Want to buy the Pro with lifetime service and warranty. Is the Weaknees warranty as good as the Tivo's, they're both $39 for 3 years.
Just wondering if the box has to be replaced will the lifetime service transfer?
I did not notice this before, but I got a software update a while back. Does anyone know what this change?

I have a Tivo Premier that I plan to retire and replace with a Roamio. Can I just transfer the existing cable card to the Roamio or do I need to get it re-paired? Thanks.
This problem is widely reported with Premiere 4 and tuning adapters, including myself. It basically means that tivo will fail to tune to channel occassionally and it will display a blank screen. A few channel Up Down moves will display the said channel.
Anybody has experienced this problem with Roamio?
It's there on the Guide, but I think I somehow turned it off in Tivo Central. TIA
Has anybody torn off the top cover of the new Roamio's to see the specific hardware inside of each of the 3 new models? I mean BCM? hardware, hard drive make/model, etc....?
I know folks at weakness have obviously done this but have teardown images been posted anywhere?
Anyone know how to set up a Harmony 900 with a Roamio to use the ABCD buttons? They don't come up in the customization list for each button and I tried adding them manually but they don't work. Any thoughts?
I'm having trouble finding a dealer that sells Roamio without California tax. Both Amazon and Tivo will charge that near 10% sales tax.

Hello. Neither I nor the Comcast guy can figure out how to get my new Comcast box hooked up to my Tivo. I have a Series 2 DVR and I used to have Verizon FIOS. The way the FIOS box was hooked up to my DVR, I was able to watch TIVO on Channel 3 and if I switched the input to Channel 4, I was able to access Verizon so I could watch On Demand. I could also access FIOS by leaving TIVO via the remote.
When the Comcast guy came to hook up my Comcast box, he must haves switched some things around, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to switch back and forth between Comcast and TIVO.
Any help via instructions or a diagram would be very helpful. I have a non-HD TV, a Comcast Motorola cable box, and my Series 2 DVR. No VCR or DVD player.
The rumor is there is a known bug in old Scientific Atlanta cable card firmware that causes lots of losing channel problems. The Premier 20.3 TiVo release seems to have made this bug infinitely worse (or maybe 20.3 is just buggy and it has nothing to do with cable cards).
I'm just wondering if anyone has a Roamio and one of these antique cable cards (you can find the cable card info in the system info, cable card diag screen). It would be interesting to know if the Roamio software already works better with old cable cards. (I'm supposedly on the list for updates if they ever fix Premiers, but who knows how long that might be).
The card I have big problems with is from Comcast in Delray Beach, FL and the build time for the firmware listed in the diag screen is Jun 3, 2007. (Comcast is also supposedly rolling out updates with a schedule as certain as TiVo's - who knows who will get there first).
This was a great (mobile-optimized) site anyone could use to schedule recordings from. Now it's gone. When I go there I see this:
The page you've requested is not available. You will be redirected to our homepage in 15 seconds...."
And when the countdown is done it doesn't even take me to the homepage. It just refreshes and shows the same error.
Why would TiVo get rid of this? It worked very well, fast and easy, and perfectly suited for any net-connected cell phone's screen. It didn't even need a smartphone/app. I used it everywhere.
Is there a suitable replacement we should know about? The full web page doesn't render well on small screens, and not everyone can run the official TiVo app.
So call me stupid or unable to use search but I was futzing around with my Chromecast last night and realized I had two new devices listed. Both of the Tivo Minis in my house. Anything I can send to my Chromecast from Android or iOS I can send to my Minis. Did I miss an announcement somewhere? This is awesome IMO but now I think my Chromecasts are going up for sale.
I have a new home theater setup going into my great room for my main television viewing area. I'm going to have a Tivo Mini in my master bedroom and I'd like to re-purpose an older, but still awesome, Yamaha AV receiver that doesn't have HDMI inputs. It's easy enough to hook the HDMI out from the Mini straight into the television but, since there isn't any sort of digital audio out from the Mini that I can see, I'm not sure how to get the sound signal to my receiver. Does anyone make any sort of decent adapter/converter that will split the digital audio out of an HDMI cable so that I can run video to my television and have separate digital audio to run to my receiver?

