Upgraded to Romio, ipad app stopped working

Recently added a new Roamio today to my existing two Premieres. I had a stream, which I unplugged.

When I try to use the ipad app, I get the login screen asking for a media access key. I check the DVRs and the key is the same key that it has always been.

I enter the key, and I'm immediately punted back to the login screen.

Roamio Upgrade Offer

I received a Roamio upgrade offer, back in November, which I recently took advantage of, and am setting up today.

It was for a Roamio Plus for $749 with lifetime service ($150 off the regular price).

What I can't figure out anywhere is whether or not activating this Roamio will deactivate service on one of my lifetime Premieres. The offer does list the TSN of one of my Premieres, but doesn't say anything about deactivating service on that Premiere.

(It's particularly important to me, as I'd really rather 'replace' the other Premiere, since the one with the TSN listed in the letter has a bunch of programming that would need to be transferred)

The last December bought a Tivo Roamio Plus from ABT.com with the offer $339.99, expecting sell my Tivo Elite Premiere aka 4XL wiht LTS and purchase a Lifetime Service for $399 for the new Tivo Roamio Plus.

I realized later that my account doesn't shows the Multi-Service Discount (MSD) the first month of service for the Tivo Roamio Plus, I chat today with Tivo via online and the represent told me that I don't qualify for MSD monthly or lifetime so I was decided to cancel my service and return my brand new Tivo Roamio Plus.

I called to Tivo Customer Service and request cancel the service and they asked me why, I explained that I did not get any discount anyways being a loyal customer for years and several Tivos in my account. The represent inquiry me if I got the discount in the Lifetime Service $100 I would get, I answered NO, so he put me on hold for a while and comeback with this offer.

Tivo will transfer my actual Lifetime Service from the Elite Premiere to my Roamio Plus, and I will pay $199 for get a Lifetime Service for the old Elite Premiere. I will save $200 or $100 depending if you qualify or not for the MSD.

The Elite Premiere I will sell on Ebay to recover the cost of my $199 LTS and the new Roamio Plus, so I can ask more to Tivo. ;) :up:

Been on for a while now.

I keep missing it, trying to do some catch-up On Demand.

Same guys, naturally, same show as American Chopper, but it centers only on Senior's shop, with a new guy (Evan) doing some fabrication and some managing. Sort of a replacement for Paulie.

One I'm watching right now-
For some reason Evan keeps his RV-type trailer on the OCC property. They prank him by tipping it over using a forklift.

He finds out and tries to get out of Sr.'s office to stop what's going on. Christian blocks him and Evan ends up putting his fist thru a wall.

I'm possibly about to upgrade to a Roamio, and I'm wondering what to do with my current Premiere. I use Streambaby all the time and love it. Does anyone know if Streambaby would still work on the Premiere, even if I remove it from my account so I don't have to pay the monthly fee?

I know that the Premiere won't work with live TV any more, and I assume it also won't work with MRV (so no pushing shows from another Tivo, to the Premiere), but I'm unclear about Streambaby.

Two Roamio Pro units, both defective with front panel issues?

I purchased a Roamio Pro directly from Tivo on 12/27/13 under the "save $100 when transferring the service from another device", working to have this upgrade a S3 that has been in service since 2006. The Roamio Pro arrived on 01/03/14 and I worked through activating it with a service transfer and then activating the S3 again to get shows pulled off of the S3 to the Roamio Pro.

Over this past weekend in the process of doing the transfers, I noticed that the blue transfer indicator light on the right section of the front panel on the Roamio Pro would not light up at any time. The green power indicator and the amber response indicator on the left side of the front panel would light up, though nothing on the right side of the front panel. Called Tivo Tech Support on 01/06/14, asked them about the transfer light not illuminating on the front panel and the tech confirmed that the light should be on when transferring the shows from another device to this unit. The tech then went to go start discussing doing an advance exchange of the unit and while on hold about that process, the call ended on Tivo's end. Not wanting to start over again with another tech support discussion, I ordered a new Roamio Pro from Amazon on 01/07/14.

