Baseball season is coming soon and want to set my TiVo to record anything with "MLB Baseball" as the title, and "New York Yankees" as the keyword. I have it set to keep 1 game until space is needed, so the next game it'll automatically record over it.
This will work, however with complicated sports broadcasting agreements, sometimes it's on the local regional sports channel, sometimes ESPN, sometimes Fox, sometimes Fox Sports 1, sometimes MLB Network, sometimes the local OTA channel.
Sometimes it appears to TiVo that it is on multiple channels at once, however certain airings on channels are blacked out and actually airing a different game with teams outside my region. Is there a way to prioritize the channels the wishlist picks up, and only record 1 airing at a time? I'd like the prioritization to be Regional Sports Network -> Local OTA -> ESPN -> Fox -> Fox Sports 1 -> MLB Network.
I could potential do this by setting the show "MLB Baseball" to record on each of these channels and prioritize it in my Season Pass manager, however with 6 tuners I'm afraid it will record a bunch of them at once if "MLB Baseball" is airing on multiple channels, and I am bound to pickup games I don't want.
Anyone understand what I'm looking for here? Any ideas? Thanks
I have some lifetime TiVos on my account that have been sold to other users, but they apparently are still on my account. I want to maybe get some more (Roamios and/or Premieres), but is there a limit as to how many TiVos can reside on one account?
Our old Series 3 TiVo was finally deactivated yesterday. It had an external 1T drive attached to it and we'd like to move it over to the new PRO.
My question is, will the recordings that are currently on the PRO remain there? Or do we lose everything by attaching the drive?
We no longer have the original instructions (the drive is a few years old), so I'm not even sure what the procedure is for attaching it.
By way of The Drum, we learn that Virgin TiVo set-tops have just published My Nick Jr – a customizable app of pre-school edutainment: My Nick Jr. features 650 Nick Jr. episodes including episodes of beloved Nick Jr. titles such as Dora the Explorer, Bubble Guppies, Tickety Toc and Dinosaur Train. Using the app, parents can create an individual My […]

I have been having problems since I got Netflix some months ago with my Tivo Series 3 HD INTERMITTANTLY having start/stop (stuttering) of picture+video at intervals of every few seconds when playing back a Netflix video. I think I have finally identified the problem. Please read on.
1) Tivo told me that the problem was not in the Tivo.
2) Comcast speed demonstrated 12 to 14mbps download speed whenever I tested. Comcast said the problem was not them.
3) Netflix said the problem was not with them.
4) Restarting the Tivo had no good effect.
5) Restarting the router+modem had no good effect.
6) I tried turning the "picture quality" on Netflix down from AUTO to MEDIUM. Stuttering was a tiny bit better, but not fixed.
7) I tried turning the "picture quality" down on Netflix to LOW. This further reduced the data download speed and somewhat reduced the "stuttering", but did NOT fix the problem.
8) Since the problem was INTERMITTANT, I looked to see what was going on in the TiVo when the problem was happening. I noticed that when the problem happened, the Tivo was busy DOWNLOADING TWO TV PROGRAMS and at the same time trying to play my Netflix program!
This leads me to believe that the Tivo has inadequate CPU processor speed to be able to accommodate all three jobs at once. What do you guys think about this? is there any way to speed up the CPU in a Series 3 HD? Thanks
So, we get all of these and then watch after we get the whole season. I just got another one...I believe episode 14! So just when is season 2 over?
Well this season has started with a BANG....great to have it back, but boy is Phillip some kind of killer....what was his body count in this ep? 4? 5?
Can the Toshiba SDH-400 be used with a OTA signal with an external digital tv signal tuner? Does the IR blaster work to control and record?
If it does, is there a specific brand/model digital tv tuner needed?
I am wondering if TiVo is a "sole source provider" for the Western Digital My Book DVR Expander. I just spent close to $1000 for my TiVo Roamio and lifetime service so I was looking for a way to save a few bucks on the external hard drive. I bought one on Amazon that said it was TiVo compatible, but when I tried to install it, the screen said it was not supported by TiVo. I returned it, but I am looking for one that will work without having to pay $200 for it. Any suggestions?
Another new premiere.
