do i have a bad unit? while in my home network i can not stream to my iphone. it sees the tivo but says im away from home? i have it setup to work with the mini fine. but to my iphone or nexus 7 no go.
Seems that Roamio doesn't like some .mp4 files. I have run across a dozen or so that will cause the Roamio to reboot. I run VideoReDo and just remux the files and they transfer fine. Anyone else having this problem?
I only had a Premier XL4 and an the Tivo iPad app setup. I could not stream to the Tivo iPad app from the Premier XL4. That function was not available in the Tivio iPad app.
I then went out and bought a Roamio Pro. I now have my Premier and Roamio setup to transfer between devices. Everything is working correctly.
I then open my Tivo app and I am now able to stream from both the Premier and Roamio. Why is the Premier XL4 suddenly able to stream to the Tivo iPad app? I specifically select the Premier in the Tivo app and select a show to watch and streaming works perfect. I thought the Premier XL4 would need the Tivo Stream.
Tivo Suggestions apparently will not record when a Roamio box is used with a Time Warner Cable tuning adapter. This is a known bug with the Premiere series that I have run into and according to customer service, it is still not fixed with the Roamio boxes. I have Time Warner Cable in Los Angeles. There is no timeline for when this issue will be fixed.

OK, I have a Series 3 (OLED) that started going into the dreaded reboot loop. It had one budging cap on the power supply & I figured this was the problem. Since I didn't feel comfortable changing it myself, I pulled the power supply from it & had a local repair shop replace it for under $20.
However, when I got it back & installed it, it still was in a reboot loop. I pulled its 250GB stock hard drive and ran the WD extended test on it. It came back clean. I even put this 250GB drive in another identical Series 3 (OLED) unit I have & it worked totally fine. No problems.
Now, in order to help isolate the potential problem, I also pulled the 500GB working hard drive from this other working Series 3 (OLED) and put it in the non-working Series 3 (OLED). Still no luck & in a reboot loop. Therefore, I figured it was a power supply issue & there must be another capacitor(s) that needs to be replaced.
Instead of pulling it like before, I just kept the power supply in the Series 3 (OLED) this time and just took the whole unit back to my repair shop. Informed them that power supply probably has another bad cap on it that needs to be replaced (even though they all looked visually fine). They just called me and said ALL the caps on the PS checked out OK so it must be something else.
So, what else could possibly be wrong here? I am gonna maybe try to pull the power supply from the working unit and put it in the non-working unit and see what happens. However, is there something else that could be causing the reboot loop. I know there is basically only really 3 main components to these things; motherboard, hard drive and power supply so cant imagine what else it could be.
I initially get the powering up screen, but it never gets past that (to the 'just a few more minutes' screen) & reboots back into it so this is what also makes me think its the power supply, but any other thoughts?
John Travolta must be a lucky charm when it comes to movie music—he stars in 3 of the top 10 films TiVo users voted as containing their favorite soundtracks. Grease is a given when it comes to talking about movies with great music, from “Summer Nights” to “Greased Lightning,” the songs in this film stick in your head…even when you don’t want them to. And although Travolta looks awfully sharp in a white polyester suit, the only reason anyone remembers Saturday Night Fever is because of the disco hits of Continue Reading

My question is does the Roamio have 6 independent tuners. I.E. 6 buffered live channels totally independent? Still uses 1/2 hr buffer?
I was absolutely delighted when Netflix (finally) hit my TiVo Mini. Yet others weren’t quite as enthusiastic… as outputting video at 1080p/24 not only brought down the Netflix app, it also rebooted the Mini. Ouch. Fortunately, TiVo responded in short order and has deployed an OS update to both the newly released Roamio DVRs and [...]

