I had a TiVo Premiere connected to my Panasonic TCP55ST60 Plasma TV through my Marantz NR1603 A/V Receiver via HDMI and both audio and video were working fine.
When I received my new TiVo Roamio Pro I unplugged the power and then moved each cable one by one from the Premiere to the Roamio Pro.
When I finished all the connections, I plugged the power cable back in and no video showed on the TV.
The green light on the front left of the Pro came on indicating that it was receiving power and the amber light just to the right of it blinks whenever I press a button on the remote so it appears to be receiving the IR/RF signal from the remote.
I have tried taking the HDMI cable out of the loop and running it directly from the Pro to the TV. I have also tried using component between the Pro and the TV. Neither of these methods shows any video either.
I have also tried pressing the resolution button on the back of the Pro, in case whatever the signal it puts out by default is one that my TV doesn't recognize. That doesn't work either.
Is there anything else I can try before I send it back for a refund?
It might have been fun to attend live, but that was one of the worst Top Gear episodes with the UK hosts ever IMHO. Hammond did well not to attend. On par with the US version both in host interaction and uninteresting content. Considering how good the shows specials have been, I'm shocked they let this one be broadcast.
So I have a comcast installation scheduled for this weekend and was hoping to use a Roamio. WHo has them in stock at the moment - Amazon doesn't, Best Buy doesn't, Walmart doesn't, weakness doesn't...
I have a Tivo Premiere in a cabinet and it runs abou 43c vs 35c for the one that is not in a cabinet.
Does anyone have there Roamio in a Cabinet and how hot does it run? Do you think there are any issues with this?

I am getting errors when running diagnostics on both the premiere 4 (with moca) and a tivo mini. Recently, when doing diagnostics, I notice the port check fails. It used to succeed almost instantly. I contacted Tivo tech support. Their suggestion was to open about 22 plus ports on my router, which I have. However, I am still getting a port error issue. Any suggestions?
I've had a TON of issues trying to pair may CableCARD with Charter. I've tried 5-6 CableCARDs, a dozen or so calls, and a Charter tech service call. Nothing helps. I have two other TiVo's (both Premieres), and I compared the CableCARD screens to one another. I found quite a bit of difference between the 'Conditional Access' screens of the activated Premieres and the struggling to activate Roamio - but I have no idea how to interpret what the issues is.
On that screen (Conditional Access), my Premieres show a fully populated screen where my Roamio only shows the first few lines (it ends with auth and con).
Like I said before I have tried multiple CableCARDs and it is always the same. CableCARD installs have always been painful for me with Charter. This time seems worse!
A couple of other 'finds' are that testing channels via the cable card menu shows "No Channels Available" and a black screen. Testing channels via the tuning adapter menu shows channel info (and has the ability to scroll channels) but still has the black screen. Interestingly, when I remove the tuning adapter, the ability to scroll channel information via the cable card menu returns but there is still a black screen.
Going into the tuning adaptor menu shows OOB errors, PSOC(?) failures and Init fail - but the amber light on front is solid and does not flash.
Any idea from all of this information what the issue is? Is it the TiVo box? CableCARD (x5)? Could a bad tuning adaptor be the issue?
Some stupid questions from an occasional TV watcher. I'm trying to decide between these models. Most of the differences I don't care about... the one of concern is streaming. What is the difference between TiVo streaming found in the Roamio vs. the Roamio Plus. Right now, I rarely use services such as netflix, hulu, etc., but who knows what the future holds. The only other concern is hard disk size. I rarely get past 75% full on my Premier, so I'm not overly concerned with having a bigger drive.
The only reason I'm even thinking about upgrading is because my Premier is starting to act flakey and I think it's on its way out (it's 2 or 3 years old).
Also, it seems only a few places are selling the devices and they're all advertised at list. TiVo offered me the Roamio for $150. Can I do better elsewhere?
Ive been setting up all my current tv shows for HD digital download to the Roamio, and The Bridge which is on Fx gave me that notice last night after I bought an episode?
Ive used tivo and amazon vod off and on for years and never had a tv show that you could buy, not be able to be sent to the tivo download queue.
Any ideas? I wouldnt think media rights would matter, I mean you can buy it for PC, kindle and Roku viewing...
If you have more than one basic Roamio, do you only need a single TiVo Stream for all of them, or do you need one Stream per Roamio?
I have a 2 tuner Premiere (Cable and OTA capable) with a 2TB drive and lifetime subscription. Will sell for $400 shipped in the US to a paypal verified address.
Includes peanut remote and power cable as shipped. Remote is as new as I never used it. (I use a slide remote) and the Premiere is in perfect condition and works fine. Will pack carefully and ship UPS with tracking number.
Ive seen / read on this & other forums that TIVO in australia/NZ is effectively dead.
i'm wondering, if i want to.
a) can i buy a new tivo box / main unit from USA & have it work in NZ ?
ive got a Series 3, model TCD663320
(Mainly looking for the 1TB expansion pack.)
b) I heard / read that the current HYBRID contract thing / licemce expires in 2016.
If the TIVO providers (main boxes) are currently dead, & Hybrid are only 'servicing' existing customers - Wouldn't taht lead to the existing contract expiring, & making way for finding a new AU/NZ provider ?
c) Currently, I pay no monthly fee for Tivo. If they did have one ($5 or $10 NZ a month) & a lower purchase price for the unit, I think it'll be more profitable for the NZ/AU tivo
I've created a new drive from a non-native image to my TiVo - so I know I have to do a Clear and Delete Everything -
Is there a way to bypass the Guided Setup? It forces me to go though this process that takes about 45mins or more just so I can wipe it all out when I'm done!
Obviously I'm asking for the NEXT time.
I'm trying to upgrade a drive and had an old image version 11.0g; and I've been waiting for this thing to upgrade. Hoping to get 11.0m but would be happy with 11.0k --
I've forced 3 calls and it's gone overnight yet it still at 11.0g.
is there any magic to this?
I am definitely not liking Freeman's mother in law. Her mouth is going to get them killed or their house burned down. Lord knows what'll happen once she finds out her sons were lynched in that neighborhood.
Is Freeman the only doctor in Five Points?
I didn't see a guy getting stabbed in the eye coming. Neither did he. Bwah, ha, ha, ha, ha!
Pregnant jailhouse sex. Didn't see that coming either.

seems to not work with the Roamio at the moment. I suspect it doesn't know what a Roamio is but would work fine if it did. Since it doesn't know it, it refuses to connect to it.
I Emailed the developer. Will share what I learn.
kmttg and pytivo work great!
It would be nice if tivo could add more content like roku...no stupid channels...just grade a channels like acorn, snag films,etc..that provides excellent content...I like tivo but doing this you could be a powerhouse. I like tivo setup better..even though rouku is basic and easy, I like tivo better. I keep switching from tivo to roku because of the other content I am subscribed to. It would be nice to have all that in one place..I wish I could stream roku through tivo...wow!!!!
I was wondering if tivo has plans for more content.. it would be nice if it had content like roku.. I keep going back and forth between the two. I would love to have all my content in one place
like this tivo. It would be nice.
My antennae where I live sucks!!!....it keeps going in and out all the time. I have a season pass to record a show and I cannot access the channel because it is too far away not in my viewing area....will the roamio still record it if I cannot access it in another area? please help.
Or videos of the units in action.