The new Roamio Pro arrived on 01/09/14 and I set it up this morning (01/10/14), having called Tivo last night to move the service from the first Roamio Pro to the new unit and then temp activate the old Roamio Pro so I could pull shows from the old Pro to the new one.

After starting to transfer shows, this second Roamio Pro also didn't have the blue transfer light illuminate on the front panel like the first unit. I can't check to see if the record indicators light up since I've had issues with Charter and getting cable cards to pair up with the first Roamio and they're showing up next week to bring a tech, multiple CableCards and multiple tuning adapters with them to get the CableCard issue worked out.

I've called Tivo tech support about the second unit and they're completely baffled about the situation with both units. Since the first rep indicated that the first Pro is defective, it's not a huge leap to assume the second one is also defective.

I would think that the chances of getting two devices that are defective from two vendors that were manufactured more than a month apart is pretty much zero, especially when it's the same defect.

From every illustration I've seen on the Romaio product page (www.tivo.com/shop/roamio), the Transfer indicator is clearly shown next to to the recoding indicators.

I have both units being replaced from both Tivo and Amazon and I hope to get a working unit on Monday.

Has anyone purchased a Roamio Pro and had a non-working front panel display? Seems like an odd issue and I couldn't find anything in any searches about this being an issue.

Changing channel lineups - From antenna to cable

Comcast had a really good deal that makes my internet cheaper + adds TV and HBO for a year.

I have had antenna since S3 first came out. Now I am switch to a cable card on my Roamio.

My comcast is all setup and I have deleted all the SD channels. I have 15 HD channels and HBO...

Now all my season passes were on channels 2.1 5.1 now switch to 801 and 802...

Will my seasons passes update to the new channels or do I have recreate everything? thanks!

I just used my last power supply. They seem to becoming harder to find these days. I cant justify paying $50 plus for a "pulled from a known working unit" off fleabay or $70 from weak site. If they were new with a revision then maybe. Does anyone know of a repair option to fix the bad ones?

Trouble Transfering Shows Recorded on Roamio to Tivo HD using Tivo Desktop

I'm having trouble transferring shows that I recorded on my Roamio to my Tivo HD via Tivo Desktop.

I downloaded them to my PC from the Romaio no problem with Tivo Desktop no problem. When I pull them up on the Tivo HD via Tivo Desktop I get a message saying "This recording cannot transfer because its format is HD which is incompatible with this DVR".

Anybody else run into this? I can transfer the same shows back to my Romaio and then transfer them to the Tivo HD no problem. But the Tivo HD normally isn't in the same house as the Romaio so that isn't always an option.

Music Choice - Brighthouse lineup now hidding

Every Digital subscriber with a CableCard has access to Music Choice which starts on 400-447 at least that's the way it was until about a week ago when I received a funny update showing that list as DELETED. Now here is where I yell fowl. You can physically type in 402 or any of the music stations and it will tune to an active music station. But if I go to browse my guide I jump a few hundred stations in the 600 range.

Truthfully It does not matter to me as less than 2 1/2 weeks before cable tv is deactivated. But for others this might spark concern if you liked the flashing graphics with ads.

New Roamio Show Transfer issue

ok, so heres my problem.

I recently bought a new Roamio Plus to replace my current Premiere box.
I activated the roamio but havent put my cable card in the box yet...Since its still in my premiere....connected it to my tv and network.

Im trying to transfer over my shows from the prem. to the Roamio but nothing seems to happen. I selected around 3-4 shows and selected transfer. They are now in the "to do" list but doesnt seem to be actually doing anything...and its been hours now.

Ive been in contact w/ Tivo Cust service and they made me unplug the tivo for 2 minutes and also clear the "to do" list / settings. Nothing seems to be working.
Is there another option to try? Ive heard I might have to open a port on my router...??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't transfer from PC to TiVo S3

I have searched all I can but haven't found an answer to my problem. I have, however, found people that have had the same problem but fixed it by doing a re-start of the TiVo - that did not help me - so ... here goes ...

