That Aubrey is one bitter biatch....
I thought Arsenio did a better job on the final project, but wow.. Clay raised some serious $$$
Congrats to Arsenio on the win, never been a Clay fan and glad to see him in second again.
Boston TiVo and Pace are providing details of their first jointly developed product, the Pace XG1, a six-tuner hybrid QAM/IP video gateway featuring TiVo's user interface to be available to operators in the Americas later this year.
The companies announced their partnership in February 2012 to develop set-tops and gateways. TiVo and Pace expect to follow the XG1 with additional solutions for domestic and international operators.
The Pace XG1 includes six tuners, an integrated DOCSIS 3.0 modem, and at least 500 Gigabytes of on-board storage. It will use TiVo's whole-home capabilities, such as multiroom streaming and support for both traditional set-top boxes and the potential for IP client devices, as well as support for TiVo's mobile and tablet applications.
The gateway runs on Broadcom's BCM7425 dual high-definition, dual-transcoding hybrid gateway set-top box system-on-a-chip that offers 3000 DMIPS (Dhrystone million instructions per second) of processing power. The Pace XG1 will support Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) 2.0 and includes Broadcom's BCM3383 DOCSIS 3.0 8-by-4 chip for up to 320 Mbps down and 120 Mbps upstream.
"This partnership will make the TiVo experience easily accessible to more cable operators than ever before," David Sandford, vice president and general manager of TiVo's service provider business, said in a statement. "It will provide operators a best-in-class advanced television solution that they can quickly and cost-effectively deploy and will serve as the gateway to a rapidly expanding choice of content across multiple screens through TiVo's whole-home solutions."
Tim O'Loughlin, president of Pace Americas, added, "There is no denying that the current climate for operators is immensely competitive, and we have been hearing more and more frequently from this community that TiVo is a user experience that they want to offer."
U.S. operators currently deploying TiVo offerings to their customers include Charter Communications, DirecTV, Suddenlink Communications, RCN and Grande Communications, and European operators include the U.K.'s Virgin Media and Spain's ONO.
I still see that the NEW tag on shows are still wrong after 220.127.116.11. I look up a show that had the NEW tag and the date was wrong on the tivo and Zap2it had it right that the show was not new. When will this be fix.:confused:
As usual, so much happened this episode, I know I've already forgotten some of it! Why does the hour go so damn fast??
Robb.... saw that coming a mile away. I knew they'd get it on. But Cat letting Jaimie go was STUPID. WTF was she thinking?? How did she think Robb would be okay with that? Ugh.
Tyrion's face when he saw Ros instead of Shae was masterclass acting. God I love Dinklage so much I can't even take it. So I assume Ros realized she was some kind of replacement for who Cersei was really after. That's some dedication right there for her to keep her trap shut. I don't fully understand why she would do that for him. And I guess he and Varys have reached some kind of friendship? I wanted to wipe that smile off Cercei's face. Great acting on Tyrion's part to her to sell the fact that Ros was his "whore".
Oh Jon Snow... I'm really fearful for him at this point. I don't know what else to say. I hope they don't go the route of the wildling chick falling for him.
Arya and Gendry get out of Harrenhal! Dude is really creepy though. I cannot ever remember his name without looking it up.. it's too odd. You know who I mean. His way of speaking is odd even for this show/time. He was freaked when she named him though, liked that. Wasn't surprised though, she's a smart smart girl.
So Stannis names Davos as his hand. I kinda thought that was a given. Apparently not to Davos. Is there anyone more loyal to Stannis than him??
Lastly, Dany Dany. She's a bit full of herself. I hope she isn't leading Jorah to his death here. I will be rightly pissed if he dies because she's so convinced of her own uber specialness and demands they go to the house of the undead.
Is it next Sunday yet?? Only 2 episodes remain this season. That is so depressing!!!!
