One thing was immediately clear as soon as I was able get Netgear Arlo up and running: 1) it was very easy to add cameras, and 2) all I wanted was to buy more cameras! But let’s back up a second and explain exactly what Arlo is, and is not. Arlo, the spiritual successor to Vue, is […]

Can someone please help me clear out my ignored threads folder? Ideally I'd like to clean out all "ignored" threads that are from 2014 and back.
Currently when I go into my "Ignored Threads" folder, I get this error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 31316042 bytes) in /home/avsforum/www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/includes/functions.php on line 5035
Thanks for any help admins can offer.
I need some help figuring this out.
Background. I have 3 Premieres (2 active, one still new in box, never used)
premiere #1, upgraded to 2TB 4+ years ago, no issue
Premier #2, still stock 320GB drive. about a month ago, I upgraded it to a 3tb drive, only 2.2 usable. after 1 week of solid use, it started random reboots. thinking the drive had an issue, i put the original 320gb drive in, and all worked for 1-2 weeks, until yesterday, where it also started random reboots, so much that it would only stay on for 5 minutes before a reboot.
At that point I had assumed the original drive had an issues, and when it copied to the 3tb drive, it copied bad data, and thus I had 2 "bad" drives, as far as data.
So. I took the original drive from premiere #1, and copied it to the 3tb drive. Thinking I could put it in premiere #2, as a new drive, knowing I would have to start with the guided setup and software update since it is 4+ years old as far as software goes.
But that drive won't even boot up, it reboots after about 30 seconds of "starting up"
so does this sound like some odd HD issue, or a mother board issue?
I still have a 3rd premiere I can pull out and use, but I would need to activate it, both active premieres have lifetime service on them.
i havent seen any recent posts on a roamio green screen problem. just got one last night. it's flashing between four screens:
- welcome! starting up...
- blank (maybe tivo restarting itself?)
- almost there... just a few minutes more
- green secreen ("tivo box has detected a serious problem and is now attempting to fix it")
waited over 3 hours and it didn't recover
is my next step just to buy a new hard drive, insert it, and let it format itself?
also... the "almost there" screen usually comes up after an update. did an update go out last night? wondering if that may have caused it.
I thought this was actually pretty good. I don't know where they're going with it exactly, but I'm along for the ride.
Kirsten Schaal is perfectly cast as the super-annoying last woman on earth... you can really believe Phil when he tells Carol he doesn't want to sleep with her even though he has no other prospects. I mean Phil is no prize, especially in the personal hygiene department, but his problems are easy to solve... Carol's issues are much more deeply rooted.
I thought Phil would just give up his house and move to another one, rather than try to clean it up.
I really liked the homage to Castaway: "apologies to Tom Hanks..." :D
This is kind of a stupid question but all the sounds my old S2 TiVo would make when FFWD'ing or scrolling through menus only happen on the SD menus. Is this normal?
I have both a Roamio and a Mini. I'm using a Harmony remote for my Roamio and want to use the RF remote, that came with the Roamio, with my Mini. I purchased a USB dongle from user Davisadm.
Is there a quick guide someplace that explains how to easily pair my Mini and Roamio RF remote?
Very curious what Snow/Charming are talking about in their dealings with the villains. :)
I watched the hour-long pre-show, and thought it was quite entertaining. They really work that poor costuming guy. :) Most of the character/story details we already knew, but it was fun to watch the actors explain some things from their perspective.
I still don't understand how no one knows that August is the Author... or maybe it wasn't really him.
I liked this episode even though it was relatively thoughtful. Couldn't believe the change in Rick after his shave and haircut.
Lots of setup, still not really clear where this is going.
Who played the congress woman? - wasn't on IMDB when I looked.
How about the blond woman who cut Rick's hair ?
I was confused whether Rick walking alone at night were dreams or real at times.
Checked today and noticed my stand alone stream now has new software.
Software version 20.4.6.stream-01-06 Build date Jan 5, 2015.
I know there are a lot of "D12" posts out there for an old DirectTV box, but this is different.
Last month I got two visits at EWz from a box with a TSN beginning D12. I've seen D18 from Pace before (platform=Pac01), but this is new. This one appears to be a Mini from its properties.
OK, so My Tivo just got a new update, and I can not turn off the folder view of my shows. The reason I've avoided using this view in the past is because I don't like having suggestions in show specific folders.
I'll see that little folder with a 3 in it and thing I've got 3 of these shows to watch, I click into it and it turns out I have one to watch, and two suggestions.
Since I can't turn off the folder view anymore, is there a way to keep suggestions from showing up in these folders?
