I have had my HD XL for 2.5 years. Now, all of a sudden the fan is noisy sometimes when it runs. Does anyone have any suggestions on a replacement fan and how difficult is it to install. Thanks in advance!
How do you move the files from the dvr to an external hard drive, Direct TV??

I have a Series 2 dual tuner i click the remote once and it thinks i clicked 3 or more times.
For example I click down in the menu it will go to the bottom and make a noise until i click up then it does the same except to the top.
I tried two remotes (The tivo remote and a comcast remote.)
Well, they've already got Storage Wars... Then Shipping Wars... Now Barter Kings from A&E. I will definitely check this show out.
I have an old school Tivo Series 1 with lifetime with a cache card and have enjoyed the hobby for years. Time to pass the torch for those who enjoy just messing around with these wonderful machines. I got my first one in 1999!! Back when upgrading to a HUGE 80 gig drive was a big deal...LOL.
Does anyone know where I could list it for sale aside from Ebay were everyone is looking for HD?
Hi, I am looking for the bitrates of each portable device profile. I have tried a few, but they all seem to be roughly the same. I am looking to test them from lowest to highest to see which is a good mix of quality vs size for me, as I have them downloading automagically to my android device via my dropbox on LTE, so size is a concern. Thanks!
We just got hooked up with a couple of THR22's last weekend and started
using the "On Demand" service last night. After downloading
a couple of programs I noticed one of the shows had a blinking flag
next to the title in the "now playing list". We check the program and it downloaded and played fine.
I check the users manual and they covered all the "now playing list" icons except this one.
Does anybody here know what this means? Please excuse me if this has been covered elsewhere.
I think there is a show with a similar name on a cable network, but I am OTA only.
These obstacles are hardcore! I was recently thinking they should bring back the Strongest Man show so I was happy to see this. It will be a nice summer show that I can watch with the kid.
The contestants are a lot older than I would expect!
I've had my new XL4 for about a week (replacing my original S3).
The 4-tuner goodness is pretty amazing, with 3 or 4 of them churning most of the time. I am only at "12% full" but have a mountain of programming to watch, with over 100 suggestions among the MANY scheduled recordings.
The suggestions engine is matching my preference pretty closely, after a couple rounds of adding thumbs-down to stuff I did not like.
I cannot imagine this TiVo getting to >50%, let alone 100%! Yikes.
I'm with Charter and this is really just a complaint.
I think SDV is a great idea. More channels in less bandwidth. No need to broadcast channels no one is watching.
The Tuning Adapter is such a pain, though - at least with Charter.
When they first hooked it up they just kept swapping through tuning adapters across 2 days until they got one to work (about 10 of them).
Then they finally found one and, if it loses contact with the head-end it can take it a while to reconnect. I actually put it on it's on UPS just to try to prevent this.
Well, yesterday they were working on the cable and for some reason my TA got knocked out. I'm on day 2 now of trying to get the thing reconnected and get my channels back.
I have a service call setup for tomorrow morning (just adding to the pain) and I know what they're going to do: Swap out tuning adapters until one takes.
They won't look at, nor even seem to be concerned about, the fact that they go through 10 of them and only one connects so maybe, just maybe, there's something else in play here.. Nope... Just keep swapping them out until one takes.
It's incredibly frustrating.
If I could I'd just go DirecTV - too many trees in the way, though.
It ended the way it had to with regard to Rachel and Finn, but I really wish they'd stop screwing with the Kurt character. He and Rachel belong in New York, and his rejection is just nonsensical.
Lately I've noticed my Season Pass recordings under My Shows, have a blue dot instead of a green one. What's up with that?
I bought this router with the intent of viewing our home movies on our Tivo without having to stream from a PC. When I first attached the hard drive, it started to index the content. Then when I clicked on the hard drive (via Tivo), I didnt see any content. Anyone have success setting up this router with an external drive?
Not long ago my TiVo drive started to fail, so I replaced the 2TB EARX drive with a 2TB EURS drive. I wanted to keep all my programs, season passes, etc, and I wanted to perform limited error recovery at the same time. Some posts here at TiVo Community led me to dd_rescue, which led me to ddrescue, but the details were a bit sparse until I figured it all out.
Long story short, I wrote a concise but fairly detailed article article about how I copied the failing drive to the new drive and performed error recovery. Here's the article link:
I hope it helps in case others face the same problem
Note the replacement drive must be the same size or larger.
Jessica was pretty good in performance 1. Not her best performance by any means.
I'm not a Phillip fan by any stretch of the imagination but I thought he took round 1.
Even though the judges thought she won round 1, I thought this was MUCH better than her first song.
Quite a nice performance by Phillip.
Another craptacular Idol "winner" song. She sang it well but the song itself sucked rear end!
A better song and he did well.
I'd like Jessica to win but not sure she will with all the teenage girls going crazy for Phillip. In any event I don't care if he wins.
Neither my Premiere nor my S3 can find previously recorded Tivo files on my PC. They used to w/o any problem. I used to be able to push and pull .mpg files back and forth. Now they can't locate them. Did Tivo do something nefarious?
I missed the last episode of Amazing Race due to the local channel loss on Series 1 TiVos. I tried to watch it on CBS.com but it only has clips not the whole episode. Can anyone steer me to another place to watch that episode only?
Can someone explain why the cookies are cleared upon logout? If I browse to the site and see 20 topics with unread posts, I open a topic, login to post, and then logout the cookie is cleared and the other 19 topics now look like "old" topics.
