Is it me. or are many of the threads lately about Cancellations?
Golden Boy and Las Vegas re the most painful for us. But it seems like there is so many threads. Should there just be an Official Cancellation Thread?
Dang, they just keep tightening everything in on itself. Everything certainly converged on Neverland.
I did laugh that after Emma and Regina extinguished the trigger and it fell to the floor, Regina bee-lined for it and scooped it up, pocketed it, and no one remembers that she has it. It's SOOOOOOO dangerous, but let's move the story along.
The ending reminded me of the original Star Trek series, where every major character would beam down on every away mission. Sure, Belle has a cloaking device for the town (why didn't Gold pull that out when the curse broke?), but it's all unprotected... I think the only one left that can do magic is the Blue Fairy. :)
Did the only talking Lost Boy imply at the end that HE is Peter Pan, or that the shadow is Peter Pan?
Was that Aurora, Philip, and Mulan that found Neal? That's "now", but isn't Philip wraith-sucked-dead? Hrmmmm, whatever. :) So although Neal would be more useful in Neverland, he ends up in the Forest. Who decides where portals go? I can't imagine Tamara "deciding" to send Neal back to the Forest, dead or not. Since the beans came from there, is that the default? :)
The "drawn" pictures of Baelfire's mother and Henry were top quality... I wonder where those came from? (besides some laser printer) The two pictures looked similar, but I think that's just a coincidence. But how would they know about Henry when Baelfire is just a boy... Henry wasn't even born yet. Let me guess: "the prophecy". But most prophecies are vague and confusing, and don't turn out laser-quality images. :)
I have the TiVo HD model, and Home Desktop Plus on my Windows 7 PC.
While my wife was out of town I tranferred several Tivo Recordings to the PC to prevent the TiVo from filling up & deleting shows. Now that she's returned we want to gradally transfer them back as she watches them, but the PC only sporadically appears in Now Playing. How do I make it appear consistently?
So my S2 and HD (i.e. S3) have been been linked to Amazon for years. The past maybe month or so though, my S2 keep redownloading the same two movie rentals from Amazon, Analyze That and My Super Ex Girlfriend.
I *think* I may actually have ordered those YEARS ago, like prior to 2008, and thankfully I don't seem to be getting charged for them, but at best they take up precious space, and waste multiple pointless GBs of downloads.
I keep killing the downloads or deleting them after they've finished (if I didn't catch them), but they keep recurring, like maybe every 1-7 days at least they'll try to redownload again.
Anyone have an idea what's going on? It (thankfully) only happens on my S2, not the S3...I'm almost at the point I may unlink the S2...
With this week's The Office finale being 75 minutes, they've got a 45 minute episode of Hannibal scheduled.
Do you suppose the repeat of that episode (if there is one) will be in a one hour time slot and contain some 'unseen' footage?
Just seemed strange to have a 45 minute episode of that program.
Hi all, new XL4 coming from a late 2008 TivoHD run. I never really bothered with PC to TivoHD connectivity (maybe it couldn't even really do it) but let me tell you what I am interested in, and you guys please tell me the easiest/best way to accomplish it.
I have a collection of mkv movies and simply don't understand the easiest way to use my networked TivoXL4 instead of my archaic current system which involves a cheapo viewsonic media player and a thumbdrive.
If possible, I do not want to transcode, re-encode, change this files, just want to view them via my network. pyTiVo, Tivo Desktop plus, streaming baby.. hmmm, Do they transcode? Do they need to transfer first? Anyway to just see them on my network drive and play them in original format?
I have an XL4 in the living room and am getting a new Premiere to replace the Series 3 in the bedroom. There is no internet cabling in the bedroom so I'm planning to use Moca to enable the connection.
I live in a 6-unit apartment building and all the coax cable drops from two 8-way splitters on the roof. In other words, each Tivo is connected by a discreet coax cable, possibly from two different splitters.
Will Moca work in this situation? And if so, just out of curiousity, how?
I just got my first Tivo and I was wondering where the Tivo gets its guide from?
Not Zap2it,I hope, because it's completely inaccurate for my area.
Anyone else watch this show? I used to love it, until the newest episodes.
Holy smokes, the product placement is so forced and awkward!
I only watched the first episode with the two Mercedes going to auction. Even without the grotesque product placement, it couldn't have been more boring. No story about the cars, getting them, fixing them up, test drives.. just "here are two really expensive cars I'm selling at auction for clients". Snooze. The product placements made it even worse.
I feel like poor Wayne Carini was forced into this (both the product placements and the poor plot/scripts).
I'm not sure I can fathom the second episode.
I'm new at this.
Just got a used Tivo Premiere off of Ebay.
All set up,but haven't activated yet.I'm procrastinating. LOL
I found out through the Tivo Help Forum that the tivo.com/activate page is NOT working -for new users.
Where does the Tivo gets its guide data from?
Not Zap2it,I hope, because it's inaccurate for my postal code.
Just watched movie Twonky the little tivo guy come to life.
I was unsuccessful using the Tivo-supplied codes to set up the remote to work with a Craig Model CLC512.
A Forum search turned up nothing.