I don't want to turn off suggestions all together as the kids find lots of good shows to watch in there. I'm totally cool having a suggestions folder, I just don't like them popping up in all the other show specific folders.
I'm about to leave DTV and switch to cable with Tivo. My Cat-5 network only reaches 1 TV (which i don't even use), so my plans are to do the following:
main router -> Moca adaptor -> coax wiring
Coax into Tivo Roamio and 2-3 Mini's
I'm confident that will work for the networking portion. The next question I have is for 2 wireless AP's in the house that currently hang off moca adaptors. Can i use the Tivo Roamio and Mini's (Networked through Moca) as bridges and hang the WAP's off of each Tivo's Cat-5 port?
If this won't work, then I guess I can do a Coax splitter going into the Tivo and also into a Moca adaptor, then to the WAP... but the less hardware, the better.
And so, with a new Roamio and the latest TiVo update, is the ability to resize the onscreen program info banner broken?
If I press the remote's Info button or right arrow button while watching live tv, I get the large program info banner across the bottom half of the screen. But if I then try to resize the banner to a smaller size by pressing the right arrow button, nothing happens--my only option is to press the left arrow button or the Info button to have the banner go away. And if I go to a new tv channel by pressing the channel up or channel down button, I get the smaller program info banner, but again can't resize it.
Am I missing something or did the feature (described in the user guide) go away, or get broken? Or is there a special setting somewhere that needs to be set? Thanks--
Does anyone know if two roamio rf remotes can sync simultaneously to the same ver 1 mini using the same rf dongle?
Has anyone got x2 BT ver 1 Slide remotes to work on the same mini? If so did it take both usb Bluetooth dongles or were both able ro connect via Bluetooth using the same dongle?
I've already tried pairing simultaneously one rf and one Bluetooth remote unsuccessfully.
I am just learning how to navigate the new Amazon Prime app. Never really played with it before Prime was added.
Couple of questions:
I like that when I press the info button during Netflix, I get to see the resolution and the remaining time without stopping the playback. The info does nothing during Amazon playback. How can I see the resolution on the Amazon App?
When I rewind on Netflix, I see the scenes/window panes in either direction. It gives me an idea of how far in each direction I want to rewind or fast forward. It seemed that the Amazon app gave me just a clock counter. Options?
Any link to all the functions of the remote control buttons for both apps?
Post 20.4.6 update, recording won't play or stream. If I try and play it on tv, I get black screen and progress indicator stuck at 0 sec. Skip and FF are unresponsive. I also tried to stream the recording to my iPad and got a playback error. Message indicates error information sent to clipboard but I don't know how to access this info.
I have also noticed that streaming sessions fail the first try every time since updating to 20.4.6 on 2 roamios and 1 premier. This was flawless pre update.
I am looking for an advanced networking guru to assist with this issue.
I currently have a FiOS Modem/Router combo unit that is being used with MoCa for my TiVo DVR. I have an Airport Extreme and an Airport Express also connected to the FiOS Router since I need them in order to extend the Wifi signal to the entire house. The FiOS Router is handing out addresses to the Tivo Via MoCa and to the Extreme via wired connection. The peripherals (iPad, Mac, iPhone) that are wirelessly communicating via the wifi network are not being 'seen' by the TiVo because the Tivo is on the FiOS network and the others are on the Extreme/express wifi network.
Is there a way to consolidate these two networks so that they are all able to communicate with each other? I remember trying to use the 'bridge' function when I initially set this up about 2 years ago and for some reason the devices did not work properly together. Might I have been doing something fundamentally wrong?
In case you are wondering...When I change my iPad, iPhone, to the FiOs network, they are able to communicate with the TiVo (connected via MoCa) but the signal is way too low so I have to extend...
I have also posted this issue on the Apple Support forum for feedback...
I have 3 Premiers and wireless g routers. When using any device to watch a show recorded on another device, I get sound clipping on HD recorded shows. SD shows play fine. I am Verizon FiOS. A call to TiVO customer service pointed the finger at Verizon but I am not confident they are the problem. Verizon says my throughput exceeds specs. I have no issues with streaming Netflix HD and Amazon Prime HD through TiVo and my Roku services work fine. I only have a TiVo multi-room issue. Verizon wants to sell me a new 800meg router for $200. I am also considering the wireless n routers through TiVO. I'm OK with the expense for either or both options but I would like to have some confidence they will fix the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Mini and Roamio on TWC are both connected via Ethernet
The last couple of days I've been getting choppy playback on the Mini. If I change channel (or switch to live to when it happens on recorded show), it will correct it for a while.
