I thought as everyone else did that the Premiere had faded away. That is not true at all. From TiVo.com (Shopping) and then at the far right corner is Outlets.
Are these the same prices when the product launched or as any of the pricing come down? Then again Tivo "should" reduce pricing or include a 6 to 12 month free service with 3yr commit at 15.95 a month.
I added channels I receive on my new Roamio Plus using my cable lineup card, and I get them live just fine. But the tivo guide just says TBA for all the channels and all slots. I forced a network update, and nothing happened. I have now wait 3 days for the guide to populate and still nothing.
I'm finally ditching my cable co's DVR and moving to tivo. As a new user, is it worth the extra $$ to get a new Roamio over a premiere xl4? I would be looking to get a lifetime subscription, so the difference seems to be around 300 btwn the 2.
This is very odd.
I recorded The Office last night, The Return. Part way thru, TiVo dumped me on channel 3 with an EAS test and stopped responding to the remote except for the yellow circle flash on the panel. Eventually I got back control after 15 min or so.
I tried watching the recording again. Same thing - but w/o the EAS. I rebooted.
Then I tried watching the same episode on Netflix. And it happened there too (no EAS).
TiVo support is saying this is happening on Comcast all over Texas.
This looks like may be a cable card issue where garbage is being sent by Comcast, sometimes garbage looks like CC commands and TiVos don't know how to handle.
Well, I'm not exactly a noobie but I don't keep up with this stuff like you guys, so...
1. I see that Weaknees is selling the plus for 349.95. Is that a good price? Is Weaknees THE place to buy TiVo stuff from?
2. I have the Premier Model TCD746320 - there's no other model info on the set. Is this all I need to know to sell it? It hasn't been modified.
3. Will my Premier remote work with the Roamio?
4. Do all cables come with a new purchase? If not, what else do I need?
Does anybody know if I can set up a Mini to borrow a tuner (or two) from a Roamio Plus or Pro without also giving access to the stored programs on the Roamio?
I want to dump the expensive cable box in a guest bedroom, but I'm not sure I want my guests going through all the shows on the Roamio, especially if they can be accidentally deleted from the Mini.
Alternately, is there yet any means to restrict the Mini's access to the Roamio's shows? (Read-only, parental controls, or anything?)
(I haven't yet bought either device yet, but I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row.)
Does the Live TV button not allocate a tuner? Just got my Mini and Roamio Plus yesterday and noticed after waking up the Mini the Live TV button results in a black screen. If I go to the guide, I get a tuner allocated and then I think Live TV works.
Not sure where to ask this or if it's possible, but I was wondering about adding more memory to my premiere. By that I mean more storage - for regular and for HD. I know people have done it for the Series 2's - I have one that I got from TCF that had it added. Could someone give me a link to a thread where this is discussed?
I was also wondering about the % bar on My Shows. I have about 75 in "deleted show" section because the one I have was bought used and I deleted most all of the old stuff (did find some old Quantum Leaps I was happy to see). Anyway, the % bar shows at 22% and then after a weeks worth of stuff I record it goes to like 26%. It hit 33% last week and I went into the deleted show section and "permanently deleted" a bunch of stuff but that was a pain.
Some of the reason is HD. I am recording more shows in HD now then I ever did before. I changed my cable plan and get more channels. I guess I wonder do I need to worry that much about the storage and if so when do I start?
Seems that Roamio Plus's are back at Amazon w/ a 1 - 2 day extra processing timeframe on them.
And Roamio Pros are instock.
I just purchased a Roamio Pro, which basically has a Stream built into it. I'd like to put the software on my kids iPads, but I can't do it if it will give them the unchecked ability to watch whatever they want, including live TV. I'm wondering if the Stream will recognize the existing parental control settings on the various TiVos throughout my home.
No one was more excited than I to see that the ACC Digital Network had created a Roku channel. And my excitement lasted just long enough to download the channel and fire up highlights of former Duke basketball player Mike Dunleavy. Unfortunately, that’s where the fun ended. Where to start? With the video quality? Horrific. [...]

