Hmmmm, not too satisfied with that. Ellen went way too far over the line (getting Rutger assassinated, throwing Chris's buddy under the bus...and how did she not see that dilemma coming when she sent Chris to McLaren in the first place?), and then...just came back? I don't think they really set her up to be willing to go that far this season, and I don't think getting over those kinds of decisions are something that should come that easily.
And the fake-out with her lying on the alley ground...given the show's history of fake-outs in the flash-forwards there was nothing surprising about it, and it seemed even more contrived than in the past.
It ended up being a kind of typical season (after the first, when all this stuff was fresh), and I would like to have seen something a little...more.
Oh, well, it was a very good show that settled into being an OK show, which is more than most shows manage for this long.
this may seem a bit odd to most, but I have a failed tivo drive for tivo series 3 TCD648250B - can I pop in a working drive from a TCD652160 ??
looking for a .tbk image for a TCD648250B that has gone south, any help would be appreciated.
I am converting video files to MP4 for playback on Streambaby.
It works fine but have been noticing I can't hear the spoken dialogue and am turning up/down volume during the entire video.
I have Left-Right-Center speakers in my AV receiver(Sony 3500ES) but am noticing no sound of center channel. I am not using surround sound on receiver but the multi-channel stero where sound comes out of all 3 speakers.
When coverting the file to MP4, is there a way to add convert the file so sound will come through center channel?
I am using Handbrack and also have Aimersoft Video Converter.
I need help with the correct audio settings to get sound through center channel.
Please help. Thank you.
Ok I have an odd problem.
I'm missing show information in the guide on certain channels. It's not all shows on that channel, just certain shows.
For example.. (an actual example)
WCVBDT (Ch 805) - Weekday
7AM - Good Morning America
8AM - Good Morning America
9AM - Live! With Kelly
10AM - The Nate Berkus Show
11AM - <No Title> <No Description>
12PM - NewsCenter 5 at Noon
1PM - The Chew
That 11AM show is "The View"
I can search for "The View" and see it. But when I try to set a Season Pass, it never gives me the confirmation screen, it just bumps me back to the show info page.
This happens on both ch 805 (WCVBDT) and ch 5 (WCVB - Analog). And depending on how many times i try, my Tivo might freeze for a few minutes and/or spontaneously restart.
Now I just setup a manual recording (which is annoying because it doesn't show any info.. which I miss).
But now I am starting to notice it's doing it with other shows on other channels. For example I went to setup a season pass at for CSI on USAHD (835). It does the same thing.
The more I scroll through the guide the more blank place holders I see.
I don't think its Comcast, as I can record just fine off the channel (either as a manual recording OR a show that does have proper program data)
Any suggestions or comments? Its really annoying because I can't record certian shows.. CSI on USA being one since the time varies from day to day when it's on, so a manual record won't work. I've re-run guided setup and cleared all my settings a few times but does not work. I'm getting frustrated....
EDIT: On the USA Example, it ONLY happens on 835 USAHD, but not 035 USASD.
From the Nintendo website. Nintendo TVii is part of the new console's (Wii U) GamePad functionality.
"Nintendo TVii enables you to find, watch, and engage with TV shows, movies and sports programming, all from the Wii U GamePad. You can search for programs across Wii U Video Entertainment, TV channels and your own TiVo DVR"
Hi. I need some advice please.
We are renting an apartment for a few months as a transition home. We have basic Time Warner as part of the apartment pkg and no land line phone. My wife and I would like ot have some form of DVR for the few months we are here. When we get to the new place we are getting AT&T UVerse with their DVR. We are ok with non-HD and only one TV having it recorded.
Does it make sense to but a Series 1 or 2 TiVO on EBay and connect it to the existing cable box?
Do I need a land line phone to do this?
Thanks a lot for the advice.
Apparently the new Wii U is going to have some built in support for TiVo.
The press conference is going on live now, but I wonder if this means we will be able to use it as an extender.
It also integrates with TiVo DVRs. Upon clicking a channel listing on the GamePad, users can also watch it directly through their televisions. The GamePad acts as the center of the entire Nintendo TVii featureset. Users can choose a show, decide to favorite it, record it on the TiVo, share the listing with friends, and others.
I was wondering, out of all the new TiVOs being sold today, are any of them "faster" than the other?
I do not need more than 2 Tuners, so the standard Premiere seems to fit the bill. However, does the new Premiere 4 have a faster CPU or anything else other than 2 extra tuners to make it more desirable?
I'm a Time Warner customer, I am absolutely fed up with this ancient 8300 HD DVR and want to upgrade. Time Warner says "sorry, we can't afford new boxes" so I am now looking to alternatives.
If I put a CableCARD in a TiVO, will I get a superior UI and performance to my lousy Time Warner DVR? I do not care about Nextflix, Amazon, or any of that other BS - that's what my laptop is for. I need ESPN, CNN, Bravo, etc and I am not going to get those OTA.
My options are either stick with Time Warner and get a TiVO or go to U-Verse since their DVR's seem much better than Time Warners.
I would welcome any advice. Is the Premiere UI really that great?

Bought a new XL4 and haven't been able to get RedZone channels (SD & HD) working on it. My old Series 3 cablecards receive RedZone and I have already tried swapping them into the XL4 without success.
Verizon sent me a new cablecard and same situation. I do receive HBO on that card without problems once I have them pair the card. But I can't seem to get RedZone working on it.
Doesn't make sense that it would be a hardware problem because it receives HBO. Fios support is awful like all other cable companies. Very frustrating hold times and general stupidity in the people I am talking to.
Anybody have any ideas of why this is happening? I had the HBO problems a few weeks ago on the S3, but was fixed once they manually input the Data ID I gave them.
Got my Stream today. Hooked it into my network, then went about updating the software from an iPad.
Looped, looped some more, continued looping, and finally finished.
Here's where it gets weird. Every time I have added an additional iDevice (phone, pad, touch) the wireless router goes offline. Can't maintain a connection on my PC to it. Reboot the router and everything is fine, including iDevices.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?
Donald Glover is developing a pilot (soon to be a put pilot) for NBC. This isn't a very good sign for Community. I realize we are guaranteed a 4th season but NBC isn't giving me any confidence we will ever see a 6th.
For the second time, I turned on my TiVo Premiere (after upgrading it with a 2TB HD), only to get a mostly black screen except for the Live TV inset in the upper right corner. No listing of my shows, etc., couldn't get the grid to come up. The only fix was to unplug it and plug it back in. Is this a problem with the HD version of the startup screen, and would switching to the SD screen help?
Just as a warning, if you are sensitive to fan noise you may have issues with the Stream. I can hear it from across the room both when it's active (higher fan noise) and even when it's quieter.
While it's not loud, it's easily the noisiest component near my TV -- louder than the Elite, Cisco tuning adapter, Airport Express router, etc.
I might think about either returning it or leaving it unplugged except when I need it (not ideal).
Don't click on the link below if you haven't seen the third season finale.
There's never much action here on TCF for "The Glades" but I've always liked it. It's been renewed for another season
So has anyone been able to create their own DVR Expander using the correct drive in the Tivo Premier and a 3rd part esata case?
On a forum, I know that people with duds will post while success stories are rare, but there seems to be an unusual amount of DOA TiVo Streams here.
I'd be curious for the actual numbers, but I can only poll the people here.
Did your TiVo Stream work right from the moment it was plugged in?
