Wife and I want to catch up on Homeland, which we missed so far.
If we add Showtime (on Directv), would we have access to seasons 1 and 2 of Homeland on demand? Seems like that would the cheapest way to see the show, binge-watch over the course of a month.
From Showtime's web site it looks like this would work. Can anybody confirm?
OK, I realize that this is a fantasy universe, but even here, the Second Law of Thermodynamics has to apply. So Warlow's plan of just endlessly recycling blood between himself and Sookie is never going to work -- with each cycle, they're going to lose a little energy, because they need to use some just to live. (Un-live?) Ultimately they'll have to feed on someone else.
Strange that Billith didn't already know that Jessica was gone / in trouble -- he had no trouble sensing Sookie's distress.
I was attempting to renew my membership with the TC Club. The instructions explicitly state that a Paypal account is not required. However, in the checkout flow, Paypal was forcing me to create an account. It would not let me continue without creating a password and agreeing to Paypal terms.
Is this something in how you've set-up the checkout? I've purchased from many other vendors using my credit card and have not been forced to create a Paypal account. I am very interested in renewing, but do not want to create a Paypal account.
What does this error mean? I'm getting it on two of my three Mini's. I set them up a while back, and they worked fine, and now when I try and use them, they don't work...
I'm sure the answer is both need to be subscribed, but figured I'd ask.
I have one TiVo HD with lifetime and cable card. I received another TiVo HD and would ideally just put it in the bedroom and transfer shows from the living room TiVo.
Can this be done without a subscription on the bedroom TiVo?
Is anyone watching this as its pretty good. Since there had been no other threads I figured would start this one as a whole season thread.
Originally I thought this season wasn't going to be as good as the first but so far its quite good. Kevin's ex-partner cop turned bad guy is an interesting story line. At first I thought it was just him acting as a deep undercover but for him to actually kill another cop, and his new boss and all us viewers actually saw it. So he really has turned bad. Of course he wasn't an angel to begin with having hidden and slept with Kevin's wife!
In the episode of 7/14, they introduced a new character - the counterfeit printer and big boss. Is this Lee Tergesen as the IMDb does not show him as being in Copper, but I was pretty sure it was him!
Me and the wife just finished about a two week marathon evening binge watching of all of seasons 7 and 8. I saw the thread on season 7 - is there anyone else here besides me that's still watching? I was very disappointed in the season finale.
Hello, my Tivo HD's guide seems to be damaged or something. If I bring up the guide, everything seems to be there, but if I go into a show and look for additional showings, none are there for most shows.
As a result, most shows aren't recording. Some are, but most aren't.
I did the guided setup and nothing has changed.
is there any way to fix this without losing all my season passes and recorded shows?
I noticed in iTunes there selling "deluxe" seasons of Breaking Bad with commentary. Is this available anywhere besides the discs and downloads? Like as an ongoing podcast?
I enjoyed the characters from the Balacci books, so I tried the show. Not bad!
Case of the week plus a large story arc. Jon Tenney is perfect for this.
Trying to take my 160 GB hard drive out of my Tivo and put it into a used Tivo I just bought and it does not see the drive at all. The cable and guide work but this Tivo does not see the drive. What do I have to do to fix this? My old Tivo had a flaky system board in it so bought this other Tivo with a bad 80 GB drive in it, pulled it and installed my 160 meg drive which works perfect in my old Tivo.
Any help would be appreciated!
Gold Rush: South America, premieres Friday August 2.
It might be a few days before the info makes it into the guide but double check your season passes when you can. It looks like there is a name change which might
require a new season pass to be created.
Comcast has my bill getting close to $200/month ... and I'm watching less and less premium channel programming.
I'm considering getting their faster internet and smaller channel lineup for less than half of what I'm paying now monthly.
The Comcast deal is called Blast Plus or Double Play or something.
I'd like re-start my Netflix subscription and want Pandora and Amazon .... and to be able to record shows. TiVo seems like the rational choice. I was considering Roku, but don't think that's the ticket for me.
Looks like I'll need to grovel to Comcast and get a cable decoder card and TiVO Premier and save some serious cash. I don't need Comcast's DVR and bundle nonsense. I've never used the phone they forced on me.
Thanks for any help here.:o
I think I still like this series. I know I like Demián Bichir (Det. Ruiz), I'm not so sure about Diane Kruger (Det. Cross). Bichir is one of those actors that mesmerizes me and when he's talking I just can't look away. I guess Kruger is ok, it's Detective Cross I don't like so much. I'm hoping that in a couple more episodes her character smooths out into someone who periodically does something that's a bit odd.
