Fox just announced they are going to air Junior Masterchef, where the chefs are ages 8-13. (It also announced that it picked up Hell's Kitchen for another season ("Don't shut it down!"), and (regular) Masterchef for another two.)
Didn't Fox learn anything with American Juniors?
Actually, maybe it did; AJ made sure Simon Cowell had nothing to do with it, at least on the air (somebody was afraid of the backlash if Simon started making fun of a 12-year-old, or even just telling him that he can't sing), but according to the Junior Masterchef announcement, Gordon Ramsay will be one of the hosts.
What's next - Junior So You Think You Can Dance? (or, for that matter, So You Think Thirtysomethings Can't Dance?, considering how many people call for SYTYCD to get rid of its maximum age limit, and which is more likely as I'm pretty certain the reason SYTYCD has an 18-year-old minimum rather than the 15 of Idol or 12 of The X Factor is because of child labor laws and the amount of time it takes to teach someone dance choreography)?
According to the article, the show is close to getting renewed. The season finale tied American Idol with adults under 35. I would guess that's a great thing for any NBC show these days.
Part of me was hoping they would cancel it so a streaming provider could pick it up and bring back Harmon.
It appears the salary dispute has been settled -- announcement today
that Duck Dynasty will return for a fourth season. No date mentioned...
OK so the other day the reactivation of my Series2 came through. I did this to transfer some recordings before I retire it for good. I have a Mini, Premiere and PremiereXL4. The Mini sees it in the menu as
! + the serial # of the S2, not with its name(Series 2 Classic). It also gives an error that it can only playback from a Premiere or newer (expected). The Premiere boxes nor Tivo Desktop (newly downloaded and installed) sees the S2. I verified that it still retained the proper network settings. I have an IP scanner that confirms that it is seen by the network. I also verified that it has been activated for several days from the web page.
The end is nigh…at least for this season. We’ve made it easy to record all of this year’s season finales with our “Finale Season” collection. Select “Find TV, Movies & Videos”, then choosing “Browse TV & Movies”, from there select the “Finale Season” collection so you can make sure you’re recording all of this season’s crazy cliffhangers, tearful goodbyes and series enders. But before all is revealed, here’s our top five wishlist for what we’d like to see in this year’s finales: 1. The Mother reveal isn’t all that it seems on How I Continue Reading
Is that reality show with jousting (I think on history) coming back?
This is a contributed blog post by Kristin Cavallari. Kristin Cavallari is a paid spokesperson for TiVo. My first Mother’s Day is quickly approaching, and I couldn’t be more excited. There really aren’t words to describe the joy that being a mother brings and what it’s like seeing the world through Cam’s eyes. Being a new mom definitely has its challenges, though. The best advice I’ve received is to not listen to advice because every mom and baby is different. With that in mind, one piece of advice I would Continue Reading
I've had my TiVO for years now and never chose to switch to a lifetime because I was waiting for the next great box but I never thought the Premiere was it. But now I am sitting here paying a monthly fee and passed the lifetime cost twice over. What should I do? I see in the spring sale they have the Premiere XL available with a lifetime. Or should I just change my TiVo HD sub to a lifetime a suck it up?
No thread for season series finale?
I thought the whole season felt kind of flat, but I still enjoyed the ride. Sad to see it go, but with Harmon out this was the best goodbye we could ask for.
It still might get renewed though... Who knows what's going on at NBC.
To me the acting is superb and the sets and costumes are perfect. Of course, I'm a sucker for period shows. In a recent after-show storyline they explained they did everything first class because they expected to use the sets for years. I hope so.
Another hour episode, but a solid hour.
Not sure if I should have this here or the HH forum so feel free to move.
A few people asked me for this so here's my pics from NJ :)
(some of the thumbnails aren't showing for whatever reason but the full image will if you click it)
And I have done a Jensen, Jared and Matt VIP review so far so I can add that if interested, they are LONG (ans far less fangirly that last time!)
Sheldon: See what happens when you let girls play D & D.
I have a comcast M card in my Premiere. It has worked fine for about a month. Tivo rebooted and now I am not getting all of my channels. I am not getting any about 100. What do i do?
I have a S2 Tivo and an S3 Tivo. I installed pyTivo and set it up according to the installation instructions.
Both Tivos see pyTivo.
The S3 can pull: 1) HD & SD video in standard Tivo format (.tivo files), 2) HD video that has been decrypted (.mpg), and HD video that has been decrypted & re-encoded as mpeg4 (.mp4).
The S2 can pull: 1) SD video in standard Tivo format (.tivo files), 2) HD video that has been decrypted (.mpg), and HD video that has been decrypted & re-encoded as mpeg4 (.mp4).
A) The S2 cannot pull HD video in standard Tivo format (.tivo files). The transfer never starts -- the S2 says there was an error.
B) I cannot push anything from pyTivo. When I pull up the pyTivo home page in my browser, I only see "Web Configuration". I do not see the sections "Pull from Tivos" or "Push form video shares". In the pyTivo box, after "scanning for tivos", it lists my two Tivos. So it sees them, but they do not appear on the home page.
This is a weird one - I was watching the live TV buffer today on my P4 - (no other tuners being used), and had scheduled to record something on the same channel I was watching, starting soon.
I was probably 20 minutes behind real time in the buffer - when the recorder commandeered the tuner I was viewing and re-changed the channel - (to the same one I was watching) and started recording.
No other tuners were being used.
The entire buffer was blown out and skipped up to the current real time moment as it began recording. As a result, that 20 minutes I had left queued up were gone.
Why didn't it user any one of the other idle, THREE tuners just sitting there?
Hi all, I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on a XL4 and mini to replace my two cable company provided crappy dvr's. I just want to confirm that i am un derstanding what I have read on connecting these two together. The XL4 will be in the living room. I happen to have my incoming cable, cable modem and router right next to where the XL4 will be. The incoming cable is on a splitter, with one split going to cable modem and other to dvr. In the bedroom I don't have any Ethernet connections, just the coax cable going to the dvr. So if I understand right, all I would need to do is plug the XL4 into the router(with of course the coax going to XL4) and the mini into the coax cable in the bedroom and these will communicate? I don't need to purchase a moCa adapter to make these work together? Thanks so much!