Does anyone experience sound dropouts with their Elite? My sound sporadically drops out when I'm performing any of the following:
- When I first turn on my devices. The TiVo is always on so I turn on the TV, then my BluRay Home Theater and then I select the input for TiVo (which is all HDMI). When all is up and running, there's no sound and I wind up having to power everything off and start again. One night I had to do it 7 times for the sound to finally come on.
- When I stop fast forwarding or rewinding. Sometimes after a couple of minutes the sound comes back but most of the time I have to either power everything off then on or switch channels. So weird.
- When I press the TiVo button and get to the menu.
- When I press Zoom or Live TV to get out of the TiVo menu.
- After returning from any of the Manage Recordings & Downloads submenus.
- Sometimes while I'm watching a live or recorded program, the sound will just drop out. Sometimes I think maybe it was in the broadcast but the sound never comes back until I either switch channels or power off then on. When I resume where I was if it were a recorded program, the sound was always there and it was not a broadcast glitch.
- When I press Play for a recorded program.
- When if I mute the sound and when I unmute the sound doesn't come back.
- If and when after I've either watched a DVD on my BluRay or watched an AllShare file from my computer onto my TV and I then switch to the cable input to watch TiVo, there's no sound.
Everytime the sound drops out, and that's been a bunch of times, I always test everything else. The TV is fine on it's own, my BluRay player plays DVDs with sound but it's when I engage the TiVo that things get wacky. I have a cable card w/Cablevision (yuck but it's the only option I have.)
I enjoyed season 1 but not too fond of the changes in season 2. We don't need any of the manufactured drama amongst the gunsmiths, nor the manufactured drama between sis and brother. In season 1 I said they need to lose the sister, but for season 2 they are inserting her everywhere.
Also don't need all of the explosions. But with all that said, I still enjoy seeing the guns, learning some history, and watching them build guns.
For the last week or so, have been having issues about every two days with Tivo Central. When I go there, all the info is pixelized to the point of gibberish, just a bunch of lines and scramble. A reboot always brings it back, but then, about two days later, same problem. Anyone else experiencing this, or know a cause or cure?
Anybody know of a way to run a old sd tv on my patio from a thr22? It's about a 30' coax run that worked fine before I upgraded. I've tried an RCA adapter on the cable at the TiVo and just get static.
I have a Premiere and have been using Streambaby for a few years now playing MP4s with an HP Home Media Server LX195.
Apparently, HP no longer makes these servers. Is there a similar product that would work well for Streambaby/Tivo?
Please let me know. Thank you.
I am between Tivo units (SAT0T60 situation).
Have FIOS TV, now.
While I am trying to figure what to do, I am looking for a website that let's me enter programs/shows, movies that I want, then will text or email me when one is in range (a week or few from air date).
Any helps? Comments? Ideas?
My Tivo HD keeps freezing (image freezes on screen) and then rebooting. I can watch it for about five minutes after it reboots and then the cycle starts again.
To make a long story short, I'm curious as to whether a lack of sufficient power to the Tivo could cause it to restart. It's getting power, but I'm wondering if a new receiver could be causing the Tivo to not get enough power, which might lead to the reboots.
Here is the longer version of the story:
I've read the old thread on this:
I think my problem may be different, though - in that thread the problems seem to be related to either a 2008 software update and/or bad hard drives - and was hoping for some feedback from people who know more about this stuff than I do.
I got a new receiver a few days ago. The problem never occurred before that, so that makes me think the receiver has something to do with it. The hard drive could certainly have gone bad, but that's quite a coincidence.
I have an old APC UPS in my home entertainment center where the battery died and some of the outlets don't work. I plugged a power strip into one of the working outlets and plugged my stuff into the power strip. This was a few years ago, and I've never had any problems.
I'm wondering, though, whether maybe my new Onkyo receiver could be drawing more juice than my old JVC receiver which could be causing the Tivo to get insufficient power and would cause the restarts. Before I spend $200 or whatever on a new UPS, I thought I'd check to see if I'm onto something or if the problem has to be something else (like the hard drive).
