I have an HP LX195 running WHS. I believe I am running pytivo because I see the option of transferring my content from the server to my Premiere under My videos.
Is there a way to issue a command from my computer which would send my content from HPLX195 to my Premiere.
At the moment, I can only figure out how to do this from the Premiere itself.
Please let me know. Thank you.
So, how exactly how/when/where did they make the switch while transferring Joe? That was a shocker, huh?
Wasn't Kevin watching as they loaded him into the transport truck, and then, FBI-Lady followed as they drove out of the facility, with chopper overhead? What did I miss?
I saw that the warden swapped/edited the surveillance video, but what was the timing?
Seeing the cult of followers at the mansion was odd and creepy for me.
I think I am about ready to JUMP OFF this train. While I like each of the actors, the story is just too far fetched. The for-effect loud/screeching SFX at the "scary" parts are cheap and insulting.
Falling off the fence.
I cant get access to Winmfs site,I cant find where to register can i find the software any where else ?
I've searched and read through many similar topics; but mine seems unique. My Series 3 THX(OLED) Tivo recently started misbehaving. Playback on recent recordings would stutter/freeze - If I skip forward I could resume playback, and even skip back to near the original freeze point and catch what I missed. Sounds like a typical HD issue so far. However, just today I found the unit in a reboot loop where it will boot fully and work for about two-three minutes(not including boot time) and then reboot. It doesn't matter what I do for those few minutes; watch live TV, playback, stare at the TiVo Central screen, etc... Still seems like the typical HD issue. Next I set the Kickstart 57 code to see if the file system could be repaired. You're supposed to get the green screen with the "serious issue" notice for about three hours while it attempts to repair the file system or whatnot. Here's the deal - even in this mode, it only stays "up" for about two to three minutes and then reboots! And, now that I used KS 57 to "mark" or flag the file system as needing repair, due to the fact that it never gets a chance to finish before rebooting, it now is in a continuous loop of booting to the recovery mode, which it will never successfully complete! I can't force any other kickstart modes to work either. It wants to finish trying to fix the file system instead, so there's no trying KS 54 or even KS 52. However, I'm suspecting the issue lies somewhere other than the HD since even the recovery mode reboots after a few minutes. I haven't timed it yet, but it seems to be constant and consistent in duration. I opened the unit up and the fan appears to be working fine. I don't see any obvious power supply capacitor bulging or any obvious sign of electrolyte leakage either. I just got a new Premiere XL recently so I'm not attached to the old one, but there are a bunch of shows I'd like to get off of the unit, and If this is fixable, It would be nice to be able to resell. If the answer is new Hard drive, I'll just sell it for parts as I'd lose the shows anyway and the unit is not lifetime. However if anyone has some hints I can try I'd give them a shot. I've already disconnected the CableCard, Coax, and Enet. I really just want to be able to bring this back to life long enough to get a few more key recordings off of it. Thanks in advance for any help!
I am trying to use the kickstart 52 on an Series 2 (TiVo TCD649080
). All of the other kickstarts work as described except this one. I get the "Almost There..." screen but not the "Installing a service update" or "TiVo is installing new software from the TiVo service" screen.
I've tried it several times and now the red LED on the right is staying amber even on Tivo Central.
I finally purchased a Steam so I could stream recordings to my iPad (and download them for road trips).
I have a MoCA network set up. I can't figure out why it takes 15-20 minutes to transfer a program on my own network when I can download the same show from iTunes in only 10 minutes?
My network is much faster than my cable modem. Does the Stream impose limits on transfer speeds? I'm sure there is a reason why transfers are so slow.
i have a tivo slide that operates my cambridge sonata AR-30...just vol up and down, mute and power. those keys were individually "learned" to the slide....worked great.
i have since broken the slide and replaced it with another and even though the new one seems to be learning correctly (4 blinks), i get nothing.
also, tried my glo remote, no luck.
any thoughts why this worked previously, but now doesn't.
There is a good chance a lot of people will want to use their Mini's MoCA connection rather than run an Ethernet connection, which is less likely to be present around the house.
Because a lot of people are new to MoCA, hopefully this quick 'n dirty info will help answer most questions off the bat. This isn't a complete A-to-Z MoCA FAQ; it just answers the most common questions that have come up.
If you are a FiOS TV customer, skip to the end.
Enabling MoCA in the Home
There are two ways you can set up a MoCA network to get your Mini and/or P4/XL4/Elite up and running.
1. The cheaper option is to connect your P4/XL4/Elite to your network via Ethernet. This will allow the box itself to function as a MoCA bridge and communicate with the Mini over MoCA. Then connect the Mini to coax and no further setup should be needed. (Using this method, your Mini is relying on your P4/XL4/Elite for its internet connection, so if your Tivo is offline for some reason, so is the Mini.)
2. If wiring your P4/XL4/Elite with Ethernet is not desirable, you can purchase a MoCA adapter ($50 from tivo.com, also available on Amazon, eBay, etc.) and connect it to your modem and router as shown below. This will enable MoCA and your P4/XL4/Elite and Mini(s) will all be able to communicate with the network without further setup.