So got my tivo box last night, had TWC help program it. Worked then i tried a HD channel which caused tons of static and froze my screen.
So i rebooted the device and channels weren't working, so i called TWC and i now had 0 emm count. The tech on the phone says whenever you restart a tivo it will auto go to 0 and you have to call each time to have it fixed?
32 hours later, my first Roamio Pro lock up. I hope this is a one time thing...
No Tuning Adapter connected
Things the Roamio was doing at the time of the lock up.
Recording 5 HD channels, and transfering 1 hd program from a Premier XL4 to the new Roamio.
The lockup froze the screen for 13 seconds, then automatically rebooted itself and continued the recordings. The Room to Room transfer needed to be restarted manually.
No real surprises here I suppose. We figured Aaryn was going home. How interesting that Elissa succeeds in getting out her original target and she's unhappy about it. You screwed up Elissa, and once again, McRanda wind up running the house, by getting out who they wanted.
Was nice to see Julie have a backbone and call Aaryn out on her comments, and even went as far as reading a few of them outloud to her. I knew Aaryn was going to play the "I'm from the South" card. If that's really a reflection on how Southerners behave, then that's really very sad. I hope Julie is right and she reflects on her behavior, but I kind of doubt it.
Another extended HoH competition. I'm debating whether to go look to see who won. I'm kind of afraid to find out!!
And another double eviction next week. I had a feeling that was coming since they brought back someone and there's what, 2-3 weeks left?
I wonder if Andy will stick with the "Exterminators" or slink back to McRanda. I bet if Mcranda wins HoH Andy will be back with them in a heartbeat.
I wondered why GM didn't vote to keep Aaryn in the house, even as a sign of solidarity with "her girl". Aaryn explained why, but I don't think it matters one way or the other, I think GM and Elissa are the next target of McRanda if they win HoH.

I have two Premiers hooked up to FiOS, and I am currently showing a signal strength of 62 to 70 depending on the channel, and where I check it from - on both boxes hooked up to . If I use the Signal Strength Menu, I get 66 on most channels. Anyway... I have FiOS, and I always remember the signal being in the 90s for most channels, and now I'm wondering what happened to lower the signal.
If you have a Premiere, or Premiere XL please check the signal strength, on a bunch of channels, both high an low frequencies, and report back what numbers you are seeing? Please indicate what box you have, and if you have 2 or 4 tuners.
I'm wondering if maybe my ONT is on its way out. I've had it for a while. I'm looking forward to any information you may be able to provide. Thanks!
On occasion, we'll be watching a Netflix TV show or movie.
When we hit pause, we've noticed that we cannot un-pause, or continue playing. When I hit play or the pause button again, the Tivo light indicator will flash so the Tivo does recognize the remote signal, but it will remain in a paused state. The only way to unpause it, is to hit the TiVo button, log back into Netflix, and continue the show/movie where I left off.
Any one else having this prob?
It does not happen ALL the time, but when it does, it is annoying
I'm thinking about upgrading. I was just wondering how you would connect a slingbox 350 or 500 to the base model Roamio. I only see one HDMI out and nothing else.
I am not seeing my 5ghz SSID, only the 2.4gHz one
Hey guys, after hard drive update experiments etc. I FINALLY got Charter to install today. I have a question. I have 2 Roamio (4 tuner boxes) and 1 Premiere (2 tuners) I was given Motorolla MTR700 TA's. Going through the install with a phone rep I got a message saying they only support 2 tuners there for all 4 won't be useable. Does this sound right? I only ask because I had a bunch of stuff set to record and from everything I can tell 4 tuners are recording when I set them on the Roamio. I just checked again and set 4 things to record all in HD and them played each back. So am I good to go? Charter said they would bring the "proper TA's" tomorrow but maybe that message earlier about the tuners was just a glitch?
