Starz to Air All 29 Episodes of 'Spartacus' in Chronological Order for the First Time
For the first time, Starz will air all 29 episodes of Spartacus in chronological order, beginning with Gods of the Arena, then Blood and Sand, and concluding with Vengeance, Friday nights from 9pm - 11pm ET/PT, beginning June 8th.
I have a Tivo HD upgraded with a 1 TB hard drive. After my building shut off power to replace a feed line (and I forgot to switch everything off before that happened), the TiVo has yet to proceed pass the Welcome! Powering Up screen. I plugged back the original 160 GB hard drive in to get the same result, so I suspect that motherboard or power supply is the concern rather than the hard drive.
I've been considering adding or upgrading to a Premiere or XL4 anyway, but if I do, is there any way to access the recordings on the HD hard drive if that TiVo isn't working?
I have an old Hughes SD-DVR40, does the power indicator (green light) remain on all the time, also the fan is kind of loud. This box was hacked about 8 years ago. When it boots, acquiring satellite info will not proceed past 65%.
Does anyone know if you can watch "standard" Hulu (not Hulu plus) on a TiVo Premiere without a Hulu Plus subscription?
Thanks in advance.
Been looking at the $49.95 Premiere refurb sale going on right now and have an upgrade itch that I'm considering scratching.
I have an S3 (on lifetime) that I use in my primary viewing area and an HD in my secondary viewing area that gets very rarely used (6.95 monthly--hacked due to Frontier FIOS and their crappy always on copy once flag).
I'm mostly content with both but with the sale running today have thought about upgrading to the Premiere and it's UI (which i like but is deathly slow on the S3/HD--it IS faster on the premiere right?).
So I've thought about buying a Premiere then trying to get lifetime on my HD and selling it. Also thought about just buying an XL4 and selling everything else as my HD is pretty rarely used (but it does get used).
I guess I'm asking advice from those that have been in my position before--did you upgrade and never look back? Any regrets? Thanks in advance for the advice!

At the end of the current season of Dancing with the Stars, they announced an All-Star season, where viewers could vote for their favorites to come back.
To me, no matter what the judges' score is, the mark of a good performance is one that makes me say "I want to see that again!" and use my TiVo to get an instant replay.
And the fun of voting is to send the message that you want to see that couple again.
So I thought it would be fun to have an all-seasons thread to post about our favorite performances of all time.
One moment that I remember vividly is watching Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya's Argentine tango. It was during one of the spectacular lifts that I had the WHOA moment: Evan is a singles skater. He didn't know bupkis about partnering before he came on this show. And here is he is doing those lifts as if he were an ice dancer and it was no big deal.
I wanted him to have more of those breakout moments, but it never happened. So yeah, I'm curious -- I'd like him to come back, and see if more intense competition would get him to bust out again.
Who do you want to see again?
Is the SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime Tuner a serious threat to Tivo?
Ok, so I'm going to be upgrading my TV from the old caveman set to a new SMART TV. I was wondering if there are any issues using TiVo on SMART TV's? This might be hard to answer since it may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but if anybody has any ideas I'd much appreciate it. Do you know if you lose the functionality of smart tv's if you use the TiVo?
Thanks for your help!
I have recently purchased a Premiere and Premiere Elite and am looking to sell my immaculate S3 HD (TCD652160) for $350 shipped. (I had previously listed two units, but one has already sold.)
I have a posting on CraigsList
and prefer to sell locally (Atlanta, GA), but I am willing to ship if necessary.
The unit is in perfect condition, has TiVo Product Lifetime Service (PLS), and comes with the original remote control, power cord, connection cables, documentation, and shipping carton. I will also include a wireless G adapter (model no. AG0100) and a 6-foot HDMI cable, if desired. I will double-box and ship via UPS anywhere in the continental U.S. at my cost (approx. $20 to $30). I will also absorb the PayPal fee (approx. $10) and will arrange for the PLS transfer to the buyer's TiVo account.
