I am excited about the Rand Ravich show Crisis. I really loved "Life" and was hoping he would have a new show.
Well, Ollie, that's certainly a fine mess you've gotten yourself into.
Malcolm Merlyn's been one step ahead of you all this time and he whupped you good to boot.
(And have you thought about investing in a real mask?)
As expected, the device created by Dr. Brion Markov
And I'm willing to bet that
Malcolm will run it through the old subway tunnels to set it off.
I did like Felicity at Merlyn Global though and Diggle's method of rescuing her.
(Although him having a job there was a tad convenient now, wasn't it?)
(And a "teraflop of data"?)
And back on the island, can Ollie prevent Fyers from downing that Ferris Air jet?
(And if Yao Fei is dead, who continues to teach Ollie how to be a baddass? Slade?)
Tommy, Tommy, Tommy. You can just see the darkness rising in him.
All in all, setting up nicely for the season finale.
Nia, who apparently prefers to argue when she is wearing just a bra and panties, has added some pretty amusing drama to this season. As in all recent seasons, it's hard to like any of these people, but I felt a little bit bad for Jordan when Nia clearly provoked him over and over again until she got a reaction out of him. Her one-sided recollection of the night was too much. I would think what she did, pushing him hard in the face, would have been enough to get her kicked off the show, but I'm glad that didn't happen.
I reviewed all the posts on this subject and they're pretty old.
Is anyone still dealing with this issue?
When I spoke to support today, they said noone else is having this problem.
Series 3 - connects sucessfully every day - cox cable w/TA
Got the message "program data will run out......"
I didn't believe it because I could see data way past that date.
After that date, the data was only there when looking at the directory on live tv. Search function wouldn't show anything.
Repeated the complete guided setup and message went away for a few weeks then came back.
Went in and reset the zip code (only takes a few hours to download instead of all day with new guided setup) and message went away for a few days. Now it's back again.
TIVO says to connect to the service twice in a row then restart so I'll give that a try.
The tech says noone else is calling with this problem so if others are maybe we should start calling and calling.
EPISODE GUIDE: Mitchs ex-boyfriend, Teddy, invites the Pritchett clan to a fund-raiser at a roller rink, where Phil gives Gloria skating lessons; Claire avoids talking business with Jay; Haley gives Alex tips on meeting boys; and Cam tries to act relaxed around Teddy. Meanwhile, Manny and Luke discuss possible subjects for a My Hero essay assignment
discuss. criticize. praise. go...
The highlight for me was Claire working the snack bar like she never left...
Okay this is gonna be short and sweet.
THIS IS NOT OKAY
So mad right now. Oh hey there's Sarah. Oh hey there goes Sarah.
This however was okay
I hope she puts the beat down on Crowley and takes over Hell.
Previews look really good and really bad at the same time.
Not at all prepared for Carry On montage!
: Using TiVo(s) (or Cable boxes) in central closet to watch TV's in different rooms.
The original premise above was to gather all the boxes in a centralized location.
But with the introduction of the low profile TiVo Mini over ethernet & MoCA Coax - I can basically deliver live & recorded TV to at least 2 additional location above the main 4 tuner TiVo Premiere XL4- with not additional cabling.
In short, the goal is to allow TV in each room to have it's own tuner & TiVo watching ability but negate additional cabling & minimize monthly Comcast fees.
- TV locations: 1 MBR, 1 Kitchen, 1 family room, 1 upstairs bedroom, 1 Loft
- One 4-tuner TiVo XL4 - tuners would share Live TV & record simultaneously upto 3 TV location above
- One 2-tuner TiVo Premiere that could be split (ie both TV watch the same thing) with any 2 location above
- House has Coax & Cat6 @ each above location - so TiVo signal can come come over via MOCA (coax) or Ethernet (Cat6)
- BluRay & Amp only need to be dedicated only to Family room - not distributed
This setup all with TiVo Lifetime service: (1) PXL4 = $750 + (2) TiVo Mini = $500 + (1) TiVo PXL = $500 = $1750 out of pocket
Comcast fees*: 1 AnyRoom DVR** = $20/mon + (4) Set Top Boxes = $50/mon = $70/mon***
* Estimates since they don't make it easy to tell
**Not available in all areas.
*** Does not include additional cabling upgrades to put all the boxes in one place with HDMI switchers &/or HDMI extenders ~ $1000
- How would IR & RF work to control the TiVo Mini's that would be mounted behind the secondary wall hung TV's?
