Well that was just an awesome hour of television.
I loved how each group only knew half of what the other was doing.
I think it was a major error for him to not go home to his kids, keeping up normal appearances is never more important than around the time of major operations.
Oh, hey, you blew your chance to catch a spy on American soil, too bad, oh yeah, we have a sick aunt, can you watch the kids?
Anyone care to venture what they are saying at the end of the show?
At the very least I get that the daughter thinks something is going on, but what was that odd stare she had at the end? Was she supposed to be looking at something on the other side of the room?
I was more worried she would see scratches on the floor from the mom moving the washer or dryer to get to the secret hole in the wall.

Anyone watching? I thought an all-season (or limited season) thread since no thread yet...
I LOVE Andrea-mentioning her roomie's herpes med cracked me up! :p I hope she does move back in. She can be "Mr J's" assistant again, and they can get rid of that perky blond-I don't care for her one bit.
So Dr Perfect has colon cancer-interesting! Maybe Cathy can teach him to be more compassionate. That will be a cool subplot.
As always, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Sean-he and Cathy bouncing in the bouncy castle was so sweet. And ever the annoying brother, he was laughing at her incontinence. But it wouldn't be "him" if he didn't. Deep down, Cathy knows it was with love. :o The sight of them riding that scooter in the mall! LOLZ! :D :D
I did tear up at the last scene with Cathy and Adam. Setting off the fireworks, her telling him/asking him if it was OK to give up chemo...Laura Linney is such a great actress. And the kid who plays her son is good too.
Well-anyone else watching???
I have an old TiVo Pioneer 810, that still works but now that I got rid of all my Comcast boxes, I won't be able to use it, or will I? Now using HD TiVo's with cable cards.
Is there such a box you can BUY to convert my digital to my old TiVo?
I kind of, sort of understand MOCA. But not really. :)
How exactly does this work with Tivo?
Can I use the regular ole, existing cable jacks in my house to push information back and forth as a replacement for a traditional wifi network or to replace a hard wired ethernet network?
Does MOCA allow me to stream content between tivos in different rooms?
Do I need MOCA adapters in each room?
I like to try new things and if this could benefit me, then I would like to give it a shot.
Sometime in April E-Bay fees for electronics (TiVos) went up to 10% of the selling price, they were about 5% to 6% before. this fee is also put on the shipping cost if shipping is not free, so with the PayPal fees of 2.9% the casual E-Bay seller is paying almost 13% on the selling price inc shipping. That a bummer IMHO.
Top sellers can get about 20% off the fees
Guys I just looked over the video for this item and it looks very tightly put together and for far less than a TiVo, matter of fact it's pricing model resembles that of a Roku. Also since Tivo and all internet appliances use the Google .api code the Youtube player is nearly identical.
I have a Tivo premiere with a lifetime subscription on it. I am going to be shutting down my home internet service for a while.
So my question is this...... If I connect my computer directly to the Tivo with an ethernet cable, will kmttg allow me to transfer shows directly?
I bought The Batman Season 1 on amazon instant video and downloaded the season to my tivo. It's a 16:9 show but SD as its older. I was surprised to see the show displayed with black bars all around. I couldn't use any of the TiVo aspect ratio controls to fix this.
Is this normal?
I bought and downloaded an HD show and it filled my screen properly. Can anyone confirm the frame rate and audio (channels and quality) of newer HD shows when downloaded to the TiVo through amazon?
I decided I wanted to write my own transfer programs in C++ to transfer files from the TiVo to my PC and from the PC back to the TiVo.
Transferring from the TiVo to the PC is pretty straightforward.
1. Listen for Beacons to find the tivo servers.
2. Visit the /TiVoConnect?Command=QueryContainer&Container=/ url to get a list of containers.
3. Using the TiVo MAK for http authentication, Parse the appropriate containers.
4. select and transfer a file from the URL in the container, store it as a .TiVo file.
5. optionally use tivodecode and the MAK to convert the .tivo file to a .mpg file.
6. optionally use ffmpeg to convert/transcode the .mpg to a different container format.
I'm having a problem letting the TiVo pull files back from the PC.
I broadcast beacons.
The Tivo connects and gets the "/" container.
I can browse the container under the "/" from my tivo.
I can transfer .tivo files back tot he tivo just fine. (just sending the file via http)
I am using the latest version of ffmpeg for container muxing.
I can transfer files that I'm not transcoding just fine. eg "-vcodec copy -acodec copy"
My problem happens on any file that ffmpeg is transcoding. The tivo resets the TCP connection anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes into the transfer.
I've compared ffmpeg command lines with what pyTiVo is using, and gone so far as to exactly duplicate the command, but I'm still getting the issue.
because the transfer is happening fast than realtime, the video is failing anywhere between 5 and 15 minutes in. On the same video, it does not happen at the same frame in multiple tests.
Can anyone tell me why the tcp connection is getting reset?
Can someone here help me record a show tonight? My TiVo is down and I need to get this show into my computer.
It's a show called I Want That on the DIY channel