Not sure about "50 Shades of Grey" Don Draper. Part of me thinks he was doing that to drive Sylvia away after hearing her fighting with Arnold. I think in his head he didn't want to deal with a situation similar to what happened to Pete a few episodes ago.
Nice to see Peggy still not afraid to tell Don what she thinks. Funny as hell to see Don get Ted drunk at work. Saw that coming.
Feel bad for Pete. Crazy mom can't be any fun.
Interesting they played RFK's assassination at the end, no real reactions other than Don/Megan.
And Joan protected Bob during the layoffs. Interesting to see what's up with that.
Oh, and Roger getting to fire Burt Peterson again was epic.
I'm a long-time TiVo customer (NY/Long Island area) and have owned every model since the original back in '99. I currently have three TiVo's in the house - an old S2 and two Premieres. There haven't been any major issues to report until this past Friday when I switched from Cablevision Optimum to Verizon FiOS.
Like a good/responsible customer, I did my part in preparing for the install by running the Guided Setup before they showed up, so that all TiVo's in the house were ready by the time the techs came out.
FiOS showed up promptly @ 9am on Friday morning and the initial setup (ONT, running wires, etc.) surprising took only 1 1/2 hours. They setup the S2 with no issues - connected it to a STB and validated that I received every subscribed channel. Then the cable card nightmare started with the Premieres... The first 2-man team only had 3 m-cards - one for each of my Premieres and an extra. They tried to activate/pair the cards for about 6 hours, but they weren't getting any reception on either TiVo... no channels were coming through. Then a second 2-man team showed up (around 5pm) with two more cards and they had the same issues - couldn't pair either Premiere unit and none of the channels were coming through. On the "test channels" screen it showed "No Channels Available" and LiveTV had a grey screen with "Channel Not Available, Contact Your Cable Provider For More Info".
I had TiVo tech support on a 3-way call with FiOS FSC and the in-home FiOS techs... FiOS said the cards showed active on their side, but TiVo couldn't confirm the same on my end. My "Conditional Access" screen supported the TiVo tech support in that the "Con: = No" and "Val: = 0" - so the cards were neither activated or paired on my end. Then TiVo tech support noted that there was a high failure rate on the CC's (something like 40%) and that FiOS should come back and test a few more.
The next day (Saturday) another 2-man crew showed up with a set of 8 cards and not a single one worked. Day 2 and another 6 hours later and we were no closer to a resolution. I'm simply not getting a signal on either TiVo Premiere. The FiOS techs again called FSC and they had them retest the incoming RG6 at each location, but the signal was fine. The odd thing is - when hooked up to the FiOS STB's, I had perfect video and received every channel from my subscription package... but when switching back to the TiVo's - no signal at all.
I spent another 2 1/2 hours on a 3-way call with Verizon tier-2 and TiVo tech support yesterday AM and they continued to blame each other for the CC issue, but I'm the one stuck in the middle having to deal with this nonsense. FYI - I had no issues with the Optimum CC's (with the use of a TA). Switching back to Optimum is not an option for many reasons - much higher monthly expense, slower internet, not to mention the time and effort spent over the last 3 days trying to work this out - this setup obviously works for others and I refuse to give up!
So here's the recap:
- Two TiVo Premieres, neither works with FiOS CC's. Between Friday and Saturday, we went through a dozen Motorola m-cards and neither would pair.
- We confirmed (and re-confirmed) that the activation/pairing info is correct for every card on both ends - Pod ID, Host ID and Data.
- FiOS insists that the cards are showing activated, however, my TiVo's are showing they're not - Con:=No; Val:=0; VCTID=0 (in Network Setup).
- 6 different FiOS techs were in my home over the weekend trying to get this to work without any success (only 1 out of 6 was at all knowledgeable with TiVo, albeit limited).
- This was been elevated to tier-2 FiOS support, but they're just as clueless as the in-home techs and tier-1 support. They maintain that they've done as much as they could on their end.
My brother (who lives one town over) has the same Premiere unit with a FiOS CC and had no issues with installation/activation/pairing. I can't be the only person with this issue... Can anyone here help?? Could the fact that I have an older Actiontec router (MI424WR rev.F) have anything to do with the FiOS to TiVo communication issues?
Thanks in advance!

The only required formats are MPEG-2 video and LPCM audio, both of which they support. We know they can also decode H.264 and WMV video (the original Netflix used WMV) as well as MP3, MP2, AC3 and WMA audio. Not 100% sure about MPEG-4 pt.2 but since the chip can do H.264 it can probably also do MPEG-4 pt.2. So that only leaves ATRAC3 audio, which is not widely used anyway.
Also the containers DLNA requires are PS, TS, MP4 and ASF all of which TiVo supports. (ASF is what WMV uses) So they're covered there as well.
The fact that DLNA is so restricted is actually why TiVo should be able to support it.
Has anybody made any serious attempts with those audio and video formats above? WMV video, ASF, WMA, AC3, and MP2 audio?
I don't even know what some of those things are (like PS, TS)
I'd love to find out WMV and ASF work some way...may have to "trick it" like I did for streaming .TiVo files.

My usual problem is not having a known good file to test stuff with ;]
Well, well, well...Jaime is the hero of this tale afterall...I'm surprised Brienne was not raped first.
The Arya portion of the story has just become a little absurd.
Excellent nudity this week. Long overdue!
I suspected Orell was in love with Igrit, but I changed my mind when he cut her loose last week. I should have known better. he's just a jerk who loves himself more, that's all.
A is a large door on a garage that can either be opened manually or by a garage door opener. Garage doors are necessarily large to allow passage of automobiles. Small doors may be made in a single part, larger doors used in commercial or industrial garages are usually made in several jointed parts. To save space, garage doors normally raise or roll upward, instead of sliding or swinging. The operating mechanism is spring-loaded or counterbalanced to offset the weight of the door and reduce effort required for opening and closing. Doors are made of wood, metal, or fiberglass, and may be insulated to prevent heat loss.
