At first I couldn't figure out why they were even taking a van, but then I realized it was to take the body.
Hi guys, I get this error quite a lot and it can be a pain to start the download again. Has anyone else experienced this?
Also, I'm not clear if downloads continue to run in the background while the iPhone is either locked or if I switch to a different app or just the home screen. It seems to me that the download stops when either of these things occur. Anyway to fix this?
I just bought a new Tivo Premiere XL4 to replace my old TiVo HD XL.
I have a bunch of recordings on my old machine that I would like to copy or transfer to the new one.
Apparently my cable provider (Time Warner) copy protects recordings.
How can I do it?

I have a series 3 Tivo and the OLED Display does not work and the LEDs also appear to have problems. Here is a rundown of the situation:
All four LEDS (2 red, 1 blue, 1 orange) do light up
Nothing shows in the "OLED Display" - it is blank/black
Nothing shows in the "OLED Display" - it is blank/black even though the menu is set to have the clock on
During Scheduled Recordings:
None of the LEDS light up, even though red ones should depending on
Nothing shows in the "OLED Display" - it is blank/black even though the menu is set to have the display on
Using remote control:
None of the LEDS light up, even though orange one should flash when remote control buttons are pressed
Other than that the unit appears to be working properly. Any thoughts or ideas? Is this just a faceplate that needs replacing or is it possibly more (i.e. power supply, etc.) One concern is that the LEDs obviously can work since they light up at restart, but they do not light up when they should for the various operations. And obviously something is very wrong with the OLED display that should be giving the clock and the title of what's being recorded during scheduled recordings.

I want to record a show that has already ended, but is still in the live buffer, how can I do this?
For example: I am 10 minutes into the current show. I can rewind 20 minutes, and watch 20 minutes of the previous show. I want to record those 20 minutes to disk. I press the RECORD button, but I get the "season pass and other options' or the 'explore this show" screen.
Is there any way to record those 20 minutes of the previous show?
Hi all. I'm a long-time Tivo owner. I just lost my original Tivo box to the green screen of death so I just replaced it w/a Premier 4. I have everything set up correctly and just got the box activated.
Now the Comcast card won't pair. The first time the tried pairing it, the Tivo box activation had not gone thru yet and it did not pair. Would the box not being activated screw up the card pairing?
Comcast tried two more times after the box was showing as being in good standing and still nothing. Comcast shows the box and card as paired on their end and now have to send someone out to figure out what's happening. It's almost as if the box isn't getting any cable signal. Is there a way to check to see if the box is defective somehow? I know the cable is working as I was watching TV on it before adding the new box.
I've got a TiVo Premiere with cable through Comcast. For the most part I don't have any issues with my TiVo and love it. The problem I have is with Comcast, they just provide horrible customer service and have truly gotten very expensive for what they're offerring.
So I would like to at least look at what my options are for other service providers, however I would like to be able to keep a provider that is able to supply a cable card so I don't need to have a secondary box besides the TiVo. I know most cable companies should likely have cable cards, and from a quick search on the forums it looks like Verizon FIOS is able to supply cable cards, but what about UVerse or any other providers out there?
Since I'm unable to get FIOS in my area and haven't heard that Uverse supports cable cards, I'm probably stuck with Comcast, but thought I'd at least investigate what my options are.
Any input is welcomed.
My the hard drive in my Series2 80hr Lifetime box seems to have given up the ghost (stuck on "powering up"). I have an old, out of service 80hr S2 that I'd like to scavenge the working drive from. Can I just swap them (found simple instructions here
)? I don't care about old Season Passes or recordings. Anything special I'll need to do after the physical swap?
I'm surprised there's not a thread on this yet. Seems like they are slowly moving the backstory along towards some sort of conclusion, even if it is just the season finale.
I was not impressed with the whole Emily/Rachel thing...err, I mean Victoria/Robin. Sorry, got confused by the EXACT same story line from Friends back around 2001. I just about turned off the episode then and there. I can understand the desire to drag the story out as long as possible for advertising revenue and such, but when you are stealing storylines from past sitcoms, it's blatantly obvious that they need new writers.
Also not a fan of Marshall turning into a girl. Dude needs to man up.
I got the Premiere a few months back when tivo was selling them for $50. How do i resume "Play all in this group" if I go back to a menu.
PLEASE Fix Descriptive Audio issues. This is now a deal killer for Tivo. In my experience thus far, for those (cannot be identified in advance) shows which have "Descriptive Audio" capability, multi-room is dead with Tivo. Any transfered shows cannot be viewed IMHO, as the audio is so distracting that I have never been able to use any of the transfered content. I'm told by Tivo support that there is not any current effort being made toward this, and that this is a result of "merging" audio on Tivos part. MRV is one of the most key and critical functions of the Tivo for me. Without reliable MRV that is not degraded by the inability to not hear this distracting "descriptive audio", Tivo is not a solution for me at least. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix this! ASAP! Descriptive audio has been known and coming for years. Tivo should have been on top of this. That's what we pay for.
background setup specs:
pyTivo running on a Windows7 box, AMD 8120FX (8 core) cpu, 8gb ram.
100mb wired lan
so my previous experience with pytivo was only transferring to the TivoHD (premiere is brand new). Basically, regardless of how fast my pc was (i upgraded it recently), my transfer/encoding/decoding/whatever is the proper term to the TivoHD was not that fast. For a 720p show/movie, it would go just a tad faster than viewing speed, so i could wait a minute and start watching, and it woud keep ahead of me. However, on a 1080p show, it would take at least twice as long as the show was, so i'd have wait to start watching the show until about 3/4 of it had transferred so i wouldn't catch up to it. If i recall correctly, i read somewhere that after a certain limit, the bottleneck was the Tivo.
Well, i just got my premiere up and running, and started some transfers last night. let them run over night because this was what i had lined up:
8.5gb 1080p ~2hr movie
5.5gb 720p ~2hr movie
1.8gb 720p ~45min show
I started them sometime around or after 8pm and queued them up (honestly, i can't remember for sure, i didn't pay attention), watched a little tv until 9, then went to bed. So based on my experience on my TivoHD, i was expecting it to run well into the morning. It would've taken at least 6 hours if not more.
Well, this morning i went to my PC and saw that pytivo was done at what i interpreted as 10:30 last night. Seriously? it only took 2.5 hours to do all that?
is that about right from what people have seen? i'm going to need to do more samples. i had previously rarely dealt with 1080p files because of the slowness, but now, that's no longer an obstacle it seems.
I noticed that some of the shows recorded were cutting off early, so I added a +1 minute option as a default. While I have not had a chance to check on this, I am wondering if that would cause a conflict in overlapping recordings. Our Premiere can only record two shows at a time. So if there were back to back two show recordings scheduled, how does Tivo handle the overlap? Does it shorten a recording or cancel it if there is a back to back conflict?
I am getting a replacement Premiere XL 4 due to my MOCA and "S02" issues. TIVO is sending me the box first, I left a deposit, and they are going to automatically switch my lifetime to the new box.
Yesterday they shipped out the replacement. This caused my present box with all my recordings and season passes to be deactivated, and the box in transit has been activated with the lifetime from my defective premiere.
I was hoping when the new box arrives that I could transfer the recordings and season passes. Since it is deactivated I am not sure I can do this. Does anyone know how to do this and if it is even possible?
I haven't found a particular pattern to this, but I've noticed at least 3 incomplete recordings since receiving the fall update. They don't seem to be associated with a reboot. Anyone else?