It is recommended that you install a Point of Entry (POE) filter at your cable TV's point of entry in the home. This helps keep your MoCA signal strong and prevents your MoCA signal from exiting your home and potentially either allowing neighbors into your network or creating interference with neighbor's services. They're $9 on Tivo.com and can also be purchased cheaply elsewhere (eBay, etc). If you are a FiOS TV customer, a POE filter isn't necessary.
Setting up non-MoCA enabled Tivos for MoCA:
If you would like to connect an additional Tivo that is not MoCA-enabled (Premiere, Premiere XL, and the Series 3 and earlier DVRs) to the MoCA network, you can purchase a MoCA adapter and connect them to your Tivos in this fashion:
FiOS TV Customers:
Your home is already MoCA-enabled if your Verizon-supplied router is connected via coax. Your Premiere 4/XL4/Elite and Mini can simply be connected to the coax, and that's all that needs to be done under most conditions.
This is the recommended setup method to getting a MoCA network working for those that have a cableco-supplied Tuning Adapter. A splitter is needed for the MoCA signal to bypass the Tuning Adapter.
I am running late to a birthday party so I can update/fix/add more to this later. Lol. If there are ideas of things missed (but remember it's not a complete and total MoCA FAQ) then post them here.
This thread can serve as a "Fresh start" for people who have pre-ordered the TiVo Mini, who have a review or impressions to share about the TiVo Mini or want to discuss tips/tricks and user experiences.
I have a Series 3 Tivo. I have it upgraded with a 2TB HD If I buy a used Series 3 Tivo with lifetime service, can I just take the 2TB HD out of my Series 3 Tivo and put it in the new Series 3 Tivo? Would I then have a 2TB drive, all my current shows, and lifetime service on the new Series 3 Tivo?
Hi I have a question for you experts here.... If I buy a used tivo series 3,with a lifetime subscription.... and hook it up to my antenna, will I be able to view my local channel lineups? I am trying to understand if it will provide a user menu, similar to the boxes like I had from the sat. company....which enabled me to view the channels, and record on that basis.
Please, any info in any direction is appreciated! ( also trying to figure out how to view upcoming program info for my local OTA channels, will I be able to see those?
My XL4 missed recording Ripper Street on Saturday. For some reason, the first showing didn't record because it wasn't "Authorized" whatever that means, BBCA HD tunes in fine & nothing else was scheduled for that time. It then failed to record the reshowing at midnight because it was a duplicate.
Surely it should record a duplicate if it didn't record the original! it seems like a logic flaw to me
I am having a hard time getting into these teams this season. No one is really that exciting, although I do know that the Youtube hosts annoy me greatly, to steal Special Agent Shepherd's line.
I think something was lost in translation with the dad there... I believe that he maybe had a small tear in the muscle and tendon, but I still don't believe that if it was fully torn/ruptured that he would have been limping around the beach like he'd just twisted his ankle or something. I've seen people in other sports after they tear their Achilles... their foot is usually not working like it should. They can't flex/point/move it at all.
I was wondering if I could transfer a (larger) hard drive from my Tivo TCD24004A to a Tivo TCD24008A unit ?
Thanks in advance.
Wondering if anyone else has seen this - I was irritated to find some recordings got deleted yesterday to make room for a long HD recording I scheduled. The irritation was because prior to scheduling it, I checked and verified that there was well over enough space in my deleted recordings folder to accommodate the new show.
Well, trying to figure out why this happened, I looked in the folder and lo and behold there were hours of HD recordings there that had NOT been permanently deleted to make room. Instead TiVo deleted recordings in My Shows that I hadn't watched yet.
When I tried to permanently delete them manually, they refused to budge. I guess that's why the "live" recordings had to go.
I would have just chalked this up to "one of those odd TiVo things" (OTOTT), but then I realized the common denominator - all the shows that were stuck in Deleted Shows and couldn't be removed had been watched and deleted from my iPad! Streamed, not downloaded. Other shows that were chronologically between the stuck shows but had not been watched with the TiVo app got deleted automatically without a problem.
I could, BTW, recover the shows, or re-delete them, but couldn't permanently remove them. A reboot fixed it, but what gives? Thought someone should know about this, since I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere.
This was on an original Premiere.
Being a female spy is some nasty sex work! When the contact was whipping Elizabeth and she became a helpless, cowering, pleading victim, I was like "WTF, she could beat the crap out of this guy". Then I realized she was playing it that way because it was the smart thing to do. Very cool.
Nina rinsing her mouth out with the tea - excellent touch by the writers that really made me feel disgusted right along with her.
John Boy really screwed up an opportunity with the codes.
Haven't decided if I'm going to keep watching this. From the previews (at least the ones I saw) I did not realize it was going to be about the Russian Mob and drug smuggling. Those topics don't usually interest me. That husband sure was good looking and the actor who played him seemed to be a big enough star to be worth more than one episode. I'm sticking with it for at least one more week.
