to live TV.
For years I've just been going back to the show in the list of recorded shows and I would select resume. however resume is not an option if im near the end of the show.
So im hoping there is an easier way?
Logitech Harmony Touch with roamio controls presets suck. I can't configure it to get all the buttons just right.....also, doesnt come preset with clear button, or skip back or 30 skip....anyone found the right setup?
TiVo Premier info showed program being recorded. Red light was on during recording. Program did not show up in the My Shows list and still does not show up after a restart. This happenend one day after both tuners stopped working, which seemed to be repaired by a restart. Crummy software?
I have a lightly used Series4 (TCD746320) w/2TB upgrade and LIFETIME service for sale.
Feel free to ask any questions!
I have a direct TV and a Tivo Premier and a Tivo HD, all connected to the same router. They have always shown up in my network until today. I had uploaded movies from my pc to the tivos without problems. (save the normal ones)
Now I can not see the tivo's on my computer network map and I can not see my computer on either tivo. I do see the direct tv recorder on my home network, and I don't see my home network on my tivo's. I have rebooted everything and to no avail. I have also done a reconfigure of the tivo's network connection. They are connected.
Tivo upgraded (that is questionable) and now I cannot see what is new in the schedule listing and I noticed last night my Tivo does not show the % of recording time left.
Is there anything I can do??
I bought a Roamio Plus from Amazon to replace a failing S3.
I can't believe how much time it had to spend "upgrading" before I was able to interact with it. Seriously, two upgrades just to power up for the first time? And each "should take less than an hour"?
Time-Warner Cable [North County San Diego] was oddly helpful and helped me pair my Cable Card over the phone. THAT was a great surprise that they didn't require a truck roll. Score one for TWC.
What I thought would be an easy call to Tivo to activate service was really frustrating. They are transferring service from my old Tivo (I presume that eliminates minimum contracts?) but because I called fairly late in the day on a Saturday, they don't think a supervisor will be able to approve the transfer before... MONDAY. What? How is this not a 24x7 capability?
Oh and also, I want to transfer shows from another Tivo in the house and from Tivo Desktop. Today, obviously. Apparently that won't work for several days either, as MAKs are exchanged during the nightly calls and it takes several "calls" from each before key exchanges are done.
So a day later my new Tivo is still nagging to activate service, and the oddest error message appears in Tivo Central: "Go to UNKNOWN and enter your Tivo Service number to active this UNKNOWN." Huh?
Doesn't Tivo realize that when someone pays hundreds of dollars for a new entertainment gadget, they expect a great experience right away?
Doesn't Tivo understand that we are sort of past the paradigm of "Nightly Calls" from the boxes and that modern web architectures shouldn't have this limitation?
Oh, and a curse upon their designers for introducing the A-B-C-D color coded remote keys. My Harmony One doesn't have a good place to put those (ugh more soft keys) and I really don't want a Harmony Touch.
So for the first time ever, my cable company comes away with a far better unboxing experience than Tivo. Note: UNKNOWN wants to use UNKNOWN right now without UNKNOWN service being UNKNOWN.
anyone seen this show added to a local network in their area? It's kinda like 'Castle', except shot in and around St. Johns, Newfoundland. Colorful visuals, great cast and the wonderful Newfoundland/Labrador accents.
Russel Crowe (and several character actors you may recognize) have done guest shots. A local station, KCODT Orange County, Ca. just picked it up.
Anywhere else in the U.S.?
It's pretty fun...useless, but fun.
When I try to view my laptop photos under Music & Photos on my 4 tuner Premier that was advertised as THE single product needed for Internet & TV
I know that the Netflix application doesn't work, locks up after several minutes but is the Music & Photo app dis-functional too?
If so, this is sad because I've been a TiVo customer since early 2001 back when their products and service were something you'd go out of your way to advocate to others. Premier was advertised as THE single product needed for Internet & TV.
I read there is buffering and thus a delay in watching live tv.
1 - Can anyone tell me how long it takes from the time you change the channel until the live program plays?
I assume the time is basically the same when changing the channel again and such.
2 - I also am wondering what happens when the mini goes into "sleep" mode?
My wife sleeps with the tv on, is this going to drive her nuts?
Just in time to aid in diagnosing your suddenly sick Series 3, you can get a free digital multimeter.
Look in your Sunday paper today (October 20, 2013) for the Harbor Freight Tools circular.
(It probably helps if there's a Harbor Freight retail outlet in or near your community.)
There's a coupon in there for a free meter.
(You do have to actually go into the store with the coupon, but you don't have to buy anything else)
Remember when calculators that only did the basic 4 functions (+, -, *, /) sold for several hundred bucks and now you can get one for $2.95 or maybe free inside your breakfast cereal?
Well, same trend has happened with digital multimeters.
So cheap doesn't necessarily mean worthless.
Get up with someone else getting one of these and put one on DC Volts and the other on resistance/continuity and see what the polarity is of the current the second one uses to test resistance and continuity, so that if you ever need to know, you already will.
In the old days of "analog" moving needle meters, the red lead, usually thought of as the "positive" lead because that's the one you used to make contact with the positive terminal of a direct current source, became the source of "negative" electrons when switched to the Ohms function, and the black lead, usually "negative" when measuring current or voltage, became the return path for those electrons, so that the negative lead was positive and the positive lead was negative.
Not doing it that way would have made switching from Volt/Amp functions to Ohm functions more complicated.
Most digital meters these days, when putting out current to measure resistance and continuity, make the black lead the source of electrons and the red lead the more positive return path for them.
But I can't swear that they all do, so it's a good idea to check it in advance so that you'll know if you ever need to.
What put hundreds of shows in Tivo Thumbs List??
I just got approximately two dozen suggestions. I usually only see one or two. It said to press [enter] to view the list of thumbs. There's hundreds of shows in there that I have never watched and would not rate 3 green thumbs-up. How do I clear that list??
If there's anyone left here I have some TiVo series 1 bits that may be of use to someone.
As part of my biggest ever spare room clear out I have unearthed the following
A TiVo series 1 I think it may be faulty.
A TiVo hard drive bracket with a hard drive attached
A TiVo original A drive
A cache card again may be faulty.
Can be collected from Putney, SW15 as soon as possible!
Contact mark on oh two oh, eight seven eight nine six three two oh.
I have an original Series 3 (with the clock) that has lifetime service. Needs a new power supply or capacitor. Will throw in a Wireless Network N adapter.
another year done...no Japan this year? down to the wire between the Kiwi and the Brazilian
So this just started happening two days ago with my Roamio Plus. Every now and then (maybe once an hour) my audio drops out. If I push the tivo button or change channels the audio comes back. Audio is set to Dolby Digital. The Roamio is connected with HDMI to my Pioneer receiver and then HDMI to my tv. Anybody else have this problem or know how to fix it?
Signed my box up requesting the 2013 Fall update.
Anyone received it yet? Would like to know version #.
