Premier box, Motorola Razr HD phone, wired and wireless network, but will not connect. Tried every trick in trouble-shooting recommendations, and spent over 1/2 hour on telephone with Tivo Tech. support. He tried to be helpful, but still cannot connect. Had some difficulty with Premier when first purchased. It appears Tivo "rushes to market" before getting "bugs" out of hardware and software, allowing purchasers to help them trouble-shoot issues they should have resolved before releasing product. Would have considered purchasing a Roamio, but now have concerns for functionality of Tivo hardware and software. Will wait until the "dust settles" on this product. App is useless.
Works just fine on my Plus.
The title says it all, will these work with clear QAM and no Cablecard?
I have four Series 2 Tivos on my network. I have a Linksys/Cisco router. Everything was fine until I added a Linksys/Cisco wireless range extender to help two of my Tivos which had signal strengths hovering between 25-40%. The range extender did its job, increasing the signal strength on the two affected Tivos to 80-100%. However, the two Tivos which are being aided by the range extender keep losing contact with the other two Tivos.
If I restart all 4 Tivos, they all see each other for about 10 minutes. Then, the two Tivos aided by the range extender see each other and the other two Tivos see each other. Theyre almost acting like its two separate networks. Ironically, At first, I could access all four Tivos using KMTTG and pyTivo. Now I can only see the two Tivos not affected by the range extender.
I thought it was a pyTivo issue but the problem continues even when I disabled pyTivo.
All 4 S2s have wireless G adapters.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
So while setting up my Roamio Pro I got a EAS for a weather alert. While the sounds was going, the screen showed a (blueish) panel. I expected the text of the alert to show up there, but it stayed empty. At the end of the alert the panel went away. Rewinding the buffer showed the usual EAS alert (mind you I'm coming from a Series3).
This is running 20.3.6.
Your link from the roamio ad on the home page leads to a page not found message because you have the /home part included twice.
Link should be .com/home/...
Your link has .com/home/home/...
Don't know if the Roamio basic model is a 2.5 or 3.5 drive, but Weakness is offering a basic model with 300 and 475 HD hours upgrade.
I'm going through the process of assigning static IP addresses to all my computers, printers, routers, iPhone/iPad, Apple TV, etc.
I would like to do this with my TiVo's as well.
Where can I find the MAC addresses of the TiVo's? I have a TiVo Roamio coming soon. I will have a MoCA connection to 4 Minis.
Does the MoCA adapter get its own IP address? If so, how can I obtain the MAC for that?
I'm using an Apple Time Capsule which unfortunately doesn't offer a DHCP client list to get this information. Would make it a lot easier.
Is the new Roamio any faster than the Premiere for channel surfing with a Tuning Adapter and CableCard?
I'm getting a new Roamio today and as a result, I'm going to decommission my old S3 that has given me many years of service.
I have a bunch of recordings on the S3 (non copy protected) that I'd like to mass copy to the Roamio. My question is, what is the best way to do that?
If I remember correctly, you can copy from one tivo to another but does it let you copy an entire folder at one time?
Is PyTivo or kmttg suitable for this?
Anybody know when TiVo Stream will allow me to watch my TiVo when I'm outside of my home network? I've heard that it's in the works, and it would be great to use right within my TiVo App instead of having to rely on my SlingBox to accomplish this.
With, or without the new Roamio announcment, is there a way to watch recorded videos on my Premiere (with the tivo stream) from a remote (1000 miles away) broadband connection? (on my ipad for example). I have read the announcements and just don't get it.
I'm just looking to see if any of the forum members got one and have you tested with pytivo yet?
It appears the HDUI is finally complete in the Roamio. Does anyone think the HDUI will be completed in the Premiere?
I'd like to see TiVo add a small webpage to the embedded web server to show status for the unit. Wouldn't have to show too much info.
This TiVo's name: configured name
Software Version: XXX.XX.XXX
Uptime: XX days, XX hours, XX minutes
Internal Temperature: XX C (XX F)
Available disk space: XX%
Ethernet or WiFi: Ethernet
IP address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Date/Time last update: 01/01/2013 07:00 CST
Date/Time of next projected update: 01/02/2013 08:30 CST
Status of Tuner 1: Channel 105 (Tuned)
Status of Tuner 2: Channel 44 (Recording)
Seems like this wouldn't tax the OS and CPU very much at all, most of that info is readily available from multiple locations in every Linux distro. And it would let some of us geeks download and track status. Not that it would be really useful, just geeky and cool. :)
Came home yesterday to find my APC H15 off due to a relay failure. Reset the unit and my S3 boots up and all seems to be well... then it rebooted again. Fine... it'll do that sometimes. Once it booted up again, I started playback of a recorded program and it rebooted again, so that ruled out software update (update for S3, ha!). I ran kickstart and ran the drive through the SMART test and got a FAIL 7 on the extended test. Bummer!
Re ran the test again and got the same error. Looks like my 1TB is on the way out. Ordered a WD20EURS from Amazon. Now I have to dig the old PC out of the closet and figure out how to swap the drive again. It's been a while. :)
I was debating whether it not it was worth investing another $100 into the box, but since it has lifetime, I went ahead with the purchase. Wise?
On the official Roamio page comparing features of the three models, it has a feature that says "Pay-per-view Access" with a thumbs up for all 3 models. Does that mean I can finally use my TiVo to order a PPV event like a UFC fight? Or can I at least call and order the event and watch it on Roamio? I can't find any further explanation on this or any threads about it here.
I have TWC and currently have to drag their DVR out of the closet and hook it up to order and receive the PPV event.
I'm fairly new to TiVo. I purchased my first TiVo just last June so I have never observed first hand a TiVo hardware upgrade cycle. For those of you have seen previous hardware refreshes can you offer some guesses on how the market for used TiVo Premieres might evolve?
I expect a flood of used Premieres with lifetime to hit the market in the next few months and prices to trend downward. After the early adopters have all migrated to Roamio do prices stabilize or continue a steady march lower?
Only the cheapest of these new devices lets me use a regular off the air antenna?
Mark me down for a "no" on this one. (And if they don't soon come out with something to update what I have now... it might be a "no" to my monthly account as it is.)
Who was the genius at Tivo that decided to alienate a huge amount of people and perhaps lose a lot of business in the future? (And these people get paid to make choices like this? It boggles the mind.)
Looking for the best place to buy the new Tivo Roamio - Pro version
d) other suggestions?
Should I get extended warranty? I will be purchasing lifetime and plan to keep it for life...
