I now have a issue with the audio eventually going out of sync with the video after a few minutes on my TiVo premier box. It happens with both live and recorded standard definition feeds. I don't have digital cable or any cable cards in the TiVo box. It will eventually happen when I switch channels, unpause, or start watching a recording. The only temporary fix is press pause then play in quick succession to resync up the audio. Did a manual restart and no change. Also the SAP setting is off on both the TiVo and my tv. Nothing changed between now and before the update to 20.2.2.
Any other suggestions or am I stuck with this until/if they ever patch this?
I'm looking to add a sound bar to my TV, but would like to get one that's compatible with the standard TiVo Premiere remote. I know many people have had trouble with the Vizio models not working with the remote.
If you have one that works with the standard remote, please post the brand/model #.
I have been using the Alternative EPG 0845 number but it now has a problem and I have to use a Manchester number. It is running up my phone bill and apparently there is no immediate prospect of getting the 0845 number back up and running.
I have Broadband and also a second TIVO unit that I do not use but that has a network card. I am not that technical about TIVOs but can I use this somehow to schedule programmes, etc. and avoid the need to keep dialling Manchester every day? I bought the one with the network card second hand when the TIVO service went to Virgin because I assumed I would be able to get some sort of EPG over the Internet, but then the Alternative EPG became available so I never did anything with it.
Thanks in advance of anyone's help.
I have a Series 2 (DT) with lifetime that I am about to sell. I initially thought I would try selling it first on Craigslist, but I'm now wondering if I should just sell it on ebay and then have it insured when shipped (via FedEX).
This way if something goes wrong when they get it hooked up, I have a backup resource to make a claim for it. Unlike if someone buys it through Craigslist & claims it doesn't work (& they might have switched the hard drive out for a bad one), I can't really fall back on something.
I realize I am also gonna have additional fees associated with selling it on ebay (ebay & paypal fees), but it may be worth the less headaches and hassles. ANy thoughts?
TiVo newbie here. Retiring and need to eliminate Direct TV bill. Plan to install antenna system and TiVo. (2 TVs). which Model TiVo should I be looking at ? Do I need 2 TiVos ? (have good Internet access)
Would it be possible to purchase a Tivo and then only using Streambaby without activating Tivo Service?
I am looking for a streaming device with my HP LX195 Windows Home Server.
I've tried Roku and Western Digital products without any success. Or it there another product that I should try which may provide better results.
Please let me know. Thanks.
I'm getting a malware warning from Google chrome for the site because of zipmeme.com.
My Premiere died last week with a GSOD. I have a ton of 2tb drives lying around, so I attempted to hook up the drive and back it up.. JMFS wouldn't even see it as a tivo disk. I couldn't find anyone locally who'd let me borrow their unit for an afternoon to make a copy of their disk, so I ended up ordering one from weaknees. I just ordered the smallest available since I have a spare larger drive already in the closet. The replacement drive came today, and I was able to copy it to the 2TB drive, expand it, and supersize it. My question is this, are all my season passes gone? If I fire my tivo up with this new drive, will all my season passes go the way of the dodo? If I log in to tivo.com right now, I can see them all in the season pass manager. Can I move them to one of my other tivos and then move them back? What are my options here?
When I click "my shows" and go down to the bottom, I usually find a now playing list for whatever I have saved on my computer in the tivo desktop but from time to time, the now playing option is not there.
I have had to uninstall and reinstall tivo desktop each time I try to transfer stuff from my pc to the tivo and when i do that, the "now playing" appears at the very bottom of the my shows list. but sure enough the next day, it is gone.
what am i doing wrong? any help would be appreciated.
I have obtained the Doctor Who classic episodes. If anyone is interested I was thinking of posting about the older series as I watch them? I've only seen the two versions of the pilot episode and the second episode so far. I will probably not go through the episodes that fast, but I think it will still be interesting.
I can't decide what I feel about Abi.
I hate her, but she's entertaining TV.
I think she's a mean, nasty, despicable person, but then I realize that maybe she's just dumb and unaware.
Yikes, didn't think they'd actually kill off the hacker teen . . . and then making it clear that it was a torture-murder. Eeeeeesh.
Nice to see Carlo Roto (aka Chloe's husband in "24") back on the small screen, and against type to boot. Then again, he got chicked by Grace Park. My wife asked, "What kind of special forces operative is he that he can't beat her up?"
I said, "I guess in the world of the show, being a South African special forces guy is not the same as being a U.S. martial artist."
I know it's kind of hard to take Grace Park seriously as a badass hand-to-hand fighter because she's so slender, but I do get a kick out of watching her character beat the crap out of the bad guys.
I bought a hard drive off of e-bay and after i did a guided set up it shows a ghost tivo on my network. any ideas on getting rid of the ghost ???:confused:
Is it possible for a dying or dead system battery to cause a Premiere to be in a never ending re-boot loop?
Hey all! I'm going to be replacing my Premiere with either a Premiere 4 or Premiere XL4. (I haven't decided yet.. heh)
I'm considering getting a new TV as well but I'm very unfamiliar with the functionality they provide when used with a TiVo. Is there any reason to get a Smart TV if I have TiVo?
As an aside, I've seen that some Smart TVs offer YouTube support. I watch a lot of YouTube videos and the current YouTube app on TiVo absolutely sucks. It's buggy, slow, and non-intuitive. I know YouTube developed it but why TiVo accepted this crap on their system is beyond me. I pay TiVo for service, not YouTube, and expect better service. The Netflix app isn't much better.
Anyway, sorry for the rant.. lol. Is there any reason to get a Smart TV if I have TiVo?
I have a Series 2 and the fan has stopped working.
Checked with WeakKnees but they want about $20 + shipping for a fan, which feels like I am getting ripped off, since I know you can get computer fans for about $5-7.
What I don't know is the exact specs I need in a replacement, or a specific one that will work with this model.
Any ideas? Thanks much!
Thought this was pretty funny..
