I have another TiVo HD that's not in use. Can I either transfer my lifetime to the other box or pull the HD from the good one and put it in the box with Lifetime? I'm assuming it's the HD that's dying.
I *still* keep checking out of habit, but I'll hopefully soon stop doing that..
But the Tivo app now FINALLY remembers that I want to download everything in the lower quality rather than the higher quality!! (Mostly for download speed..)
I have 3 customers reporting the same thing....Tivo Premier XL4, all searching Netflix or Youtube....Half to 3/4ths of the time the search happens, the sound from the resulting item is muted. I just searched Breaking bad episode 1 and it came up muted.
All hookup's are HDMI, tv's are Samsung, and the sound is being processed through a Marantz SR 6007, and it seems to be muted.
Anyone else see this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Just wondering if any TiVo users have used a tuning adapter with Cogeco as yet?
Have an S3 and TivoHD and was thinking of upgrading to Roamio Pro in part because of traveling and wanting to take my shows with me on the plane.
How is the direct to iPad quality of the transfers from the Roamio compared to downloading and converting via Tivo Desktop Plus? I just don't like the two step process for Tivo Desktop.
I have my device set to do the 30 second scan on "Advance". Sometimes, while watching a show, I will hit advance many times quickly to try to pass a longer break 3-15 mins. I see the TiVo skipping 30/1min/1:30 and so on. The suddenly it will skip to the tick mark, usually 30mins or an hour forward based on the number of Advances I've pushed. This is extremely frustrating while watching a recorded sports event while trying to keep the outcome unknown, and often ruins the experience.
I understand there are similar threads but none seem to address this particular hybrid behavior issue so I posted here.

Anybody else watching the Starz miniseries Dancing On Edge? It's the fictional story of a black jazz band in 1930s London starring Chiwetel Ejiofor. Jenna-Louise Coleman of Doctor Who has a minor part. Angel Coulby, who played Gwinevere on Arthur has a major part. John Goodman's in it too. I've just watched the first two episodes back to back and thought they were excellent.

Hi TiVo Premiere owners!
Later today we will begin releasing the Fall Update (220.127.116.11a) to TiVo Premiere boxes.
Here are some of the changes:
- "What to Watch Now" available from TiVo Central
- Press the C button in the Guide to filter by genre
- Updated WishList screens in HD
- Removed "Browse Web Videos" -- you can find web videos in Search, or use the "Web Video Hotlist", AOL.on, or YouTube apps
- 4-tuner Premieres that feed TiVo Minis no longer need to "reserve" a tuner so the Minis can watch live TV
- TiVo Minis can now remotely manage the To Do List and Season Pass Manager of TiVo Premieres
- new (HTML5) YouTube app with DIAL support
- advanced help for troubleshooting whole home network and box connectivity issues (Help > Whole Home > Streaming > Advanced Help)
- fixed the freeze in the Signal Strength meter, where it would report the same signal level for all channels
- fixed the issue where some boxes with Tuning Adapters stopped recording TiVo Suggestions
- support for out-of-home streaming through a Roamio Plus/Pro in the home (and eventually TiVo Stream, when that update is released next month)
I expect the update to be available after 4pm Pacific to anyone who was signed up on the priority list before midnight last night. If you signed up today, then your box will most likely update after 4pm tomorrow.
I am really impressed with my new Tivo Roamio.
I love the fact that it can stream ... and that out of home (OOH) streaming is here.
1. If I stream to my iPad can I also then use my Apple TV to Mirror the stream to my large screen plasma? (Though this may seem pointless, it may be useful when I travel for vacations)
2. Is there an equivalent Tivo App to use with Roamio for my MacBook? Is this something that is being planned?
Is it just me, or are there just too many story lines?

Is it possible to use my Android (Galaxy S4) to completely control the Roamio and watch shows (OTA) on it? I don't currently have an actual tv, and don't intend to get one anytime soon.
I'm switching to Comcast from FIOS on Wednesday and I wanted to avoid as much re-configuration as possible. I'd love to just pop the FIOS card out and put the Comcast one in but I know its not that simple. I'll have to repeat Guided setup it looks like.
I'm reading that season passes WILL survive the guided setup but I can't see how that would work seeing that all the channel numbers are now different... Thoughts?
Ideally I'd really like to retain my :up::down: preferences but I also think that's a pipe dream. Any switching provider advice? (yes I searched)
I had to download TiVo Desktop Plus when I upgraded to Windows 8. I have a Series 2 TiVo. When the software wouldn't see my DVR I found out it was not supported for Windows 8, but I kept finding forum users who were getting it to work by using patches or codecs. I called a service tech who said my problem is a network problem, not a codec problem, and they don't support Windows 8 so there is nothing they can do but give me my money back. We tried restarting everything, setting the system to use the TiVo Beacon, disabling Firewalls etc, and nothing helped. I tried to go to several links mentioned in forums about a patch, but every link I tried is now a dead-end. It seems TiVo is disabling those links.
Before I call back to get a refund on the software I wanted to make one last try to find out if there are any others out there who have a fix. Please notify me if there is some patch still active I can download. There is nothing else I can do to the DVR or my laptop to fix it.
I have a recording bug that isn't the same as the back to back recording bug but is similar. I have a season pass for The Amazing Race (scheduled from 8:00-9:00) and The Mentalist (10:00-11:00). Notice that these shows are not back to back. Due to football overages I pad each show by 1 hour. I got the text from CBS that shows were about 8 minutes behind in the NY area so I adjusted the 2 recording to only pad 15 minutes instead of the 2 hours that was scheduled for both of the recordings.
I ended up with a 2 hour recording of the Amazing Race and a 1 hour and 15 minutes manual CBS recording. The same exact thing happened for The Mentalist. Also note that I made the change before either recording actually started. This isn't an overlap recording issue as neither recording was ever actually set up to overlap the other as the shows are an hour apart and even with the 1 hour default pad do not overlap.
Has anyone else seen this bug?

I have a roamio pro and 3 minis (via Moca) and only one of the minis connected to a regular 4:3 tv keeps getting a V301 error only on Youtube...Netflix works fine.
I think there's a bug where if i do 4:3 and 480i it hangs...if I do 4:3 and 720p it seems to work?