Hey guys new to Tivo and was really excited to discover pyTivoX to transfer some HD shows from my mac to the tivo. For some reason it transfer it over and even puts it in the HD Recordings folder but when I play it it has bars on top bottom and sides, zooming in only kills the quality. Its a 720p mp4 file. See photo below:
I'm using pyTivoX 1.3, any help would be greatly appreciated. This would be really cool if I could get it to work.
I ordered my Roamio on 8/20 without the GROUPER promo code (I didn't hear of it until the next day or so). UPS delivered my Roamio today and included was a free Stream. Its not listed on the packing slip nor my invoice.
Also included was a handwritten card from a gentleman at TiVO thanking me for my purchase & stating that I was one of the first to get the Roamio.
Has anyone else gotten this???
Comcast split the incoming home cable into internet and TV services years ago. One lead goes to the modem and one lead goes to the DVR/Tivo. Always worked perfectly since.
My internet setup is coax directly into a Surfboard modem 6120 Docsis 3.0. Only 1 ethernet port is available and that goes into Apple Airport Extreme Wireless router(5th generation) WAN port. There are 3 gigabit ethernet LAN ports on the Extreme. I'm trying to use the output of one of those LAN ethernet ports into the ethernet port of the Tivo, but it's not working. Could somebody please what I'm doing wrong?
It's not a matter of distance, my modem and my wireless are both 18 inches from my Tivo. Right now I've got the Tivo running on wireless, but occasionally for no reason, it just says it has no connection and just as quickly the problem will disappear. I want to use the ethernet connection if I can.
Can't for the life of me figure out the MoCA deal with my setup.
I have lost channels above basic locals (Comedy central, Cartoon Network, Disney, USA) on Comcast cable in Seattle. We noticed that Comedy Central had really deteriorated prior (pixelation) to disappearing altogether. About the time we lost the channels we had been experiencing very slow internet connections. Comcast sent techs out, ID'd a signal issue ("Hot" too of a strong signal). Techs made external adjustments somewhere along the street, replaced our cable modem w/ a DOCSIS 3.0 model, and replaced the line from the pole into our house. We were out of town for a few days right after this. Came back and realized that we had lost the "next tier" channels just above" locals". We're on an economy digital package so don't get any premium (HBO, etc) or HD channels except local HD's, but the comedy cenral, toon network, disney, etc... are digital, but not High Def.
Cable comes into the house, goes to a splitter, one cable goes to the cable modem the other goes directly into ourTivo HD after a run of ~30 ft. Details on our unit:

Multiple calls to Comcast to reset the Cable Card, multiple calls to Tivo tech support w/ no resolution. I went to a Comcast svc center and swapped out the Cable Card. Reviewing DVR Diagnostics w/ Tivo tech. support showed signal strength of 100 and SNR of 36 DB on the channels we were receiving. Tivo suggested we try a splitter or an attenuator to bring signal back in spec. Tried a 3, 6, 10 DB attenuator. The 3 brings signal back in spec for strength and SNR. the 6 & 10 seemed to bring strength down too much. Have rebooted the Tivo and re-run guided setup as well.
Last call to Tivo CableCard tech support left of w/ no answer, but presumption that a tuner was broken w/ an offer to get a refurb premiere and transfer of lifetime service for ~$350. Asked the tech why both tuners would work for locals & CNN (44 out here) but not the other channels if "one tuner" was broken. He didn't have an answer for that. Seems curious that this unit has run flawlessly for almost 4 years, then flakes out at the same time Comcast acknowledges a signal issue w/ our service. Coincidence or could the "hot signal" damage the Tivo's components?
Looking for input from the community on best next step:
1) Get Comcast out here to try different CableCards
2) Take Tivo up on the transfer option - see if I can get the transfer to a new Roamio Tivo instead of Premiere
3) Other troubleshooting I haven't done yet ???? - have seen threads that a bad power supply could cause this kind of issue, will look into the capacitors on the PSU in this unit.

I did a search and only found 2 threads about the Cisco RNG150N Comcast Cable box. None that helped me. At my business we had a Tivo Premiere HD with a cable card for this Comcast/Cisco box. It was an absolute nightmare to get Comcast to activate a cable card for a business. But they finally did. Officially Comcast is not allowed to use a cable card with a business. Unfortunately the Tivo unit just didn't work well with the cable card. Guide was missing 200 plus channels, couldn't get many channels, etc. It just didn't work.
So I ditched the cable card and now have a RNG150N Comcast cable box. I know it won't work with my HD Premiere Tivo which requires a cable card, but can I connect an older Tivo Series 2 SD single tuner DVR to this HD box and make it work? I don't care about HD. I'm fine with recording SD. I see no serial port on the RNG150N. Can I simply use the composite video/audio outputs on the RNG150N into the Tivo Series 2 and use an IR Blaster to change channels and all will be good?
Again I tried searching but found nothing on this box working with an older Tivo Series 2 Single Tuner.

My new Roamio Plus arrived from Amazon tonight and I'd like to transfer my shows to it off my old Premiere Elite, but it keeps streaming! I'm sure there's some way to do this, and I feel dumb for not being able to figure it out, but how do I tell it to just transfer the show and not stream it? I've tried searching, but haven't had any luck...
Just accessed Xfinity OD and shortly after the SD menu displayed, my av receiver started playing static. Once I chose a program and started playing, the audio for the program started.
When I went back out to the XOD program list, the last live channel audio played until a new show was started.
I am using HDMI and an Onkyo 508 with the pro.
