This episode really delivered in the last few minutes!
Previews told us one of the team wouldn't make it and watching the episode I think we were intended to think it might be Sam, seeing as how he and Barry were in a pretty dicey situation. Right, like they'd really get rid of Bruce Campbell. ;) However, I think they foreshadowed Nate's demise by how he repeatedly interfered despite Michael's warnings (clearing out the party goers at the hotel, having pizza delivered). When he took down Anson so easily, it seemed obvious things were going to take a turn for the worse.
The scene where Nate and Anson (and the sign) got a hole blown in 'em was well done. I liked how they first showed the blood splatter on Nate's face, then he slowly collapsed, and then they panned back showing Anson's body.
Nice conclusion. Anson is dead. Nate's death will certainly push Michael even farther towards the edge. Fi is out of prison and back with the gang.
I have two shows in my Recently Deleted folder that will not let me permanently delete. I select each show and tell it that I want the show permanently removed and it acts like it accepted my command but it nevers gets removed.
I tried transferring it to another box, but all that really did was create another copy. It did not remove it.
Great ep, I thought JR would ride in and whoop some cartel butt. In the back of my mind during the first ep I thought there might be more than "brother and sister." She really dropped the ball by not telling Chris when he asked if there was anything else. Time for a new babe for Chris.
So we knew this was inevitable, the prospect of the 4 coaches coming into the game as players. I am going to vote no when I get a chance. I kind of like the dynamic the way it is. But as Brittany figured out (and heck, if she can figure it out anyone can!) there's just not enough players to sustain a whole season, especially with one getting thrown out of the house ahead of time.
Any bets on the outcome of this vote? I'd be surprised if the vote is no. I fully expect the coaches to be players. And what an advantage they would have. First of all, they had a 2 week head start where they couldn't go home. Second as coaches they had the ability to learn the strengths and weaknesses of their players, without fear of eviction. And of course the obvious advantage of having played before, and in the case of two of them, winning and in the case of 2 of them, 3rd time around (and Boogie falls into both).
As for the episode. Ian outing JoJo's makeout session sealed her fate (or at least that's how they edited this). The old "showmance creates too strong an alliance" play. I'm glad Dan gets to stay another week.
Also loved Dr. Will's comments that if Janelle loses, she's a three time loser. I've always felt her game was always overrated and she's too easily played. Oh and her boobies are how heavy? Did she say 6 1/2 lbs each? Her back's got to be killing her.
So now the dilemma. Two weeks of Olympics so I don't know if I'm going to watch for two weeks. Do I read the threads here or save up the episodes and do a marathon after they are over?
i have severe internet issues which are unresolved. everytime dsl goes down the tivo locks up. is this normal behavior? takes about 2 or 3 minutes for it to unlock then it's fun to watch it 'catch up' with all the button presses:eek:
Is it possible to use TiVo Search (as on the TiVoHD) using the SDUI instead of Swivel Search?
I saw the words "Tivo" and "Waiver" and got excited for a split second, as the last time those words were put together, we got the Elite. But this isn't that interesting.
The Reader's Digest Version:
MSO-provided HD cable boxes are mandated to comply with an "industry standard that provides a/v communications including service discovery, video transport, and remote control command pass-through standards for home networking" by December 1st.
Tivo's saying, "IP, WiFi and ethernet are the dominant physical standards, but there are lots of protocols in existence (DLNA,etc). Please clarify what's expected, and give us a year to fall into compliance so that we and our MSO partners aren't boned."

I tried to get help finding a remote code for my DTA converter box before, but got no replies ...
I'm willing to buy a $10 Amazon gift eCard (will send to your email address) for the first person who can provide me with a code that will work consistently enough so my Series 2 TiVo can record correct channels.
Offer good for a few days, but if it takes too long, will post a cancellation in this thread and just buy a different model converter from eBay (any recommendations?).
Here's the deal (from previous post):
Digital TV converter box, model AccessHD DTA1080. Need remote code.
TiVo (Series 2) has a listing for Access, and 3 codes to choose from, but none change the channel correctly. (Will change okay to a 1 digit-something channel like 7-1 but NOT to a double digit like 28-3.)
Have tried troubleshooting with TiVo support and changing options (there is an advanced setting for 1 or 2 digits) but still does the same thing.
NOT a problem with IR cable (tested extensively) or the box or it's native remote (tested extensively and work fine).
Just looks like the ACCESS code is incorrect for this particular model.
I have tried the feature where you cycle through a zillion codes but that didn't work, or I did it wrong, or lacked the patience if I was supposed to try a few thousand more.
Correct answer is NOT to tell me to try searching for a few hours. Just want a code.
Does anyone have it?!
Had an eSATA drive added to an hr20 to add 1 terrabyte - has worked flawlessly for over year. Just moved to THR22-100. Can I use my eSATA drive again on the THR22-100 without formatting it first? When I first added to the hr20 it had nothing on it. But now it has the shows to be recorded plus all the other stuff from the hr20. Can I just connect it like I did before and it will write over everything or do I have to wipe it or reformat it?
Hello - Just wondering if anyone has some advice for me. I've had my new premiere elite for about 3 months - about 1 month ago it started locking up while scrolling thru menus including my shows list. Also is sluggish/locking up on various menus. I got a new Tivo Wireless N adapter but that hasn't helped. I have a poor signal from the router. I tried to install a new router but that didn't help either...Then I started losing the connection to the router intermittently...
