Hi y'all. First post.
I've been using my TIVO Premier to display media from my WHS running TIVO Publisher for WHS.
I am in the process of replacing the entire thing with a Dell Blade server I got cheap from EBay. I've installed Server 2003 64 bit and I am trying to determine the best solution for accessing my media from the new server with my TIVO.
Galleon and PYTivo seem to rather dated. I installed TIVO Publisher on the server and the service runs ok, but there's no front end to configure.
I wasn't able to find anything on the ESPN web site that details anything about their final table coverage other than Monday at 8:00 ET/7:00 CT on ESPN2 (3 hours) and Tuesday at 9:00 ET/8:00 CT on ESPN (2 hours).
I am padding those recordings by 3 hours each, plus I am recording about 4 hours of those respective channels that air following those time blocks.
I seem to recall that last year's final table took FAR, FAR longer than just 5 hours total, and I don't have any idea how long they'll stick with coverage either night. I'm assuming they plan on Monday night going as long as it takes to get down to X number of players, and Tuesday night being covered until there is a winner.
Bottom line - if you want to watch it all, make plans that coverage will probably run over both nights!
Now what? I have an old series 2 that was zippered years ago and it has been a work horse. I made the mistake a few weeks ago of restoring a season pass backup to it and I couldn't create season passes or look at the info of any show that was recorded. No big deal. I could access anything I needed through Tivo Web Plus. I could still watch anything that was recorded and record on demand, just no searches on the machine or season pass creation. So today I decided to do a clear and delete everything. No problem. Repeated guided setup with no problem. I did NOT call Directv to activate my service, since it has been activated for years. And I cannot make the phone call it says it needs to make to be able to record anything. No problem, says I. I jump on the computer to log in to the DTivo and make a fake call, hoping that would resolve the "I gotta make a call" message. BUT NO!!! No route to host. Acts like it isn't zippered anymore. Please, tell me that is not the case. I don't want to pull the drive from the thing to tweak on it.
Have I done something wrong? Do I just need to reboot? I haven't done that, yet, but I will when it stops chattering so much. I did re-initialize the unit by calling DTV and saying error code 721.
Do all you old time hacking experts that are still kinda sorta hanging around have any advice for me?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
I have had an original S3 with a 1TB HDD since 2008. It has never experienced a random reboot. I got an S4 XL4 this past February and recently it seems that it has a random reboot about once a week or so. I'm not sure if it's related to the TiVo Stream or not.
Should I be concerned? This is the one electronic device ever that I've opted for a warranty on, and I do have the 3 year service warranty on my S4.
I am a brand new tivo user and so far I am liking what I see. Will the monthly fee always be 14.99 after 12 month commitment? I wish there was a even less price if you prepayed a year in advance. similar to what siriusxm does
For a couple of weeks we haven't been able to stream NetFlix using our TiVoHD.
We can stream with Wii's, PCs, AppleTV, Oppo, and various other devices, but when we try and start the NetFlix interface on the TiVo it just eventually times out back to the now playing screen.
Network connection is good, can download podcasts (ie CNet episodes), Pandora works, but nothing with NetFlix works.
Any suggestions? Or anyone else having problems?
I just started a clear and delete on my R10. Immediately after hitting the thumbs down for the third time and then hitting enter, it went to the "welcome" screen and it's been there now for an hour. I understand that a C&D can take several hours, but does it simply display the "welcome" screen the entire time??
Just doesn't seem right...
Thanks in advance.
TiVo HD and Premier are on the same network, adjacent IP addresses, same gateway and submask. Both are wireless connected (TiVo brand adapters).
They each connect to TiVo.com for daily updates without problems.
Each can be seen by the PC on the network.
The Premier can see the HD and transfer recordings from it but the HD cannot see the Premier.
TiVo support is scratching its collective head. It's been kicked up to 2nd and 3rd tier support.
I don't think it's related but the Android TiVo mobile app cannot connect to the HD. It couldn't do much if it did, but it cannot connect.

Entertainment on the web is everything and everywhere. It is a sea of chaos that many products have tried to order using walled-gardens, search engines and algorithms. Green Flag moved up to 1:43 Eastern; Recording is currently set to start @ 1:45., so adjust accordingly.
What are the formats you are supposed to use and encodes to get the best resolution?
And what's a .TiVo file? Is it for transfering into another TiVo to play?
It sure looked like this was not only the Season Finale of Boss, it's the Series Finale.
They wrapped up about every thread in rapid time.
It was the deepest plunge into the dark.
Never before has a Chicago Mare left so many actual bodies lying around.
I was thinking that there is not a single sympathetic character in the entire cast. Even our hero reporter made some dick moves when he made a deal to oust his boss from the editor job.
Overall it was a good quality yarn but I don't think we could have taken much more of the morose happenings.
I really enjoyed "That Guy...Who Was in That Thing" a documentary film on Showtime.
I had written a lot more but it got deleted by PEBKAC.
It's a great insight into the real world of the anonymous lesser-known workaday Hollywood character actors.
What impresses me most is how they can have a house with a mortgage and kids in school when they're lucky to get one job a month. They all keep up with the time-wasting auditions in hopes of not only getting a role on a TV series but a TV series that gets picked up.
I've spotted 3 of the guys on one movie and 3 TV shows since I watched just last week. See if you can tell me what roles.
I did a couple of searches on this and couldn't find anything. When you purchase or rent an Amazon Instant Video, it causes two entries on your "My Shows" screen. Don't know why but it adds both the movie and then a folder with the movie again. Does anyone know if you can delete the one with the folder and still keep the 2nd one with the movie by itself?
I currently have a Series 2 with lifetime and was told by Tivo CSRs that there is an upgrade path available until Nov. 19 - $299 to buy a Premiere box outright, and then $99 for lifetime. As we have OTA HD and HD cable in, the Premiere seems like a good way to get the latest technology and still maintain a lifetime sub.
- Is the UI still slow as I've read about elsewhere? I know there have been software upgrades since the initial Premiere release and wasn't sure if the performance was fixed. How does it compare to the Series2 UI?
- How decent is the cross-service search? (i.e. searching OTA, Cable, Netflix, Hulu, etc. at the same time)
Any other thoughts or observations are welcome! And thanks.
I am close to tears here. I bought a new WD approved HD and wanted to use Mfscopy and I screwed something up.
I backed up my original drive, kernal, and boot page, but now I am not sure what to do and don't want to totally blow this.
In Winmfs when I select my original Tivo drive I can see the parameters of model #, format, drive size (160GB), sectors, bus type and it is unmounted. But when I click select the drive does not show up in the lower left of Winmfs and when I go to to mfs copy, only the drive I am trying to copy to shows up.
Here is a screenshot
The drive just shows up at Tivo Drive A: 0 (, )
Scary thing is when I went to select the drive the first time it all showed up ok. I am not sure what I did.

Not sure what I made of this. Part of me says the past should stay in the past and The Munsters had its day, and part says there's some potential for silliness.
I'm thinking this may be better as a sitcom rather than a dramady though.
Wife loved it and, I must admit, it was fun to see some of the old nuances used in the show.
I understand that it's just a pilot for a series that was never made. Do you think they should make it or just let it die like the original?
What a fun show this was. I was LMAO at the battle for the rights to that smiley face sponge.
I want one of those segway inspired unicycles. Two unlikely sharks couldn't wait to try it out. Hadn't heard about the discussed segway fatality.
