My wife uses the YouTube feature of our Series 3 all the time. Or she used to. Sometime in the last couple of months, it became unusably slow. It now takes tens of seconds just to show the menu where YouTube, Amazon, etc., then another 15-20 seconds to bring up the YouTube interface, then several seconds per menu item to scroll down to "Search", and then, when typing in a search, every time it starts doing its partial lookups, it gets stuck for more tens of seconds at a time.
Anyone ever seen this, or, even better, know how to fix it?
Four HDMI outputs? Then I could use my tv's multiple HDMI inputs to use picture in picture or picture by picture on my tv to watch two shows at once!
Can anyone help me? I installed Tivo Desktop 2.83 on 2 computers. It does not work on either one when trying to view Recordings to Transfer. Sometimes it says it cannot detect a DVR, sometimes it says "there was an error while attempting to retrieve data from the selected DVR".
The DVR is set to allow transfers. I called Tivo and they were not much help, we rebooted Tivo, rebooted PC, tried Tivo Beacon instead of Bonjour, tried turning Tivo Server on. He finally said I would have to call my router company. Then all of a sudden the recordings showed up on Tivo Desktop but only 1 time and they haven't showed up since.
When I run Tivo Desktop troubleshooting it says:
Tivo DVRs on your Network
Test execution failed: "Read NPL from DVR"
Error reason: "can't send request https (some IP address) /etc etc
Error details: WinHttpSendRequest fails, error code: 12002, description: The request has timed out.
The DVR's Media Access Key does not match the key in Tivo Desktop for the following DVrs:
(name of my DVR here) (some # here)
You will not be able to transfer recordings from these DVRs
Test execution failed "Find DVRs that do not have transfer permissions set"
Error reason: "can't send request http: (some ip address) / etc etc
Error details: WinHttpSendRequest fails, error code: 12002, description: The request has timed out.
I checked and the subnet mask is the same on tivo and computer.
NOTE: I have set the Media Access Key correctly, multiple times.

So, I read here and elsewhere I can get this with an XL4 in SF Bay Area (Oakland).
Order one, go to get Comcast account, rep tells me no go; can't get On Demand without their set top box. Go back to Tivo support site; says to get it I have to have On Demand subscription.
OK, so now back to Comcast: can I get this or not with just a Premiere?
Or should I just get the regular ol' Comcast service up and running and then start pestering them to ADD the on demand service?
Searched around and can't seem to find any answers for an issue I'm having (w/ Tivo HD). We had a power outage the other night, since then I no longer get a picture when attempting to watch Live TV, just "searching for signal". It gets better... My TiVo will still record shows, and records them fine on the tuner that is not currently being watched, but as soon as i switch to that tuner during a recording, the recording stops despite the TiVo saying it's still recording. Example... this morning I set GMA to record at 7am, when I woke up I swapped tuners around 7:15a and started watching the recording, at 15 minutes in the recording ended (where I initially started watching, but as soon as I swapped I skipped the beginning of the recording). It will currently only attempt to record scheduled recordings, if the secondary tuner is not recording a scheduled program it will not have 30 minutes of video backed up on it. There is definitley a signal coming through, and the TiVo seems to still have the ability to record since I have several perfect recordings from this week. And one more thing, this is on ALL channels (HD, Digital, etc.) on my FIOS lineup. This didn't happen immediately after we got power restored. When I first booted it up Live TV initially worked ok. It happened sometime in the middle of Sunday night. My other TiVo (same model, same type of cable card) is working fine.
Is this a sign that the HDD is possibly dying? I've been using TiVo's for awhile, I've lost 3-4 HDD's in that time but never saw issues like this. Previously I was alerted by the unit locking up or getting a GSOD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It comes with remote, power cord, Wireless G adapter including the USB cord, and Product Lifetime Service. I have sold two others and I am always quick on the Lifetime transfer. Opening at $299, Buy It Now $400. New here, but have been on ebay a very long time and have 100% positive feedback.
Just found out that "Damages" became a DirecTV exclusive showing on their AUDIENCE Network last year. First episode of Season 5 was last night. Am I the only member of the TCF who watched the first three seasons of this show and didn't know about this already?
Now we're talking, don't mess with Marta/Veronica. JR is still my hero. Rebecca's looking good as eye candy. And now Bobby's wife has some dark secret from her past. I don't remember the original Dallas having so many twists and turns crammed together. A little time to relax in between twists would be ok by me.
I'm getting an XL4 today to replace my 2 tuner Premiere. My original intention was to simply swap out the boxes & move the cablecard and TA but that leaves me with a spare Premiere in the garage with a lot of recorded stuff. I know I can move my season passes, but I suspect not the recorded content (or can I?)
What else can I do with the Premiere?, if I move it somewhere else will I be able to watch those recorded shows on the XL4 over my LAN?. I don't really need a second DVR but it seems a waste to just sit on a shelf gathering dust.
Netgear N 150 router runs at 2.4 GHz. Called TiVo on the setup (I had switch set wrong w/o my reading glasses). But the tech was concerned that the device lights green instead of blue. Green supposedly indicates G router, a slower transfer vs faster N router faster where the LEDs are blue.
Does anyone know if the LEDs maybe indicate the xmit frequency in GHz with green = 2.4 GHz and blue = 5 GHz? But if so, do I get N router faster performance even with the green light?
Haven't downloaded Netflix or anything other than the setup data.

