I have tried changing channels with remote...from the guide and putting in manually....still get same mgs..
Any help will be appreciated...
I thought this was the second excellent episode in a row.
I don't think I've ever wanted to punch a Doctor Who character in the face before but that old grumpy guy, whose name I can't remember, deserved about 4 or 5 of them.
Pretty solid first episode in Chicago, I have high hopes for this series. Great interviews in particular, this so far seems like a great documentary series covering a few specific cities. Hope each one gets its due.
Foo Fighters played a set at Cubby Bear to kick it off:
Ming-Na Wen. Fifty years old. Wow.
Today the Mini started displaying "channel unavailable" or "channel not provided by the tuning adapter" messages when tuning a new channel. The channels tune just fine but the message stays on the screen over the content. I did a network connect and reboot and it went away for a while but has returned. The base Roamio does not have the problem.
I am out of channel info, and when I try to download it I get the message "connection interrupted" under "getting info". I have powered down the Tivo and reconnected to the wireless network but it still won't work.
This happens every few months, and in the past I have been able to get it to work again. Any help is appreciated.
I have a Tivo Premier connected to my wireless with a wireless N adapter.
For those of us with a second home and a TiVo box at each one it would be great to be able to link the two so they mirror each other in programming. Just like IMAP does for your email.
Program a season pass on one box and the linked box adds the same season pass. Delete an episode you just watched and it is deleted on both machines. Change priority order on one and the other follows.
OK, this is sort of a dumb question, but I just got Tivo from my cable company and it does not look like ay Tivo that I can find on the web.
It is about 3" tall and 15" wide and is all black with a large green circle around the power button on the right and a display on the left that shows info when it is booting (also show the clock if selected).
We're experiencing some very faint but annoying crackling sounds on recorded shows (across many cable channels - so it seems universal). It's only noticeable in quiet areas of shows - otherwise it's covered up by the regular audio that's a lot stronger/louder.
The cracking is recorded - it plays exactly the same crackle pattern in the same spot on playback, so it's not a audio playback system problem - of course there are many non-Tivo things to try to blame - HDMI cables, cable card, cable splitters in the attic, cable runs themselves, cable tuning adapter (Brighthouse) - though there is no evidence the crackling has anything to do with the TV - nor do we experience it watching cable TV directly via the Tivo P4, which is used as a tuner with the cable card installed. It only seems to happen in the audio of played back recordings, not in the audio that goes "through" the Tivo. So what else could it be but something in Tivo hardware?
Any ideas? Suggestions welcome.
We are in Year 2 owning this box (w/Lifetime) - thankfully we bought the 3 Year Warranty, if it is defective. Bummer though if we have to send it in as we really wouldn't want to miss out on days to weeks of recording shows while it's in surgery. We would lose our TV tuner too. :-(
I happened to notice my Roamio was recording something this afternoon. I thought perhaps it might be just a suggestion, but then I noticed it was a 3 hour recording, one that crossed multiple programming blocks (one hour program, two half-hour programs, then another hour program)
I confirmed that there were no manual recordings set, nor any scheduled recordings set to record long.
I don't have a ready explanation for this. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?
When I gave Directv the boot and signed up with WOW Cable, they said that I will get On Demand content with their cable cards with my Tivo. Well, tried today and no stations came it. I called WOW and after them checking for 15 minutes, they said the technology doesn't allow for it. What a joke!!
I'm just wondering if anyone unable to use the new Hulu Plus app to dial to the new version of TiVo?
I am unable to do it anymore. I used to be able to do it in previous versions of the Hulu Plus app, and TiVo.
is it possible to Swap drives between Tivo Roamio and Premeire xl with putting them into a computer and modifying the drives?
Anyone know how to still have access to Xfinity on Demand while using an antenna? I don't have a very basic TV service packaged with my internet service which does not include HD service - obviously don't feel like giving Comcast more money. I have a cablecard from Comcast but it seems as soon as you plug an antenna in, it negates your access. Didn't know if there was a work a round.
Is there a way to coordinate programming between boxes in two homes?
Completing our getaway cabin and wondered if it is possible to setup a TiVo there that will mirror a TiVo at home? I am aware I can set up to stream content... But I would rather get a second TiVo box and have the programming on the two boxes mirror each other. Sort of like IMAP does for email.
I suppose another option is to get a TiVo Mini and dive into the VPN network discussion threads to try and get that to function. My past experience with networking leads me to believe that will either work immediately or be a huge time suck before beating the problems into submission.
Ps - I am running a fourteen year old lifetime subscription box. Three hard drive replacements later and standard definition.... it is past time to upgrade to the 21st century! Before I purchase new equipment for two houses I want to figure out the best configuration. Thanks for any help.
The World Series is my favorite sporting event. This year I will not be able to watch the final two games, should it go 7, until the following weekend. Assuming that I am able to avoid spoilers about the outcome from news media, friends, the internet, etc, it occurred to me that my Tivo recordings would spoil it for me anyway!
For instance, say I setup a season pass for MLB or the World Series. I watch game 5, after which of course one team will be up 3-2. Then, the following Sat, I go to watch game 6. If there is only one recording in my queue, I know it only went 6 games and I know who won before I watch. If there are two recordings I know it went 7 games so, again, I know who won game 6!
I thought of setting up manual recordings but I've done that with other shows and Tivo still displays the show title in the queue.
It's a conundrum I tell ya!
Have a Roamio and Slingbox. Both stream to my Andriod phones and tablets.
Does the Roamio stream to a Laptop when away from home? My Slingbox does. I was going to retire the slingbox, but I am often on trips and like to watch my at home content on something bigger than a 5" screen.
I have a Slingbox i use to watch home TV when away on my laptop. Does Tivo Stream have this capability?
I have two TIVOS, a premier and a Roamio Pro.
The Premier works fine.
The Roamio I can not see HBO or get streaming videos from Comcast ( I can get from Netflix though)
New cable cards, reconfig ... to no avail.
Anyone know what is wrong ?
