I'm thinking of trying to pick up an older Series 3 used from Craigslist (or even ebay) in order to put it in a bedroom that isn't heavily used.
I'm seeing some on Craigslist, but what do you think is a fair price for a used Series 3 (OLED) or TiVo HD (160GB model)?
Well I hate to even start a thread because I don't have a lot to say.
It was an okay filler. The last 4 minutes were awesome, of course. Brother feelings and Dean praying aka begging to Cas to keep watch over Sammy got me all kinds of teary eyed.
Not crazy about the rest. Dean's facial expressions aside I couldn't really find myself connecting with the characters this episode. I'm not sure why.
What did everyone else think?
A new documentary series on TNT. The first episode was really good. It's a mixture of Cops' type action with a lot of personal backstories. You follow just a few officers through their on-duty and off-duty lives. Donnie Walhberg producing. It makes for a nice bookend to Southland.
Well Rob, you were right.
Not only is Deadshot back but Geoff Johns turns in a stellar script, changing the vacuous Tommy Merlyn into a more fleshed out and sympathetic character.
Not to mention an action packed fight scene between Oliver and China White and the reveal of Oliver in costume to Tommy.
And I don't think that Tommy's ok with it.
(Of course, what happens when Tommy finds Malcolm's secret room?)
Throw in Alex Kingston as Mrs. Lance as a capper and you wind up with a humdinger of an episode.
I couldn't help but notice that ole Floyd was staying in Bludhaven and Malcolm said he went to Nanda Parbat.
Upgraded to a Tivo Premiere so I don't need it anymore. Works perfect with original remote, manuals and I'll include the RCA, S-video, IR blaster to control a cable box and telephone cables. Has a scratch near the Sony logo. Shipped UPS ground
I got an update to my RCX for Tivo app today. You can now press just one button to get Closed Captions to toggle on and off.
On June 16th, 1990, Star Trek: The Next Generation turned the captain of the Starship Enterprise into a Borg... and made the world wait three months to find out if the change was permanent. This April 25th, you'll have an opportunity to experience that moment in theaters with no such interruption. For one night only, Fathom Events is bringing the beloved sci-fi series to the big screen yet again, with both parts of the episode "The Best of Both Worlds." According to the company, the episodes have been remastered, sport new CG effects, and are "seamlessly tied together as one continuous and uninterrupted story." If you're interested in attending, showtime is 7PM local time, and the screening lasts two hours.
Is anyone else really surprised at how much Brandon's personality is different this time around?
He was ALL over the place his first season, sounding like he was afraid he was going to spontaneously find himself having sex with pretty girls in the hut, talking about his Christian beliefs and how much he loves his wife, etc etc.
This time he is way more relaxed and charismatic, and I don't think I've heard him mention religion at all.
I am coming to Tivo as a long time Comcast DVR user. I've just gotten more and more dissatisfied with the limitations imposed and I'm ready to get a Tivo. I also tape 4 programs at a time several times a week and I'm tired of having conflicts all the time.
My question now is whether to buy now or wait to see if new hardware will be released in the next few months based on the FCC filings. Since I've never really had a Tivo, I have read people discussing how slow the new Premiere 4/4XLs are as compared to the Premier with 2 tuners. Exactly what functions are slow? Could you please speculate as to what other functions the new "5" would have? Is there any chance that a newer Tivo would have wireless integrated into the system?
I already have a Apple TV, so I'm not interested in duplicating Netflix/Hulu or any of the other connection available. Thanks in advance for all your advice.
When I checked my To Do list on the evening of February 26 it confirmed that first-run episodes of "Jeselnik Offensive" (Comedy Central) and "Robot Combat League" (SyFy) would be recorded, but when I woke up on February 27 and noticed they hadn't recorded I checked the To Do list history and was surprised to see "this episode was not recorded because the same episode appeared in the My Shows list within 28 days of this broadcast". These were both first-run episodes, so that's impossible! Did this happen to anyone else?
I am having a problem with both my Tivo's. I have a S3 and a Tivo HD and I am currently unable to transfer and show from either Tivo to either of the 2 PC's that I currently have the Tivo Desktop installed on. I am able to transfer Tivo to Tivo, and PC to Tivo just fine, but can not transfer Tivo to PC.
When I open the Tivo software I can see the Tivo's and select the show to transfer, but when I start it I get an error, the status is shows is Failed.
