I liked it. The lead actor is gorgeous! Where has he been?
Cool gimmick telling us in the first episode about the upcoming huge incident and each week we will be getting a piece of the story of how we get to that point. Nice twist on the use of flashbacks.
I knew Arroyo (I think that what his name) was setting Good Looking Boy up for a fall when he was being so complimentary and helpful. The Golden Boy wasn't a good enough detective to figure that out though.
So after they subtitled the french in english when they were in the art gallery, for one sentence they subtitled the english in french. That was one of the more bizarre things I've seen when watching TV...
This show consistently delivers the funny.
It was created by Greg Garcia, the same guy that gave us My Name is Earl, and we often see cameos of either the characters or actors from MNIE on Raising Hope.
This episode had all the main actors, but playing different characters.
Jason Lee’s character, Smokey Floyd, was in a rehab program where he had to apologize to everyone he had wronged and make it up to them, so he wrote all their names down on a list he kept in his pocket. Burt Chance was number 33 on the list: "Robbed a Lawn Guy of the Smokey Floyd experience."
Nadine Velazquez ran a kid's party rental and was seen the whole episode just jumping up and down on a mini-trampoline. Jump Jump Jump!
Darnell was 'Pizza man'. When he and Smokey saw each other, the exchange was "Hey, Pizza Man." "Hey, Smokey Floyd."
And when Pizza man was talking to Jaime Pressly, he said "Excuse me, darling, would a tiny piece of pizza bring you joy?" and she replied "I'm sorry...was I being a crab, man?" And Jaime even threw out an 'Oh Snap!'.
Randy was dressed up like a giant squirrel, and at one point said to Smokey "Brother, at this rate, you're never gonna finish crossing off that list."
Lots of references to Earl, including Mr Turtle.
They all started a band that played kid-parties, and the tour was called the 'Pour some breast milk on me tour'. Their hit song was one Smokey wrote for a really stupid girl he was dating, and it told her not to do things like put metal in the microwave and a knife in the toaster.
So many things packed into 30 minutes, it was a great look back at Earl and the rest.
On the TiVo earnings call yesterday, TiVo CEO Tom Rogers was quoted as saying, "Soon, we'll also be launching MLB.com on our platform to go along with the millions of content choices on TiVo already."
I finally figured out what is bugging me about Karen this season, and it hit me when the commercial for Twilight came on. Karen is very much in the same vein as Bella from Twilight - absolutely no characteristics of her own, other than being completely milquetoast. Again tonight, Karen was left standing in the street whimpering. Ugh. Grow a backbone!
After having won the competition for "most hated characters on television" last year with the character of Ellis, they re-enter the competition with this stage mom. Ugh. I so wanted to throw her through the window. When one of the characters on this show says "Isn't she a little old to have a momager?" the writers of this show should have stopped to think "Hmm. Yeah, I guess she is."
Speaking of Ellis - really? They KNOW the audience hates Ellis. Why bring him up, except solely to piss off the few people they have left watching this show? The only thing it did was make Jerry look even more like the comic book villain that he is. I mean hell, they even had him take his turn at the mustache-twirling and gloating. Can they BE any more cliche?
I laughed when they said that Bravo was filming the concert, mostly because that is exactly the kind of thing that Bravo USED to show, but is exactly the polar opposite of the kind of thing that they'd show now. It's like NBC/Comcast suits had them include the reference, without even realizing that it unintentionally makes fun of how badly that channel has drifted from it's original format.
I liked the big song at the end. (I did find it ridiculously implausible that they'd invite out the songwriters at the end. Sorry, but that doesn't happen.)
Apparently, I've now I've climbed onto the "hatewatching" bandwagon. :o
So this is the second time this has happened. Sunday night my TIVO didn't record The Mentalist. Several weeks ago it was Hart of Dixie. In both cases I have a season pass and in both cases they did not record and there was no entry in the past recordings under the ToDo list - it's like the programs were never in the schedule. When I scrolled back in the schedule they were there.
What gives here?
It seems there must be some sort of an issue with the program guide.
Nick Jr's schedule data has been wrong on the Tivo for about a week. Today I look at Zap2It, Comcast, and even Nick Jr's site...and they all show the same incorrect data.
For example..right now Tivo/comcast/Nick say Dora the Exporer at 6pm PDT. But really it's showing Peppa Pig.
I guess it's not worth complaining to Tivo and/or Zap2it if NickJr cant' even get it right on their own site.
I'm in San Jose, CA Comcast area. Other parents with same issue?
Tech support is horrible. I am pretty sure I am dumping TIVO service. What good is tivo now that I cannot convert tivo content. Useless tech support at TIVO. Wont support their software. I want a refund of what I paid for the plus upgrade. GARBAGE NOW!! Thanks for nothing TIVO! We are talking about the stupid date problem that tivo refuses to fix!
I have one video (out of thousands) transferred to my PC, that when I try to transfer it back to my Premiere the Premiere always reboots itself somewhere during the transfer. Makes no difference if I use Tivo Desktop or pyTivo to create the share from which the video is downloaded - the Premiere still reboots. It doesn't reboot at the same spot each time either.
