The Red Lights on the front of my Roamio Pro aren't working. Doesn't matter if I am recording 1 or 6 shows, no (red) lights come on. The Power and Remote lights do work, but not the red ones. I haven't downloaded anything yet, so don't know about the blue light. I did check the settings and made sure the front lights switch was "on".
Any ideas as to why they aren't working? Anyone else having similar issues or know how to get them working?

Cox Cable, Gainesville Florida, TiVo HD I think (it's at my mom's house right now), newly brought back up after spending some time offline, freshly installed and paired CableCard. Works like a charm, just like it did when I had it up and running many moons ago when I had the same cable service, except...
The current subscription package includes a tier of channels called the Variety pack. Some of those channels (4 I believe) do not come up when tuned to. They have listings in the Guide data, but tuning to them will either show a black screen, or sometimes show the TiVo message that Channel Not Available.
We swapped out CableCards and re-paired, and the same channels have the same problem. The Signal Strength screen and DVR Diagnostics screen show 100 signal strength almost all of the time. I vaguely remembered the signal being too strong sometimes causing problems with TiVo, so I put some attenuators inline (up to 24db at one point) until the numbers came down from 100 to no avail.
And herein lies the tricky part. When I force the tuner to one of the "bad" channels, and go to the DVR Diagnostic screen, most of the information is empty and there's a strange looking text blurb in one of the data spots that reads like "Card / tuner in invalid state" or something to that effect (again, sorry I didn't write more of this down...obviously if asked I can gather necessary information and post it.) If I bring up the Signal Strength overlay, it will not tune to that channel at all; the channel up/down skips past it, and typing in the number jumps to the next channel in the lineup.
When the "bad" channel displays "Channel not available" I cannot record it. When it's a black screen, I can record it, but playing the recording back later indicates it actually recorded the previous channel in the lineup.
She had a Cox subcontractor out, (I was not there at the time, this is second-hand knowledge) but supposedly used his smartphone to measure the lines and he seemed to say the line leading to this outlet was too weak (which goes against what the TiVo is saying but I'm no expert.) She called Cox and told them all the stuff he did / didn't do and they seemed to think he was an idiot and will send out a Cox employee next to see if he can figure it out. I imagine a call to TiVo is next, but I need to look up their support policies as this one is several years old.
I figured I'd troubleshoot in parallel here in case this is a common issue that people know what the problem is. My next step is to move the TiVo to another room temporarily to see what happens and if anything is different, just to rule out what the sub said.

since comcraptic gave me a very hard time i am sad to say I no longer am able to use my TIVO. Is there a market for a used TIVO???
I can't get purchased HD Instant Video rentals to download and play correctly on my Tivo HD (model 652). I rent and initiate from the Amazon web site.
SD videos download and play fine. HD videos start downloading but either the download speed is ridiculously slow or it stalls completely, although in one case a 2-hr movie downloaded in 4 hrs -- but it stalled during playback just 15 mins into the video and there was no way to play the rest of it. This same movie, on a retry, was still downloading after 12 hrs upon which it quit and the message in the To Do Recording History said someone at my end cancelled it (not true).
I've tried several HD downloads and they all exhibit the same issues.
I've unregistered and re-registered my Tivo -- no change. My TiVo is on wired ethernet that tests greater than 10 Mbps download speeds. I have a BR player that can stream these same videos even over WiFi with no problem.
I've restarted the TiVo. I have 11.0m software now and the problem was the same with 11.0k.
Amazon wants me to reboot my router and then call them (again) if I still have problems. They claim to have great diagnostic tools they can apply to this problem -- but not til I reboot the router. So I'll do that ..... then test their great diagnostic powers. :rolleyes:
Hello. I just installed my Roamio Pro last night and attempted to setup some Season Passes for some of the shows I record on a DTV DVR. I started with my local news that comes on each night at 9PM or 10PM. I first tried to record the Fox News at 9PM and it wouldn't give me a Season Pass option - only a single show. So I went on to the 10PM news on ABC/CBS/NBC and all three were able to setup a Season Pass with no issues. I went ahead in the guide a few days and it was there and did show the Fox News being repeated each night at 9PM, so I'm confused as to why it would give you a Season Pass option for some shows and not others that are clearly repeating each night? I know I'm new to Tivo, but this seems pretty basic and quite odd. Curious if anyone else has run into this issue.
I just installed a new Roamio Pro last night and recorded a few sample shows to start learning how to do things with the Tivo vs. DTV DVRs. This morning I still had around 440 HD hours left to record and one of the shows I recorded last night had a yellow mark next to it starting it was about to be deleted. How is this possible with 440 HD hours left?? I did set it up as keep until it needs the space, but with 99% space left, I don't understand why it would start to even attempt to delete a show so soon.
Am I doing something wrong or is this perhaps a bug? Thanks in advance.
Just noticed this today. Launchpad for TiVo seems to have been renamed, at least in the menu's as "Web Video Hotlist" Maybe this has something to do with the Roamio launch?
I have 3 TivoHD units that have been running fine for a long time though I don't really use them much. We also have a Premiere that is sees the main use. All have lifetime service on them. The Tivos all have upgrade hard drives with 142 HD hours of recording.
Any idea what these would sell for? I am seriously considering a Roamio with Minis for several reasons. Having these bring in some income later might help swing the deal.
I am trying to copy all my content from my old Premiere to my new Roamio. The Roamio is working fine and can detect the Premiere in my shows. I have forced multiple connections and rebooted both devices. I keep getting"

