I have a used TCD648250B Series 3 HD tivo for sale. I upgraded it to a 1TB Western Digital Green drive several years ago and I have never had any problems with it.
It also comes with Lifetime service which I will transfer to the new owner.
I am selling it because I sold my living room tv so I no longer need a second tivo.
It comes with all the original packaging including remote, hdmi cable, component cables, rca cables and power cord. I also have a glo remote I no longer use which I will send along with it, if you want it.

I just went through an issue with my XL4 that I'd like to share. I am a Cable One customer in the Prescott, AZ area. I got my XL4 in August 2012. Initially, my signal stregnth was on the Tivo channel stregnth meter was between 78 and 80 for all of my channels...SNR was 31-32. I had occasional issues with "pixelation" and I was advised by a Tivo rep to install an amplifier which imporved my sinal stregnth to 88-90...SNR was still 31-32. I had no further issues until last Friday February 15 when I lost 6 of my HD channels. Signal stregnth on the affected channels went from 66 to 0 while all the other operating channels were stable at 82 -85. SNR was 28-29. I bypassed the amplifier and went straight from the wall jack to the Tivo with a new cable and the signal stregnth was down to 74 on the operating channels, and absolutely nothing on the 6 channels I lost initially. I moved the Tivo to another room with a different cable input jack and the readings were the same. Cable guy came out Monday and immediately blamed the amplifier....I watched as he put his meter in the wall jack, and then in the amplifier output jack....the bar readings were obviously higher with the amplifier and he reconnected the cables using my amplifier in the loop. He changed the cable card with no improvement. He then got another tech out to the house and together they couldn't figure out what was causing the issue. They went outside to one of their trucks for over 35 minutes...I could see they were both on their phones. Finally one guy came back to the house with a splitter and proceeded to remove my amplifier from the setup....the other guy came in a couple of minutes later and told the tech to wait a few minutes before he hooked everything back up. He got another phone call and then told the guy that it was OK to proceed. Not only did the affected channels come in, but the signal stregnth was now at 92-94 WITHOUT the amplifier and the SNR was at 35-37. When I asked what caused this dramatic transformation the guy said "we removed your amplifier". When I questioned why this didn't cure the problem the first time he removed the amplifier he was mute.
There is no doubt in my mind that they did something outside of my home to the system to make this dramatic change. I am posting this so that it might be of some help when any of you guys/girls are dealing with a cable company signal issue. I wish they had shared what they did to cure the problem, but whatever it was, my Tivo has been operating perfectly since Monday evening.
Is there a reason the Tivo N wireless adapter is setup so that I can't use it as a generic wireless receiver by plugging it into a switch? Tried it and the N adapter never connects unless it's plugged directly into the Tivo.
The reason I'd like to use it this way is that my Premiere sits right next to a Series 2, and if I could use a switch then I could run the Series 2 at N speeds.
Yes, I know, I can buy a different Wireless N unit and plug it into a switch, but I already own the Tivo unit.
Maybe a silly question but...I was watching an OnDemand program when I get a message saying it must close the OnDemand screen to record a program (I was already recording one program). I know you can watch a pre-recorded show while recording two, but does this not apply to OnDemand? Is it the same with Netflix?
I have an older hdr 112 that needs a new drive, used winmfs on the drive but keep getting error 8 so if I can find an image file I would like to just get a new drive set up. I have the drive and just need the file. This box has lifetime service and even then isn't worth a whole lot.

I'm sure this show isn't top of most folks watch list, it's one of those amusing filler shows for us.
I just posted mainly to say how I thought it was amusing that ABC has opted to use the classic old "To be continued " trick this week with both Castle and this show. Not to mention both are using the "they took my child!!" hook as well.
The show is still entertaining enough to keep watching.
Two weeks in a row I've been watching Once Upon a Time and had the recording frequently do some weird jumping: you're watching, then it jumps back a few seconds and repeats what you just saw, then it jumps forward to catch up with where it should be (skipping stuff). Last week it was annoying; this week it made the show almost unwatchable at times.
A month or two ago we had some weird semi-seconds of blackness in recordings every once in a while which might or might not be related.
At least for the 6 or 7 shows we saw in the last week, this was the only show doing that, and it's possibly the only show we saw on that channel.
We're using Comcast (unfortunately) digital cable.
Any ideas whether it's a source problem (e.g., the cable channel), a cable card, a tuner, a drive ... ? The Series 4 is just a year or so old and the cable card is brand-new (we had to replace it) so I'd be pretty shocked if it was the hardware, but ...
I'm so not liking the two aspiring Broadway musical writers. Jimmy is just angry all the time, and not believably - it comes across to me as "stage angry," the kind of thing you'd need to do to sell angry in the space of a few minutes in the artificiality of a play or musical, but rings completely fake in the pseudo-real-world they purport to portray.
Kyle, on the other hand, is way too "blue sky." way too disturbingly optimistic, cheery, etc. There would be no way that he could stay that way after hanging around this long with Jimmy.
And speaking of badly written characters, even Karen is starting to grate on me. For instance, after Jimmy barges in on the rehearsal, then blasts Karen, she just stands there wide-eyed and whimpers, and this has been the kind of thing she has done numerous times. In the real world, she would have turned to him and said "Hey, listen. I've been working my ASS off trying to help you make something of scribbles on scraps of paper. I even got a real, legit director interested. And now you have the GALL to barge in on a closed rehearsal because things didn't go quite according to schedule? Get a grip." But no, she just stands and whimpers. (Ironically, this is the very thing that the dramaturg criticizes about how Julia has written Marilyn.)
I really wish this show were more like Nashville. While that show tends to amplify the "soap opera" plotlines, it still somehow feels more real. This show is very comic book by comparison. *sigh*
I did like the opening number, and Jennifer Hudson killed the number from "The Wiz." I thought the number they did near the end for Bombshell was utter crap (mostly for the same reasons the dramaturg hated it).