I have a TiVo XL4 and for the first time since 2008 I'm moving to a place where my only option is TWC with SDV. How bad does a tuning adapter mar the TiVo experience? Do you guys miss recordings or get any other oddness? I'm a bit concerned.
Any kind of show like this?
I really wish they made a show about a magic world, with schools like Hogwarts and all that.
My friend told me he read a rumor somewhere that they were going to start making a series like this, but I wasn't sure.

Hi TiVo Friends, Sorry if this has been asked before, but I did a search and didn't find an answer to this question.
To make a long story short we have finally upgrade to a Premiere XL from a single tuner S2. We're also moving to a new location and will be using FiOS TV. Currently have Optimum and one STB for the S2.
I need to order FiOS TV and I know I need a CableCard for the Premier XL, but was wondering if I should also get an HD STB to go alongside the Premier XL? The reason I ask this is that with our Series 2 unit changing channels can be incredibly slow. I don't want to spend the money on an extra HD STB if I don't need it, but have never seen a Premiere XL in use nor have I seen FiOS TV before so I don't know what I'll be missing w/o the HD STB, but want to order it if I don't need it.

My Premiere Elite I've had for about a month keeps recording repeats on season passes that are set up to record first run only. For example, all the "Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson" episodes this week are repeats. They are marked as repeats and each one shows an earlier original air date. But they are all scheduled to be recorded on my season pass that is set up to record only first run.
I transferred my season passes using the online utility from my old box to the new one, and it has been doing this ever since. Anyone else experiencing this? Any idea what is causing it?
Hi all, just set up a couple of Premieres over the past week. Everything so far is great except I cannot get Hulu or Netflix to work. I have spent hours on the phone and online with Tivo with no results.
Netflix just goes to the red screen for while, then says can't connect.
Hulu never gives me a device code on either unit, just says "loading" forever. If I enter my username/pass it never goes past the "waiting" button. The Hulu sample videos do load fine, if that means anything.
Amazon video and Youtube both work flawlessly.
Netflix and Hulu both work fine on our desktops and laptops.
I have a Fortigate 200 firewall running in NAT mode, 6 mb (tested) dsl running of a modem in bridge mode. Policies are set pretty basic, any internal allowed any policy any destination. I have watched the firewall log while Netflix connects, saw multiple successful connections, no denies, no timeouts, yet it still errors out.
It's like something is not going through at the authentication phase or something. I'm at a loss, I think Tivo is as well. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello, I am in the process of building a new home. I have been with DirecTV for 10+ years (have always used the DirecTV DVR's) and am going to be switching to Comcast when we move in. I have heard that the Comcast DVR's are junk, so i'm going to get 2 TiVo DVR's for our two TV's. Here are a couple questions I have:
1- What exactly do I need to connect both TiVo boxes so I can see and view the recorded shows on each box. I will have both units connected to my router, is that good enough?
2- Can each unit see the other unit, or can you only watch recorded shows on another TV from one specified unit? My DirecTV DVR's could all see each other and you could watch any recorded show on any unit. I'm hoping TiVo works the same way.
3- Only 1 coax is required even though you can have up to 4 tuners (with the high end model), correct?
