Sorry if this is a duplicate but couldn't find the answer on the forum. I have a cable from Charter and without a box it receives the basic network channels using the tv. I also have an antenna that also receives lesser amount of channels.
I just got a TiVo and it works fine using the antenna. I then tried to use the cable plugged into the antenna plug and rescanned. It said it found channels but none of them seem to work. I tried several times with no luck.
If the cable works on the tv why wouldn't it work on the TiVo box?
I was thinking the cable would be a better choice as there are more channels and in theory should be more stable.
Is there a trick to this or should I forget the cable?
Tivo sending a replacement for my premiere HD. It died but not the hard drive, either power supply or MB. Audio no video. Any way is there a way for me to unload old hard drive into new HD by removing hard drives and using computer or other method. Really would prefer not to lose recordings and settings and start from scratch
We have made a few bug fixes to our 20.2.2 update, and are now making 126.96.36.199 available via the Priority List. (http://tivo.com/priority
Here are some of the issues that have been resolved:
* Customers in Pittsburg were hearing Spanish instead of English on their ABC channel (WTAE). This issue also affected a limited number of other networks and shows and resulted in customers hearing "Audio Description" audio. It should now be resolved for all.
* Channel Logos have been restored in the Guide
* Some customers were hearing sound effects when pressing CHAN UP/DOWN in live TV. These actions should now be silent.
If Comcast gets to market with a whole-home DVR with thin clients before TiVo I think it is time to prepare for rapture...
...hardware for a new multiroom setup based on a central gateway ... that streams video to IP-connected extenders called the XI3...
I do not know where to begin looking, but I am just setting up TiVo Desktop and have questions about the format of the video. I plan to transfer some things I want to keep onto my computer with the intention of burning to a disc. Do I need to do anything special, or will they be in a format that will make this easy. (Also a bit new to burning DVDs, so please bear with me.) If there is already a thread, please point me to it and I will read through. Thanx in advance for any help.
Andy and Johnathan Hillstrand, who star in the popular Discovery series, will appear on shopping network QVC this Sunday to shill their Deadliest Catch Alaskan Style Crab Cakes.
The brothers , who captain the Time Bandit fishing boat, will go live at noon on David Venables show, In the Kitchen with David, hoping to reel in big bucks by selling their crab cakes which, according to press materials, are packed with three types of 100 percent USA caught crab, wild caught cod fish and the Hillstrand familys secret blend of seasonings.
Here is your chance to try some "official" Deadliest Catch crab.
Well, it's over for another season. I really enjoyed the All Stars season.
My least favorite of the 3 women won. I would have much rather had Shawn or Kelly win. But it's just my personal preference. Melissa really did a great job this season, so props to her and Tony. But I'm still disappointed.
I think Shawn and Derek might have won if they hadn't broken the rules yet again. I think Shawn was the best dancer, and I find her much more entertaining than either Kelly or Melissa. But I think the judges were right to mark them down and I think the audience was less forgiving this time as well.
Stupid Wendy threatening Jax.
Donal Logue's Toric character might be interesting if he sticks around awhile.
Clay finally gets a beatdown but is still hanging around. Ugh.
Pope was interesting earlier in the season, now he's barely on the show. Enjoyed the first half of the season, second half not as much.
OK, I have to say I'm watching a lot of sitcoms this season for whatever reason, and to me New Girl is the funniest, and running away with it. This episode had me laughing so hard it hurt. Especially the entire "Z is for Zombie" scene at the end was comedy gold. Had to pause to breathe. TiVo saves the day again!
(Full disclosure: due to poor scheduling on the networks' parts and a lack of tuners on my part, combined with a wife and teenage daughter, I don't get to see my favorite from last year, Happy Endings, anymore).
My TIVO HD successfully auto-transfers a program routinely to my computer. But I can't see or access my computer on the Now Playing list, usually found below the Deleted folder. Using TIVO Desktop I can access the DVR and see/transfer files from the DVR to my computer. Transferring files from my computer to the TiVo has worked flawlessly in the past, but in the past month it has been MIA.
I was successful in restoring the connection once when I rebooted the DVR and I could see my computer and access the programs that were in my TiVo programs folders. But that only lasted for about 2 days and have not been able to restore it since then with the same technique. I have rebooted the computer many times during this period and even powered down the modem and router without success. The program guide is being successfully updated and I can get to Netflix video downloads as well as YouTube videos.
The new DirecTV Receiver with TiVo does it have OTA input with it?
Seems like when I do the 30sec pass and clock it reboots?
I have been a Tivo user for 12 years and one of my HD tivo boxes has a bad HD (3 yrs old) so I was talking to tech support and they said I should talk to sales and see if they could do anything to get me a discount on a new box. After talking to the sales guy for a bit, I told him I would be willing to upgrade both my current HD boxes to Premiere boxes and pay the new (more expensive monthly rates) if he could do something to discount the price of the boxes. He said ... "They had a deal yesterday and it expired." Telling me that was kinda dumb since it's not going to help my current problem ... he agreed and put me on hold to talk to a supervisor. The offer was if I bought 2 XL boxes at the 800 bucks price they would throw in the MoCa just for me. I find this to be crazy. He knows I am a long time customer and this is what he came back with? I was trying to save a little money not lay out 800 bucks for hardware.
I have always loved Tivo and thought i would pay more for the TIVO DVR instead of going to the cable DVR because they tried be customer focused. As a 12 year subscriber, I have given then tons of free word of mouth advertising, but when I need a little something from them ... I get a big upsell.
Cable DVR ... can't be all that bad.
I now have a series 3 Tivo HD with cable card. I just got rid of the cable box.
I can no longer get HBO, Encore, Stars or any other ON-Demand content. My cable company says it has to do with Tivo and it's own On-Demand services. That makes no sense since Tivo doesn't offer HBO, Encore, and Stars. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this with Tivo or a work around? Thanks for any and all replies.
Some good info but a whole lot of baloney.
Hook can do the heart trick too? I don't know where he gets his magic to do it... but ok. Cora must be a REALLY good teacher.
When you're going to the red room, why not wear a flame suit? And don't give me a line about "things don't go with you"... the amulet did.
So the post-sleeping-curse room is right under the current-sleeping-curse room. I wonder how long the writers agonized over that decision before giving up and taking the easy way. :)
So, we now know don't believe anything Cora or Hook tells you. Ever.
I really am laughing at next week's episode title:
Queen of Hearts. Gosh... I wonder who THAT could be? :)
If you didn't watch the coming attractions, they explained that next week's episode is the "Winter Finale". The mid-season premiere is in mid-January.
I have two new TiVos coming on Thursday but the cable installer won't be here until Monday. Can I still run guided setup if I don't actually have cable coming in to the box?
MY Series 3 HD TCD648250B is stuck on "welcome, powering up...". I had a WD 300GB drive here that is known to work. I downloaded WINMFS and ran a copy . It took about an hour and said successful, but when I put in the 300GB, it's the same thing. Welcome, powering up... and after a few minutes, reboot.
I took my Fluke to the main power supply connector and got the following voltages while on:
Seems ok doesn't it? Could my hard drive be messed up to a point where making a copy isn't good enough? How do I make a new drive from scratch? Saving my old shows isn't hat big a deal, but I wasn't to watch TV tonight!