I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks
I was totally shocked that the latest DirecTV has 5 tuners is so smoking fast! The search features and the size of the hard drive were actually pretty impressive as well.
Can someone explain to me, in layman's terms, why their DVR is so fast and TiVo's Premiere continues to be so slow? Their menus all seemed to be Hi-Def as well.
someone reply to this test.
Anybody watch it? I really liked it.
I didn't see the Karate Kid twist at the end coming.
Hope the rest of the episodes are this good.
So my S3 is on the fritz. I have lifetime on it and don't have the $$ for a new tivo. I run farifax va fios with cable cards.
I have 2 kids and this the primary tv distribution product so I need to fix it.
Problems escalated last night.
I had audio dropouts on recorded shows and live shows.
Then I let it sit for a while and didn't touch it.
Then it worked for a few hours later that evening.
Then this morning, almost total non responsive to the remote.
There were no shows listed in the saved list.
I had guide problems and interface problems where I haven't been able to change channels or select a recorded show.
I finally got on a cartoon network but I couldn't do much else.
I think I have narrowed the list down to. I'm not very handy.
a. hard drive issue
b. power supply
d. verizon line trouble
e. cable card
f. coax into box from street
g. external hard drive (western digital 500gb hooked up thru esata)
I understand that e-g are the least likely reasons for the trouble but are the easiest to test.
I'm less concerned about shows that I might lose that I have already recorded.
1. My first question is if I disconnect the external hard drive, will the tivo work? (IF that were the problem)
2. If I bought a tivo series 3 on craigslist for $50, could I just use it for parts like power supply, capatictors to repair my nonfunctioning tivo series 3.
Thank you in advance,
i swear there's something out in the ocean right now using the energy of the waves to power stuff?
i wonder if he asked for less money if they would have given it to them.
i'm amazed mr wonderful wouldnt support a hometown girl. if he's from there why doesnt he have the funny accent too?
they really jumped at the bobber and i would have loved to hear lori's offer. i do hate when the other guys say answer in X seconds and stuff like that. but people have pulled their offers before so you really do have to act now
the belt seems neat but isnt that a bit noisy? i'm sure it doesnt matter unless you are getting dressed in a quiet room though.
The internet offers varied edges to assist United States of America and one among it's by viewing movies. Now, we have a tendency to might watch movies on-line for gratis while not the hassle of reaching to the house. you've the point of looking your most popular motion-picture show and saving money on video tickets. an extra advantage is you'll watch presently disclosed movies within the comfort of your property. If you're used on pocket money on rental Dvds that bills you around $10 for long use, viewing movies reception is a few variety of certain technique to DVDs.
My mind is blown on this photo of the behind the scenes shooting The Dick Van Dyke Show!

- They filmed with three cameras before a live audience.
- They filmed in Hollywood - not New York.
- Those were all stage sets. They looked so real!
It looks like Jerry Paris is in costume to be Dr. Jerry Helpern.
You can see that this set is on the left of the stage. I'll bet the living room is in the center and the kitchen is on the right. Maybe with the Alan Brady Show writers office in there somewhere.
Our new build wiring consists of 1 Coax & 1 Cat6 to each location.
We really design it with a strict budget & the promise from TiVo or others of a whole house DVR/Independent TV watching strategy in mind.
So, we first thing is that we want to be able to send 2 signals from the P4XL to 2 secondary rooms.
1) Can the Mini's receive & pass along to TV - HiDef 1080i/1080p video via the coax or Cat6? If so, which is the prefer method?
2) Do I need an HDMI in there somewhere?
3) If I want to control remotely & put the Mini's & P4XL into a central closet, is it better to do RF or IR remotes?
4) Can the remote signal transmitted via the same coax or Cat6 above?
Appreciate any feedback!
No tuning adapter. Two TivoHDs and a TV with cable cards from Comcast. 3 HD channels WGNHD, MASNHD, AND MASN2HD will come in and then go out - Tivo then says no signal. Then the channels will come back - sometime in minutes sometimes hours.
Comcast has replaced the cable cards in all three - waste of time, since they all showed the same channels dropping.
Now a supervisor is telling me that it is a frequency problem at the headend, and it is affecting a number of Alexandria, VA viewers. But, they are working on it. I doubt this since these channels all carry baseballs games, and if folks could not get the Nationals or Cubs, there would be some chatter.
Today another channel dropped ESPNNEWSHD and came back and dropped again.
This has been going on for a month or more.
Anyone else experiencing problems like this??
