So I just ordered a new TiVo Roamio w/ a lifetime subscription. I have a couple questions about my TiVo Premiere that I'm going to be selling. When I first purchased it, I got it used for cheap, and then I found that I had to get a contract with a $19.99 subscription. That contract has lapsed a long time ago. Does this still require a $19.99 subscription from whoever buys it from me? Would their price be determined by whether or not they are eligible for a MSD? I seem to remember some TiVos (mine included, i think) not being eligigble for MSD. I'm glad to leave the montly TiVo fees behind w/ my new lifetime service unit, but I just want to make sure I don't mis-market it on eBay. Thanks!
I currently have an Tivo HD, S3, with a multistream cablecard from Comcast. If I buy the new Roamio (terrible name!) will I be able to just put that card in the Roamio and activate without having a tech come out to the house? I've tried calling TiVo to ask but they must be quite busy. :)
The Tivo Mini product (https://tivo.com/shop/mini
) page makes it sound like that if your primary Tivo is hooked up directly to your router then you don't need to provide the Mini any network connectivity at all (as displayed in the second option - titled If your TiVo DVR is connected to your router).
It says "Youre all set! Just connect your TiVo Mini to your other TV and enjoy."...Does this work/how?
All other documents imply the Mini needs ethernet or MoCa (which would make sense).
First the don Gus Fring dropped into Community now his man Mike Ehrmantraut is giving Greendale a try. As EW reports, Breaking Bads Jonathan Banks will show up in 11 episodes of Communitys fifth season as "Pat Nichols, an intense criminology professor with a mysterious background in military and police work.
[Banks] makes his first appearance in the second episode of the season when Annie (Alison Brie) enrolls in his class." Theory: Slowly but surely, Dan Harmon is recruiting every notable Breaking Bad cast member Walt, Jesse, Gomey, Badger, the dude with the eyebrows at the car wash to his show, so that by the end of Communitys sixth season (and/or its movie), he'll be able to reveal his grand, subtly rolled out homage to the greatest meth drama of our generation. Things are gonna get pretty meta.
Upgrading to a Roamio so I'm selling my S3. The hardrive has been upgraded to 500gb, 70 hours. Comes with remote and wireless adapter.
Would be nice to have that functionality in the mini so you can hide the box behind the TV or in a closet.
In May I paid $693 out the door for a Tivo XL4 and lifetime service, what Roamio features are really worth all the extra cash (and it seems like it's a pretty big diff in price)
I don't really see that many software differences, are there? Speed is not a big deal to me, sure my Tivo isn't a blazer but it doesn't bother me and I don't need tivo2go...
and lastly, any chance we can expect to see the interface update on Premiere series?
So I've ordered a Roamio Plus and am looking to sell my Premiere 4 with 2TB drive (original drive included) and Stream.
Just curious what would be a good price to expect and should i sell them on eBay as a bundle or separately?
The post Opt Out Of TiVo Arbitration appeared first on Zatz Not Funny!.
Perhaps we can post tear-down pics here...?
TiVo TCD758250 Premiere XL4 DVR & TiVo Stream Bundle
TiVo TCD750500 Premiere 4 DVR & TiVo Stream Bundle
Both come with stream. WOW.
I see in this thread
that there is some support from Flingo but the file types are limited and lack FF/REW. Are there any other options? I've used Stream, Baby, Stream for years but that doesn't work (shows up, navigates to show, hit Play and error comes up).
Lack of streaming from PC is the main hinderance I have from replacing my Elite with another Mini.

I have 4 XL4's: 2 bought October 2012, 1 in January 2013, and one July 2013 that can be returned up until August 31st to Amazon.
I have 2 streams I bought in January 2013.
Basically, 2 XL4's and a Stream are in each of two different apartments.
None have Lifetime. All have extended warranties. One Stream is still in the box it came in, the other is in service.
I also have 2 HD's disconnected in the corner. One has a bad mobo and no drive, the other is good. They both have lifetime but are out of extended warranty (they are 2010's).
Let's say I wanted to have 4 Roamio Pro's. I could sell 3 of XL4's on eBay, return 1 to Amazon, sell both Stream's on eBay, get rid of the two HD's (the good and the bad one's).
What are the moves? Can I do some kind of move of the old HD Lifetime's to the XL4's.
Option 1: Now: Return the newest XL4, sell the Streams on eBay, buy 1 Roamio Pro, 2: Later: then wait for improved pricing on the Roamio Pro after Thanksgiving maybe to buy 3 more Roamio Pro's and sell 3 XL4's on eBay.
Option 2: ???
Does anyone know if the UI on the Mini will be upgraded to look like the Roamio?
I would like the look of everything to be consistent throughout the house (will have a total of 4 Minis).
Will I be able to tape 6 things at once or will I be "limited" to 5 with a tuner permanently set aside for the Mini? That's the only thing I need to find out before I order....Thanks in advance
What a freaking joke of a season. Enough with all the betrayals. Every single episode this season, someone betrays someone else. Please get back to cases. This main Ava Hessington arc is out of control. Anyone else annoyed with this?
But will the new Roamio work with PyTiVo? Year after year I use PyTiVo more and more and can't live without it now!