This one I will have to watch a few episodes, being that the whole season is 1 night at a bar, and 10 stories to tell, but I see that they are already getting around that with lots of flash backs.
Ratings were not great, ok they were lousy, especially following "Modern Family".
Just might be an early night.
I have two Roamio's in one room. I know how to set them up to receive different IR code sets and I seem to have all the hex codes for both sets of buttons except for the Clear and the Enter buttons. Does anyone know the hex codes for them?
Just installed my new Roamio last night, and everything looks pretty good, but from what I understand, there will not be any updates to the page at https://www.tivo.com/tivo-tco/go.do?...webvideos.page
, and RSS videos aren't being added to the Roamio via that page.
That's really a shame because one of the ideas behind the Roamio was to mix my OTA with Netflix/Hulu/Youtube and get podcasts downloaded too. Is there any alternative for doing so, or any way to get Tivo to update that page and add feeds from Revision3 or other newer sources?
Selling my TiVo HD with Lifetime service, it has been upgraded with a 2TB hard drive purchased from DVR_DUDE on eBay.
It is clean as a whistle inside and out. It comes with the remote.
Not advertised on eBay yet. I would rather give TC members first shot.. and avoid eBay fee's of course.
I had this ad served up by TCF just now. I don't know if there's some setting that you could make to avoid this.
Not that I mind it - I don't - but probably the ads should be in a language (and alphabet) that I can read... :)

Hey guys I got banned from this board, so this is going to be my last post here so I want to make it a good one.
If you are on the fence about buying a Roamio, don't be, the Roamio line is the best product line up TiVo has ever had. Every single complaint we had for the last 6 years were addressed by TiVo with this lineup.
Don't get me wrong they have bugs and maybe our requests could have been implemented better, like same channel recording using only 1 tuner. But they are trying and, with each update we get a better product not worse, the same could not be said for the premiere line.
Also MoCa is really easy so many people here go through so much frustration trying to get wifi to work, trust me try MoCa or power line one of them will work for you.
And please don't listen to anything bad about TiVo from a guy who's name is some half assed insult to TiVo. There is lots a bad things about Tivos and good, but these guy who show up and create an account just to say a product sucks is not someone to trust.
Last thing please don't pay someone to sell you a discount code, don't, it's not a scam or crime but it is people abusing the system to rip off other people. It's just wrong for you or anyone to pay $200 bucks to someone who is providing you with nothing. Contact TiVo or buy from best buy or amazon. Now people who bought these codes and realized they were a bad deal are now trying to sell full units for $25 dollars off retail. Just last week, a base Roamio was 100 dollars at best buy after price match and a $50 dollar gift card, lifetime on the unit would bring the total to $500 he is asking $575. Plus you have to buy from a total stranger with no protection.
That's it, that's my advice good luck and God bless.
I just upgraded my Premiere to a Roamio, which is in an open air rack. Previously, I had my PS3 Slim on top of the Premiere. I had read that stacking things on top of the Premiere was fine, and I never had any heat problems. The new Roamio is a different shape, slightly rounded on top, making the PS3 less steady. I'm concerned that the new shape means I shouldn't be putting anything on top of it, but can't really find anything anywhere saying if I should or not. Rearranging the PS3 or Roamio to a different spot on the rack would be cumbersome with the cabling, but preferable to causing either the PS3 or Roamio to overheat. Should I go through the hassle, or is it fine to keep my PS3 on top of the Roamio?
Anyone got an old S2 TCD140060 unit they're not using? Want to sell me the power supply out of it cheap? I have a S2 with lifetime with a dead power supply, but I'm not willing to spend $70 to get one from Weaknees.
I also have two S2DT units and two S2 TCD540080 units sitting in the closet (non-lifetime) that I'd be willing to trade parts out of if you want to just swap.
Trying and failing to upgrade my Premiere with a blank 2009 model WD10EARS. Successfully upgraded my HD S3 to 1T years ago.
CD booted jmfs - rev.104 gets to this point and fails. Tried four separate computers and multiple cabling configurations (sata, usb) and all fail at the same place within five minutes. Something basic wrong? All advice/help would be appreciated. Thanks.