My set up is a TiVo 3 that is connected to my (Cisco) Linksys E2500 Wireless Router via Ethernet with a Windows XP PC running SP3 for XP and the free TiVo desktop version 2.8.2.

I am trying to transfer recorded shows (TiVo 3 recorded shows) from my PC to my S3. Whenever I select a show from the PC (using the S3), the blue light comes on but even though it is the first show I've selected, it says the show will transfer when other transfers are complete. No matter how long I leave it (days), the selected show will never transfer because it is held up by the "ghost transfer".

I can transfer shows from the S3 to the PC just fine. I have an auto-transfer set up for a program that records daily and by the time I get home from work, that show has transferred to the PC with no problems.

I can transfer from another TiVo on my network (an S2 connected via wireless) to my S3 with no problems as long as I haven't selected a program to transfer from my PC first. If I select a show from the S2 to transfer to the S3 by itself, it starts to transfer immediately - the "ghost transfer" does not try to start first. If the "ghost transfer" has been activated (by trying to transfer from the PC), the transfer from the S2 will not work.

It is only when I try to start a transfer from the PC does the "ghost transfer" rear it's ugly head.

I have tried:

Clearing transfers from the To Do list when the blue light is on - I can clear what I have scheduled to transfer but the blue light does not go out.

Restarting the S3 from the menu (about 5 times) - that clears the blue light but does not fix the "ghost transfer" problem. When I try to transfer from the PC, the "ghost transfer" blocks it.

Unplugging the S3 and waiting 2 hours - nets the same result as above.

Unplugging the S3 and disconnecting the Ethernet cable for several hours, powering up the TiVo, waiting several hours before connecting the Ethernet - nets the same result as above.

Unplugging the TiVo and router, then restart the router, then after 20 minutes restart the TiVo - nets the same result as above

Going through the guided setup again - does not clear the blue light and transfers remain blocked

Changing/clearing the TiVo desktop settings in every way that has been suggested on the forums (I think) - nets the same result as above.

I'm out of ideas and am hoping someone out there has experienced this and can guide to the fix.

I have attached the logs from today in hopes that will help.

I really want to love this show because I love Tricia Helfer and Marc Blucas, but "La Sicaria" did not grab me. Maybe they spent too much time trying to introduce the characters?

I'll give it another ep or two, but I sure hope it gets better.

I have one channel that I cannot get to show live TV. It gives me the following message:

"This channel is temporarily unavailable. Press SELECT to try tuning to this channel again. Please contact your cable provider for more information."

No matter how many times I've hit select it never tunes for more than a few seconds before displaying the message again. If I record on the channel, the recordings are fine except for a split second right at the beginning when there is a stuck pixelated screen with no audio then starts to play fine.

To my knowledge, and according to Cox's national tech support line, this is not an SDV channel in my area.

Cox tried re-pairing my M-Card which didn't work then suggested replacing the M-Card which still didn't fix it.

The Cox DVR I have in a different room plays the channel just fine. I've spent awhile checking other channels and none of them seem to be having this issue.

I saw some people in a Roamio thread explaining things similar but I think they were having trouble with the TA sending SDV requests, and their recordings weren't working, so I don't think it's the same issue.

Tivo Premiere Hotspot connection

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm new here, but I'm hoping somebody can help me out.

I own a Tivo Premier that I purchased two years ago. Due to circumstances that I'm not divulging into I no longer have my comcast ISP connection to the web. I am now using a Virgin Mobile hotspot for my web access. While this isn't an issue for my laptop, TIVO hates it.

My questions is, "If possible, How do I connect Tivo to the internet via the hotspot or linking Tivo to laptop via Cat5e to update the device."

I've heard lots of people "bridging" the connection. If somebody could help walk me through that process, that will be appreciated. I'm running win 7 home Premium. I have full 4G LTE service via the hotspot.