I am on ethernet wiring.
Can ping both boxes.
Can connect via a browser to both boxes
Can see both DVRs from each other.
Can see both boxes on Tivo.com and checked that they are both enabled for copying and streaming.
The Roamio has only been online for a few hours. Does this just take time to work through Tivo's servers or is something not acting right?
I think it would be cool to have content shortcuts in "My Shows." For example, say I'm watching a TV Show season on Netflix, I could make a shortcut on My Shows directly to the Netflix page for the show.
This would make it easier to keep track of the shows I'm watching all in one place and not have to remember where I was watching them. Obviously there is room for more advanced features to tack onto this like keeping track of new and watched episodes, but I think the simple shortcut feature would be really nice by itself.
I am wondering if Roamio can work with multiple harddrives, one at a time? If it does, then it means unlimited recording space... wow, wouldn't it be nice?
Can someone test this out...
Step 1 - HardDrive#1 with some recording in it already.
Step 2 - Swap out HardDrive#1 with HardDrive#2 and record some programs in HardDrive#2
Step 3 - Put HardDrive#1 back in the Roamio and see if it plays the recording that was in it.
Step 4 - Put HardDrive#2 back in and see if it plays those recording that was in it.
If it works, then we can have 2, 5, 10 and more harddrives and never run out of recording space.
Or I might be just dreaming....
Does the Roamio support Live365?
I am a new Tivo user. On my old Cablevision DVR (SA8300HD), I would frequently watch a recording off my DVR, switch to live TV by typing a channel # or using the last button. Then when I returned to the room (say after a bathroom or drink break), I want to resume watching the recorded program, so I would hit the last button again (bringing me back to a paused recording) and then play.
How does one go about doing something similar on a Tivo?
If I am back on live TV and hit the last button, it tunes to the last channel that tuner was on.
If I am back on live TV and hit the live tv button, it switches tuners.
If I am back on live TV and hit the info and do to the tuner selection tab, the recording is not an option.
The only way I have discovered how to get back to the recording is: Tivo Central >> my shows >> find the program again >> resume playing (which is not very quick)
We just got our new Roamio plus and it won't startup. It keeps cycling from Welcome! Starting up to our TV input and says searching for signal. It keeps cycling the same thing over and over and won't boot up. So now I have an RMA for this brand new unit and have to hook back up my Premiere and Tivo is cross shipping me another unit which should be here in a couple days... So now I'll have 2 x Tivo's for return.. I guess the hard drive is failed or something not sure but it's not working. :-(

So I just got my Mini and went to install it on my old fashioned Standard Def TV. My TV has the usual component cable connections but the Mini has those odd component & A/V ports. What type of cable/connectors fit the Mini? I cant find them anywhere!