Should I get a router expander? And even if I do - weak internet signal shouldn't effect the menu operations should it?
My TiVo HD has started to "forget" downloaded Comcast program info. I have done the guided setup twice and while it downloads information for about 2 weeks into the future, the next morning it is all gone and one-time record requests are erased from the queue.
I don't know what to try next so any suggestions will be appreciated.
I have two HD tivos on my network along with Tivo Desktop Plus.
The name of ONE of the Tivos was changed from "Camera" to "Bedroom" several weeks ago.
I noticed that in Desktop Plus, AND on the OTHER Tivo HD, the other unit is still being called it's previous name, "Camera".
The name WAS changed successfully on the Tivo Website to "Bedroom". How do I execute the change in Desktop Plus????
I have a dead tivo with lifetime service. I am about to get a XL4, and if I have a working lifetime service tivo tied to my account, the lifetime service would be $400 instead of $500 for me. Is there any way to simulate a dialin to tivo so they see my dead tivo as active?
Last night I just saw the Xfinity OD menu (Comcast OD name). I could get to all the OD programs but when I went to watch one I only got the first 1/2 second of the show and the TiVo just stopped at that point, the back button or TiVo button got you out, so my question for the people that have OD from Comcast is:
Does this system take a few days to get running correctly ??
I did sign up for an E-Mail when OD was ready for my area, I have not received any E-mail about OD, has anybody ever received an E-Mail telling them that Comcast OD was now ready in your area ??
Do I have to call Comcast to fully implement OD ?
I have 1 TPXL and 3 TPs all connected with the N TiVo adapter at 5Gh and MRS works great.
A poster on another forum had the exact same problem that I am having (with the same equipment) and summarized it better than I could, so I will just paste her summary below. Unfortunately, she never received a solution to the problem (by the way I have this problem with the serial connection and IR blaster connection. I have tried both separately.):
My Series 2 TIVO suddenly started experiencing the same channel changing problems the others described. One moment it was working fine, and then suddenly it's been unable to correctly change channels when recording programs. It was no gradual change either; it just suddenly started having problems.
I have a Motorola box, connected via serial port to TIVO for the channel changing. (I have tried IR in the past, but have had VERY poor success with channel changing using this method - especially for the 3-digit channels - so I don't consider this a viable option that would "improve" or "fix" the problem.) What I am noticing is that if the cable box needs to change from a higher number to a lower number, TIVO first changes the channel to the correct number, then almost immediately goes down 1 more number. Vice versa for the other direction - the channel ends up changing to a number that is 1 higher. However, if the cable box is already positioned at the correct channel (and I have used the cable box remote to do this, so TIVO does not know that the channel has been changed), TIVO leaves it there and records the correct channel. I can understand this last bit if TIVO had just been recording on that same channel, but not when I've used the cable box remote (unknown to TIVO) to change it. Seems like TIVO would still try to change the channel (I dunno... maybe it does, but the cable box knows it's already where it's supposed to be and ignores the signal to change channels???)
Occasionally, TIVO will record the correct channel, but it's really hit or miss. For example, out of a block of 6 programs on 6 different channels, sometimes (actually, most of the time) I might get only 1 channel changed correctly, and "garbage" (wrong channels) for the other 5. But other times, I might get 4 or 5 channels changing correctly. And it doesn't seem to matter whether the channels are single digit, double digit, or triple digit. (I know with IR I really had trouble with the triple digit channels). But more often than not, I am noticing that the channel changes are usually NOT working correctly for most, if not all, of my programs. Getting 4 or 5 out of 6 correct temporarily lulls me into thinking it's "working" better, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to last for long.
I have tried the following "fixes", but with little or no success:
1. Turned off the power button on the Motorola cable box and then powered back on.
2. Physically unplugged the cable box from the power outlet, then plugged back in.
3. Restarted TIVO from the menus.
4. Physically unplugged TIVO from the power outlet, then plugged back in.
5. Disconnected the physical serial cable from both the TIVO and from the cable box, then reconnected them again. (The only thing I did NOT do was replace the physical serial cable with another).
6. As a last resort, ran Guided Setup again on TIVO.
The only discernable improvement with any of these "fixes" is that usually the channel changing was not quite as severe... for a short time (i.e., less than 1 day), that is - then it went back to having problems with nearly every channel change.
I am assuming that the problem lies with the TIVO because when I use the cable box remote (had to dig that one up, since I normally only use the TIVO remote) to directly change channels, there is no problem whatsoever. But when I use the TIVO remote - which means the signal is first going through TIVO - the channels do not change correctly; they go 1 more up or down. This goes for entering the channel number in via the numeric keys or using the up/down channel buttons.
Is this problem then a symptom of other problems with my TIVO? Or should I try totally replacing the physical serial port cable? Could the serial port on the cable box (or TIVO) suddenly "go bad"? Or do I switch to IR channel changing... (but only if there's a way to make the IR option work better)? As it is now, my TIVO is virtually worthless for making recordings (which is what I rely the most on it to do, as I rarely watch live TV). Any help or ideas (beyond getting a new TIVO - which I can't afford right now) would most be appreciated.
anyone else watching these shows? i was a little disappointed in warehouse 13, the effects were pretty rough and it seemed to me like the actors have lost interest in the show. alphas came out of the gate much stronger and i'm looking forward to where the show goes.
Is anyone watching this show? It seems to be a Deadliest Catch clone which is being shown on the History channel. Recorded the first episode, but have not watched it yet.