The series has a LOT of questions. Who killed the Mexicans who were trying to cross into the US? And more importantly, why? To bring attention to the 250 young women in Juarez? And are all (or most) of the 250 killings related? What does the Millright tunnel have to do with the dead girls on the bridge? Is the only connection that illegals used it to cross into the US?
I hope this all ties together in a plausible way.
As I have anticipated in my previous post http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb...98#post9739698
I have issues with installing the driver for the cachecard onto my TiVo's drive.
1. the LBA48 CD from the 9th tee doesn't work, it does not boot correctly (yes I have downloaded it and burned it to disk again and again, same problem: "Can't find Knoppix filesystem, dropping to a (very limited) shell")
2. I have tried instead using the MFSlive boot CD which I have used succesfully to upgrade the TiVo in the past using the same hardware setup, and the driver package fron 9th tee. Since I don't have a PC with IDE ports anymore, I have to use a USB/IDE adapter which maps the TiVo disk as a scsi device (/dev/sdc); this works beautifully with mfstools which doesn't care if the TiVo drive is seen as IDE or SCSI. However, the nic_install binary for cachecard is apparently only looking for IDE devices as it cannot find the USB-attached disk.
Now, if the install binary were instead a script I could look through it and see what it does and do it manually; but since it's a compiled binary I cannot do that.
I tried to post a support request on the support site for 9th tee, however that bulletin board does not allow registrations so posting there is impossible.
Can anyone help? Jafa? :)
We have had TiVos since their first unit. We have several S4 Premieres now.
We have two upgraded (in size) Lifetimed S3's. One still works great, the other died recently.
The one we used only for MRV "storage" died on us. It just has a clicking sound, which I think is the power supply but I've never delved into the hardware side of TiVo upgrading. Not sure it has any value, really.
If you have any interest in buying either from us, reply here and let me know what you'd offer.
The parts one I'd take almost any amount (though I plan to keep the fan as a spare). You're welcome to the hard drive--though I haven't tested to see if it works. It's either 750GB or 1TB, nto sure which.
For the working one, I won't consider anything under $200.
I have a spare tivo hd3 i bought dirt cheap for parts. If I replace the motherboard with the other one will it register on my lifetime service as a different tivo?
We read the posts and went with suggestions. So we replaced the power supply ~ that wasn't the problem. The fan worked, so that wasn't the problem. We finally figured out it was the HDMI port. How can we replace that? Do we have to un-soder it from another motherboard and re-soder it to ours? Can that be done without damaging the m/board?
I watch several premium TV shows, but since I'm cheap, I only subscribe to the Premium channels a few months per year. Called D* tonight to see if they had any specials and scored all 4 movie channels (HBO, SHO, MAX, STARZ) for $25 per month for the next 3 months.
Currently downloading via VOD the following most recent seasons:
Game of Thrones
Spartacus: Gods of the Arena
Spartacus: War of the Damned
Da Vinci's Demons
Also, the first three episodes of Dexter and the first episode of The Newsroom (and set up my series recordings for the rest of them).
I should be good until January or February when I do it again.
Man, I love Video On Demand.
So if the FCC has their way then CableCards will be terminated or powered off? When is this suppose to occur, and how do we return to our roots of just a Coax connection of 100 and below. Most of the signals are switching to Switched Digital and more analog will follow very soon. So this leaves the average TiVo with in a sense a Pandora's Box. We can embrace the digital needs and use Ondemand as primary source with OTA or giveup on our devices and plug our new HDMI machines into LCD's, HD, or 3DTV/Plasma things. Whichever you choose the counter is ticking down, and what will happen with Tivo will contracts expire because the need to use the service has been reduced?
what's your take and what will you do?
For us, we are already primarily using HuluPlus, Youtube, and Plex. Regardless of this decision January 2014 we are pulling the plug on our cable because we just don't use it as much as before. Besides the networks continue to cancel and pull shows there really is no need to watch broadcast for us. So why the delay for us, we are in legal binding contract with our apartment. Hey you can add service to increase your rent that's called an addendum but nope your damned if your try to decrease your rent.. So this January we will remove that add-on promptly. It's stupid really $75 for cable, 2.95 for the CableCard for Tivo / RR / Phone separately from Brighthouse. It really sucked we were unable to get a bundle bill with the cable.. LONG STORY. Don't want to go there.