- What am I missing in my quest for whole house TV watching?
- Is this a cost effective solution? based on above - my out of pocket cost = $1750 vs. $70/mon for Comcast box fees+ Switcher & cabling = payback period of 11 months.
After a recent outage with timewarner it seems my Tivo is no longer able to tune two SDV channels at the same time. I have had the cable card replaced a couple of times. I am now suspecting the tuning adapter but getting frustrated with the process. Anyone else have this issue? Any solutions?
I have a series 3 hdvr Thanks,
We have a TiVo stuck on a startup loop. Been there done that six months ago, got the replacement.
Now, I'm sure they get a lot of inept people calling, but seriously, you can see we've been customers since 2001 so maybe we might have an effing clue about what we're doing?
But this jerk (hi Bob!) was trying to blame it on:
1. Being plugged into a UPS (saying those are really just to give you time to back up your 100 page thesis if the power goes out). So, we should "let TiVo take the brunt of the restart" and forget trying to save an $800 investment if there's a lightning strike...
2. Bad wiring in our house (asking us when the house was built and claiming "who knows what those contractors do"). At one point he said "I have a $100,000 sound system but I plugged a $1000 receiver in and it blew up. So you just never know."
3. Using an external expander (asking us if we read the hard drive manual and/or contacted them regarding hooking it up because they can be wonky). Um, no, we plugged it in and followed the Tivo's on-screen instructions.
4. Not plugging in the expander in the right order.
5. Having anything else plugged into the UPS along with the TiVo (we don't but it shouldn't matter).
6. Having the TV and TiVo plugged into the same outlet (he was talking to us about things like grounding and circuits and ...SERIOUSLY?
7. Claiming we never did a guided startup (then how the hell were we recording programs?).
Basically, it was something we're obviously doing since this is the second one that's died. Then he tells us that after a third replacement they won't replace it again. Huh?! We said we bought the warranty. Nope, three and you're done.
The whole conversation was just completely ludicrous. The things I've mentioned are the BASICS of what he touched on, and everything just sounded utterly condescending. I SO wish we had been recording it because we were just so gobsmacked. My husband and I just kept looking at each other and mouthing "Is he serious?"
Needless to say we asked for a manager and he didn't seem very with it, either--he was just kinda like "Hey, soooo, where are we at? Let me look at your info..." instead of jumping in feet first and taking control). But to his credit he processed the exchange as if we were still within the first 90 days so there's zero cost to us AND we still have the rest of our original warranty left. He said he had no idea what the other guy was talking about limiting exchanges to three.
So, if you happen to get Bob who sounds quite a bit dooshy and questions the build construction of your house while diagnosing a dead TiVo, hang up and try again. Or record it for all to enjoy.
I have no idea how America is going to vote. I can say that in the few years that I have watched this show the this is, by a long shot, the most talented top three I have seen.
If I had to rank the rounds I would say
Round 1 went to Angie
Round 2 went to Kree
Round 3 went to Candace
Some of the song choices tonight did not let the singers soar. They really handcuffed Kree with the 1st and 3rd song choice but she was stellar on the 2nd song.
I said this back at the top 10 two months ago and it still holds true today

Candace is amazing!
At this point I don't think the results matter. I could see all three women being successful after the show.
Poor Brenda, I almost feel sorry for her.
Honestly, I would not have given my reward away to the other 4. It was a terrible strategic move because it made her way more likable in a Final 3.
Cochran with his mother chitchatting about her flight and whatnot was great.