I also have pyTivo installed on one of my PC's and it is also unable to transfer the shows from Tivo to PC.
If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate the help.
all my March 10 and March 11 to do list shows are showing the wrong time, hopefully they will fix this glitch
Does it matter if you keep the Tivo Premiere in Live TV mode when you power off your TV. Just seems so much easier to shut TV off than to go to Tivo Central>Standby. And, you can start from Live TV rather than hit the Live TV button. Any reason to have to put it in stand By mode all the time? I'm aware that the hard drive is buffering regardless, so shouldn't effect that.
My Series2 has been giving me problems lately. It fails to transfer full recordings to my Premieres, even though it recorded the full show. I can watch the full recording on the Series2, but it only transfers part of the recording to my Premieres. It started happening every once in awhile, now it happens all the time, and with every new recording too. Sometimes when I try to transfer a recording to either one of my two Premieres, it makes the Premieres reboot.
Also, the Series2 is VERY slow to navigate. It takes 1 minute or more for Tivo Central to load, and takes more than 1 minute to load my play list. Everything takes forever to load. Also, there is a lot of picture tiling when navigating around different TiVo screens. I haven't noticed any tiling on live TV.
I've already had to replace the hard drive about a year ago. I just deleted everything and did a complete new setup, but the box still acts the same.
Any idea of what is wrong with it?
TiVo Stream, Router and TiVo Premiere all wired directly via Ethernet.
When a show won't download because of copyright restrictions does that mean that the show won't begin to download at all or will it start to download and then fail in the middle.
The reason I question this, is that some shows download perfectly 100% of the time, others fail 100% of the time at about the same point (8-9 minutes of content downloaded). For example, Storage Wars on A&E fails 100% of the time. American Pickers on History succeeds 100% of the time. The error message says nothing about copyright restrictions, it just says an error occurred and gives me the option to try again.
If it was a hardware problem or a problem with the connection I wouldn't think any shows would fail or succeed this consistently.
Anyone have any insight or similar experiences?
Wishlist and YouTube
Is there a way to make wishlist season pass for YouTube new programs for specific channels? Such as specific "News Programs"?
I would like to have our TiVo end recordings at: example 5 pm i would rather see it end at 5 pm and 30 seconds and the start of recordings at that 30 second mark. it always seems that the end of a show is cut off, if you are lucky and recording something that follows you can see the end of the prevouis show.
hope this is making any sense!
I need the remote code for the LG LHB977 1000-Watt Blu-Ray Disc Home Theater System so that I can adjust the LG's volume on the Tivo remote control. There aren't any A/V codes for the LG in the remote code section of my Tivo. I have two Tivo remote controls and I'm unable to get either to work in the Learning Mode. Both remotes work perfectly, otherwise. I've tried LG TV codes but none work for the LG LHB977. I've been told that Goldstar remote codes might work but none that I've tried worked for the LG. I've tried the Tive remote code search technique but that didn't a get a successful hit. I've chatted with LG and Tivo Customer support but no success with either.
I might be done after last night. I really liked the concept of the blind tasting. But how Uno could go when one of the judges BLINDLY thought she had the best dish I just don't get. Nigella convinced them to let Uno go and keep Lauren. Stupid imo.
Holy cow! Now THAT was a hell of an episode of television!
Goes to show how bad last week's episode was.
I'm not even sure where to begin.
The opening with Arlo and the former sheriff. Wow. I knew Arlo was faking but didn't expect him to get killed off so quickly!
Boyd playing Wynn Duffy with the Detroit hitman. Classic Boyd. :)
I feel so bad for Ellen May. I want her to get away.
Colt. Holy crap. He's going to be in a slurry pit before long. Curious to see how this plays out with Johnny.
Arlo's final scene... He was true to character until the end. I bet he would have told Boyd.
The scene with Raylan "rescuing" Boyd. Raylan's comment of "I hope I got that right." after shooing the bejesus out of that guy was priceless. Probably my favorite line of the season, but still behind "Because it's full of Mexicans."
Like Raylan, I'm not sure what to make of Shelby at this point. I want to think he is a good guy, but something feels off. Either way, I love Jim Beaver. :)
Loved Boyd turning the tables on the Clover Hill crew. Not so sure about him relying on God and the federal authorities to protect him from Theo Tonin.
I'll miss Raymond Barry (Arlo). He's such a charismatic actor.
