I am finally back to the Tivo family and picked up the Roamio Plus. For complicity sake, I set everything up with MoCA and everything is working fine. However, I notice the slow download speed when transferring shows to my iPad. I see that other people are mentioning the same thing, but I was wondering if I made the right choice with MoCA.
Would setting the Roamio to use the gigabit ethernet versus MoCA help with the transfer speed? I suspect that it is just the way the app and roamio work given that MoCA should still be able to handle speeds better than my transfer rate, but wanted to check with the experts.
In the QUICKFLIX menu, there is a "playlist" feature.
Has anyone used it ? How do you use it ? what instructions ?
from what i THINK it does (or should do), is let you "add" programmes to your playlist, - EG a whole series, and when you watch each episode, it gets removed.
is this what it does ? i've not figured out what / how to use it. What buttons do we press.
I just purchased a Tivo Roamio Pro and Tivo Mini to replace my old 2-room / 2-tivo setup. I have these connected through 2 Netgear GS108 switches:
Tivo Roamio Pro <---> Netgear GS108 <---> Netgear GS108 <---> Tivo Mini
This setup worked fine with the old tivos for room-to-room transfers, but with the Mini, HD content stalls out within seconds, usually with a V87 error (network too slow). This occasionally happens with non-HD content as well (live tv and recordings).
I tried to measure network bandwidth by connecting 2 Macs where each of the tivos are connected, and ran the iPerf program. This consistently gave me around 940Mbps, for a variety of packet sizes (close to the 1Gbps maximum).
I've also tried power cycling all the boxes, assigning static IP addresses, and even removed a switch, but nothing seems to fix the problem. Tivo technical support was not able to help either.
I'd appreciate any suggestion on what to look for or how to diagnose the problem.
I just installed a Roamio Plus and a Mini. Starting to use them and realized that the remotes are different, buttons like "Back" and "Guide" are in different places, making it very awkward. Surely they should be consistent. I am obviously not at all impressed having sunk over $1,000 in what is a very poor user experience.
I could not see any other posts on this issue - are others happy to juggle two similar but different remotes and keep it all straight?
A new show Wallykazam is supposed to be starting on 2/3 at noon Central on NickJr. My guide data still isn't showing it. Does anyone else see this show?

Just got off the phone with TiVo support and they said this is a known issue that they are monitoring, affecting all TiVo's, and they don't know when they're going to get a fix.
But...when I search the web, I can't find anyone else having the same problem, so is it really a "Known Issue"!?!?
Basically, debugged with Amazon first. When I go to my video library, specify the movie to transfer to my TiVo, the Amazon site says everything is OK.
Per the Amazon help desk, everything on their side says that the video was transferred successfully.
Problem is...NO BLUE LIGHT on TiVo.
Did all the usual, restart router, restart TiVo, force connect to TiVo HQ, etc. Nothing....Movie never downloads
Like I said, called TiVo support last and they said it's a known issue with a pending fix.
Anyone else have any insight into this? Can confirm this is a current problem?
Hi, new poster here ... have been lurking since a few days before I picked up my Roamio Pro last week and have learned a lot from all of you. Decided to sign up when I noticed some inconsistencies from my Series 2 days in the way Tivo shows start/end/ and duration data for programs and I'm getting frustrated when the info screens don't give me what I need. Here is what I observed (I couldn't find this in other threads so I'm hoping it hasn't been covered before); I am generalizing and these observations may not apply in all cases:
Explore, Upcoming, and Episodes screens: Start time, but no End or Duration info
My Shows: Station (or logo) and HD flag, but no channel # or End Time.
Duration is sometimes in the preview window on the right (always for movies with star ratings), and is also in the program info window if you select the entry.
To Do: This usually has everything in the item entry or in the preview window if the item is highlighted, except for Duration. For Wish List future recordings however, there is no Start/End/Duration available in the To Do screen or program info window if you select the item (it is available if you locate the program in the guide).
I find this frustrating and more complex than I remembered with my S2 that I used from 2002-08 and retired when I got my HDTV. Sometimes I just want to know how long a future recording is when I am editing down my My Shows and To Do lists (like for my Olympics wish lists). Has anyone else felt the same way about this? I guess what I'm really looking for is a quick way to determine the duration of individual current and future recordings.
This sounds like it's going to be a good episode for all of us who want to see more of the Mother. I'm guessing it will be her narrating the story and will be from her perspective. I'm very excited to see how the episode goes.
Last week's Michael J Fox Show recording on my Roamio had an odd problem. When I start watching it, the timeline at the bottom is all empty, as though it has just started recording (i.e. there's no green in the timeline). In addition, I can't use any trickplay buttons. I just get the Tivo rejection dung noise when I press any of those buttons. I had to watch the episode without skipping any ads.
I initially noticed the issue while the episode was half-recorded, and now going back to it in the future, that recording still behaves this way. I'm also unable to stream this episode to my phone or ipad. Has anyone else seen this happen?

Very intense and dangerous.
I've been having periodic channel loss, but it was rare and usually only a single channel. Changing up or down then back to the lost channel recovered it.
Today I turned on the TV and had nothing. No channel content at all. Checking diagnostics on the TA and CC had no results, like they were disconnected.
Rebooting the Roamio brought everything back, but I need to find out what's happening. Is there a shortlist of things to check to see what might be happening?
Hopefully a few quick questions - but first a little context:
I'm getting a Roamio to replace my Premiere. I'll be switching my current service plan over to the Roamio, and unsubscribing the Premiere. However, I have a lot of as-yet unwatched programs on the Premiere that I'd like to transfer to the Roamio.
So the question is: Can I copy programs off an unsubscribed Premiere to a subscribed Roamio?
Follow up question: Some of the programs may be copy protected; if they can't be copied to the Roamio, will I still be able to watch them directly from the unsubscribed Premiere?
If necessary, I can take the Premiere off my home network, so it can't 'phone home' and won't know immediately that it has been unsubscribed. If I do that, can I copy programs to the Roamio by connecting the two units directly with an Ethernet cable? (And does it need to be a cross-over cable?)

I went through the process of setting up my Roamio remote to be RF, but it seems to randomly toggle between IR and RF. Sometimes I get a connection, sometimes I just sit there and press buttons to no avail. I'd like to just complely reset the remote so it starts back at "out of the box" settings and allows me to go through the RF activation again. Possible?

My area TWC provider is dropping beIN2, one of the reasons I switched to TWC in the first place. As a subscriber, do I have any recourse or ability to get this channel back? Why is TWC removing channels at all? Shouldn't they increase over time?
