I was just wondering.....I will be switching to Cox Cable from Verizon. Do I have to re-program all of my season passes to the new channel numbers when I switch cable cards? When the Cox tecniction puts in the new cable card will the Tivo loose any of the information stored in the season pass section. Thank you all in advance!!
Hi Folks - I assume this is down for everyone else as well? I just bought (3) TiVo Mini's on Friday to replace 3 of my old TiVo's since they work so well with the Roamio. And before I do that, I need to transfer my season passes (some of the Tivo's have a lot) and content.
Since Saturday I haven't been able to get it to work online - and when I chat with support all they can say is "we don't have an ETA"... very frustrating!
Does anyone have any other information about this?
I'm getting rid of an HR-22 for the tivo HHR?? whatever it is, can't hook it up for some reason so they are sending an installer.
Will the tivo be faster than the Hr22-100 as far as the guide and recordings? That's really my goal here. I would have stayed on the whole home if the rep could guarantee me an HR25 but she couldn't.
Other than whole home and 3d, what will i be missing with the tivo powered unit?
We've had our Tivo for 10+ years, and changed out the hard drive about 5 years ago. There's been no issues up until today. My wife tried to unplug the wifi connector and accidentally pulled out the power plug instead. When she tried plugging it back into the Tivo, a ton of sparks came from the inside. I tried and the same thing happened.
If you plug it in quickly and leave it alone, then the sparks go away...but if you wiggle the connector, the sparks come again. Obviously this is a fire hazard and it's unplugged right now. Any ideas as to what it is and why all of a sudden it's doing this?
I am getting increasingly impatient, frustrated, and annoyed that I cannot stream video from the Roamio (which also means the TiVo Stream) to Android devices, such as my Nexus 10. (I looked for a thread specifically about this and didn't find one) I don't care about OOH (Out Of Home) streaming (at least not yet) but just the ability to watch on my tablet from various places around the house.
It has been something like 1.25 YEARS now, since the Stream was released. Does anyone have any new news about Android support? Was this supposed to be coming in the next update?
Has drive copying been perfected for the Roamio yet?
I have a Plus and I'd like to order a 3TB drive for it, yet keep all my settings and recordings.
The upgrade thread from what I read covered mostly OOB upgrades.
Any trick to get this to work? I plug the dongle into my laptop and keyboard works fine. Plug it into my roamio and it doesn't.
The Newsroom is up for one final season.
There's also an interesting twist.
Joining Sorkin and executive producers Alan Poul and Scott Rudin for Newsroom’s third season is Paul Lieberstein
. The former showrunner of (and actor on) The Office, a Sorkin favorite, will come aboard as an executive producer on the HBO series.
Sad it's the final season, but I'm definitely looking forward to it.
Last night, American tuned into NBC to watch the 71st Annual Golden Globes – an award ceremony in which the Hollywood Foreign Press Association recognizes the best of the best in the film and television industries, both domestic and foreign. Once again Amy Poehler and Tina Fey proved themselves to be arguably the cleverest dynamic duo we could have asked for in our show host[esse]s, taking two of the top five spots on our most watched moments. And here they are! TiVo’s Top Five most watched moments, which were gathered Continue Reading
Saw Tyron in chains, the dude that fights for tyrion, nothing of bran... Have to go look again to find more...
I have a premier TiVo in the closet so it has no line of sight. it is connected to 2 TVs in two different rooms. what I want is one remote in each room for each TV. I'm currently using one slide ver.1 remote for both rooms. I have a friend who is upgrading his Romeo remote to the slide version 2 remote. if he gives me his basic Romeo remote with the new dongle that comes with his slide remote, will I be able to use the basic roamio remote for my second room In coconjunction with my Bluetooth slide in my first room? If not, anybody know if I can get a second original bluetooth slide remote - so that I'd be using 2 Bluetooth slide remotes at the same time?
Another season of the Gallaghers...
I was pretty amazed to discover that not only does the elapsed time for a TiVo recording show, the elapsed time for a playing DVD also shows. I am confounded about how this can work as the DVD player is completely separate with its own connection to the TV. Am I going crazy?
Can it be purchased anywhere besides tivo.com?
MONDAY – How I Met Your Mother – CBS 8PM ET If a title like Slapsgiving 3: Slappointment in Slapmarra doesn’t give away what the episode is about you’ll need to readjust your view of the obvious. Marshall plots to deliver one last slap as part of his and Barney’s ongoing “Slap Bet”, but Barney will not be easily outdone before his wedding. TUESDAY – New Girl – FOX 9PM ET Winston is on the hunt for a new career again and Schmidt will be mentoring an older Continue Reading
Not really familiar with how slingbox works...
I saw this refurbished Slingbox Solo deal for $49:
Here are my issues:
My second TiVo Premiere is in an area which does not offer the Denver local channels in HD...either on cable or OTA.
The free WiFi in this home is very slow, maybe about 1.5 mbps if I am lucky.
Realistically, could I watch recorded (HD) shows from my main TiVo in Denver (smoking fast Internet connection) on my "in-the-middle of nowhere" TiVo that connects to free wifi via a very slow Internet?
I have a lifetime series 3 (TCD652160) that seems to be giving me problems and is in a reboot loop. It basically gets past the "Welcome, Powering Up" screen and proceeds to the "Almost there...". I then reboots.
From reading these forums, this seems like an indication that there is a problem with its hard drive, correct? I will open it up and take a look at the power supply as well, but I actually also have another identical series 3 that is fully working, but not subscribed to and could cannibalize/use it for parts (hard drive or power supply).
Seeing as a lot of S3s are dying though, I am debating several options (in poll).
For those of you who are watching via American television, Sherlock Season 3 has aired in Britain, and there is a fairly major development that will probably be much talked about. So between now and Episode 3, you should probably avoid all press coverage or message board discussions of the show unless you are absolutely sure it will contain no spoilers.
I have been using Moca for several years (and love it), so I should probably know the answer to this, but what is the best way to set up my Tivo Mini and Roku on my network? Right now I have a splitter that sends ones signal to my Mini (to use its internal Moca adapter) and the second signal goes to a Netgear Moca adapter with ethernet connected to the Roku. This works, but it doesn't seem the most efficient to me and I was wondering if there was a way to eliminate the splitter - maybe by connecting the Roku directly to the Mini via the ethernet cable? Or should I chain them via coax cable (first to mini then to Netgear adapter)?
Thanks in advance.