Past few days while streaming Netflix on two separate TiVo dvrs I keep losing connection. At first I thought it was my cables. When it started happening on the other box I figured my router was the problem. I reset it. I still have the same problem but I can stream to several Xbox and ROKU boxes with no issue. The connection loss clears after a few seconds. Has anyone else had this same issue?
I have 2 Tivos, a Premier Elite (2 years) and an S3 HD (4 years). Switched from Verizon Fios to TWC in Jan since Verizon doesn't carry Pac 12 Network. Received a new cable card and tuning adapter (both Cisco) for both Tivos (Verizon Fios did not require a Tuning Adapter and used a Motorola CC). All was well until last week. Premier started losing channels and only recording partial shows in Season Pass programs. After several calls to Tech support, visits by 2 different TWC reps, calls to Tivo customer support, reconnecting Tivo system, rebooting Tivo and TA together and separately I almost gave up. One last time TWC rep came out and we called Tivo. After changing the TA and trying 3 cable cards it was determined the Tivo cable card reader was at fault! Primarily because under the Cablecard diagnosis screen the only message that was provided was "failure to Load" on all 3 cards. Funny thing is I could still get HD network channels via the TA and Cable card?? Tivo & I agreed to an exchange for the Tivo box and it is on its way.
Yesterday, the S3 (same set up as previous Premier Tivo Box) didn't record a program from the Season Pass Manager. Started my investigation to determine a diagnosis. To Do list shows "none scheduled" for every Season Pass program even though the Guide shows the programs (ie daily newscasts). I can go a week out on the Guide and select a program to record and the the To Do list has it set up to record. Just can't get Season Pass Manager to recongnize programs in the Guide? Tried to record a new Season Pass from Tivo online - message on Tivo is that it can't find the program although it is scheduled for current day. Cable card diagnosis screen also shows "failure to load" when accessed but I am receiving all of my channels in the guide and can watch and record (individually). I also received an error code 161-38 from Tivo indicating I am not receiving all my services and to contact the provider? Again, I am getting all of my cable channels, I can record, just can't use the Season Pass manager or online tivo services. I have done a 2x reconnect to Tivo service followed by a reboot without success. I called TWC and tech advised 161-38 is from too many 'Hits" but didn't know how to resolve. I can have a tech come back out but I think that would be useless! My choices unless someone has suggestions are 1) Go with TWC DVR equipment (only 2 tuners), 2) Return to Verizon Fios and keep my Tivos without Pac 12 network or 3) continue down the black hole trying to fix the current TWC Cablecard, Tuning Adapter and Tivo mess. Not sure if I should reset the Tivo and start all over. Thanks for letting me vent and I am open for any suggestions.
Does anyone know if VideoReDo ever offers sale or promotional prices? I'm trying it out and it seems like a good program, but I'm just not going to need it all that often, and $99 is a bit steep for me (for the h264 version). Just curious if it's worth waiting.
I have a series 4 TiVo and a TiVo Stream device that I use to download shows onto my iPad 2. The problem I'm having is turning on the closed captioning on the shows downloaded to the iPad. The CC works on the DVR when I watch the shows on my TV, but the same show won't have CC on the iPad. The button to turn CC is available on screen, but simply won't do anything. Rebooting the TiVo, the Stream device, the iPad or uninstalling and reinstalling the TiVo app on the iPad has no effect. How do I fix this?
My HDVR2 is working fine but I have noticed that (usually in the afternoon) it makes a couple of brief telephone calls - I spot that my telephone is in use and the amber LED on front of the unit is on. I always check on the System Information screen when the daily call was scheduled to be made, that it succeeded, and when the next one is scheduled. These brief calls are always unrelated to the scheduled times and never register on the System Information screen in any way. What's going on?
I have a very-very old single-def TV and a Tivo Premier. All of this stuff worked beautifully together until the 16th.
I cannot stream any PlayOn show to my television. All shows go into the "To Do" list but never move to "My Shows". I've restarted Tivo; unplugged/restarted Tivo; reinstalled PlayOn and PlayLater. No joy.
PlayOn support told me to disable my anti-virus. No joy.
I've seen other postings about Tivo Desktop and kmttg and Tivo To Go not working ... something to do with a date and an expired cookie. I don't have any of those. But, it is interesting that their problems all started after 16th, just like mine.
I've tried installing Tivo Desktop. Don't like it. And it seems to block my PlayOn from showing up on my television.
I would have never bought lifetime subscription to PlayOn if I had known I was going to have to depend on antiquated crap software that never gets updated. A lot of the PlayOn scripts are not working; but, that's a whole nother itch fest.
Right now, I just want to get PlayOn streaming again. I've tried the things mentioned for the other problems ... change the computer date, modify the Tivo desktop cookie. No joy.
PlayOn support is no help at all. But, then, they've never been.
Right now I've got software I can't use. And downloaded TV shows on my computer that I can't access.
Anyone have any ideas why PlayOn and pyTivo (I use pytivo-jkasyan-fork) are no longer working??

