I have 2 tivo HD's. 1 of them developed a hd crash. I have lifetime service on both of them. When I called Tivo, they wanted to charge me to transfer my lifetime service should I decide to purchase another drive through them. I dont agree with that policy. I purchased a Seagate Barracuda ST310005N1A1AS 1tb drive and used MFS Tools to copy the good drive from the other Tivo. It worked fine until maybe 1 week later when I received the first Green Screen telling me there was a problem. It cleared itself up and the tivo continued to work but has come back 4-5 times again since then, each time clearing itself up.
I am looking for help as I hope there is a fix to my problem. Wife gets very pissed when she cannot record and watch her shows.
I have a fairly new TiVo Premiere Elite (bought on Woot a couple of months ago and hooked up about 6 weeks ago) with an M-Stream CableCARD from Optimum/Cablevision and over the past week since setting up new fall TV season recordings (not season passes, just recording from the "By Channel" option about a week ahead of time), I've noticed a bunch of shows not being recorded, and when I go into the recording history, it says that the program wasn't recorded because "it no longer appeared in the program guide". This happened more than a few times and really concerns me.
I have another TiVo, an HD model that's about 4 years old, and it doesn't have the same issue. I set up the same recordings on that one the other day as a test and all of them recorded just fine even as the Premiere failed multiple times. So I don't think it's a problem with the actual guide data or my Optimum account.
Last night, one minute into a failed recording, I noticed that a show wasn't recording that should have been, so I turned to that channel and the bar at the top properly showed the name of the episode, and the show was playing properly. I hit the record button and it recorded just fine.
Also, at random times Sunday night during the football game, my NBC HD station flashed and started showing me programming from an NBA channel (I was still on NBC). The SD NBC channel still had the football game, though, and a few minutes later, the HD channel went back to the football game also. That was very strange. None of my friends had that issue.
At this point, I believe I've narrowed it down to a TiVo issue (hardware or software), a CableCARD issue or a signal/line strength issue (the technician recently installed new wires and tested them for signal strength, and until 6 weeks ago, the TiVO HD was hooked up to that same line and didn't have the same problem so I doubt it's that). My next step is to replace the CableCARD but I figured I'd ask for community expertise first. I'm also considering leaving Optimum for FiOS for unrelated reasons but I don't want to do that just yet if it's my TiVo that's a problem.
Any thoughts? Anyone experience this issue this regularly? I've now missed (or almost missed) 8 shows in a week on various nights and this can't continue!
Thanks in advance for your help.

Last night I configured my new TiVo Premiere for Antenna only use. It was great to scan my local channels and get all the Program Guide info.
I was watching a show called "Half the Sky: Turning Oppression Into Opportunity for Women Worldwide" on KQED 9-1. This is a two part show with two 2-hour segments. Part 1 was last night and the conclusion is tonight.
I still have a Comcast provided DVR (that I plan to get rid of soon). The Comcast program guide clearly describes last night's "Half the Sky" episode as "Part 1" and tonight's "Half the Sky" episode as "Conclusion." The TiVo Program Guide has the exact same description for both episodes and has no mention of Part 1 or Conclusion. If I depended on TiVo listings, I would easily miss the Conclusion of this compelling TV show. This was a frustrating first impression of the TiVo program guide.
Can this issue be fixed or improved in the future?
Is it possible to MRV from a suddenlink tivo premiere to a personally owned series 3?
Suddenlink customer support says to register their tivo on my account at tivo.com and tivo.com says to call suddenlink customer support.
No thread yet?
I thought this season is going pretty well. But I have one question. The guy who used to be the federal agent who is now an iron salesman. In the last season didn't he hire a nanny to take care of the baby. And now he moved away and is living with that nanny. And now that nanny is in love with him and having sex with him? If that is all correct that's a lot of things happening that we didn't really see!
Ok, so the singers on this show have been on my last nerve since about the second song I ever heard them sing in season one. But this episode truly went the full nine yards clear down to rock bottom with their rendition of Radiohead's classic, Creep.
I kid you not I literally felt my central nervous system recoil.
There just are not words.
I tried installing MoCA by connecting a MoCA-adapter bridge (from TiVo) to my cable modem / router (via coaxial / ethernet respectively), and using it in conjunction with a MoCA-enabled TiVo XL4 (a ways away from the router setup).
For some reason, everything worked except streaming. For lack of a better reason, I decided not to let things play out while I waited for a POE MoCA filter to arrive, so I wanted to go back to wireless (G) until then.
For some reason, when I try to change network settings to use just wireless, it lets me, but then reverts back to MoCA. When I try to manually disable MoCA via the TiVo menus, I run into a dead-end menu that insists I must then use either ethernet or wireless, which of course I'm trying to do.
Any idea how I can disable MoCA in favor of reverting to wireless (G), and why the TiVo refuses to play nice with my attempts? When I disconnect the coaxial-in, the wireless works fine, but as soon as I plug the coaxial back in (which I must to get a video signal), MoCA takes over. Curiously, the units can connect to the internet, I suppose through the wireless, even with the networks settings showing MoCA (without an IP natch).
