When they showed the screenshot of Jinks' personnel record, there was a big QR code, so I scanned it and got this:
Steven Jinks (W13 Agent NXN43772632-30032). Murdered by Walter Sykes. Revived.
I just changed providers from Cablevision to Verizon Fios. How to I change/update the guide data to reflect the new channel lineup?
Has there been any news of VOD roll out proceeding beyond Beantown?
One of our notebooks keeps dropping internet connections. To see if it's a wireless card issue, we turned off the wireless card and used a usb wireless adapter and still connections keep dropping. I've heard that sharing can create these issues, so I'm trying to turn off all sharing. I have one PC that keeps showing up in TIVO's NOW SHOWING list. I want to turn this pc off but don't know how.
I've searched everywhere in the Network and Sharing section of Windows 7 and can't figure where to turn whatever it is that I need to turn off. Can anybody who knows there way around windows 7 help me navigate to whereever it is that i need to go to and turn off so that the TIVO can't see it?
Thank you in advance!
I have set TiVo to record "Meet the Press
" on Sunday at 11a but it doesn't record until 11p Sunday night; which if fine with me, I had something else sched for 11a that conflicted.
But what records at 11p is "Press:this
". The info shows "Meet the Press"
but the program that runs "Press:this
Note the "first aired" date on the Info page
So last week my series 2 DT when I turned the TV on was video frozen. What I mean by that is there was a picture of a show and not moving. None of the remote buttons did anything to affect the condition. So I unplugged and rebooted the unit. It started working again after the reboot, but did show some signs of temporary freezing w/some pixelation. I only watched TV for a short time, maybe an hour, and it froze and pixelated a few times. Annoying yes, but it otherwise worked. Shut the TV off to sleep and when I woke in the morning turned on the TV to watch the morning news it was frozen again. I rebooted it and it worked again before I left for work. After work it was frozen again. Another reboot and it was frozen within the hour. I assumed the hard drive was failing. It has the original drive and an upgrade drive. I took the cover off and it was caked with dirt especially on the upgrade drive aux fan so I took it to work and used the compressed air to blow it out clean. I grabbed my series 2 single tuner and hooked it up (it hasn't been hooked up since Nov last year and worked when disconnected) It wouldn't even fire up. I took the cover off of it too and it had some dirt build up also and I blew it out clean too. I think the power supply is bad because the green light didn't even come on. It still wouldn't fire up. After doing some research found out about "capacitor plague". Now here's the odd thing, The DT HAD "capacitor plague" but acted like a dying hard drive, but the ST didn't have it but acted like a bad power supply!
I think I'm going to replace the power supply in both to start with and see if that cures the problems with them. I was going to swap power supplies but found out even though they look similar they aren't the same and therefore not swappable. I found power supplies for both on ebay considerably cheaper than weaknees has them for. If it fixes them both great! If not then it's a good thing I don't have lifetime subs on them.
I then went back farther and grabbed my series 1 svr2000 and plugged it in.......IT still works! with no phone line at my house, I put a Turbonet card in it a few years back, and after receiving a 50' ethernet cable in the mail today, plugged it into my network, activated the box (after successfully making a test call) I now have up to date guide data!
So in the span of a week, I went from 4 working TiVo's to 2! Good thing I only have 2 TV's setup. I do have another working TV but don't have it set up right now. I down graded since my ex-fiance' and her daughter moved out.
I do have another svr2000 and I think a Turbonet card might fix it too because I burned out the modem in 03 trying to upgrade to an Airnet card. I'm just not sure if it did any other damage too. It did still work as a manual recorder though.
I also tried putting the 2 large hard drives in the svr2000 from the first svr2000 that I upgraded but when it powered up I got GSOD loop, so I had to put the original drive back in. I'm going to redo the large drives with a fresh image and see if that gets them going again.
I'm just happy to have 2 TV's and 2 TiVo's again.
Alright, so I have had my premiere for close to a week now and I decided to test out the space by basically keeping all recording even though I want to delete them. I just want to see how much space I actually have.
Currently, I have 15 things recorded. They are all HD and all of them have an extra 2 minutes on them because I record everything 1 minute before and 1 minute after the scheduled time of a show. It is all one hour shows so including the extra time, that's 15 hours and 30 minutes of recordings. The space bar at the top says 47%.
Now unless I am mistaken, if this thing can hold 75 hours of HD programming, shouldn't 15 or so hours be less than 47% of the available space? :/
I watch wrestling on Monday night and Thursday night theare the only two nights that the recorder just stopsI have been in the room to start it again sometimes it happen more the once recording history tells me notthing.I did ask about this recently and someone said the only thing they could think of to fix it was to delete everything.I can't really do that because there is to much in My Now Playing list that I have to watch so what can I do?
