Thought an episode thread would be in order given the events of this one.
Sybil! I can't believe they wrote her out. She was my favorite one! As this story developed, it seemed like either she or the baby wouldn't make it, though. There wouldn't have been much point, plotwise, in beating up the local doctor just for the heck of it. One more sign that times are passing the Granthams by... they can't just hole up in the estate and count on their money getting them through anymore. I'm sorry to see her go.
Of course Mary remains ever true to herself, telling Edith this won't bring them any closer.
I hope we're not stuck with Tom for long. I don't really think the character works. He's more an archetype than a person.
I am selling my trusty Series 3 TiVo box with LIFETIME service included. This is the 250GB model and I am including a 500GB eSata drive expansion unit as well for a total of 750GB storage. It's the Tivo-approved expansion drive, I researched that when I bought it. Integrates seamlessly and provides 200% more storage than the built-in hard drive. Never had any problems with it!
This is a dual-tuner unit with HDMI output. Has two CableCard slots, wireless adapter NOT included, can connect through Ethernet to wired network or you must buy wireless adapter. I'm throwing in the orginal glow-remote, some of the buttons are a little worn from lots of usage but it works well.
This unit has performed FLAWLESSLY but I have recently purchased a Premiere unit so I am letting this go.
$300 / obo
I have an old TiVo series 2 dual tuner that is stuck on the "Powering Up" screen. I think the hard drive is shot, where can I buy a new hard drive for it? Thank You in advance,
I just noticed that on my TiVo Premiere's guide that a lot of shows the season and episode information is missing. Usually when you bring up a show on the guide at the top you see the name of the show then under that the Episode name is listed followed by the season and episode. Well the season and episode are both missing. This is happening on main broadcast channels like ABC, NBC and CBS.
Is anyone else experiencing this ?
I've emailed TiVo support but I'm still waiting to hear back from them.
Hey all, I'm getting ready to ditch my Comcast HD DVR for a TiVo, but before I do, I wanted to check and make sure now is a good time to buy. Has anyone heard any even remotely credible leaks about new TiVo models on the horizon? How far into the product cycle are we exactly? Will we see the equivalent of a series 5 TiVO in 2013?
I have a series 3 (OLED) TiVo that was having some issues. Fixing a power supply bad cap seemed to only temporarily fix it. I replaced its hard drive with a 500GB one and was finally able to put its original 250GB hard drive in a desktop and ran the Western Digital Data Lifeguard Diagnostic utility on the entire thing. Did the "extended" test (took about 90mins).
It came back with bad sectors and I chose the option to repair them, but it was unable to. I then ran the report and it says the following:
TEST ERROR CODE: 08-Error was detected while repairing bad sectors.
Does this pretty much mean the drive is not useable for TiVo purposes? OR can I possibly "write zeros" and this will fix it? Nothing important on here so I don't mind losing it all.
So glad this show is back!
I watched a Sunday morning recording and every instance of "sh*t" was censored. Made for a weird conversation when Harvery was telling Mike about getting his sh*t together!
I should have rewatched the finale. I feel like I missed an episode.
D'oh! I did miss an episode. Stupid cable. I don't know why it didn't record.
In any case, I got a little choked up when Louis dropped off his resignation letter then walked to the elevator with his box.
So, I'm tired of overpaying my cable company (mediacom) and wasting my time with these guys. Is it REMOTELY possible for me to get my premiere & premiere 4 working with either of these? It's time for a change. If not, well, then I'll stick it out till my contracts expire, but hopefully it is possible to do, somehow?

seems to have fallen over, making TCF slow to load.
Getting caught up via Hulu this weekend. Really enjoying it, parts of the plot are quite contrived but still ok.
For me, the part I appreciate most is the use of good, well written music that draws on story telling, the way country music should. Sure it has some "poppy" modern country, but that's part of the story, the "old versus new" thing.
and I have a crush on Connie.
I remember hearing that with the latest update the channel logos would now appear in the program guide. I don't see them, is there a way to get them to show up? I have a TiVo premiere xl thanks for your help.
My Premiere glo remote is having problems, as it doesn't move with the top four commands very well, intermittently fails or moves the wrong way. Like when I'm on the guide and want to move up or down, etc. Is there anyway to fix it, reboot it somehow, etc.? It has new batteries...
I decided to post this here and not on the help forum because I don't think its a TiVo issue, and also because it's never been answered sufficiently there when other's have had similar issues.
On both my Premiere and HD Tivo, specific season passes didn't pick up new seasons.
- The show name did not change (ie. Top Chef: Seattle, Top Chef: Las Vegas)
- There were no conflicts
- The upcoming episodes guide info was dated and numbered to indicate that they were new, not just generically labeled.
Most recently I realized I missed an entire season of My Big Redneck Vacation because Tivo missed it....You are welcome to judge me on my taste.
I thought it might be because I didn't actually have the channel programmed since its the only thing I watch on CMT. This was not the case.
I have to manually add each new show every week. Neither TiVo ever picks it up.
I have the same issue with An Idiot Abroad 3. I just added it because they insist on having the number the season in the title (dumb). Again, it's as if I have no season pass.
TiVo doesn't know there is a new show, or it doesn't see it at all.
I love the new "view window" on my Premier XL4. Nice to still be able to see what you were watching when scrolling through your list of recorded shows. Was a little baffled about how to return to the recorded show I was watching after looking at My Shows, but found an answer.
Hit the "zoom" button to return to a recorded show you were watching after you've been looking at your list of recorded shows in My Shows. Found that tip on this forum and appreciated it greatly - I kept hitting Live TV and was getting dumped to...Live TV. Duh. Couldn't figure it out. Thanks forum members and admins!
Fairly certain my external MyDVR is failing on my Tivo HD. We get freezes and reboots. Often when it tries to reboot (and the MyDVR is connected) it won't reboot - if I disconnect the MyDVR, Tivo seems to boot fine (and offers to reset itself).
I recorded a show off the Disney Channel for my son and would like not to lose that. I have TimeWarner and the copy protection flag is thrown. There's no way to rescue his recording is there by transferring it to another Tivo is there? When I try to access it from the Premiere, there's just a big red x next to it.
I'm wondering if I purchase another drive and clone the external, if that would work (We've downloaded a half dozen shows from Amazon and while I hate to lose those, at least I can redownload them!)
Sorry if this has been covered before. My green searching skills came up empty. I want to transfer shows/recordings from my Tivo HD to my Mac, then using iTunes, download the show to my IOS device for a true on-the-go experience(one that allows watching from the IOS devices HD outside the home network). I have TiVo desktop. I don't have Roxio but see some users with various software add-ons that may make it easier to do this? Is kttmg the answer? Details would be great such as do I need a certain video converter to make the video iTunes compatible?