A virus of some sort prevents tracking the phone to an exact location. Can anyone explain this? The explanation for this slipped by me. The FBI wastes hours not sending anyone because exact location is not known. Once they decide to send someone it is of course only two agents who split up so one cannot back up the other. A spectacular spree of murders and yet a massive lack of available manpower. Fortunately a redshirt deputy is available to be killed when the decision is made to assault the cabin without backup. I suspect they'll kill off the other redshirt deputy next week.

I've just started playing around with kmttg as an alternative to pyTivo and had a question about downloading a program where that program is split into multiple segments, e.g. if the Tivo restarts in the middle of the program. pyTivo handles this just fine due to its file naming conventions, but it appears as though kmttg will use the same file name for each segment and so it will either overwrite the first segment or not download the second...depending on the "overwrite" parameter. Is there an easy solution for getting around this?
So kindergarten teachers aren't worth anything? I find that offensive. Teachers are some of the best, most dedicated, influential people in our society. Their value is far higher than anything that an art critic contributes to society. 'Thank you' to all the teachers out there. Shame on the writers for this horrible, horrible episode.

is that steering wheel something that is an entire unit or something that you slip on like a cover? cause no way is someone gonna spend the money to swap out a steering wheel from a car sitting in their driveway. i sure know i wouldnt try such a thing!
i think it was in the editing but there's no way kev is stupid but the way he focused on the 50 dollar shipping muffins was pointless. the woman said a huge portion of her sales were local. plus you arent OUT the shipping as a cost unless someone actually calls for shipping. so i think that was overblown. i also didnt hear anyone asking if this was patented or if someone could copy it
the sushi thing looked interesting but it seemed like they were doing ok so i really dont get why they needed money, i must be forgetting something. it reminded me of a subway sandwich shop..building your own
the shrink thing was laughable...makes me want to hang a shingle out on my website and do that. plus her pricing strategy seemed a tad complicated. plus her not knowing the basic numbers makes me wonder how she makes any money.

Hi, I'm having a problem with one of my two Series2 Tivos. I've had it hooked up to Dish Network for years now, no problems. A few months ago, it said it wasn't receiving the satellite signal, so I plugged the Tivo in to another Dish receiver elsewhere in the house, it received the signal fine, so I plugged it back into the original receiver, and it was working again so I figured something just got jostled.
Every once in a while since then, the same thing happens. The signal stops being passed through, or at least that's what the Tivo claims, then I restart the Tivo and it works again. Well, it happened again tonight, but despite repeatedly rebooting the Tivo, the problem hasn't been resolved, I still get a black screen and the "searching for signal" error message. I've connected the satellite directly to the TV to confirm that the signal is in fact being sent through correctly from the satellite receiver, and I even replaced the cables connecting the Dish receiver and the Tivo just in case there was a problem there. No change.
(As an aside, the curious thing is that it "failed" during a recording, yet apparently despite the fact that the Tivo claims the signal was not coming through, it continued to record part of the program I had been recording, and even recorded several minutes of the next program which was scheduled to start immediately after the first. My rebooting of the Tivo interrupted those recordings, but since I haven't been able to replicate it recording the program even when it claimed it wasn't receiving the signal.)
I've checked the Tivo.com troubleshooting section for this problem on Series2 receivers, done everything they've suggested, the video input source is still listed correctly, I ran the troubleshooting function from the Tivo, I changed channels to see if it was affecting all or just some channels (all), and rebooted the Tivo, all to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions what I should do next? Should I redo guided setup to see if that helps? I just changed the HD about a year ago, so I'm hoping that's not the problem -- I upgraded to a larger drive sold by the fellow on eBay that folks here recommended. Think I'll have to buy a new part? (I've replaced hard drives on both Tivos, one fan, and one power supply over the years, so I can probably manage basic repairs)
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
