Hello TiVo experts. I looked all over the internet and could not find my exact situation so here goes. Currently I have Comcast and the eat all my $$ package. I figured hey, to save money I will get TiVo and be done with it. I learned that there is a bit more to this. I will tell you what I want and will then tell you what I have and hopefully you all can fill in the blanks.
My ideal setup is to have an HDTV antennae for local channels and economy cable for my kids (disney).
I purchased the TiVo premiere box for the dual tuners and antennae capability. What is really confusing me is
- Will the xfinity dc50xu work with my TiVo box?
- Will I still need a cable card or mcard?
I really feel that I am close but I cannot get my mind over this hump. any help would be appreciated.
Frank is crazy!
Zach is HOT!
Wes is gone!
I just posted this in another thread suggested by the site, but it turned out to be for some cable system specific TiVo box in the UK. So, I'm reposting here, where someone might actually look at it...
I recently noticed that ALL audio output on one of my XL's was PCM 2.0. I thought that was strange and played the game that I first noticed the problem in (NBC Sunday Night Football) back on another XL (via my home network connection) and it was indeed DD5.1! A reboot solved the problem, but I wondered what had caused it in the first place. I'm sure that it's some sort of software bug! I have an idea of what it might be, but haven't tested my theory yet. I had been watching huluplus the night before and noticed that the shows were only 2.0. I wondered if the TiVo had become "stuck" in PCM 2.0 mode somehow while I was watching and never came out of it when I exited hulu! I'll report back when (or if!) I ever get around to testing my theory!
I'm sorry if some consider this thread off topic, but this was the best place I could think of to get this question answered.
When I look at the descriptions of the two Leverage episodes my TiVo recorded this Sunday to close out its summer season, it appears as if TNT ran episode 10 BEFORE episode 9. To people who have watched both of these, does this order make any difference, i.e., is there anything in episode 10 that requires knowledge of episode 9? I can't tell, but both show descriptions mention Washington.
Tivo HD OEM.
When programs are "selected" as returned by a title search, the TIVO bonks (remote receive led blinks) as if an illegal command is entered and nothing happens. The record/season pass menu does not appear. Reboot does not affect situation. Removal of several Season Pass titles makes no diff (is there a limit?) in fail operation.
I'm moving at the end of October and was planning to get a Premiere XL4 at that time (I currently have a S3 and an HD, which I'll be keeping). For the next few days TiVo is running a sale, and pricing the Premiere Elite at $350. They're also throwing in an 802.11g adapter, which I don't need, but I could sell it.
Is there any reason not to buy the Elite (instead of the XL4) a month early and save $50? My understanding is that it's the same hardware, under different names.
Anyone else watching? I absolutely love this show!
Julia and Joel were really annoying me with how they were walking on eggshells around their son but they finally pulled it together. The last scene was great, where Julia thought she'd screwed up again, but no, she finally got it right.
I about died when Amber started singing funkytown.
I continue to be frustrated with how much they put up with from max, but I have no experience dealing with an autistic kid. I'd love to know whether they're doing it right.
Not looking forward to the breast cancer plot line.

I currently have two TiVo HDs with lifetime. About 10 months ago I bought a used Tivo Premiere that qualified for $9.95 monthly.
I don't need three TiVo's so I contacted TiVo to cancel the Premiere. They talked me into keeping it activated until December 13.
I'm thinking of selling it. It looks like on eBay used Premieres only go for around $75.00. I was wondering if this one would be worth more because I was told who ever owns it next will get the $9.95 monthly if they activate it before 12/13.
Hi we are selling my Tivo HD with Lifetime, Wireless G and a new remote which I bought, but did not return to Amazon in time.
Recently upgraded to Tivo Premier XL for on demand (which i have used only 3 times...)
Is anyone watching?
I enjoyed the premiere, although it was definitely a wrap up the cliffhanger and set up the season story. I kept hoping they wouldn't drag out the Bones on the run stuff past the premiere and I was very happy they didn't. I still think Max is going to kill Pelant. What's the deal with the other FBI guy? Are we supposed to think he's in on it with Pelant?
The actor playing Pelant has done a great job - that guy is seriously creepy.
I still don't think Booth & Brennan have any chemistry. They had great chemistry before they were a couple, but their kisses don't seem to work.
From my PC to the TiVoHD. Got the "This will be added to the queue and transferred when the current transfer is complete" I have nothing being transferred. Rebooted the TiVo and restarted TiVo desk top (yes I have TiVo Desktop Plus) with the same results. Next step I was going to try is reinstalling TiVo Desktop. Any help would be cool.
Series 2, single tuner. No picture or sound at all. Used Maxblast to check HDD, passed all.
Front lights are as follows:
left--Green top,Yellow bottom.
right--Red top, yellow bottom.
I currently have a premiere xl wi 2 tuners. In the past I have missed recording new episodes of shows due to 3 shows needin to be taped concurrently. I think a nice addition to the season pass would be a toggle that if chosen would send a message to the Tivo box that warned a new episode would not be recorded and why.
I like watching Happy Camp show, and there are many people like who around me, It's a good Variety show，Not only be able to see stars who is your favorite, but also they are playing all kinds of games, suah as math games for kids, and so on. in the program,it is really interesting! How about you, share it with us.
TIVOHD XL recently replaced with WD20EURS 2TB
Something peculiar I've noticed after I've replaced my hard drive because I know the former drive (wd20eads) did not do this. Every-time I go to the Tivo Menu or go back to live tv, the screen will black out momentarily because the HDMI input is reelecting itself again.
This was not happening before. It's bugging me. Does this have anything to do with hard drive model? Does this happen to anybody else? Should it be a concern? Can I get rid of it?
Haven't found this discussed anywhere, perhaps somebody knows the answer.
A friend recommended the Side By Side video documentary hosted by Keanu Reeves from Amazon. It is a documentary about the transition in the movie industry from film to digital. He watched it on a source other than Tivo. The Amazon website for the show says it is available in HD for Tivo. However, when I search the Amazon VOD menus on myTivo, all I find is the promo video Side by Side Extra and not the full movie.
I can't find the actual film for rent on Amazon using my Tivo.
Has anybody had any success renting this from Amazon?
After 10 years we decided it was time to move on from our old tivo r10s. In my stupidity i didnt write down all of our season passes before disconnecting directv yesterday. Now when trying to access it, i cant go into the menu and it tells me "no program data acquired from satellite, please check your satellite dish setup."
Does anyone know of a workaround so i can look at them and write them down?
Thanks for any help you can give.
I knew Dan couldn't win...
I still think he SHOULD have won.
And Frank was America's Choice?!?!?!? Yowzer...
Danielle is going to need some serious therapy when she gets home...
I think it's rare for a tribe to vote off its weakest link (Zane) instead of its most annoying member (Russell). Good for them.
But bad for Zane; he over-allianced, over-shared, over-thought it, and did himself in.
I think Malcolm has a good chance.
And since when does Miss Teen Utah get breast implants?