The Lawrence Welk Show (John Hamm cameo)

"Lazy Sunday 2" (An SNL Digital Short)

So am I to take it than that Kristen has left the show?
Can anybody tell me why TiVo premiers cannot play movies from a USB or hard drive "out of the box"? Why doesn't TiVo program this functionality in these new machines?
Seems silly to me.
So... I decided to try and do the 6.4 update on my zippered image. I can not get the DVR to connect to get a new phone number for the call in. I have listened to the call and the other end is answering and the modems try to negotiate a connection.... but without success. Anyone have an idea as to what I can do?
Yup, it happened to me. :-(
This morning, the TiVo had this message on it.
I do not believe the power had cycled.
I have the TiVo Series 3 HD.
About a month ago I got the WD MyBook AV 1TB
After replacing the useless/included eSATA cable with one I found at MicroCenter,
it has been working fine for about a month.
My PC (Computer / Disk Mgmt) does recognize the drive via the USB interface,
so at least the disk is alive and spinning in there.
Do I have a 2nd eSATA cable gone bad?!
I did try power cycling the TiVo several times, including manually delaying power up of the WD MyBook.
But I still end up at the "External Storage Missing" screen.
One of my premieres is in a constant reboot cycle after receiving the spring 2012 update. I have been running it with a 1.5TB drive since I got it. I put the original drive (320GB) back in and forced an update and the premiere is working fine.
Is there a way to fix the drive that keep rebooting while still keeping all the recorded shows and settings?
Has anyone successfully re-imaged just the firmware partition from the original working drive?
Any help is appreciated.
OK, it sounds like DTV blew up (or about to blow up) my pair of long ignored workhorse DTV S2's - so pretty soon I may need to upgrade. I am considering my options, and XL4 sounds like not a bad idea as I need 4 tuners, but given my home setup - I had a few questions before taking the plunge
First of all, I've read that Premiere's SD and HD outputs are active at same time - is this still true and is it true for XL4? I was hoping to use my SD video distribution system while still using HDMI for my living room TV. And does SD output work for non-TV content (youtube, netflix, etc?)? Are there any wierd DRM issues with SD output?
Second, someone once said that secret to marital bliss is his and hers Tivos. I want some MRV option to be able to watch two things at once. Is there still no subscription-free/recorder-free MRV option for the Tivo? I want to have ability to watch two separate things at same time, and would really like to have no fans/hard drives in the bedroom while having an HD option. I suppose I could get two non-XL4's, but it does not solve the bedroom problem and it will mean two subscriptions instead of one.
Last question is - is there a way to playback local video content on the new Tivo's? I.e. either UP&P/DNLP or better yet play media directly from a local a computer share? And if it can, does the media have to be converted for compatibility ahead of time?
On my old Directv tivo box (which is probably 7 years old), my local NBC channel is just a black screen. When I try to watch shows that were recorded on NBC within the last couple weeks, there is nothing there so this must have started a couple weeks ago. I am not having this problem on my newer non-Tivo box.
I called Directv today, and their automated recording (prior to talking to a live person) had me restart the DVR. So, I did that and when it was done searching for a satellite signal it said that it could not find all channels. NBC was still black, but now ABC, CBS, PBS, and FOX are not even on the guide and I can't even go to those channels. When I talked to Directv, they said this is a problem that other people are having and that their engineers are working on a fix, but they really don't know what the problem is.
They said that whatever the fix is will need to be downloaded to my box via a phone line. But, my old box hasn't been able to connect via a phone line the last couple years, and Directv wasnt' able to ever get that resolved either (they just told me I need a new box).
So, without local channels, and no fix in sight...I need a new box. What are Directv's new Tivo boxes like? How do they compare to the old directv-tivo boxes, and how do they compare to Directv's own DVRs.?
