I am not seeing my 5ghz SSID, only the 2.4gHz one
Hey guys, after hard drive update experiments etc. I FINALLY got Charter to install today. I have a question. I have 2 Roamio (4 tuner boxes) and 1 Premiere (2 tuners) I was given Motorolla MTR700 TA's. Going through the install with a phone rep I got a message saying they only support 2 tuners there for all 4 won't be useable. Does this sound right? I only ask because I had a bunch of stuff set to record and from everything I can tell 4 tuners are recording when I set them on the Roamio. I just checked again and set 4 things to record all in HD and them played each back. So am I good to go? Charter said they would bring the "proper TA's" tomorrow but maybe that message earlier about the tuners was just a glitch?
I know the box say one thing and the website says another. So nothing better than someone's real life experience to solve this problem.
If your switch is nice enough to have two separate lights for 10/100 and 1000. Have you connected your Basic to that switch and seen the gigabit light go on?
Or if you have any other reliable way to test it could you please post?
I've scoured the UI of my Roamio Pro and can't seem to find where thumb ratings and scheduled suggestions are stored. They used to be under the TV section of my Premiere XL4. Anyone else been able to find this on the Roamio?
So, i ordered a Roamio Plus before going on an out of town trip. Amazon said 1-3 weeks for delivery which was fine since i would be gone for a while. Then Amazon sends something saying my order was expected to ship sooner than expected and arrive on the 28th. Much racing around to have things "covered" so it would not be left on my doorstep unattended for days. Then notice that they moved the delivery back to the 31st. Well, it still hasn't shipped so it will be sometime next week now. You know, now that i was excited to have it waiting for me upon my return. Damn Amazon.
Got my new Roamio and picked up a CableCard from the Verizon store today. Enter the Roamio's Host and Data ID into the online system and it activates without issue. Everything looks good expect none of the HBO and Cinemax channels work. Since they are the only copy protected channels in the lineup I call Verizon figuring the pairing process failed and they can fix it.
Instead support tells me there is a known problem with pairing Tivo Roamio's and they are working on a fix but have no ETA. She promised to e-mail me some information on the problem but of course nothing has arrived yet.
Anybody else have this problem? I'm planning to give them a call back tomorrow during the day.
I have had Dish Network back when they only had one satellite in the sky, DirecTV and now only my series 3 HD DVR and OTA programming.
I can download anything I have recorded on my DVR to my laptop and watch it whenever and wherever I want.
Can't do that with DirecTV unless you buy their hardware for $99??.
Tivo is light years ahead of all other TV providers in both equipment and software and that's why I love Tivo and my HD DVR.
Does anyone have either a file of standard HDTV color bars or know of a place where they can be found? One of the HD cable networks used to broadcast them once a week or so as a test/setup program, but I haven't seen it in ages. I'm willing to download a file and transfer to my TiVo as I have desktop plus
I just received my Roamio Pro, and noticed that the IR sensitivity is quite weak compared to other TiVo's that I've had in the same location on my shelf. I've tried with both the TiVo remote (in IR mode) and my Harmony One with similar results.
Has anyone else noticed this?
has anyone seen internal pictures of the roamio boxes? I'm curious about the ability to change out the internal drive. does it have the basic tivo image on flash on the board someplace and then the ability to format a new drive and load a newer firmware on it? I remember that Directv had this capability but was wondering when tivo was going to make it happen.
I like the old premiere blue background better than the new black background. Is there anyway to default it back.
So I'm thinking of making the switch to Tivo. Looking to pick up a Premiere with a lifetime sub (anyone here have one :)).
Anyways, when I go to get my time warner service, it says either CableCard, or CableCard with tuner. What's the difference and which one do I need??
How do I prevent 3 of My Tivo's from playing back 1 Tivo Roamio Pro contents?
I have 4 Tivo's and I don't want the other 3 from playing back recordings from 1 of them.
I changed the settings on Tivo.com. I even disabled Video sharing on ALL the boxes and they all still share. Its been almost a week since I changed the settings. I even rechecked and unclicked again.
I also had all the Tivo's connect to the server a few times and I restarted all the boxes.
Still they ALL share no matter what I do.
My Tivos are:
Tivo 3 (wireless G)
Tivo XL4 (wireless N)
Roamio Pro (Ethernet)
Roamio basic (Internal Wifi)

What is the best way to do the set up. Cable card first or guided setup then cable card pairing?
I just bought a Roamio Plus and a Mini. The Plus is on the first floor in the family room, about 20 feet from my office where my Mac with Comcast modem and Apple modem live. The Mini is in the basement, about 75 feet away, and was to supply video to the home theater.
I cannot easily hardwire from my router to the Roamio Plus. I'm not sure I want to move the modem and router into a tight space behind the TV & Plus.
I have a Rocketfish Power Line Adapter I was using with Comcast's X1 cable box. (The X1 had so many problems so I'm trying Tivo). The PLA worked well with Comcast's main DVR and second-room box. But I cannot get a strong and continuous signal so the Mini will work properly.
Tivo says they do not support PLA connections and suggested I come here for help. Does anyone know if this can be done? And how?
I'd appreciate any help. I really don't want to return the Tivo but may have to if I can't get a solid signal in the home theater!
I bought two Minis today to go along with the new Roamio Pro that I picked up yesterday. Unfortunately, setup isn't going very well. After activating the Mini on TiVo's website, I hooked it up and plugged it in. It rebooted a couple times, downloaded some new software, and then locked up. I had to pull the plug. Eventually I got to the setup screen where it shows all my TiVos, including the Roamio. Unfortunately, they all have a red circle with a line through it next to their names. It is my understanding that since the Roamio has DTA built in, there sin't anything I need to do to get it to play nice with the Mini. It should just work. Right?
I tried rebooting both the Roamio and the Mini. I also forced the Roamio to call in to the mother ship. Still no dice. I haven't tried the other Mini yet. Any thoughts?
I had an issue after activation and connecting the Roamio. My TiVo mini was previously working fine with my XL4, but for some reason I was getting a V70 error saying that the mini could not find a tivo on my network. TiVo support had me do several force connections on the mini and the roamio, none if which resolved the issue. After about 45 minutes on the phone he asked me to give it 3 days to see if the issue resolves itself. I really wasn't too concerned because I don't use the mini that much, so I agreed to how it a few days. After hanging up, I decided to restart the Roamio. Restarting the roamio resolved all issues immediately.
Has anyone done this? My parents split time between homes in 2 states. The idea is, get a cable card from each provider (comcast and cox) and then just bring the tivo with when moving back and forth.
Swap the card and fire it up, no issues?
Need to call to pair?
Can't do it at all?