Set-up is Tivo Premiere W/1TB WD DVR expander on Cox HD with M card. Experienced some severe pixelation issues and ran kickstart 54 which reported no issues with either hard drive. I noticed several recordings on the HD History channel that stopped well short of the program end time e.g., 30 minute show stops recording after 5-10 minutes? System has plenty of HD space left. Any suggestions as to what problem might be and/ or how to diagnose? Thanks for any help.
Best Buy has just announced they are replacing their “Reward Zone” loyalty program with “My Best Buy” — promising greater rewards, such as free shipping, and more mobile integration, including bonus points for “checking in” at stores. And certainly my Best Buy expenditures have increased given permanent Amazon price matching (and their recent store redesign doesn’t hurt). [...]

I was thinking about this in the Frasier thread. There are SOME show that I watched first run and watch over and over again in syndication. Seinfeld, M*A*S*H, Cheers, Friends, The Big Bang Theory. These are all shows I enjoy the second time around. But some shows that I really liked during their first run, I just don't enjoy and have no real desire to watch in syndication. A few that come to mind are Frasier, How I Met Your Mother, All In The Family, 30 Rock. For some it's because the shows are dated and they aren't as funny in context today (like All In The Family). Others, the jokes got kinda stale the second time around.
What are some of yours? (I only mentioned sitcoms because I don't usually watch reruns of dramas, but feel free to include dramas or whatever).
I have read multiple posts confirming that owners have seamlessly mixed both OTA and cable channels on other Tivo models, and I note that the 4 tuner Romeo model offers both OTA and cable tuning.
It logically follows that the cable and OTA channels can both be tuned by the Romeo model that has that capability, and that the two sources are not mutually exclusive and can be utilized simultaneously. In other words, after an initial cable and ota scan, both sets of channels show up on the grid and can be utilized.
Would an owner who has and is using the four tuner Romeo please confirm this assumption? Don't answer unless you have the model and can confirm based on your own experience.
Please, no "it should work" replies. I want to know if it does work. Thanks in advance.
I'm a pretty excited soon-to-be new TiVo owner. Just placed our order for a Pro and 2 Mini's through WeaKnees.
I hope some of the seasoned TiVo owners wouldn't mind helping a plebe out with a few questions.
#1 What is the optimal procedure for setting up the Roamio and Mini's? Connect coax to the Roamio (without cablecard), go through guided setup, then insert the CC and pair with Comcast? Do I do this with the Mini's connected or not? This is kind of a large, encompassing question, just unsure of how to go about it.
#2 One Mini will be connected to a MoCA adapter. This particular adapter is connected to our modem. (a) Is there any kind of MoCA setup type screen on the Mini that I need to be aware of? The Roamio Pro will be connected via coax only at another location. My assumption is that the Roamio will not need to be connected to another MoCA adapter. (b) Is this correct?
#3 If #2(b) is correct, how do I need to setup the Roamio Pro, in regards to the network/MoCA screen? I do plan on connecting an ethernet cable from the Pro to a switch for expanded internet connectivity (if that matters).
#4 I plan on getting lifetime service on the Pro and the Mini's. When should/does this need to be done?
#5 I have the Comcast cable card phone number ready to go. What am I forgetting or need to know?
I sincerely appreciate the help. I can't wait for this weekend to get here.
Revelations? Covens? Horsemen of the Apocalypse? And apparently Old Beezlebub himself?
Also, the Village of Sleepy Hollow has a population of 140,000? That would make it the fifth-biggest city in New York State!
The line "seven years of tribulations" is a dead giveaway -- they want this show to run seven seasons. I don't think they can sustain this level of inventive insanity for more than 13 episodes, let alone 154...
I'll keeps the Season Pass on my TiVo, but I'm going to remain emotionally detached because I can't see this ever coming to a satisfactory conclusion.
I was telling my sister before the episode aired that the dome would become opaque and leave them in the dark!
I'm controlling my Roamio as I have my other tivo's through IP control.
After several commands, ie 3-4 downs, it freezes and I have to wait several seconds before it will take another command.
Any ideas? How do I log it as a bug with tivo?
I've got a Premier 4XL and a Seagate 3TB external drive, converted to ESATA. Any way to use these together?