Hello. New to the forum. Ignorant on technology, but big fan of TiVo.
Just today I got a DirecTV HD Tivo DVR hooked up in my new house. Unfortunately, the tech knew nothing about TiVo and left before making sure it properly was downloading program information.
I assumed it would be like the old TiVo systems where I picked a local number and it called out. I guess all of these TiVo systems now call the same 800 number?
Anyhow, I'm trying to get it to call out, but it keeps failing. I have a working phone line running from the TiVo into a working phone jack.
Anyone know why it won't make a successful call?
My backup plan is to do the networking thing, which it seems people in the know prefer, but I'm really fine with the old school method.
If I do the network, is there special equipment I need to buy that DirecTV does not provide? Or can I connect via any wireless router/modem? I have one from Comcast for my internet.
Please advise--and realize you are typing to someone who is ignorant on tech jargon. Thanks.
I wish we had some kind of insight into what Bill was really thinking.
Sookie should have had no problem zapping the crap out of the gang with her fairy light, not sure why it wasn't working just because she had her hands tied.
I am amused by "The Unit" reunion we've got going on :)
I enjoyed this episode.
It was nice to have the characters confirm my thinking that another news organization saying they have 2 sources doesn't count as one of your sources.
The whole "this is going to be funny later" comment with the BB was highly amusing.
I did think it was strange that McAvoy would eat some pot cookies at a party he was hosting.
I really enjoyed this episode. There seemed to be subtle humor all throughout.
What of the time bomb watch? Just pure fun by the writers? Or more to it?
Well Last night, I decided to just stop trying to use the TIVO Wireless N Adapter.
Every couple of weeks it would drop the connection to the network. I think it was related when the IP Lease Expired. I had set it to a static IP Address to try to avoid any issues.
Without fail every 2 weeks it would crap out and the TIVO would get DNS / GAteware errors. The Box could not connect to the TIVO Service anymore.
In the end, I decided to take out the TIVO Wireless N Adapter and use a Dlink DAP-1522 Wireless Bridge. Haven't had any issues since.
Just posting my own personal experiience with the Wirelss Adapter. Everyones milage may vary.
I used to be able to play my Tivo recordings using WMP, now it just hangs and must be killed.
Any suggestions on how to debug this?
Windows 7 64 bit
WMP 12 (the latest)
Hello - Looking for folks with experience using Apple AirPort Extreme and Express. I am looking at using one of each to improve the wireless reach in my home...I am hearing that adding one or two expresses to the network is useful.
How does your TiVO perform streaming HD? I am using a Premiere Elite
All of a sudden, tonight, my TivoHD is showing horizontal lines no matter what I'm watching... Live TV, paused TV, a recording, a menu, etc.
This is appearing using both the Composite and Component video outputs. So I don't think it is the TV, because they are on different input sources, and others (DVD, Wii, etc) do not show this problem. In fact, the Wii was tested using the same Composite input on the TV. It only showed the horizontal lines when the Tivo was being used as the source.
Here is a video of the issue as caught by my camera on my phone. It is especially noticeable around 0:13 & 0:14. I fear there is an internal problem with the Tivo, unrealted to the typcial hard drive failures I've experienced in the past. This unit is exactly 5 years old this month.
Any ideas as to the cause & solution to the problem?
So I'm seeing these things called "commercials" during the baseball game broadcasts that I've been tuned into... during those commercials there've been commercials stating that the NFL Sunday Ticket is now "FREE" with DirecTV.
Am I mis-hearing this? Has it gotten to the point that DirecTV is no longer able to command the premium fees that they used to get for the Sunday Ticket package?
I know a few years ago they had the NASCAR Track/Race pass package that they used to charge for and they wound up having to make that free for all DirecTV subscribers as they couldn't get enough paid customers for it and/or couldn't turn it into anything other than a loss leader for themselves. Is that what the Sunday Ticket is for them now too?
I'm sure that there are up charges of some sort with this "free" plan, but I'm just amazed that the NFL and/or DirecTV have gotten to the point that they have to offer the games for free. I guess it's a sign of the damage that has been done to the package compliments of the NFL RedZone channel existence on other providers.
I had a slice upgrade to 6.4a go south on me and now the only way I get video is to record the program???
Anyway, can I just copy the root and active partitions, leaving the media partitions alone, from a working unit on to the bad drive and have a working drive with the old recordings? Can it be that simple???
Or, does somebody know something about only having live video if recording the program? It's not the unit. I have tried several and the problem remains, regardless of which HDVR2 I install it in.
