On my Tivo HD XL, the Now Playing List is properly sorted by name, except Elementary, which appears at the bottom of the list under Yard Crashers. Why? Shouldn't it be up in the list between D and F?
Just finished watching the next to last episode of season 6 "Full Release". I haven't been following news on the show and was surprised when at the end of the ep the previews for next week mentioned that it will be the series finale. It's been on for 6 years?! Wow, doesn't seem like that long.
I thought it was kind of strange that there have been so many mini-happy endings lately. But that seems like a nice way to end the series.
There is still time for bad things to happen next week, but I really hope Addison and Jake, Cooper and Charlotte, Amelia, Sheldon, Sam, and Violet live happily ever after.
hello we have a tivo premiere in the bedroom with an sd tv we have noticed now shows are being deleted that have been sitting on the tv for ages. before we noticed the change in behavior we could have the tivo as far as 98% full and yet no shows were getting deleted only the ones in the recently deleted folder that we have already watched and manually deleted. now after the change we tried clearing the tivo space to around 70% full with a about 25 sd shows in the recently deleted folder and as I browse through my recorded programs some shows are already being marked for deletion within 24 hours. in another bizarre twist most of the shows on tivo weather 30 minutes or and hour list as less than 1% (2.05gb) I don't know what to make of it but I figure it may have something to do with what is going on. any thoughts on what the problem could be?
Per request I setup the league again. Sorry past few seasons I don't think I have done this.
Anyway it is simple. Choose the players you think gets reward, immunity, voted off, is safe (choose wisely as once used you can't use again until a certain date) and mystery question. We also have MVP bonus turned on so you choose your MVP before the second episode and earn bonus points if your MVP is one who gets reward, immunity, voted off or mystery question. Early pick is turned off, but in the past a few players somehow still received the bonus.

If I use Tivo Desktop to upload a show to my PC, and subsequently download the same show, the closed captions no longer function. I have verified (with a caption extraction program) that the captions are present in the file on the PC.
This is a killer bug for those of us with hearing problems.
Tivo support has been no help at all so far.
Does anyone have more information or a workaround?
I have a TCD24004A. Lifetime subscription. Installed, downloaded channels, can see whats playing but, when I try to watch live TV it has not video or audio. I have followed the drawings on TIVO website but, still can get it going.
NOTE: There is not a IR cable that came with it. I see in most diagrams it shows one.
Brought the TV Cable into the RF input on DVR, came off the DVR RCA connections (output) to the input connections on the Cable box and from there to the input on the TV.
I would love to hear I,m wrong and find out what to do to get it going.
Ok so I purchased my parents a year of Netflix for their TiVo premier box for Christmas. They had it in the past and it worked fine. The problem is they must try 6-7 different titles to get just one to play. The rest goes to loading page and after a couple mins opens a window that says "We are having trouble playing this title right now. Please Try again later or select a different title".......I have ruled out network issues, I can stream movies on computer + wifi to iphone and ipad ....I have rebooted everything several times... cable modem, router, TiVo
I have tried removing Netflix under My Video Providers and connecting to TiVo service, reboot then adding Netflix back, connect to Tivo service -reboot but no luck  took forever and I had to work in am so I gave up and went home...:(
Any suggestions or anyone else have this issue?
I'm thinking about upgrading to a 4 tuner Tivo and selling one of my 2 tuner Premieres with lifetime. The Premiere has been upgraded to a 2 TB hard drive. What should I expect to get out of it on ebay?

With the upcoming mini, I would really like to see a 4 tuner TiVo unit with the above capabilities. It sounds like the only way to fully utilize the mini (where it borrows tuners) is to have a 4 tuner unit. Unfortunately, there is not one available for the OTA users out there.
I really liked the show last year but either it changed or I changed because I found the first episode to be very pretentious.
Also the whole "sex" scene with Marnie was so distracting with the actress trying to cover herself up from the camera all the time. OK I get it if you are an actress and you don't want to do nudity then the director or the cinematographer need to block it better. Or even leave your bra on but her constantly covering herself with her hands when the guy would move was like she was destroying the 4th wall. Or even don't be a prude, not need for gratuitous nudity but at least take the English actress approach that incidental nudity is fine.
OK, I have an S3 (OLED) unit with lifetime service. About a year ago, it started freezing up on me. I opened up the case and saw a bulging cap on its power adapter. I didn't feel comfortable replacing this cap so I took the power supply out and took it to a local shop to have this one cap replaced. I asked them to test the others and they said they were all good except this one so it was $17 to have this fix.
Got it home, plugged it in and it still ultimately wound up freezing up on me. I then unplugged the coax cable and noticed that it wouldn't freeze up at all on me. I could play back any recorded content fine, transfer to/from the unit, use Netflix, etc. Was just not able to have any kind of 30min live TV buffer. Therefore, I figured the stock 250GB hard drive had somehow gotten corrupted & either needed replacement or a new image to it.
I was then able to get a hold of an Series 3 (OLED) image for it and had a spare Western Digital 500GB SATA drive that would work as a replacement. I finally was able to get the image successfully put on the 500GB drive via a desktop PC. I put it in the S3, powered it up and went through the setup process. All worked good and it was running fine for months.
Now, this S3 is not heavily used and basically in a finished basement rec room. For months, not a lot was recorded to it and it essentially is a cable box for when guests or family members were over and staying in that area of the basement. All has worked good, but over time I decided to use this S3 to start programming some season passes & record some weekly shows. Then offload/MRV them to our main Premieres upstairs. Sort of as an additional storage device on the side.
Well, just the other day I noticed it is starting to freeze up again like before. I unplugged the incoming coax and as before, it works perfectly fine and all other functions can be performed (Netflix, Pandora, MRV, playback, etc.). Since nothing important is recorded to it (or I can MRV stuff if needed), I'm willing to put another freshly imaged drive in it, but I wonder what is really going on here.
Basically, it seems like if too much stuff is recorded to it, it winds up not functioning properly and freezing up. Any other thoughts on what could be the problem here?
OK....so, should I really start watching it?
Is it really as good as all the publicity, hype and awards?
I'm generally not a fan of period shows or of British television in general, so what is different about this show that would make me like it?
In general, I have loved Big Love, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Nurse Jackie, Shameless, Nip/Tuck, Sex and the City, Homeland, Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order (s), Modern Family, Rescue Me, etc.
If I like those...am I likely to enjoy Downton Abbey or......? thanks!
Many times there are a few scenes in a recording that one of us would like to share with others in the family: segments in a talk show; sports plays; scenes in a TV show or movie; etc. Currenly in order to share these with others you need to FF and skip your way through the recording trying to remember what you wanted to share and where they reside.
It would be great if you could set your own index marks on the status timeline that could then be quickly accessed at a later time. This could be as simple as pressing the enter key while watching a live broadcast or recording. The status timeline could quickly be displayed with the new user mark showing along with any previous additions and the standard 15 minute index marks.
Is there a way to switch back and forth between the two tuners (streaming) while on the TiVo app?
I know that clicking on the Live TV button on the remote will cycle between the 2tuners to the other station, I don't think there is functionality to do this on the app.
BENEFIT: I frequently watch two stations at the same time. Pausing one station when it gets to a commercial, cycling the Live TV button and resume (play button) on the other tuner. Then when that tuner hits a commercial, press Pause and cycle to the other tuner back and forth...until they both hit commercials...lol
I'd like to be able to do this with my stream.
Any ideas? -Chris
Can I connect the Tivo Premiere to a Westell 7500 modem/router by simply connecting an ethernet cable from the back of the Tivo to an open port of the Westell 7500?