Feel free to respond with any questions or comments or PM me if interested in purchasing.
Is Amazon streaming headed to TiVo? I was just reading this article on Gizmodo and if you look at the graphic it shows TiVo as one of the devices with Amazon prime streaming... until you read the small print.
*Prime instant videos are not currently available on TiVo devices.
Yet even the small print leads me to believe it may be in the works... fingers crossed!
I represent an MSO and we're interested in developing Tivo applications on the new Air framework. If you're a developer who's been doing this in your spare time and would consider some additional work, please PM me your resume and some samples of past accomplishments. Thanks!
Google chief executive Larry Page has revealed that the search giant is still waiting for Facebook to get in touch to allow users to share data between the two companies services.
Google and Facebook have long had a frosty relationship, which was particularly spiked when an adjustment of Googles terms of service preventing Facebook users importing data from the search giant.
Speaking to US talk show host Charlie Rose, as VentureBeat reports, Page explained that Facebook needs to open its data in order to allow users to share information such as contacts between the two services, which, he says, would provide significant benefits.
I think its been unfortunate that Facebook has been pretty closed with their data, Page said.
The Google API requires services to reciprocate the data share and, since Facebook does not, a disconnect between two of the worlds most influential sites which know more about Web users than almost any others developed.
Page further added:
From a users perspective, you say
Im joining Facebook. I want my contacts. In Google, we said, fine. You can get them from Google. And the issue we had is that then Facebook said, no, Google, you cant do the reverse. And so we just said, well, users dont understand what theyre doing. Theyre putting data in, and they dont understand they cant take it out. So we said, well, well only participate with people who have reciprocity. And were still waiting.
Google enjoys reciprocation with other services, which Page says is important because you dont want to be holding your users hostage.
The launch of Google+ last year may have clouded the issue somewhat, give the potential threat that the service has to Facebook.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg left no doubt of his thoughts on the new Google site when last November, he said that the company was building its own little Facebook. Google+ chief Bradley Horowitz fired back, saying the company has happy to be underestimated by its rival, but, in truth, there remains a significant gulf between the two.
Zuckerbergs creation now has more than 900 million users, putting it well ahead of the 170 million Google+ users claimed by Google when the service underwent its first major redesign in April.
Facebook is one of the Webs most influential sites yet, in contrast, Google+ has struggled to gain serious traction, with comScore reporting that users averaged just 3.3 minutes on it during January 2012.
I have four episodes of Secret Circle left. I will probably watch them but I want to know if this show comes to a conclusion or not since it has been canceled.
I had a suspicion that eventually Gloria would be pregnant, but I was still surprised when it happened.
Luke is quickly becoming one of the funniest parts of this show.
Just got an XL4, and replaced a Premiere XL which I'll move to another room. Using all the same connections that worked well with my XL. Everything works, except I get no digital audio output from the optical output (and did previously from the XL). I do get audio output from the composite jacks, which feed my zone 2 speakers.
All audio and video (component) go to my Pioneer Elite A/V receiver, then to the TV. FiOS cablecard switched no problem.
Any thoughts on what is causing the hitch?
Hi, i've a Sony VTX-D800 freeview digital box which has been in the loft (in its box) for the last 18 months or so since switching to BT Vision.
Now it is loft clear out time and before I advertise this on my local freecycle I thought I'd offer it here.
All you'll need to do is cover the cost of postage (royal mail parcels).
Ps I know it is TiVo compatible but don't know if it works with the updated freeview.
Old series 2 Toshiba RS-TX20 DVD-R/DVD-RW w/Tivo basic service w/HD broken. Prefer to sell it locally. Seattle area. $25 OBO (taking a guess at the price.) Thanks!
OMG. I had to start this thread if only to say... If your pants have already split at the seams, you probably shouldn't be wearing them on national television.
Fantassia was wearing the most hideous outfit I've seen in quite some time. She and Joshua simply destroyed a song by one of my favorite performers of all time.
That was ridiculously bad, but I now know why they compare him to her at times.