Anyway, finalé on Sunday, right? I would love to see Cochran win. At this point, I think any of them except Sheri could win it.
I seem to recall that someone here on TCF connected a 3rd Mini to their host DVR... Dave Zatz tweeted an answer to a question today that the Mini is currently capped at two per 4-tuner DVR. Is there really that limitation?
In the faq attached to my Amazon review of the Mini I included the following Q&A... I'm having trouble determining whether my Q&A is accurate on this issue.
Q: How many Mini's can I have on my network?
A: The number of Mini's is limited by the 10-device limit on a TiVo account. Theoretically you could have 1 host-DVR and 9-Mini's on a network although it is my understanding that a host DVR can only stream 4 programs simultaneously. Until I see other evidence, I would say the limit per host DVR is 3 Mini's where 2 Mini's can stream live television if the host-DVR is configured to allow 2 devices to watch live TV. TiVo has promised a software update to support Dynamic Tuner Allocation (DTA) in the future.
I upgraded from Tivo HD XL to the XL4 recently and loving the new machine. I have always used a Logitech Harmony One remote with Tivo. I was able to make a new profile with the remote for the XL4 and all the buttons are mapped they way I like and the remote works fine.
But the XL4 has a few features the HD Xl does not. If you hold the advance (30 sec skip) button it will now take you to the end of a recording or to live TV. This is new for me. And of course my remote (or the tivo) seems a bit too glitchy for this feature. If i tap the button it usually takes me 30 secs. if I tap it 3 times it will advance 90 seconds etc. But often if i tap the button it will act as if I am pressing and holding and then take me to the end of the recording. Last night I was watching Matt Harvey pitching a perfect game in the 6th inning. i skipped ahead to the 7th being careful to just lightly tap the button - and of course it took me to the end of the game (Harvey allowed one hit)
This seems to happen mostly in longer recordings of live events - like sports.
Is there any way to disable the feature of skipping to end of recording. I like that u can skip to the beginning of a recording by holding down the replay button. But skipping to end is sort of pointless cause you could always hit ff a few times and then hit the 30 sec skip button and tivo would jump by steps to the end very fast.
If there is no way to disable this feature perhaps i can adjust my delays within the harmony software. Anyone know the correct process?
Finally I would like to know more about the 30 sec skip feature. On the old Tivo, when i hit that button it would take me 30 secs ahead in a jump cut and usually find the correct spot to continue playback. On the XL4 the 30 sec skip will jog through the recording (i can see the commercials speed by) and usually it is not as precise finding the correct playback. I read that there are codes to toggle that can restore the old 30 sec skip. If this is indeed true, have any of you used this feature on series 4 machines? Is it a better way to skip commercials? Can i set it so it will always stay on or will i have to toggle it on after every show? Will using the 30 sec jump this way eliminate my problem of inadvertently moving to end of recording?
Thanks in advance
I have the tiVo elite. I would like to know if it has Kick start on it? If it does how do you access it.
I got a private message from another user who referred to Xbox Live.
I was surprised that it was linked to an Amazon page of Xbox Live content. Then I noticed the pop-up where it said that the link was added by Viglink.
Is it really necessary to modify the contents of our private messages and insert advertising links in them? That seems really, really tacky to me.
Here is what I want to do: slingbox 350 connected to my premiere xl-4 and use my Asus transformer prime android tablet - with the slingplayer app and use the tablet's micro hdmi port to connect to a remote tv for remote tv viewing.
Will this work?
Will I have full access to the tivo - including pytivo and vidmgr remotely?
I have a bunch of movies that I would like to stream remotely too via pytivo.
Thanks in advance.
I might have missed a knob that can fix this, but the INCREDIBLE KMTTG (it is the BEST), seems to want to put the Episode as Season+Episode. So Season 1's episodes will be 101, 102, 103 and Season's 2 will be 201, 202..... Season is correct, but the Meta Data for Episode is a mash up?
Did I miss something?