I suppose I can bring a direct ethernet connection to the unit to force its hand in refusing to continue to disable MoCA, but it might possibly ignore that like it does with my attempt at reverting the wireless. Someone at TiVo mentioned trying to let the TiVo assign its own IP, though I can't see how that would help either, but I'll try. Any ideers?

I thought this episode was a really good start and, again, I was left with the feeling...."huh? It's over ALREADY?". Can't wait for each episode. I'm glad they moved things forward to have Brody be a Congressman already. It avoids some redundancies that could have happened and sets up lots of different angles.
Characters are awesome.
I would have wanted to tell Estes to ***ck off, but it's in her blood, so I understand why she didn't Hopefully, Saul, can "manage" her in a way that keeps it all moving forwar! Love this show!
At one point I was able to delete TiVo recordings from KMTTG. When I try to delete files I receive the error message:
No data available for findRecordingId
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Nothing yet for this?
Okay I'll go.
Did not love much about this sadly.
Not a fan of the way they introduced the new characters. For the first 10 minutes of the show I was like WTF is going on here? I recognized nobody. I wish they would flesh out who we've already seen before introducing Sleeping Beauty and Mulan.
I liked a few things. The comments about Dr Whale not being from FTL so nobody knew him still... so that will be something to keep wondering about.
Regina was classic as usual. I do wonder why the hat only worked when Emma touched her arm but I'm seriously annoyed that they brought out the hat and mentioned Jefferson and we get no Sebastian. :(
That being said, at least boring ass David is gone now that he knows he's Charming. I like the "I will always find them" even though it was predictable. I also really liked Emma's "which curse is worse?" conversation with Snow and Charming.
And as per the norm, the only emotional impact for me was Rumple/Belle. The ending scene was especially nice.
Rumple: I'm still a monster
Belle: Don't you see, that's exactly the reason I have to stay
Bah! I'm not supposed to be a romantic!
I just got our stream set up and my husband complains that the Tivo Stream on iPad (2) is REALLY quiet compared to other audio from video streams.
(Compared to the live TV streaming we get from our EyeTV or iTunes Movies/TV streaming over the WLAN.)
Any ideas? Obviously the hardware volume is set to max.
I switched from wired to wireless recently because we are about to move and I wanted to figure out my wireless set up as it seemed like an easier solution at our newer place. I'm having a terrible time with the adapter so far.
I followed the instructions for pressing the WPS buttons on my Cisco E2500 router and the adapter, but it only connected at the 2.4ghz band. I then the did manual set up via web browser and used only the 5ghz ssid. This worked for a week or so and the lights were blue I the adapter. Last night for no reason at all, it now shows green, which means it is connected at 2.4ghz. Any idea what could cause this?
Thanks for any help.
Been a DirecTV customer since 2000 and purchased the original DTV/TiVo units shortly thereafter. At the time I bought 2 lifetime subscriptions which transferred to DirecTV back in the day.
I had held out upgrading receivers (currently have R10s) as I wanted to keep it TiVo. Anyway a few months after this "vaporware" actually got widespread released I could swear I was offered the free upgrade package (as I have had for years) that included the THR22- however I just wasn't ready to do it.
Now one of my antiquated receivers is on the fritz and I would like to upgrade my dish/receiver package. However looking at the site and calling up they will give me the DirecTV DVR receiver, but the cost for the THR22 (Tivo) would be $199 per. I do not want to pay close to $400 for them (especially for a leased unit). Has anyone gotten DirecTV to supply them with the TiVo receivers at no charge? Again I could swear that this offer was given to me about 6 months ago.
When I reorganize my season passes, I rarely am able to get the changes to save. Is there a secret to doing it? It is pretty frustrating when I spend a good amount of time reorganizing them and then lose all of the work. It obviously takes way too long to reorganize on the Tivo itself, so I was curious how others deal with this. Do you rely on the app?
So, has anyone had a go at this at all?
Another good episode.
Now let's start all the complaining about it not being realistic.:D
I was poking around online looking at TiVo tricks..and came upon the USB keyboard... I tried my Logitech k400 with no luck... from what I read the keyboard needed to have a "unifying" receiver (which this does have)..I guess it wasn't supposed to be a plug and play like I was hoping?
I have had the stream since it was released. When it works, its great. I have an issue lately. When I try to download a shoe to my iphone or iPad I get a message that says the show cannot be found and has been deleted from my dvd. The shows are still on my premiere and when i restart the tiro the app works for a few days and then goes back to the original problem....
Anyone else experiencing this?
if she keeps her hair how they had it in the early part of the show, i cant watch anymore. i cannot stand hair with the big fluff or whatever going back the middle.
the frankin and bash combined with fairly legal show wasnt too bad. i guess i dont mind knockoffs because i realize original ideas are hard to come by and this was ok.