All other videos transfer fine.
I got around this one by using a video converter to change the original file to a different format and had pyTivo transcode it back while sending it to the Premiere. At least I got to watch it.
Anyone seen anything as bizarre as this? (I'm not expecting to find a solution, nor do I particularly care because it's only one file that causes the problem, but it would be nice to know if this is an issue anyone else encounters.
Ok guys, this one has me stumped. I have a pretty good background in networking however this issue seems to deify logic. I have two TiVo Premiere XL4's hardwired over gigabit.
My network is as follows: cable Modem/wireless router first in chain and set up in bridge mode. Downstream is the second router (Apple Time Capsule) which does all of my NAT/DHCP, finally a third router downstream from the Apple Time Capsule is a LinkSys router also in bridge mode.
When using either the iPhone/iPad TiVo app with my family room TiVo (connected to the LinkSys router which is last on the chain) and watching "Looney Tunes" on the Cartoon Network, either live, or recorded, the iPhone/iPad app will instantly loose connectivity and display a message indicating it cannot connect to the TiVo network. This ONLY happens when watching "Looney Tunes" as it works fine when watching any other content on this channel whether it be live, recorded, etc. I cannot duplicate this behavior on my other TiVo which is upstream on the network connected to the Apple Time Capsule. Now if this were truly a network issue then why would this only occur while watching this particular show and not everything across the board. At first I thought it may just be a particular episode, however this happens every single time I try to watch "Looney Tunes" again whether it be live or recorded. I'm starting to go looney myself trying to figure this out...
I have a Tivo premiere hook up to an OTA antenna. For some reason, 1 channel (11.1) appears twice in the channel list, and in the Guide. I was able to uncheck one of them, and I can receive the programing on that channel.
Now, a neighbor has the same thing happen to her Tivo premier, hooked up to the same OTA antenna. I've tried unchecking one or the other, but I can't get reception on that channel. Other televisions, hooked up to OTA work fine.
When I watched the first eposode I wasn't sure if they were going to be able to keep up the twists and turns and the suspense. Well it looks like they have. Just when you think you know whats going to happen, they throw you a curve. This has become of the the must see shows for me. My wife even commented last nite, 2/25/13, that the back ground music has also been very good.
Typical Dolans. They sue content providers for exactly the same practice they've been using with their channels for years. Not to mention how they (and other cable/sat providers) force consumers into those same types of bundles.
ive come to the conclusion I am sick of satellite and cable and I am going ti just use antenna and streaming shows from internet.
I am not sure what equipment I need to buy.
I have 3 rooms I would like to have dvrs in or be ablr to stream dvr content to those rooms.
ive heard tivo dvr system is the way to go.
1 room is the main living room
2nd room is bedroom
3 rd is exercise room
if soneone could point me in the right direction on all the equipment I need to buy that would be great.
and what services I should sign up for.I have netflux streaming.
anyway thank you

The comments over on ABC.com are, of course, full of comments from little whiners who say this is the worst cast ever, their favorite pros are missing, yada yada yada.
I for one am happy to see the new pros being stirred into the mix. The pros have their own careers, and I think it's good both for them and for the show if they are able to take some time off. If no one one had left the show since Season 1 or 2, then we wouldn't have seen Chelsie Hightower, because there wouldn't have been a place for her, you know?
Out of 11 people, I have four to root for (and one of them is in the holy crap, I can't believe it, jaw-dropping happy category), so I'm plenty happy. I guess that proves I'm an old fart, and shows why the babies are already whining WORST CAST EVER.
How did you feel about this episode?
Parade's End. A new mini series on HBO. Begins tonight.
Parades End tells the story of a bad marriage, set in a much broader context of a rotting civilization.
And thats the real difference between it and Downton Abbey. That show is a gauzy anachronism in period costumes; the first novel of Parades End was published in 1924, and the series is enmeshed in the great cataclysm of the time, underscoring the cruelty of the age as much as its charm.
Does the small sdv adapter work with a series 2 tivo? All the posts I'm reading talk about series 3 and premier boxes.
That was a pretty conclusion to the first part. Whoever mentioned that Castle's dad was involved hit a home run. When that character first showed up it was pretty obvious who it was. You don't bring James Brolin on a TV show as a bit character.
Castle's Dad's backstory is weird considering the Nikki Heat books. Spoilerized for folks that haven't read them yet:
In the books, Nikki's mom (who is obviously Beckett's mom) was killed because she was secretly a CIA operative. So now we have an author, Richard Castle, who wrote a book where the main character's mom was a secret CIA operative who later finds out that his own father is a CIA operative. That seems like poor storytelling on the writers of Castle's part. Couldn't they have done something with his dad's character that wasn't exactly what happened with Heat's mom. If I remember correctly, didn't Heat's mom even work out of Paris? If it had happened the other way around it would make more sense.
Anyway, good episode.
